Greencoin is alive at our pool! BitcoinPOOL.US 2% Fee Rapid Payments
coolindark: GreenCoin is 100% PoS. The PoW algo returns no coin reward (only the staking returns coins).

Rebuilt my database and resnt some coins.
Now have 1.11M GRE sitting somewhere with 0 confirmations.
Any ideas on how to recover or is the coin now so far 'up shit creek' there is no go back nor recovery?
from the menu select click 'Help' then choose 'Debug Window' then on the console tab type 'repairwallet' and press enter 15:47:10 repairwallet 15:47:12 { "mismatched spent coins" : 9, "amount affected by repair" : 1121715.15471193 } Didn't fix anything just told me how many coins are in limbo There's been significant network issues that began on 5/15. For awhile I could not connect to the network with any wallets AT ALL, even the Foundation wallet. Last night I was able to connect a wallet. It is now on the same block as the block explorer: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gre/Do a "getinfo" (or "getblockcount") and see what block you're on. I think GRE was forking all over the place the last couple of days and this is the chain you want to be on. If you're off, you need to download the blockchain again: - make sure the client is closed
- delete everything in the %APPDATA% folder EXCEPT your wallet and the greencoinv2.conf (for windows, go to the Start menu, type "%APPDATA%" [without the quotes], then go into "GreenCoinV2"). If you delete greencoinv2.conf as well you can create a new one for staking (instructions in the OP)
- Re-open the client
- If the wallet finds peers it should re-download the blockchain. This will take awhile.
On linux the folder of interest is in: Home -> .greencoinv2 (if you are using Ubuntu's folder explorer, hit "Ctrl-H" to see hidden folders)

we've officially forked and I'm not sure what to do at this point.

I contacted a dev who said he thinks there's an error: There are a few different things, narrowing it down would be very time consuming, but your "nModifierInterval" being 1 is a bit strange because it makes staking seemingly impossible in theory (1 second is quicker than network propagation), so the modifier would be changing quicker than the network can even communicate which could result in staking causing you to be temporarily banned and disconnecting from all other nodes. So one theory is the network may have actually worked well with a small group that had a couple of big stakers and then perhaps when yobit listed us, a bunch of nodes come online and the error begins to manifest itself.

Greencoind adminers,

I just had one sent at 10 AM local post at 4 PM. Go to the BE and make sure your on the same block #: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/gre/If not you might be off on your own chain and need to roll it back

Hello GreenCoiners, I can't really explain what's going on with GreenCoin right now but there's been some odd staking and communication activity going on that started on May 15th. My windows wallet will suddenly stop communicating with the network, something I'm calling a "drop-out" issue. The wallet will be open and staking (and continue to indicate in the "lightning bolt" that everything is fine) when it will simply stop finding blocks and not restart again (so it's not just a probability thing). I know another guy who's been having this problem too. Since our coins represent a lot of the staking total, it causes issues such as large lapses in block time while the difficulty readjusts to match the huge change in the staking total. The problem can be fixed by closing the wallet and re-opening it so this must reset some communication protocol. However, after an unknown amount of time the wallet drops out again and I don't know why. The difficulty graph shows the result of the problem. It is also a security concern because the coin could fork when the coin total drops to something very low like 25M. It may be sort of "micro-forking" already. As an example I was running a smaller wallet just now and noticed it could only find 1 peer and was on block 95240 while the block explorer was on 95232 (and the new blocks on my chain returned no matches in the block explorer when searching the txid). I've had this problem a couple of other times as well, so it is not a single instance. This is much more of a concern. It may also explain why cjmoles had a tx that didn't ever show up. I've asked the coin dev (Ahmed) to look into it but he is heads down on something else right now and we'll see if he can get to it later. In the meantime I wanted to point out the problem and see if folks have suggestions on the subject matter I'd appreciate the discussion and feedback.

hey Cool - GreenCoin is now 100% PoS Wallet still has PoW support with current diff 0.001-ish.... Yes, but it has zero coin reward.

OK, will do thanks. I contacted yobit as well but my support ticket has been sitting there for a month

GreenCoin will be soon. We are working on a web 2.0 release and then hoping for taking off as a carbon emission offset credit.

Hard to tell, but there are a couple out there with some real interesting stuff going on right now.
like GreenCoin.

My wallet total on the Dashboard is different than the Transaction total.
The transaction tab total is correct. The Dashboard is +500 or so over. I've closed the wallet and re-opened it (it was +1000 before closing and now at the 500 level). Anyone else experienced this or know what might be wrong?

Bounty for making the coin look "coinish" ( e.g.) perhaps the latin phrasing (above) adds some colorfulness. Gridcoin's compartmentalized look is interesting: could have solar, wind, plants, CO2 molecule, (etc) compartments. Do you have a timeframe for creativeness to be completed? it's open ended at this point. There is a new gentleman helping with the web. We don't have a timeline yet but upgrades in are in process. I'm hopeful for a few weeks.

Will a linux PoS wallet be available? Looking to install onto my NAS for 24/7 uptime bliss.
we don't have a linux wallet available yet. You could try compiling from the source code.
