101  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you deal with depression and anxiety? on: May 26, 2024, 10:51:18 AM
Most of the people in our society are always depressed about something, in this case what kind of activities do you do when you are depressed??
It will be good if you didn't get yourself in anything that will cause you to go through depression in the first place because it is not something you can wish for your enemy not to talk more of you yourself because depression can affect one's mental state at that material time so we should instead not allow anything that will lead us to depression than looking for activities and things to involve in while facing depression because this is basically a time when you are in an emotional breakdown and trauma and nothing you do at that particular time can ease the tension except you are not depressed in the first place.
102  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Make a difference in your society. on: May 26, 2024, 10:22:42 AM
If you have the opportunity to be a leader in you society, will you make the difference to end negative things from your society or you will allow the negatives things continue in the society? To me, If I have the power or influence, I will make a difference in my society to  end negative things like corruption, insecurity and other things that are bad to society.
It is easier said than done because you can't fight negativity totally but it can be reduced and for it to be reduced, your influence, decisions, actions cannot change it but the efforts of everyone around you can turn things around for the better. You see insecurity, corruption and Terrorism, no one can completely put an end to all this things because it has been a part of human existence right from creation of the world and for you to fight the negativity around you firstly you need to start from individuals around you like your friends, relatives and families because they are even the most important people to tackle because we live in a society whereby when you become a leader, the people around you feels they are at liberty to do things anyhow and get away with it because they think you can defend them all the time but if we can be able to change the mindset of those close to us, we can also change the reasoning and behaviours of other people in the society.
103  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Bank limitations, loss of customers as result of POS on: May 26, 2024, 09:52:27 AM
Normally all these POS stands that you see everywhere like people selling recharge cards in the olden days was as a result of the harsh conditions that bank customers face either to withdraw or deposit their funds to their bank accounts but it is also an advantage to some people in the society because a lot of individuals are really making money doing this POS business and I think that is the more reasons why we see a POS stands every where you go and it has helped in giving self employed jobs to a lot of people who now use it as a source of livelihood so "no pain no gain" as frustration of banks brought about this idea of POS it has also aided in liberating the lives of some people in the country and made transactions more easier and reliable unlike going to the bank to make deposits or withdrawal which sometimes results to wasting the whole day.
104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: May 26, 2024, 08:36:25 AM
And since 2022 experts were predicting that bitcoin will hit $100k in this season and the way the movement of bitcoin, it might hit the "Road to the $100k" and the end of the year or the first quarter of  next year.

I find appeal to authority to be problematic in any argument.

To me, it seems better to argue why something may or may not be true, instead of generally proclaiming that "it must be true because 'experts' say so."

Sure some folks are smarter than others, and some folks have better logic, but it seems to me that it is likely better to refer to your authority folks specifically or refer to what they said (or might have had said) or substantively back what you are saying rather than proclaiming "experts say."
Exactly, that's the most reasons why a lot of investors got misled is because of this quoting of what 'experts says' or what experts does like who is an expert in the first place? Does it mean they don't make wrong investment decisions sometimes? It is better to do more research about that particular thing you feel an expert did and became successful and even if you want to do same thing or you want to apply same strategies but you don't need to do exactly the same way they did theirs.
105  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Waking up a dead or concluded discussion in a topic on: May 26, 2024, 08:11:20 AM
I do come across threads that have been inactive for more than four months and all of a sudden you will just see a user make a reply on such post that have been inactive for a long time and possibly the discussion is the OP looks concluded from previous replies of other users and this is mostly done by newbies so is it necessary to wake up an inactive thread
First you can see those inactive threads pumped by newbie accounts but it does not stop here.

Next is not newbie members, but high-ranking members, who did not notice how old that thread is, not only four months but maybe four years or older, was pumped by a newbie. They joined those discussions and did not know that they just replied to a non sense post from newbie.

I don't know how newbies can find threads that already are inactive some years, and bump it.

I doubt if users don't notice how old a thread is because when you try to make a reply in an old thread, a warning or rather notification pops up showing that the thread is an old one so there is no excuse for a user in this regard. It is very simple for newbies to find out post that was made long time ago by just just going to the last page of a particular board and find a topic they can comment on.

107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 02:40:43 AM
No not at all it's not like gamblers who are addicted don't win at all or win a jackpot but the reason why gamblers are advised not to get addicted is that there is something about addiction in gambling because they can win a huge amount of money and still end up losing all remember addiction means something you can't do without and these set of gamblers are people that cannot leave the gambling office even if they win a jackpot as they will still continue to play till they have exhausted all the money they won so that is what addiction does. It's just almost same as drug addicts because they can never do without it they make sure that every time they are under influence of drugs and their body gets adapted to it so it is to someone who is addicted to gambling because of they win a jackpot instead of using the money on meaningful things they will still prefer to gamble it the next day so that is the extent to which gambling addiction is very bad.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: May 25, 2024, 10:31:33 PM
The DFB Pokal is coming up, and I think they can win. It would still be a great season for them. Always remember that its about the journey, and they've had a great one.
After their failure in the UEFA Europa League, in the end, Bayer Leverkusen won the DFB-Pokal. Congratulations to those who have finally held 2 medals this season.

Although in fact, it was quite worrying when Odilon got the red card only in the 44th minute, the first half. This is quite scary because Bayer Leverkusen only plays with 10 people. but fortunately they had scored 1 goal first so they were able to handle it quite well. This time the strategy implemented by Xabi was very suitable. Ahh, I remember again about how they played in the Europa League.

https://x.com/bayer04_en/status/1794465070174306540
This trophy just sounds like a consolation for the Europa league title Bayern Leverkusen lost to Atalanta even though they didn't play like before and with the fact they had a red card but yet they were able to still win all the way from first half so the Leverkusen team and Xabi Alonso have been able to win two trophies so despite they didn't win the Europa league but they should be happy for their achievements this season and prepare very well for next season.

It is better to sell your bitcoin if you are in need of money. Just be hopeful for a better future. You can not have money and be borrowing.

I wonder why someone will not make a proper preparation for funds to use and sustain other needs of life while they are holding and it is very bad to have money stocked in an investment and suffering even to the extent of borrowing money, though it takes determination and resilience to hodl when you don't have much money or a reliable source of income that is why it is advisable for anyone that wants to hold their Bitcoin for a long term to have proper source of cash in-flow so that they don't tamper with their holdings. Imagine selling at that price of $25k and now that the price is around $69k the difference is very clear. So since we are aware that more profits can be achieved in the long run it is better to have a steady source of income before hodling.
111  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politicians and false humility on: May 25, 2024, 08:05:19 PM
The problem is not even the politicians but the electorates that they try to deceive just to have their way, imagine where a politician will be offering to pay voters just for them to vote against their wish and vote based on compromise and this act has been happening more especially in African countries. I believe that most politicians doesn't just come out from no where a seek for a public office because most of them have held a previous office before and it is the duty of the electorates to check their previous records of governance if they can still accord same trust to such politicians but instead they foolishly believes in empty promises that a politician make to them and some politicians use to tell the electorates that they didn't do well when they were giving a public office but that if they are re-elected that they will do better but as soon as they are voted in they still continue from their previous ways. I don't blame politicians but the electorates.

~Snip~

Madrid starting line up against Real Betis

source

Carlo Ancelotti starting XI is fire just take a look at Jude Bellingham, Rodrigo and Vinicius Jnr hope they are not planning to do Real betis similar thing that Girona did to Granada and Almeria to Cadiz because with this players he featured to start against Real betis, they may be looking forward to ending the season in a perfect and remarkable manner. Aurélien Tchouaméni absence doesn't even mean anything to the squad and Camavinga is also a good replacement and with what am seeing Real Madrid can even start winning from first half till full-time. I like the fact that Carlo Ancelotti didn't reserve any of the notable players for the UCL finals against Dortmund.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2023/2024 on: May 25, 2024, 05:23:58 PM
Well hooooly cow, nobody expected this at all! United finished the season with FA cup, and they had one of the worst seasons they ever had this year, finishing the year with FA cup on a year that you considered terrible is beyond bonkers. I really assumed that City would be mad after UCL and would win this easily with a big margin. I really really did not see this coming, nobody did, a ton of people lost money on this bet for sure, it snot going to be that easy for people, but I am sure that bookies must be loving this lol. Think about all the money that was put to City to win, I am sure that billions were made just today from this game easily Cheesy Sometimes we just get unlucky, it happens.
Sincerely speaking, even as a united supporter i didn't see this coming. Though I understand Manchester united will try to prove a point because the world is watching, but not to this extent. Wan-Bissaka did a fantastic job with the close marking of Doku to a point he had to switch to the the right wing, though Doku still managed to score at the die minute. This victory has secured them a play in Europe for next season.  Onana was really disappointing for allowing that goal, he handled the ball with kids gloves, because ordinarily that ball wasn't supposed to enter the back of the net.
For people that we are betting for city to win and have lost good money, at least they would have considered that this is an FA cup final, it's not an ordinary game, is a game that have something at stake so anything can happen.
Manchester United really did a great job today and secured a place in the European competitions next season just like you said no one saw this coming at all and surprises of this kind is what we need in a competition, looks like these finals are full of surprises this season because few days ago Bayern Leverkusen that was much anticipated to win Europa league lost to Atalanta and today Manchester city that majority of football fans thought they will win including me but they lost the cup to Manchester United and granted them the opportunity to appear in European competition next season. Onana have been one of the major reasons why Manchester United loses in some matches because that goal was total incompetence and lack of experience from the goal keeper however, kudos to the Manchester United team mates for holding on to the 2 goals scored in the first half till full time even though Onana's carelessness caused them to concede a goal but they really did great work in this match and I commend Ten Haag coaching skills in this finals today.
Basically, majority of football gamblers will lose their bets because they will certainly bet on Manchester city to win.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 25, 2024, 02:28:22 PM
FA CUP FINAL

MANCHESTER CITY VS MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester City StartXI: 4-2-3-1

Stefan Ortega; Kyle Walker; John Stones; Nathan Aké; Joško Gvardiol; Rodri; Mateo Kovačić; Bernardo Silva; Kevin De Bruyne; Phil Foden; Erling Haaland

Manchester United StartXI: 4-2-2-2

André Onana; Aaron Wan-Bissaka; Raphaël Varane; Lisandro Martínez; Diogo Dalot; Kobbie Mainoo; Sofyan Amrabat; Alejandro Garnacho; Marcus Rashford; Scott McTominay; Bruno Fernandes

Here we are talking about final and i don't see Manchester City losing any chances of winning this trophy and again this is Erik Ten Hag last match which he will like to prove himself, who is going to win at WEMBLEY for today's game, Manchester city are in high performance which have won Manchester United three times in their previous matches.
Without a double thought Manchester city will seal the F.A cup and add to their premier league trophy because if not that Manchester city were unfortunate to meet Real Madrid in the Champions league quarter finals, City would have made a treble this season but that not withstanding, two trophy will not be bad for them in this season so Pep Guardiola will have this one. Manchester United needs to either reshuffle the team next season or they sack Eric Ten Haag if not they will still continue to underperform. Manchester city formation looks more solidify than that of Manchester united because their formation is centered more in the midfield. Let's see how it goes as the match is already underway
115  Other / Meta / Re: This need to stop on: May 25, 2024, 08:14:56 AM
I have noticed an usual trends lately in the discussions board most especially Bitcoin discussion, gambling discussion etc, members rush to make a short comment just to reserve the first spot on the page, and after a while coming to edit it with the full text, this make no sense to me, and no signature campaign demands that you must be first to comment at least none that I know.
It's not for signature campaign requirement but for merit IMO. There are few members who always likes to engage in discussion before anyone else so that their contents are visible to the most visitors and they can increase their chances to receive merit. You can always read their post later when you revisit the topic. I do not see anything wrong about it.
Even if some users engage in this practice just for their replies to be visible and possibly gain merit, isn't it when the reply is of good quality and give a relevant information or answer to the OP and must it be every quality posts or replies that must attract merits. IMO it's just a childish act because each boards have moderators and they settle down to read each replies of every users and can come across a good post that deserves merit and awards it even at the last page. It is very bad that most users don't even read other people's replies before they include their own if not someone with generous heart even if they are not merit sources can come across quality posts and awards merit to it if they have SMerits.

For sure there's nothing wrong in making a post and editing it later to give a complete context but it is not a good practice IMO except if it is the OP that reserves it for later or future update

Thanks mate for the breakdown of how to convert Satoshi to Bitcoin because I am representing a signature campaign that pays in Satoshi per post and at first when I joined the campaign I use to find it difficult to convert the number of posts in Satoshi to Bitcoin and just like you said I use to wait till when the spreadsheet have been prepared and then I use Google to do the whole conversion at once but coming through this thread will help me in calculating my number of posts in Satoshi to Bitcoin before the spreadsheet will be prepared.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: May 24, 2024, 09:06:06 PM
Girona is smashing Granada by 7 goals to Nil.

Really smashing, Girona has been angered this night and they have used Granada to say goodbye to the season till next season, Granada have become a sacrificial lamb for Girona this night and Girona is taking advantage of every goal scoring opportunities they have and this will be the highest winning for the week because I don't see any other team that can win their opponents with this kind of huge goal margin so Girona should just rest and prepare for next season because they have got a lot of engagement in the upcoming seasons
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are confident with your picks, do you win most of the time? on: May 24, 2024, 08:47:55 PM
It depends on the type of bet you choose to play like if it involves accumulated matches or just a single match but most gamblers do complain that picking familiar options for a bet doesn't work most of the time like for instance predicting a team that is on winning streak to keep winning doesn't go as predicted because the day you will choose them to win with confidence that they have always been winning is the day they will either lose or draw but since gambling is more of luck it does not matter if you use familiar options for an event but if you are just lucky to pick correctly you can win.
119  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why people dey plagiarise for forum and how we go avoid am. on: May 24, 2024, 07:37:42 PM
You try for this thread wey you create so, the reason wey make some people dey plagiarize na pure laziness and lack of knowledge and understanding because anybody wey get good understanding about thread wey person create no go tell me say him no go fit write out something from yin brain without copying another person because no matter how a discussion be so far as say you write something from your own no how wey e go fit dey exactly with wetin another person write because God has created humans in a unique way such that our reasoning and approach in giving out opinion cannot be the same so no how wey you go write something from your head wey e go match with another person and normally even without being in the forum but even outside the forum if you they write something from someone you go give credit or reference to that person otherwise you don commit crime wey dey punishable.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 24, 2024, 10:42:37 AM
Even some players are sometimes suspected to have been part of a match fixing just like in the match between Tottenham and Manchester city when Son Heung-min was one on one with Manchester City's goal keeper Ederson but he played the ball directly to the goal keeper and after the match, Pep Guardiola went to shake him and people were wondering if the match was fixed to favour Manchester city. So let's deliberate on this
This is just a speculation that would have been started by Arsenal supporters, or others who in support of Arsenal to win the premier league and were depending on Tottenham to help them out.
Son was under pressure in that game, missing was very possible, plus the Manchester City goalkeeper who came into the game did very well.

There is match fixing, But I do not think that it will be in the big leagues like the premier league.
This has nothing to do with being a fan of Arsenal because I love English football more especially England teams and I always support a consistent team and as we all saw that Manchester city and Arsenal were major competitors in the premier league. Just like someone here said, the inability of Son to score Manchester city was a total case of tension and not a deliberate act but you know sport analysts, fans and spectators will always read meaning in a match differently not only in the match between Tottenham and Manchester city as there were also some past matches that people also thought of either favouritism or a case of match fixing.

I believe everything is possible and match fixing isn't an exception or something to writeoff from it , especially base on the fact that it involves money, there is always going to be a manipulation of the system somehow to try to make things work in the favor of the fixers, but how they organise or do it and it work m out if at all there's match fixing, this is a question that needs an answer, if someone has an idea of how it is done

I doubt if anyone can say about how match fixing works because before you say such you must have various evidence to support your claims and again you will also need to identify the match fixers of which no one will agree to match fixing because they will have a lot of questions to answer.
