EDIT I got one stick running in a hub, but can't get two working properly. I was able to get one running on the hub and a second running directly from the USB port on the RPi as a test.

Did you type a zero instead of a "O" (capital o) in the autogen line and it returned an error and you didn't notice, so when you typed the make line nothing got compiled?
I copied and pasted each line directly from the example given. I do get some strange stuff after the make function. The very bottom of the terminal screen shows a warning: pi@RPi4:~/git/git/vthoang/cgminer $ sudo make -j 2 make all-recursive make[1]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer' Making all in lib make[2]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/lib' GEN arg-nonnull.h GEN c++defs.h GEN warn-on-use.h GEN signal.h GEN string.h make all-recursive make[3]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/lib' make[4]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/lib' CC dummy.o AR libgnu.a ar: `u' modifier ignored since `D' is the default (see `U') make[4]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/lib' make[3]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/lib' make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/lib' Making all in compat make[2]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/compat' make[3]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/compat' make[3]: Nothing to be done for 'all-am'. make[3]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/compat' make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/compat' Making all in ccan make[2]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/ccan' CC opt/libccan_a-helpers.o CC opt/libccan_a-opt.o CC opt/libccan_a-parse.o CC opt/libccan_a-usage.o AR libccan.a ar: `u' modifier ignored since `D' is the default (see `U') make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer/ccan' make[2]: Entering directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer' CC cgminer-cgminer.o CC cgminer-util.o CC cgminer-sha2.o CC cgminer-api.o CC cgminer-logging.o CC cgminer-klist.o CC cgminer-noncedup.o CC cgminer-usbutils.o usbutils.c: In function ‘cgusb_check_init’: usbutils.c:1618:4: warning:‘libusb_set_debug’ is deprecated: Use libusb_set_option instead [-Wdeprecated-declarations] libusb_set_debug(NULL, opt_usbdump); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In file included from miner.h:129, from usbutils.c:18: /usr/include/libusb-1.0/libusb.h:1300:18: note: declared here void LIBUSB_CALL libusb_set_debug(libusb_context *ctx, int level); ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CC cgminer-crc16.o CC cgminer-driver-gekko.o CCLD cgminer make[2]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer' make[1]: Leaving directory '/home/pi/git/git/vthoang/cgminer' pi@RPi4:~/git/git/vthoang/cgminer $

Good morning, I followed the instructions at the beginning of the thread to install CGMiner onto a Raspberry PI, but I appear to be missing the CGMiner executable file. pi@RPi4:~/git/vthoang/cgminer $ cgminer -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1BmcjRJTRQAP7je5B7tDCLw4MDzXceSG9P.0 -p x --gekko-newpac-freq 100 --suggest-diff 128 -bash: cgminer: command not found pi@RPi4:~/git/vthoang/cgminer $ I'm running a Raspberry PI 4 using Rasbpian 10 (buster): pi@RPi4:~ $ cat /etc/os-release PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)" NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux" VERSION_ID="10" VERSION="10 (buster)" VERSION_CODENAME=buster ID=raspbian ID_LIKE=debian HOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/" SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums" BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs" pi@RPi4:~ $ Anyone have luck running cgminer with this configuration?

Which version of Raspian are you using? Buster?

The request difficulty still isn't working for me against CK Pool.
bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.bmoscatosticks -p x -S rockminer:all --set rockminer:clock=280 --set compac:clock=250 --request-diff 48 --api-listen --api-allow W:10.0.0/24
The pool starts at 1k and takes about 5 minutes to normalize and then starts from a low number. At 7 minutes I went from 1k to 23 and right now at 8 minutes I'm still at a difficulty of 23, not the 48 that I specified. CG Miner is up and running in less than 15 seconds when I specify a difficulty, it doesn't wait for the ASIC to get to 1000 a few times.
I think you just need this little change: bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333#cksuggest -u 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.bmoscatosticks -p x -S rockminer:all --set rockminer:clock=280 --set compac:clock=250 --request-diff 48 --api-listen --api-allow W:10.0.0/24 Cool, thanks.

P.S. can we stay on topic?
Sorry but it's not often that someone new pops up with 500 S7. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I would consider carrying out 5 Simultaneous experiments each with 100 S7 on different Pools / payment systems. For PPS you will get an instant comparison, however for PPLNS you are going have to wait for the tail to work through when you stop mining plus you are also may just end up measuring Pool Luck. Bottom line is that in the long run there is not much to choose relative to setting them up for maximum reliable Hash Rate, and keeping them running 24/7. Rich I understand I just signed up, and I don't blame anyone who doesn't believe me. Doesn't matter to me anyways because that's not the message I am trying to deliver. I have read some articles on PPLNS that if you are running these machines 24/7 you're more likely to earn more than PPS as PPS fees overpowers PPLNS. I am not sure if this is true statement or not, but like I said in the beginning, it's rather more risky for me to switch it all over at once, than hear opinions from people who have actually experimented it. I will perhaps turn 100 of them to PPLNS and compare earnings to 100 of the PPS. Thanks. Just as an FYI, I didn't say that I didn't believe you, I'm somewhat jealous... LOL... I was just surprised by the amount of hardware you have invested in and asking here for best options. Like someone else said earlier, it's not the standard to have a "big player" pop up and ask questions. That said, I wish you luck. I would probably split my hashing power between different pools to try and maximize profit.

I literally have 2.311 PH/S, not 2.311TH/S
I have 500 S7 with overcloaked turned on.
Not a professional? That's a lot of hardware to be a hobbyist.

I'm trying to request a starting diff by using --request-diff 48, but the command doesn't seem to work. My entire batch files is: bfgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.bmoscatosticks -p x -S rockminer:all --set rockminer:clock=280 --set compac:clock=x0d82 --request-diff 48 --api-listen --api-allow W:10.0.0/24 CKPool does not honour target requests. I'm assuming that it works with CG Miner 4.9.2 which I use to run my U3's because it's written by the same people? I set the diff to lower number than the 1000 in CG Miner than the poll initially requests.

Do we still need to use a donation address or can we just add hashing power from our main address?

Here's the deal, I have 3 of these units running and they will roll to another comm port for no reason. I've tried different power supplies different quality USB cables and I've had units run for over a week without rolling to another port or going zombie, then I've had cases where the same setup goes zombie in less than 2 hours without even rolling from AU3 0 to AU3 1. The best luck I've had was running the units solo with the old version of CG Miner that Bitmain has for download on their site, but I have issues trying to get a second unit to run.
Hmm, i only tested on solo mining, maybe next test will be nicehash, i think this is worst scenario, jumping from coin to coin, i only have one unit, so i can't test multiple u3 on one controller, if someone want to volunteer i can help with firmware setup. I only have mine set to solo mine on CK Pool.

Can you recycle anything from the U3 miners?

Jake36Thanks for the info! Will keep an eye on this psu. bmoscatoMaybe, but i think this is caused by outage of main router for about an hour or so But miner still works, this is all i need. I need to find a block ! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) As said earlier: if it works don't touch it ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Here's the deal, I have 3 of these units running and they will roll to another comm port for no reason. 31 hours, no errors, continue testing, made some adjustment to firmware, and porting antminer s5 interface to it, stay tuned ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FSoZ04Em.png&t=664&c=MEAcLYYaZWFsoQ) You already had a zombie as it rolled from AU3 0 to AU3 1.

I know that preorders are taboo, but I have no issue with it with Novack and Sidehack. They seem like pretty straight shooters and tell it like it is. I'd rather support a small shop US than some random place in China.

Is there any way to set the minimum or maximum difficulty on the client side? Every time I start my U2, U3 or Compaq's, it takes almost 10 minutes before the diff comes down from 1000 to where I can start getting blocks? This happens with both CG Miner and BFG Miner for me.
