The wallet miner will be single threaded you do know that?
OWNED Yet more mis-information: miner@miner-2:~/yacoin/src$ ./yacoind help setgenerate setgenerate <generate> [genproclimit] <generate> is true or false to turn generation on or off. Generation is limited to [genproclimit] processors, -1 is unlimited.
Are you already mining?
|
|
|
Soooo, is anybody already mining with the source that was posted a few pages back?
|
|
|
Lol @ all the people who want to run the binaries before anyone's seen the source code.
I'm gonna run the binaries in a VMware, don't worry.
|
|
|
Ok. Sorry for being late. We will start soon.
Here is my plan for next 1 or 2 hours: - post sources - write some comments in this topic - publish binaries
Can you publish the binaries first? Not everybody is able to compile the client themselves

Every 2,0s: ./yacoind getmininginfo Mon May 6 21:48:14 2013
{ "blocks" : 315, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.00025930, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false }
You compiled the source and already started mining? Not fair Who knows if it's the real blockchain, lol at this guy! Hope the OP uses a new genesis block, so everybody will start at the same time.

its disturbing how people are unable to read timestamps in this thread. Post was made at 7:52 yesterday, it's now 7:48. thats 23h and 56 minutes. 4 minutes to go.
Haha, agreed. Probably the suspense is too much for them to handle

24 hours isn't over yet. Relax guys!

Also Have two confirmed sales of BTB at current market value Prove us wrong. I have 6 BTB I can sell to you for 3 BTC each. That's a steal compared to your "market value". Wanna buy?
|
|
|
bter.com is considering BTB, wonder what happens are you sure ? Lets not hijack this thread. I used the word consider. How do you know they are considering it?

This was with the firewall disabled as a test. I'm assuming you are using 11.4 with just the networks.py files from the link I quoted earlier? Thank you very much for your help so far Yes im using 11.4 with the networks.py from the link, re the DNSLookupError, it can be resolved by some DNS Servers, but others not, e.g. my local ISP's DNS doesnt resolve it (no idea why!), try putting 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (Google Public DNS, it can resolve that adress) in your /etc/resolv.conf You need to update BOOTSTRAP_NODES in networks.py.. see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=192907.msg2035190#msg2035190Thank you! Finally managed to connect

I've taken the network parameters from the codebase you quoted, it should work fine. It connects to blastbobs network by default (bootstrap address p2pool.chnco.in pool01.chnco.in, I think thats him), some other P2Pool for CNC have chosen their own network (maybe using different codebase).
Check that port 12388 is allowed through the firewall, it should connect to other peers then.
Getting this error: 2013-05-05 15:14:29.149000 Joining p2pool network using port 12388... 2013-05-05 15:14:29.180000 > Unhandled Error 2013-05-05 15:14:29.180000 > Traceback (most recent call last): 2013-05-05 15:14:29.180000 > Failure: twisted.internet.error.DNSLookupError: DNS lookup failed: address 'p2pool.chnco.in' not found: [Errno 11001] getaddrinfo f ailed. 2013-05-05 15:14:29.212000 > Unhandled Error 2013-05-05 15:14:29.212000 > Traceback (most recent call last): 2013-05-05 15:14:29.212000 > Failure: twisted.internet.error.DNSLookupError: DNS lookup failed: address 'pool01.chnco.in' not found: [Errno 11001] getaddrinfo f ailed. How did you manage to connect to other p2pool nodes? I'm trying to run my own p2pool instance, but it won't connect to the p2pool network. I'm using this P2Pool fork: https://github.com/chrda/p2pool-chncoinWould you mind sharing your source code? Thank you very much in advance!

Gave them my 6 votes. Everyone here ought to do the same. Let's do this guys

Pool01 has the highest efficiency. Will that be my best choice, even though I'm from Europe?

In case anyone has missed it: this thread was referring to now old news. The latest news imply the opposite: coinlab has filed a lawsuit against Gox.Am I to take it that the OP prediction is now to be reversed? Not only this, but the elite circlejerk known as Bitcoin Foundation KNEW ABOUT THIS IN ADVANCE and are responsible for the recent unloading of coins in anticipation of the crash after this news. Insider trading at its finest. Proof? Edit: Nevermind, it's useless to ask you for proof. If you had kept your word in this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=173558.0You would have given the information that created the hash you posted, or you would have left the forums for good. You did neither.

My bitcoin address: 18MTENyYyo2cd6yrZ3Kz9uLfz6P4XTeg9T for proof that I have the funds.
That is not a proof. Anyone can pick some address out there and claim BTC on it are their own, LOL. Correct, he should use his private key to sign a message. That would be proof enough

Please keep the discussion of what needs to be changed, to what and why in this thread. I've always wanted to know how to modify P2Pool to support new coins

Is there any indication on the client running on "server mode"? I think I'm mining air.
I don't think you can even mine without the client being in server mode. What's your hashrate? Difficulty is way up, and I'm having trouble finding blocks with 1.2 MH/s. So high is the difficulty? I think i can drop mining with my 70kh/s. And what was the last reward? Last reward I received was around .30, but it's already way lower than that. Yeah, you won't be able to find any blocks with 70kh/s, unless you get really lucky. Difficulty is climbing very fast. I'm probably going to stop solo mining tomorrow as well. 1.2MH/s won't do it for Solo mining I'm afraid.
