So I know a utility company that is interested in mining bitcoins when the price of power goes negative or is free.
They are starting w/basically zero knowledge, but they have limitless capital and energy to invest if the economics looks right.
Would such an investment be worth it? They may be interested in hiring someone (as a consultant) that could direct such a project if the projections look good.

I was thinking they could print these new notes with bitcoin private keys imbedded in each note to add some intrinsic value to the notes.

Just my opinion, but I think there's a market for usb's pre-loaded w gigabytes of organized content (movies,tv shows, software,...)
I think that's readily available everywhere where pirated dvd's and cd's are available. Digital Goods are items that doesn't need to be shipped physically and can be transferred online. I dunno, I see plenty of people selling bootleg dvds...but what about a usb w 1000 action movies?

http://192.95.23.50/I was developing a website that recorded tick data from btc-e and cryptsy and allowed user to easily download data. All the code is built to do this, however I no longer have the time to devote to this project. I've invested $1000s in development costs and this is basically a fire sale. Site+code is on server that cost $20/month, next bill is due 7/17. Open to any an all offers.

Peercoin is the only crypto-community that reminds me of bitcoin back in the old days.
It's innovative and the community really believe in the technology. Even the forum discussion are technical, not the usual "how much money are we gonna make? threads.
Peercoin will be the breakout coin of 2014 in my opinion.

Zuckerberg announces facecoin.
It's the only coin that is integratable with facebook.
Facecoin takes off and bitcoin collapses....Zuck becomes a trillionaire and the Winklerosses get screwed again.
Fantasy or possibility?

This is a neat idea if the details could be worked out.
Agreed, I know many blow this off as a pipe dream...but one has to think different to truly come up with something revolutionary.

Lol ahhh common...look I freely admit I havent a clue as to how it could work. But if you told me that a decentralized anonymous currency network could exist 10 years ago, I'm sure there would be more facepalms than the one in that picture.

You'd have to find something humans can do better than computers iteratively
I think one thing that a computer might not be able to do but might be easily verifiable by a computer is detect "human randomness"

Also from a social perspective such a design will cause people that work on physical jobs, and usually belong to lower-middle class, to catch up easier with the rest. I mean a doctor will charge more of course for his services but a worker will have a larger return from mining That's why it would be so revolutionary, can you imagine a system in which physical labor jobs actually pays more than white collar desk jobs?

That's what I was thinking, like maybe it give new gps coordinates based on your location and each gps coordinate is a random guess to some algorithm that statistically matches some number in the network x% of the time.

+1 for FitCoin
I love that name!

oh! its simple, its called selling stuff you made, for some other stuff someone other made that you considered of equal value.
It have exists is the last tens of thousand years, and probably before that too.
Aside from the sarcasm, that doesn't address the question of whether or not it's possible to create a human only minable cryptocoin?
