61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Few questions regarding the DCAing BTC. on: March 28, 2023, 03:17:52 PM
3. How about the amount of money you put into BTC while DCAing? Should be the same about and it can vary?
This should be something that you can afford to lose. Or maybe extra money that you wouldn't mind being held up into an asset.

first of all, thanks a lot for your reply. On 3 question, what I meant was if I should invest the same amount of money every time when I buy BTC, or the amount is not important as long as I do DCA constantly? (well I understand that money is limited, and all that, however, for the sake of understanding, given that I have stable income should I put the same amount or not, that is the question)
62  Economy / Trading Discussion / Few questions regarding the DCAing BTC. on: March 28, 2023, 03:02:06 PM
Some questions that I would like to ask here:

1. Does DCAing work when the price of BTC is rising and declining? (bear and bull markets). Now that price of BTC is rising, should I continue to do DCAing?
2. Should I strictly follow a schedule? Like every month, every week and etc. Is schedule is even important?
3. How about the amount of money you put into BTC while DCAing? Should be the same about and it can vary?
4. What are other considerations I should take while doing DCA in the rising market? Please note I am considering BTC only.
5. Is there times/cases/periods when DCAing is not profitable?
6. When to stop DCAing?

Thanks.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2023, 09:59:04 AM

Is there any explanation of this chart in more like ELI5 style? I did read the explanation provided underneath, however, I don't think I understood it. Especially it will be interesting to learn what people are making out of this chart?
64  Economy / Trading Discussion / Please explain the math behind the DCA. I am confused. on: March 23, 2023, 04:10:42 PM
So, I was DCAing, and at some point in January, 2023 I had 350 CNS (some coins) at 45 USD in average. Then I sold 100 of CNS. So now I have 250 CNS. The question: is the average still 45 USD per CNS? Or how do I calculate average price per coin after selling 100 of them?
65  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Migrating Ledger Live to new laptop on: March 22, 2023, 07:07:58 AM
I have Ledger Live (Nano X) installed on my old laptop. Yesterday I received a new laptop and installed Live on that laptop. When I connected Nano X to the new laptop, after some configuration all my accounts came to the new laptop. I can see all my accounts and balances there. I even withdraw some funds from CEX to the new Live app on the new laptop. Is it safe to delete Live app from the old laptop now? Or how to make sure that I am safe and can get rid of the old laptop?
66  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ELI5: What is Ordinals and how they work? on: February 21, 2023, 08:54:09 AM
Forget about the official website and the documentation, it is filled with lies and misinformation.
For example "Individual satoshis can be inscribed with arbitrary content, creating unique Bitcoin-native digital artifacts that can be held in Bitcoin wallets and transferred using Bitcoin transactions." is filled with misinformation. The satoshis are not inscribed, the content is not unique and there is no way to guarantee its uniqueness, you also can not and do no transfer the content itself to anybody when you send coins.

Another way of looking at Ordinals is (to put simply) a brand new scam method to sell tiny amounts of bitcoin to idiots at much higher prices.

  • First step is to come up with some arbitrary data which can be anything like byte presentation of a picture and create the Taproot script.
  • Second step is to compute the corresponding address of that script and sending some small amount of bitcoin to it (eg. 10000 satoshi)
  • Third step is to find some idiot who would pay a lot of money to buy 10000 satoshi (of course minus the fee so in reality in the example above they are buying 5920 satoshi) for a lot of money.
  • Fourth step is receiving the money and sending them the tiny amount of bitcoin whilst revealing the garbage data you created in step one.

There are no NFTs, no arts, no ownership, ... being transferred here, individual satoshis have no extra value, ... and all the other lies they tell in step 3.
Bottom line is anybody who paid more than $1.28 for the example above is being ripped off while contributing to an attack on Bitcoin. Arguing over UTXOs and how they are involved in this spam attack is pointless in my opinion Tongue

this!
I also have same questions, but before asking those questions I wanted to understand how Ordinals work in a hope that those questions will be resolved. For example, if a single sat can be inscribed with a artifact, say there is a sat that has mp3 inscribed, where is the mp3 is kept/saved/hosted?
67  Other / Beginners & Help / ELI5: What is Ordinals and how they work? on: February 20, 2023, 10:51:52 AM
So lately Ordinals becoming a hot topic. I don't understand how it works. Can someone please explain like if I am five?

Но долгосрочные инвесторы они же смотрят на перспективу!

Долгосрочные это сколько ?   Вот  например  монеты  выдержки 10 лет  льют  по любой  цене .
Почему  выше не продавали  а хз  что ими  двигает.

https://www.lookintobitcoin.com/charts/whale-shadows/

ну а почему льют? там вроде речь о "coin movement" а не о торговле, нет?

"The coins are moving from a wallet that they have stayed on for years, to another wallet."

If you have not seen traders who trade with profit, then you need to refer to the Binance rating page https://www.binance.com/en/futures-activity/leaderboard Similar ratings exist on almost all cryptocurrency exchanges and you can become one of the leaders when your trading is as successful.

this is interesting list! never seen it before. Even more interesting is that those who are leaders of trading also in red! Many of them have negative total ROI.

I have looked through all the rating pages and have not found a trader who has a negative total ROI. Post here a screenshot of a trader who is included in this rating and has a negative total ROI. This is a rating and if you have a negative total ROI, then you will not be able to get into it.

This one for example: https://www.binance.com/en/futures-activity/leaderboard/user?encryptedUid=BAB8960FE8CCE6B8BFBF357BFDBAF117
I mean I might be wrong reading the data, however, I see that his Total ROI is -6.57% and Total PNL (USD) -175,183.33

From what you have said, I can see that you are frustrated because you are not getting what you want from trading crypto. In fact, I see the opposite, the long term is a very good thing to do, especially when it comes to bitcoin. I think there are many who suggest prioritizing long-term investments rather than being a short-term trader. You can see there are lots of people out there who have had success with their long-term trading. It may be difficult to find people like that around us, but if we look around the world we will find people who are successful.
Not that I am frustrated. No. I did few trading attempts with the money I can afford to loose. After couple of weeks, at the end the amount is the same, however, I put a lot of effort into it. Now I understand that:

1. I was emotional or probably too much excitement
2. Didn't have any solid strategy. All I was trying to do id buy low and sell high. But then the moment I sold, it went up again. Or vice versa.
3. Didn't know the coin, and its fundamentals. However, I don't know if it is important. Because I saw some traders saying they don't care what they are trading. How is that?
4. Didn't know overall market trends, bearish or bullish.
5. Didn't know the tool available for trading and how to use them. Now I think I need to learn how to use those tools on exchanges.

Somehow these are the lessons learned so far.

That's why we need to have patience because talking long term is not an easy thing.
actually it's a long term or short term investment depending on what coins are invested,
in crypto trading we can't always expect it to be profitable in a short time

if you can wait and sell it only when the prices are up then it is not trading, it is more investing.
If I am correct trading has certain short time frames. It could be a day or a few days. But not months and years.
73  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone out there doing money by trading? How? on: January 03, 2023, 07:17:40 AM
The more I learn I am kind of coming to conclusion that trading in the long run is not profitable. I mean I don't know any single person who is doing decent amount of money for living by trading in crypto. Hence the question: do you know anyone who is successful trading in crypto? or are you doing well by trading crypto?

Most traders just lose money.

https://tradeciety.com/24-statistics-why-most-traders-lose-money/

Here is how you to make money trading.

Open 2 accounts, one in each exchange.

Open a long position in one, and a short position in the other. Make a video of both.

The one that you made money (no matter which one) make an online course about trading showing your video. Then sell it in Twitter/Instagram or any other social network to teach people how to trade  Tongue

I see so many "traders" selling courses. They are the ones making money.

Exactly, I mean of course I don't have a reliable data to confirm however it is my feeling that a lot of people usually loose money on trading. Then I also see a lot of traders trying to sell their courses... there is one I've been watching (now I stopped watching his channel) who says he did millions on trading... and I think why then he needs to sell courses on trading?

Another example from Twitter. A guy says in three years he did 10 million starting from 50k. And I see a lot of people following him... some very well known people in the crypto are also following him. So I am again asking myself, is this true story or this is just bulshit. Hence these questions. Anyway please share what do you think on trading.

75  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: December 28, 2022, 10:29:29 AM
The ball is in your court, it's certain that the market will go bullish. If you are a hodler keep holding and don't focus completely on the market price. Get busy with other things that can fetch you more bitcoin or altcoins. Though from the negative news on cryptocurrency, the bear market will stay for a longer time, the right move is to accumulate more BTC.
I saw analysis on youtube that basically says all the previous bear market lasted about a year... and now we are already in a bear market for a year (starting from december 2021). Why would you think that this time it will be longer bear market?
76  Economy / Trading Discussion / Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: December 28, 2022, 06:56:55 AM
Those who've seen previous bear markets, survived several winters, please share some hope and courage.
This is not the end, right? Smiley

Точно! Есть отчёт Мессари! Уже опубликовали!

https://messari.io/crypto-theses-for-2023
