101  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: want to mine 1 btc in a month by mining on: April 16, 2017, 12:43:09 AM
i have known about bitcoin since year 2012, but i never did mining until now because i dont have knowledge about technical in mining and also the main considering is the cost of hardware of mining, but i want to try to mine btc and have a target to make 1 btc in a month.
my question is :
1. what hardware i need to create a mining rig ?
2. how much its cost ?
3. what the minimum hashrate to produce 1 btc in a month by mining?
thank you

At the current difficulty levels, to be mining 1 BTC per month you'll need around 66 TH/s.
For that, you're going to need 5 antminer S9s which would come to $10,500
Of course you will have to also include electricity costs and contribution to initial cost in your earning per month too...

If that seems a bit high I think you should lower your aspirations a little Wink
thank you very much for your info, that to produce 1 btc in a month i need around 66 TH/s and cost of buying hardware of 5 antminer S9to need  $10,500 ..wowww it is very surpricing for me and it is very expensive for me.

you need to look at the roi time, with the current value of bitcoin, investing 10k is not that bad, because you are looking for 10 months, roi which is standard in crypto

if you factor that bitcoin can go to 2k this year it look even better, but thee diff will increase long before that making the possible increase of the value kinda pointless

if you can afford those antminer, a good strategy would be to mine until 66% of roi and then sell the asic, they should retain a good price in 6-7 months
okey, i want to ask you, if i buy a piece Antminer S9 does it will produce a consistent amount of btc everyday base on the Hashrate production of that antminer s9 . i have calculated using alloscom bitcoin mining calculator that a piece of antminer s9 with 14 TH/s in todays difficuly will produce about 0.006759 BTC everyday, my question is do a piece of antminer s9 will produce 0.006759 btc everyday for me?

You don't need so much if you want to mine other crypto and trade it to BTC, which many people already do so here. A cheap CPU with a LGA 1150 mobo and 2-4 gigs of ram as well as a few RX 470s costs less than a S9 and it makes you more money. It's largely the reason why there's much less mining discussion about bitcoin these days.
thank you for your suggention, altcoint will be my consideration

I wish i could be of more help here, but I never really got into mining either.

However, if it helps I can tell you that to mine 1 BTC/month, you will need a quite large initial capital to buy hardware for. I also imagine it requires a designated location, since you would need more power than i think most people can endure living with in their private home.

The latter is not true for cloud mining, of course. Smiley

I wish you good luck in your mining endeavors Sir.
thank you for info sir, for mining place i have a building separetely from my home.

yeah but pos is very low, 0.002 per day is nothing at all but maybe the value will be very high? who know

Waiting dev update the roadmap Grin

dev could easily add this to novaexchange, i see they add many coin for free, i'm sure picoin can be added also
We are currently working on a roadmap, but it's not finished yet.

so whats the latest news on picoin? i want to find out where i can buy some

We are not on an exchange yet and we are also not in a big hurry.  Maybe we can bypass smaller exchanges and get added on a "mid based" exchange. But that's not clear yet.
 Question on the explorer.picoin.club:

General update:
I will start answering questions now, shareholderlist will be updated this evening.
As you might have noticed there are many addresses with quite a big amount of PI on it. I am not 100% sure if this is working ring signature or a bug on the explorer. Is there anybody with experience on blockexplorers? Maybe someone can confirm it's working ring signature or bug on the explorer? I also noticed that the explorer got stuck, i am updateing the index now.

We have a nice new community created signature, thank you cvasy! Signature is uses many characters, so it might be only working for sr.member+
Check it out, it's realy looking nice:

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CAPT] CAPTcoin on: March 31, 2017, 01:39:00 AM
I think you maybe some of you have self forked from staking too many inputs too quickly at one time or staking before the blockchain had completely downloaded into your client.
Can you give me you deposit address and i can send 1 CAPT to it and you can report back if you get it or not.

My wallet shows number of blocks 1786150, last block 00:45 UTC Tue 28 March ( about 30 mins ago)

If redownloading the chain entirely from network, i was able to get around the 500 blocks with a bat file that closes and restarts the wallet every 10 minutes.  You can also close the connections to peers while the wallet is open, it will reconnect and continue downloading but i don't know a way to automate this, but it would work faster this way without having to restart the wallet if you a have a way to do this.   When you get to less then 10000 blocks its easier to just close the connections manually and at some point after 5000 blocks it will no longer stop after every 500 blocks and will continue to the most recent block.

Send me your CAPT address, I'll try to send you a bit of CAPTs.. Can you send me a bat file that can restart the wallet every 10 minutes?
If your blockchain is not synced then you cannot send or stake CAPT if you try to do that might be why your having problems with it.

my CAPT wallet getpeerinfo show this and the blockheight 1786229 matches yobit currently, so if i deposit there it should arrive in their wallet within the day (only a few wallets staking so will not be instant)

If the blocks is alot less then this number then it means the blockchain is not completely downloaded and should not try to spend or stake coins until it is.

Code:
"version" : "v1.5.0.0",
"protocolversion" : 60007,
"walletversion" : 60000,

"blocks" : 1786229,
"moneysupply" : 20481952.38815700,
"connections" : 5,

"difficulty" : 0.00024414,
"testnet" : false,

"errors" : "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers."
}

About some of the info
The checkpoint error can be ignored, its because the dev has not updated the wallet with new checkpoints.  This error shows in alot of old coins and does prevent using or syncing. (But syncing is meant to be faster if an updated wallet with new checkpoints for blocks is released)

Also moneysupply is not "20481952.38815700," as 16926990.192505 were burned after the distribution.
BannedSeller posted here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=683776.msg12927291;topicseen#msg12927291
I have marked your questions 1-4 and I'll answer them one by one to you. (I'm an expert in CAPTcoin as I have joined the initial distribution a year ago)

1. Go to http://yobit.net/en/coinsinfo, search 'CAPT' in the search box, and check the Moneysupply. Then deduct 16926990.192505 from that number (which is burnt from initial distribution). Alternatively you can check http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/captcoin/ , they have the number calculated, however it is corrected to the nearest integer.

2. In about 12-14 years, provided that no coin age is loss due to lost wallets/transactions. Actually I think it would take more than 20 years.

3. The standard fee is 0.00001 per KB, however some exchanges pay more (e.g. yobit pays 0.002). The fees are burnt instead of giving to the miner (staker).

4. Transaction fees will be the reward, otherwise it will be 0 reward.

so needs to deduct "16926990.192505" from that number to get the current real supply.
so 20481952.38815700-16926990.192505 = 3554962.195652 CAPT

Why my wallet stuck om 1781561 blocks since 3 days ayo, bos to solve it, could you help me ?

I think there are 2 separate chains.. How download the right one?
so what is that mean? today i tried again send 2 capt to yobit in my desktop capt wallet is sent and confirmed but there is no any amount received on captcoin yobit wallet deposit? what i have to do now?
I'm trying to redownload te entire chain, but it's so slow..
Does it is mean that nothing ke wrong on yobit when I sent capt to yobit from my wallet but never received there, the point is that there is something wrong to captcoin blockchain, am I right?

114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Noob Q: Can bitcoin be turned into POS? on: March 27, 2017, 09:29:02 AM
Hi guys.
Plz don't kill me for asking.

I see a lot of hype around alt-coins.
When asked, many will point out POS as a plus vs bitcoin.

I was wondering:

1. Can Bitcoin change to POS if wanted to by the community?
2. Is POS really an advantage (if it is - is it an advantage because it saves energy, or because it diffuses power)?

Thank you!
my question :
1. is it posible to change bitcoin to POS ?
2. who will do for its change?
3. who will be a decision maker to do that and after that who will make a decision about the rate percentage of POS per year?

i want to sell 50000 captcoin, i need money soon, does anyboy here want to buy my captcoin to help me ?

I would rather sell them on exchanges and help improve the current market condition of captcoin. The list of exchange available can be found in the OP.
Let me explain first, before I have bought capt bh trading on yobit and then sent my capt on yobit to my desktop wallet , in the withdraw page om yobit transaction Success but the capt never received on my wallet desktop.
And then several daya later I want to sell about 1000 capt on yobit, I sent 1000 capt from my desktop wallet to yobit, transaction Success and got 168 confirmation , but my capt I sent to yobit  never received on my deposit wallet captcoin Address on yobit.
I also have sent ticket support to yobit about what happen to ke, and yesterday they replied anda saking for tx id , I sent the tx id , but untill now they never replied again anymore.
I really disapointed

i fix the fault pool hashrate ASAP.
stratum and shares works fine.
thx

http://pi.8pool.dtdns.net

I'm all for people getting compensated for the work they do, and I appreciate the effort that you went to to make a pool available to us lowly miners who don't know how to run our own, but you might consider removing the mandatory 1.5% pool fee until you have everything working properly.

That being said, I've been on there a few hours now and there seems to be no problems with the mining itself... blocks are being found, hashes are being accepted, and payouts are working.

The only issue that I can see is that hashrates are misrepresented in the interface, but it does not seem to be affecting mining.

I dont think 1.5% is very much but I do agree it should be stable before they ask for fees. Is it a currency worth mining though ?

Well we hope so Smiley We just launched today so i might tike a while untill we hit on an exchange, but i already contacted two smaller exchanges.

Regarding the shareholders:
Please sent your PI address to picoinsupport or me. We will put them on a private list so the addresses of all users are NOT public.
We want to give the "not so active people" on the forum the chance to see, that we are now launched. After some days we will announce that first shareholderlist payout will be ready on the next day. But don't worry, even if the first payout is not comeing tomorrow: All your free PI from the signaturecampaign will be credited since today. So you wont loose any free PI Smiley

I will compile the linux GUI wallet now. I will compile and test it on ubuntu 14.04 64bit. It should then also be working on other linux distrubutions. Compileing might be finished withing the next hour.

Regaring the antivirus: Please check this link here and/or upload the windows picoin-qt.exe by urself and let it be rescanned.
https://virustotal.com/de/file/61c46ccc11d0f71e7ed81932b1eca93fa93289605170c71f7a36870061711d17/analysis/

There is no virus and only 1 of 61 antivirus are flagging it as a bitcoin miner. But i understand your concern Smiley I would recommend you to always upload new wallets you download to virustotal.com for being safe as it uses more than 60 antivirus to check the uploaded file Smiley

PMs
I have received many PMs with your PI addresses. Even if i did not answer any PM this time (realy many PMs Wink ) i was reading it and your address will be put on the private list.
thank you for your response dev..
