101  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Interest check] 100 BTC Gold bearer Bar unfunded on: June 03, 2016, 09:15:00 PM
It went to me  Grin I sold it to someone this year, which is why I say it wasn't purchased this year.

How much did you sell it for?
It will help us decide on a base price. Smiley

Thanks

It's up to the buyer to reveal the price  Smiley

I can say that none of these 8 bars or the 4- 100 btc 2FA ones I sold or traded were for anywhere near 1 btc.

If this was a resale to current owner, I cannot say though.

I would say of all sold/traded, avg would be at min $1200-$1500+, or 2-3 btc currently.

Really doesn't matter if it's loaded, as only 8 ever made like this, and Mike Caldwell hand assembled these and worked with me on the upside down holo and the red dot idea.

If it was loaded, would be $57k alone in btc.

I have heard of loaded ones going for upwards of $75k.

so 75-57=18K value in bar not the btc for the less rare loaded bars ~31.5BTC

I see what you're saying. I am not sure what btc was at when someone pd $75k, maybe higher.

Even though these bars are technically more rare than loaded 100 bar, any high denomination item/coin seems to fetch a better prem over face value loaded vs. redeemed ones.
Example, I have sold many redeemed 5 btc coins for $40-60. 25 btc redeemed for $400 or so. A loaded 5 btc goes for over 5.1, a 25 over 25.7

This bar wasn't purchased last year.

OP, would you mind telling me where you got the bar over PM?

First, I can confirm 100% this one of the 8 bars I had directly from Caldwell.

In respect for privacy, I can't really say who these ea went to, but I believe this address one was orig sold well over a year ago.

You are correct, It did go to you, just dbl ck'd the addresses.

What are those hairline strains on that picture near the Bitcoin symbol? Cotton fibers?
Since this coin is unloaded I am going to bid 1 BTC as well. Because it will not be worth more than that unless you start an auction.

I can buy it now if you have a spare sticker as I am going to put my own private key inside.
Let me know Smiley

No no no, many other ways to do that. Dont break this bar for that.

Of course I will not break it.
I will use it as a personal cold storage. Therefore I wont even think of reselling it at least in 50 years after buying. Tongue

And I already have a transparent casing which will easily fit that size in case I need it after opening the wrapper.

This is a very special rare item with only 1 of 8 made.  I wouldnt dream of loading it or peeling it.

I agree, store your btc on a cheap coin, this is truly rare item.

I had all 8 of these originally and I worked directly with Caldwell on these back in spring 2014.

There were also 4- 100 btc non loaded 2FA ones.

I have not had any left since around last Xmas.
106  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] - Autographs for the Encyclopedia of Physical Bitcoins on: June 02, 2016, 01:50:03 PM
Good news!  CryptoImperator has been added today.

I also have a very special update from BitcoinPenny.  He would be happy to draw one of his world-famous hand-made doodle sketches on a larger 2" x 4" label in addition to his signature on the normal label.   I won't ask anything extra for this, but wanted to provide a little something special for anybody getting a set.  You could add this to a front inside blank page.

BitcoinPenny has made some very nice sketches for his customers.  See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1213499.0

Any takers??

Yes! I am also in.
Thanks

OK...I'll mention to BitcoinPenny that people want them.  We didn't want to consume his time, if there wasn't the interest.  Personally for me, I prefer sketches from celebrities over their autograph, since I find it more personal and unique.  I have many sketches from some famous names, as well as many cartoon sketches, comic strip original panels and original artwork.  I think this is a nice gesture on behalf of BitcoinPenny.

On another note, I may have some maker's signatures coming complete with their hologram on the label, as an added bonus.

That is a nice touch, as I know many people can't afford or don't have all of the coins and the hologram is a great alternative and just as collectible!!

thanks

No promises on the holos, but its something I'm discussing now with a couple of the people in the group today.  Some of the makers suggested it themselves.  I hadn't thought about it earlier, but its a great feature.

If any of the other makers that are signing labels are reading this, I'm sure we would love to have you add holos to your labels, if you wish to, and can spare them.

I will include holos, and in fact, how about a "loaded" label. Ea scratch off holo added to ea label will be loaded with .001 btc, as in the new 4 color sets just recently avail.
(Which btw, still have some sets if anyone else interested. Much appreciated Smiley

You don't want my sketches, I only can draw stick people, lol

You think you'd be able to hold some until after the halving and sell them at a fiat price? Cheesy

Bitkilo and I are expecting the price to go up, and it's just over a month from now! Not very far!
It wouldn't really make a difference to me, they will still cost 0.1btc or less if they are pricing these on a fiat value

Hi, true, but i should hopefully still have some of these by then so if you want/need to wait, that is fine.

You can also pay in fiat now if you want to save your btc.  thx Smiley

If you two were thinking group ship, just pm me an address or two and can ck actual cheapest USPS ship cost for you.

thx Smiley

Hi Bitguy

It's been a long time since I heard from you on the boards.  It's good to hear from you.

Thanks bithalo! Been busy is all. Plus got locked out of forum a while back and never got response from several pms to moderators.
Need to get it unlocked to ditch the new acct set up. Didn't want to start over newbie status or loose my good trust rating had.

minerjones is gonna help me with it but if you or any other members can help, much appreciated Smiley

Also, nice on the crypto book, I am happy to see the old CryptoFreeze page in there.
