103  Other / Off-topic / Re: Some Viruses are Bitcoin Miners on: November 09, 2014, 07:59:17 PM
How can't they notice there is something seriously wrong when you are infected with that? When your CPU is always busy doing something the CPU usage would show up as high in the taskbar revealing the miner executable. Its easy to see imo.
104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Operator of Silk Road 2.0, Blake Benthall, arrested yesterday by FBI agents in S on: November 09, 2014, 07:56:20 PM

I think it's unfair that the Amazon tribes get to trip balls on Ayahuasca erryday, they deserve to get busted too. I mean their tribe shaman is pretty much the local drug dealer, isn't it?

WTF is Ayahuasca?

It's like weed on steroids i've heard.
105  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is this what true happiness looks like? on: November 09, 2014, 07:54:39 PM
Happyness is buying a lot of bitcoin in 2010. Anyone got a time machine?
106  Other / Off-topic / Re: PayPal question on: November 09, 2014, 07:50:10 PM

107  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best ways to earn btc? on: November 09, 2014, 07:47:36 PM
There are different ways to earn.
- faucet bitcoin
- signature campaign
- mining
- gambling etc...

He's talking about earning. All of these aren't worth it. Your best shoot is working and buying BTC, unfortunately.
108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Video: What is BITCOIN ? All u need to know on: November 09, 2014, 07:31:36 PM
Who is the author of the video? it's clearly a re-upload from someone else.
109  Economy / Speculation / Re: There are ~1,500,000 more bitcoins now than there were last year on: November 09, 2014, 07:30:17 PM
But i hope we have more than 1.500.000 new users for bitcoin world in this year.
That will make bitcoin price still in good rate

That's a lot of new users in this forum as well. Can the server deal with such an influx of new people and posts??
110  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Easy is it to Coordinate Price Manipulation? on: November 09, 2014, 07:29:02 PM
It's really hard. I remember that wolong guy in IRC trying to cordinate price changes ant it ended up a mess. Unless it's a circle of whales that trust each other and act in constant cooperation, its really hard.
111  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 360$ on: November 09, 2014, 07:20:52 PM
Uptrend is clear.

Many traps happened in the last week. Sorry for those who sold , expect a 450 next week.

Here i say, here i sign this.

Wink

If we break 450$ during the next 2 weeks, shit will be soooo cash. You will see, because I have TA in my back pocket.

We will not, and if we do it will be a peak and downtrend will continue. We will see 1000 again, just not any time soon, this year is down year.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to purchase stocks with bitcoin on: November 09, 2014, 07:12:36 PM
Im not familiar with this, does bitshares has anything to do with this?
113  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has trading ruined the day for HODLERS? on: November 09, 2014, 07:07:27 PM
There are long term holders being scared shitless daily and pulling out their holdings via scary a series of panic sells. Too many panic sells together + actual daytraders make it seem as if it's all day traders fault, but a lot of holders are selling these days.
114  Economy / Economics / Re: How much did your salary increase over the past 5 years? on: November 09, 2014, 07:01:52 PM
About 10%.
115  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the must-read Rothbard's books ? on: November 09, 2014, 07:00:59 PM
I've only read Egalitarianism as a Revolt Against Nature.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: A Resource Based Economy on: November 09, 2014, 06:58:04 PM
I've been watching the Hong Kong protests, and those people are committed to libertarian ideals in a way that is profoundly needed and even heroic.  It's very moving, and also WEIRD, to hear a thousand voices singing "Do You Hear The People Sing" from Les Miserables, in Cantonese!  The personal risks and self-sacrifice they are undertaking for the sake of their libertarianism are just stunning.  In a lot of cases you can see the fear on their faces or hear it in their voices, but they are there anyway, even knowing that it means they'll get hunted down like dogs later, or at least blacklisted from every possible profession, if they fail to get international support. And maybe even if they do, since the Chinese government is kind of like that.

And then I look at the irrelevant, stupid greedy crap that American libertarians are worried about, and how most of it seems driven (or at least co-opted) specifically by corporate wealth and greed and complete disregard for the society and people around them. The contrast is like night and day.

So, what are the specific differences between those in Hong Kong and those in America? (Besides the difference in how dangerous the governments are in each place)

America has freedom, yes freedom, compared to China. These people have big balls and are feed up of the situation, they are taking a big risk.
117  Economy / Economics / Re: Currency Wars - the defining crisis of our time? on: October 23, 2014, 01:23:29 PM
Of course there is a currency wars, USD is fighting against CNY daily. EUR and USD are trying to not sink within this war. USD is still number as they can generate money out of thinair and this money will keep getting accepted and used worldwide.

Cryptos don't have a say on this unless people want to.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When explaining Bitcoin to someone, what are some key points to speak about? on: October 23, 2014, 12:06:07 PM
I personally tell them about the decentralized nature and the lack of a middle man in transactions. What would BCT recommend to grab attention?

The decentralized nature is it's biggest selling point. Sadly, though, many people are not that familiar with economics or how the fiat monetary system works so they're not that bothered by it.

They don't give a fuck. I've tried explaining Bitcoin's supossed selling points to the average folk and they only start paying attention by the time I mention it can increase in value and they can win money. Other than that, they don't care because they can do everything that is needed in dollar, and 99% of people aren't wealthy enough to care about diversifying it if we are selling Bitcoin as a storage of value. So unless it becomes widely accepted everywhere and becomes a cool thing to do to pay with Bitcoin and so on.. it's doomed.
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fractional Units on: October 23, 2014, 11:57:16 AM
We should talk in BTC to talk big amounts, bits for single digit dollar ammounts, satoshis for cents of dollars.
120  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is up 1,473% yearly on: October 22, 2014, 10:25:05 PM
Yeah, but every year it gets harder for BTC to reach one ATH. Personally I believe we will see a new ATH in 2016.
