Well, I had been out of work for a few years and jsut getting by with an old desktop and an old laptop.

What about on Linux? Ubuntu 12.04 LTS or Mint 15 Cinnamon? Its amazing that the drivers could matter that much. When I open Steam (the gaming platform) it has told me that there is a new driver (an experimental/beta one) available. When I try to download it it fails to install.

Maybe I should just install Wine just so I can get the drivers loaded

I have been cpu mining for a while. Now I finally have bought a MSI 7950 and plan on getting a second one soon. However, I am trying to get my mining software working, and more importantly, getting myself adapted to the mining software, so that when the second card is purchased I can be up and running just fine. However, there are some things that I am lost on after installing the card and firing up bfgminer.

1) My hashrate is very low. On my cpu I can get 100 kh/s. But the card is only producing 3 kh/s. From my understanding, I should be producing a couple hundred kh/s with a single card.

2) I pointed the miner at the Anoncoin mining pool anc.us.ir and bfgminer said that I had solved two blocks, produced 3 shares (all 3 rejected). Since I have been cpumining for over a year I have never solved a block, let alone at 3 kh/s. It had mentioned that the the difficulty did not match the target at the time of rejection

3) What are the settings I should be using for a single card on bfgminer?

4) Should I use cgminer or another miner?

4) Is there a bfgminer for dummies guide somewhere out there on the forums or elsewhere? I have seen some of the posts that help people but they do seem to be on a very specific topic and are definitely not for dummies like myself

I keep getting an interupted connection every few seconds on stratum. It reconnects but it is making it really hard to get shares with that happening so frequently

Does anyone know if Bottlecaps forked again? I sent a transaction to Cryptsy hours ago and it hasnt even popped up as a pending transaction. Usually it pops up as in incoming transaction within a few minutes

I love Gyft. I use them all the time. I take the earnings from BTCjam and other loans that I have given, use the profit to buy Amazon cards, and I have been building a new gaming/part time mining rig for a while now. We've seen this before. Remember Mining United? Another service that promises to increase your Bitcoins as long as you send them a deposit. After a short period of time they pay you back double or triple the amount you gave them.

I used Mining United for quite a few transactions. I made some BTC off of them. ANd I recommended them to everyone. Finally, my last transaction, which was my largest to date, was never returned to me. Mining United closed up shop and took everyone's BTC!

All of last night and most of this afternoon the pool did fine. Around 2pm (EST) I noticed block confirmation had stopped but shares were still being tallied fairly accurately. Then around 3pm (one hour ago) shares stopped tallying correctly and block confirmation is stuck

Whats the "cron task"? I dont know the pool programming lingo

Yeah its definitely stuck. My unpaid shares have been the same (and I believe the number is too low) for about 15 hours now. I ended up killing my miners and moving over to Bottlecaps and Diamonds until the pool comes back online. I hope its fixed soon because this pool really hums along nicely when its working

Whomever is responsible for the UFCCOIN really needs to change the black background. The logo can stay but the black background makes it too hard to read other things on the screen. Luckily its almost an exact copy of almost all of the other pools so I know what I am looking at. But for others this could be troublesome.

Coinmine.pl has the difficulty at 11,000. Is that correct?
