101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man won 12 times in lottery on: August 06, 2019, 10:39:53 AM
You maybe wrong here. Lottery is not about the predictions. Betting is used for the predictions. Lottery means that you take part in it with certain amount and if your name is chosen you will win big amount else you will lose your investment.
I wouldn't call that investment, besides bets are just money that seems like tokens on some arcades and then the winnings are just some compensations. Investments have risks but not like on gambling where risks are extremely in chances.
If one would call betting in lottery is a form of investment, he needs some reality check because chances of winning in a lottery is almost zero, or less than 1%. Maybe if you are the one operating a lottery, that's what you called yourself investing in.

Lol. I don't even think lotteries should be in the same discussion as investments 😁 any sensible person would know there's a world of difference there. And it's almost impossible for someone to win major lotteries once, what are the possibilities of winning multiple times? I've heard stories back in the days of how lotteries can be rigged through magnets inside the lottery balls. I'm not so sure how that can work now.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the best gambling games originally from Asia? on: August 06, 2019, 10:20:07 AM
There are classic games but not really the best games like horse racing game, cock-fighting, ending and Carnaval games which involve also money that are still being played till today but of course there are also casinos which wealthy gamblers prefer to go to.

Carnival games are a popular game especially to towns or barangays that is having their fiestas. Most of the time, here in our province, weeks before our fiesta start, trucks will be arriving in our barangay and setup a place where they can place this games so people would go there every night, games like the cube, the roulette, the spin wheel, that is great games with not that big of a price but it is fun.
They almost forgot now the gambling that bases on cards, or in tiles game like mahjong. The most common is cockfighting, carnival games, and lottery gambling since this is very tempted to buy tickets if the jackpot prize is a quite big amount and make you a quick rich. Olds games are now slowly forgotten by the people because we are in the modern generation which is all people had a gadget and internet. Online casino is still a good place to go.

Well i'm pretty sure online casinos didn't originate i asia. There's a local filipino card game called tongits that i think will easily click with the rest of the gambling world given the chance. Pretty simple mechanics though i'm not sure how it will be implemented once big casinos make it available in their platforms. Also there's pusoy dos who's card heirarchy is similar to poker that can also make time pass really quick once you're playing.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 06, 2019, 10:14:32 AM
If I were him I would surrender into being too much of a hard headed. You want to be a star again, then prove it. For now, better put your heads down and try to make up for the time that you loss.
I hope he has that kind of attitude and his lay off time was enough for him to realize what's good for him.
If he will be able to play with Lebron, I think they will do better but he should understand that when Lebron is in the team, he is the boss.
There are still some players who are rooting and believing in Carmelo Anthony. Remember that Carmelo Anthony is also best friend of Lebron James, you think guys Los Angeles Lakers can able to get Carmelo Anthony?
Even on this article: Lakers News: Kyle Kuzma Thinks Carmelo Anthony ‘Should Be On A Team’ For 2019-20 NBA Season. Even Kyle Kuzma still believing on Carmelo Anthony that he should be in the team for 2019-2019 NBA Season. Carmelo Anthony is one of the best players also, I know there is still some left on Carmelo Anthony.
Maybe tomorrow we will see some news about him signing with in a team, and well hopefully it will be Lakers so the excitement in the next season will start. If it will be realize he will be signing with the Lakers, I don't think he will be a starter as him and Lebron has the same position in the court.

There's no question about his scoring ability. The guy can score. But he seem to be dragging any team he's on down. Doesn't matter if he's got good teammates. Its probably attitude. Of course he's likely in the top 20 to 30 scorers today but team would expect leadership fron someone who takes a lot of shots. He just isn't doing that. And time's running out for melo, i think.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best solution to handle gambling addition, in a country. on: August 06, 2019, 10:07:38 AM
Considering the gambling addiction ratio in a country is increasing rapidly, what are the best possible solutions the citizens or government of that nation can implement to deal with the problem. Before you jump right into suggesting, the government should ban/tag gambling related activities as illegal in the country, you should understand that running away from a problem don't actually solve that problem. Beside proposing a ban on gambling only encourages the citizens of that nation to gamble illegally.

Don't ban them for christs sake. Make money out of them. They're probably used to throwing away large amounts of money anyways. Tax them higher. As professor hulk says, its a win win situation. Casinos would now have to increase fees and gamblers would have to also adjust. You can't really control people's wants and needs to gamble, so make it a little difficult and inconvenient for them with high fees. Plus you add considerable amount to your government's funds.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Maximum bet amount on single bet! on: August 05, 2019, 08:45:22 AM
I think this forum has lot of regular gambler so I am interested to know how much they ever spend as highest bet amount in very single bet.

I remember betting a $100 on a game way back in 2015. Maybe this is a little amount compared to those who are an avid fan of gambling but its the most i can place on a single bet. Its just so happen that i won several times and already won big so this money was my last bet before i go home. I win after. Smiley
$50 is the largest amount I do limit and will always spend in playing. This does not mean that I do no have cash to play but there are better things the money can go into and moreover, I believe its not about the amount but about the skills in playing. I could play with $50 and win back almost same amount while another player plays with 1 BTC and loses it all. At the end of the game, it is the player that play with little money and wins back that would be considered a winner; this is where wisdom is very important in gambling.

About last month I remember betting on a soccer site with about $40, it was really small compared to the caliber of players I met, but my joy was that I won back  double of my money and I have no regrets.

I remember better 100$ on the pac vs mayweather fight lol. Biggest bet i've ever made on any gambling platform. And biggest loss as well. The odds were considerably in mayweather's favor weeks and days before the fight so i figured if pacman can defeat floyd, that would be a win-win situation for me. The closer fight night comes, the smaller the gap between odds become. The night before the fight, the odds are actually almost even with just a slight + for pacman.
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippine Basketball Association FINALS Discussion on: August 05, 2019, 08:38:59 AM
What a game 1 beat down. SMB started really well which is unusual because they are known to start slow. I don't know if it's just me but they got lazy in defense and in controlling the board. Well done to TNT.
I don't think that they got lazy on the defensive end, it's just that the Katropa's design play click, those kick out pass for a triple and the two man game between Jones and Rosario really did damage on the SMB. If half of those 3's did not go in, SMB would still be in the game but unfortunately the TNT was raining 3's on them. Just as i have said earlier that game 2 would be physical to distract the focal point of the TNT's offense which is Jones.

Well if you base it on previous finals performances, one can be sure that SMB will bounce back. I agree that controlling jones would be essential for the beermen to win but their locals also must need to step up. So far, TnT's locals are playing exceptionallu well even before the finals started. I still think smb has the advantage though but that depends on whether junemar and company will step up to match their tnt counterparts.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I don’t share Strategies anymore? on: August 02, 2019, 08:57:00 AM
My take on this is it is still good to share strategies. As you said, strategies are not perfect and will not work 100%. That is why it should be shared. More gamblers using a strategy, the more chance it has to be improved. Whenever I came across some strategies, I use it and look for ways to make it better or at least make it fit with my style of gambling. It is not comparable to creating my own strategy thru my own experience but it is good experience gambling and tweaking strategies to fit my own.

It can vary from one person to another though. What works for you may not work for the one you're sharing your strategies with. I mean, i understand your point but on a personal note, i don't really get much from other people's strategy amd most of mine that i share with others don't really help them as well. Well, in terms of gambling at least 😁
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: August 02, 2019, 08:30:20 AM
I think Manny is unconsciously preparing for their rematch, he is getting more new boxers with good credential so he can eclipse his losses to Mayweather, and it's only a matter of time before Mayweather agreed to fight Manny, because he must prove that his win is not a fluke.

Two old fighters past their prime. If they agree to it, only their names and reputation would sell the fight. I don't think there's going to be any difference in the outcome. No boxer today can outsmart and get around mayweather's style. If pacquiao loses again, which is likely what's going to happen, people will call out mayweather not fighting and running. It's his style. It's effective and it made him a record holder without any losses. People don't want to see a boring fight yet they push for a rematch with a super efficient boxer with a boring style.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is better Government run Lottery or private run Lottery on: August 02, 2019, 08:25:36 AM
Not sure about how government lotteries are run and paid out but I remember having a chat with someone and was told you don't get paid the full amount when you win...I could be miss informed but it makes sense to withhold the cash but hey private lotteries are better because you certainly get your winnings without any external factors being considered.
Government lottery are tax free and I don't think they will not release your whole winnings, maybe you are referring to private lottery and I think with that, they violated the law. Government are safer than private as we can ensure that the government has enough funds to pay the winner/s.

It's not tax free. Or it probably depends on which government we're talking about. Of course the state would tax the winners and i'm sure they don't really get all of the amount they won. If we're talking about philippine lottery, i'm sure it's taxed. Try googling it. Though when it comes to private vs state run lotteries, i'd prefer the latter. It's too easy to get scammed by unregulated private lotteries.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: August 01, 2019, 12:58:35 PM
Ok guys I just has this thought last night. I was watching Zion W. highlights in youtube and I was amazed by this kid, he was also a freak in nature. So this lead me to question the NBA fans here.

Which do you think is more gifted overall? The Greek Freak - Giannis or Zion who even though is too heavy at 285 lbs but can freely move around, jumps so high for a dunk and even a block and very very agile for his frame?

We will never know unless Zion play with the big boys. The NBA is very different from college basketball, we have seen a lot of high potential picks in the previous years that went bust when they enter the league.

I remember Darius Miles, very athletic in his college days, dunking on everyone, however, when he enter the league, he still have the same game, but we all know that you can't just jump over any players in the NBA, it's not that sustainable and you need to developed.

So we need to see how Zion's body will react to the 80++ games in the NBA and see if he can still maintain that athleticism.

Yeah you can't really compare the reigning mvp to someone, though obviously gifted, that hasn't been tried before. The summer league is a hell lot different from the actual season. The highlights you're seeing in youtube is against boys compared to the actual competition when the likes of kawhi or pat beverly is in his face.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here have some strategy to gain money, but with low profits daily? on: August 01, 2019, 11:53:50 AM
Some example, you deposit 100 USD, you use martingale method to gain at least 1 dollar (1%) and you stop, and do the same the day after

This is just a random example I made right now, but I want to see if there's someone who try to use a strategy to gain very small profits daily instead of trying with big bets

And guys, I know there's no 100% strategy, it's just curiosity

I am not a regular gambler who gambles everyday but on every games i play, i had this particular strategy in order to go home with a money iny pocket. This strategy makes you earn surely on every game night.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098112.msg49260152#msg49260152

Your luck with 100 dollars can only go so far for martingale. Surely there will be a day when you'll use up that amount without even gaining your target 1%. And a lot of gamblers lose their patience when things aren't going as planned. Probably will work for some, but not for majority who'll try it.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling affect your overall lifestyle? on: August 01, 2019, 08:54:08 AM
What about before when you were a noob on the gambling world ? All of us will be addicted on it for the first time but eventually it will past out  . your also playing on sports , sports based gambling were enjoyable and profitable than casino ones but its strange why it didnt affect any of your lifestyle .
Even when I was a beginner I never had such addictions. I used to go for 2-3 months without gambling when I was busy and then when I got bored I bet on sports every day of the week. As easy as I started it I also ended it.

Yeah, most of the time it doesn't cross my mind even when i'm bored. I guess gambling roots itself on just certain kind of people, not everyone. And though we can say that many people are putting gambling high in their priorities, not all of them are willing to compromise the more important things like family and career.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Career on: August 01, 2019, 08:34:19 AM
I enjoy poker because I win all the time l can save everyday for the future of my kids just to have their needs for school. Its really a big help to me fir the needs of my kids This is better than expecting of nothing.

Good for you because you win all the time . with that skill i could say that you are already an expert in playing poker games  . whats gooder is that you know how to spend ypur winnings  . your spending it for your family to give them a better future .  i hope that you will sustain that good dead of yours and you wont be distract or tempted to do bad stuffs , like what other pro gamblers have ended .

Nah. I'm not buying that. Even professional poker players won't claim to be winning all the time. Usually profits come from sponsors and not from consistent winning. It's hard to connect playing poker with thinking about saving for your kids. Kinda contradicting for me. There are likely just a small amount of people good enough to make money to save for the future.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: if you want to win big...accept defeat on: August 01, 2019, 08:28:17 AM
I don't want to get addicted into gambling.
You won't if you stick with your strategy, however, like I said, spending small amount is not fun at all

It is not going to work out like that

If one is predisposed to addiction (and I think there's not a lot of difference among numerous types of addiction, psychologically), the best a potential addict can do is to simply stay away from gambling altogether. He won't be able to stick to this strategy of small bets just because he doesn't have it in him (so it's better not to risk it). On the other hand, if one can keep on playing using small amounts for some time, he can as well bet larger sums as the risk of developing or contracting an addiction will be minimal

Lol. Let's not kid ourselves. Very few people can consistently bet with small amounts. The more you make bets, the more you'll be compelled to up your wagers. That's how gambling works even before addiction sets in. The fact that you're already gambling on a vonsustent basis, even with little amount, means you're not having an easy time avoiding the act itself.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 18, 2019, 12:44:24 PM
Wow Jalen thinks the Warriors will sink to the 7th spot after years of dominating the western conference.  I predicting the Lakers to finish in first, Lebron will have a strong fire burning after missing the playoffs last year and he got to rest after so many deep playoff runs year after year.

I favor the list of Jalen. He is right that Lebron is already old and may probably rest more and not play all 82 games. He cannot play like he played in Cavs where he plays 40-minute games without injury. Even if he stays healthy, the team will rest them to stay healthy for the playoffs.

But I believe nuggets will be the top seed for the west because they are younger and have more chemistry than HOU.

Even most young healthy players don't play all 82 games anymore.  This is a different era of the NBA and it is much more critical to be rested and healthy in the playoffs instead of trying to grind out homecourt advantage.
In the 2004-2005 season Lebron led the league with 42.4 mpg and in 2017-2018 he led the league with 36.9 so you can see the play time dropping for league leaders.

Any other people here agree that houston  will be the top seed in the west this year? Does the addition of westbrook boost their bid that much? I doubt. I've got at least the clippers, the lakers and the warriors above the rockets this year. And pelicans over san antonio? Or the blazers? The hype on williamso, ball ingram and company are real. Goodluck if they even manage to reach the playoffs this year.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever looked at how much you have wagered with a hanging mouth? :P on: July 18, 2019, 08:52:07 AM
Lol. I don't think you're alone in that anyway. Mosy gamblers don't really think about how much they're playing with. It's when they look back that they'll realize it's serious amount already. I don't think you're regretting it that much though. It's over and done with and you lost a pretty good amount that's probably enough to set up a small business or other good investments. All you can fo is to look ahead and take lessons from that.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What 🛠are the advantages 🔝of playing poker💵 on: July 18, 2019, 05:33:28 AM
it depends on how serious you are
the best thing to do for now is to keep checking youtube channels for strategies , theories and some hand reviews
gripsed channel on youtube used to be great but I haven't checked it since a long time so I don't know if the content still that good

if your bankroll is good enough to afford a tracker then buying holdem manger or poker tracker can give you a lot of info about your opponents
strategy depends on the game that you are playing since there is no single working strategy
I would say playing more is the only way to get better , but make sure you are playing within your bankroll limits so the experience won't cost you a lot

I stopped playing poker like 2 years ago but if you need any help just let me know

hope I understood your topic correctly cause not sure if you are asking about the advantage of playing this game or what players should do in order to have an advantage over the other players
There are many tutorials in playing poker. In fact, I am one of the people that learned poker for only watching in tutorials. I like the way people play poker specially if they have guys with their bets or they just want to bluff people around them. That is why poker is my favourite game in any gambling site. That is also the first thing that I am searching in a new gambling casino.

It's not really that hard to learn the basics for poker anyway since it's enjoyable like playing any other competitive games. Unlike most gambling games that you just put your hopes up in the air. And being efficient in poker also can make you more composed and relaxed in real life. For me at least,  it taught me to be more calculative when making decisions. I think poker does that. Experienced poker players tend to be more critical minded once they get used to applying what they learn in the game.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think a "winning mindset" can get you what you want while gambling? on: July 17, 2019, 09:39:25 PM
[snip]
I think this mindset is all about attracting positive things on you. Like what they say in Law of Attraction, positive thoughts attract positive experience. So having a positive mindset attracts good luck into the player. Since gambling is all about luck, it is just right to have a positive mindset before gambling.
In my opinion, there is no such thing like attracting luck (that's why I don't believe on lucky charms or feng shui). Luck is an uncertainty, if it happens it happens. That's it! When you are having a positive mindset, you do not attract luck but convince yourself that you will win this time. It helps you to boost your confidence which later on increase the hope you have right now.

I don't think law of attraction applies to gambling at all. I agree that at best, it's a confidence booster. But you don't want to be all too cocky when it comes to gambling as the more you're sure you can win, the more prone you are to losing a lot. Thinking that you have a better chance than others doesn't attract luck the way positive thinkers atttact good results.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pacquiao Now Stands as Favorite vs Thurman — Sportsbooks on: July 17, 2019, 07:58:54 AM
Keith Thurman is confident he can "figure out" Manny Pacquiao-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiKI5kiqca8

Thurman Versus Pacquiao: Can Thurman Turn The Odds And Knock Pacquiao Out?-
https://www.ibtimes.com/thurman-versus-pacquiao-can-thurman-turn-odds-knock-pacquiao-out-2806676
It's easy to say than doing it,  boxers have a lots of time reviewing their opponents style and to keep finding good style to take the edge of winning but from that point the opposing party also taking its time to find ways to counter the possibilities, new sets of combinations and new sets of training practices, it will be a good match seeing both fighters to be aggressive to win this match.

Yeah, but normally boxers target the weak habits of their opponents. those habits are hard to change. As the fight goes longer habits will come out. Just like how pacquaio throws knockout punches leading with his head. That is how Marquez koed him. When he went for the kill, he leaned forward with his head open. Marquez countered him. Thurman can study pacquiao and find  habits he can exploit as well.

Marquez was an expert counter puncher. That was his game. We have seen how he proved to be the best on it during his early fights with Manny Pacquiao. He was so convinced of his counter punching with their previous fights that he didn't believe to have lost to Manny even once. Well, the KO of Manny from Marquez was the latter's best counter punch in all their fights. Manny was faking a punch and Marquez caught him with a deadly blow.

And you also have to consider that that ko was in their 4th fight. So marquez actually had the luxury of figuring out pacquaio 4 times. Something that thurman doesn't have. Though the kid is skilled and pacquiao's age is something he canntake advantage of, manny's experience would probably be enough to secure him a win. The problem is, this will only push the guy to continue fighting despite his age. A loss, i think, would be beneficial since he may have to consider retiring then.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: July 17, 2019, 07:49:06 AM
Its too early to predict right now but one thing is for sure for me, if this duo will sync the whole season they can be a NBA Finals contender.

They are very close last season, but this season there's a lot of teams to beat in the West, they need to beat the Warriors, Clippers, and the Lakers if they want to be in the finals and if they can do that, I think it's almost guaranteed that they will have the NBA championship.
Warriors doesn't have Kevin Durant and Iguodala anymore but I don't think that they became weaker just because of that.
They still have the shot to take back their glory for this season but what's interesting now, everyone seems to increase their strength through trades and adding more superstars.
But they still have the original splash brothers, Warriors with steve kerr coaching is a very good team, probably still a team to beat.
I just hope this time they will be fully healthy and the new addition which is D'Angelo Russell would grow in the Warriors team.
They are an experience team with young players, I can't doubt their potential.
That's their edge, they have the experience with many finals game and I don't think that they became dry now with the transfers that were against them.
Yes, they still have Coach Kerr and other notable players which built up the original Warriors team. Still a team to watch for but the feeling would be different now because we used to watch the team with KD.
A lot of people hate the Warriors when they build a super team with Durant, and now that Durant is out already, I guess the real excitement of the fans will be back again.

I'm one of the many fans of warriors who admire Curry and Thompson with their good chemistry in the team but Durant came in, things becomes easier for them, and in deed they won twice in a row and now they are not a super team anymore, I like to see them struggle then still wins in the end.

I guess we can't call any team a super team anymore and there aren't any team now that's a favorite to win the championship. Balance has been brought back 😁 and though the warriors are by no means weak with kd's departure, a lot of teams in the west now are capable of dethroning them as western conference champs. I guess the only thing we can confidently say for now is that we'll have new champions by the end of the season. I highly doubt that the raptors are geared for a repeat.
