101  Economy / Economics / Re: Things getting interesting once we past $100 on: April 05, 2013, 07:43:11 PM
hoho! Nice! I got in a bit late, but way before all this bitcoin rush. Also, you can buy a motorcycle right in bitcoins too. The guy who sold porsche for bitcoins, still has motorcycle for sale.
This is my dream to buy everything right in bitcoins and just don't bother with fiat
102  Economy / Economics / Re: Things getting interesting once we past $100 on: April 05, 2013, 05:22:25 PM
So, OP tell us the truth. As of today 2013-04-05 BTC1 = $140. Did the things get interesting for you?   Grin
103  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trading Software for MtGox - With Neural Networks. on: April 05, 2013, 05:01:01 PM
Bit Trader trading software is available for purchase right now.

Also our software updates every 15 seconds.

Damn! it requires java! JVM is as depressing as .net Cry
This looks like useful piece of software, but heck, java
104  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DIY PCB with AVAlON - [Documentation ready Mid April!!!!] on: April 05, 2013, 05:50:45 AM
so... does anybody know how much those 10,000 chips will cost?
I guess for cooling these DIY asics could be submerged into mineral oil or thermal liquid like intel uses
105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: April 3 BFL ASIC update. on: April 04, 2013, 09:29:29 PM

Somebody explain to me how an item not yet built can be out of stock.
My uneducated guess would be is they realized that they won't be able to build it. Too hot, over 9000watt power consumption... So out of stock means they won't be making it. So those who bought it will either get equivalent in Japapeņos + SC singles  Grin
or simply quietly get refund those people. Or maybe in the fall they will come up with such device... Anyone else have their guesses?
106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The latest Avalon announcement in China(Translated). Batch #3, price and more. on: April 01, 2013, 04:05:48 AM
See, and you all were worried about batch #3 wouldn't sell Grin

the cheapest batch, why not ? Grin
My thoughts exactly.
Tons of people are predicting $1000-$2700/BTC1 and in few years even $100,000/BTC1  if that happens, people will think batch 3 was practically free Grin
107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trading Software for MtGox - With Neural Networks. on: March 31, 2013, 06:09:48 PM
This is so awesome, I can't wait. I won't use sierra chart because it requires .net and using .net is against my religion Grin
108  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: March 30th BFL ASIC update on: March 29, 2013, 04:22:49 PM
Oh, this is how that stuff is called these days. I thought that was called "harakiri" - stomach cutting
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trading Software for MtGox - With Neural Networks. on: March 29, 2013, 06:36:03 AM
WHOA! Man, this is AWESOME. Not only program looks awesome, you writing it in MFC/C++! No .net/java bullshit! This is precious.  Heck, I'll buy it when it's ready FOR SURE.
Quote
Looks very epic, if only it was for Linux :-(
wine will run it. Wine even runs microsoft office Grin
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / exchanges comparison? on: March 29, 2013, 06:10:54 AM
Ok, guys (and of course gals too) have to ask trading gurus in bitcoin word:
which exchange do you use / have used and find it the most reliable?
Let's do a little review/comparison of the exchanges in this thread, maybe something like this guy does http://www.stocktradingtogo.com/compare-online-brokers/
I keep reading here how depressing mtgox is in various ways. And how they demand tons of personal info (how can I be sure it is safe? I'm not talking about DEA/FBI/CIA/MOSSAD. I'm more worried about identity theft and since these exchanges attacked or hacked quite often...)  Or how bitfloor owner has lots of debts. Is campbx.com good?
Which exchange in your opinion is the most trouble free? ie don't delay transactions, don't demand too much of personal info (or known to protect it really well)
I think this thread would be useful not only for me, but for every newbie that wants to trade, instead of simply convert bitcoins to fiat
111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon PSU works on 230V? on: March 28, 2013, 07:44:16 PM
modern PSUs do not have that little red switch anymore. It is automatic. Avalon uses standard computer PSU, so yes, it will work in Europe just fine.
112  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: If your University had a supercomputer on campus... on: March 28, 2013, 07:39:08 PM
It's called Theft.

Not a good idea.
how is that a theft? Misuse of university equipment intended for educational purpose only at most. After he's done with, whole equipment will stay where it is Grin Power? Heh, most universities I've been in (ie UW, UO, NDSU, etc) waste power like crazy anyway. That computer consumes a lot of power as is and I don't think it's being turned off at night. If you are CS student, just tell them you are doing a research. in 2001 lots of students were researching Kazaa Grin Some people did that SETI@home crap on university computers. Believe me, there is lots of misuse is going on
113  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The latest Avalon announcement in China(Translated). Batch #3, price and more. on: March 28, 2013, 06:05:22 AM
See, and you all were worried about batch #3 wouldn't sell Grin
114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon should start mining for the missing batch 1 customers. on: March 28, 2013, 06:01:58 AM
Canadian customs is actually depressing. 7 years ago I've bought cisco router modules on ebay. Those were quite expensive modules at the time, and one guy was selling one rather cheap. So I've bought it. He shipped it from Canada. Holy crap, it took 4.5 weeks! It was stuck at the customs forever. So I bet your avalon is in the country, just stuck at that god damn customs... Angry
115  Economy / Economics / Re: Cyprus Agrees 20% Tax On Bank Deposits on: March 27, 2013, 06:40:06 AM
Tax <---> Theft

Taxes are not retroactive. This is criminal.
Ha! In California they are

116  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: If order AVALON batch #3 when to expect to get it? on: March 27, 2013, 06:06:08 AM
like end of may or something Sad
Since they haven't even done with batch 1...
Seriously, what was THE FANCY date? count down and all. January 20th? in 5 days it will be April 1st...
117  Economy / Economics / Re: Things getting interesting once we past $100 on: March 27, 2013, 05:46:14 AM
ohoho! Don't even get me started WHY I'm pissed about taxes...  This is going to be long post, but with valid arguments. If not, I'm opened for discussion
So now that there's another "bubble" at full speed, I'm reaching a point where crossing $100 will mean that me as well as others are making some serious money (I'll leave up to you to define what serious money is)
My concern now is, what if i want to sell and withdraw the money to my US Bank Account.
How do I avoid uncle sam to stick its hand in my cookie jar and takes the tax share?
What if I don't report it?
What if I transfer small amounts ($1000 at a time ever week or so..)
Any accountants in the forum to help me do the laundry? Tongue
I so feel you, bro. I so feel you. Some people here say thing like
Yeah. Benefit.

As in Fire department, police, military, roads, education, food safety and other consumer protection, social safety net, etc.
So I get benefit from taxation. Well, if I could only pay for those things I wouldn't whine at all. My biggest crying are federal taxes. Why should I pay those bastards?
Fire / police dept are payed by state income tax. Roads payed by gasoline tax. I get state sales tax, I get city sales tax. I get property tax. I get vehicle ownership tax (and no, I can't ditch the car, this wild midwest here, no fancy public transportation like both coasts have)
And then I lose $1000/mo in freaking federal taxes. and then I have to pay more at the end of the year. And I am broke all the time, I have no freely available money (just necessities, plus little extra and tons of taxes). So people say I benefit from military. Or states benefit from FEMA (those lousy bastards, I've seen their work)
Well let's see. Let's start with military.  Shit like this was going on forever http://www.wnd.com/2000/10/4314/   crazy overcharges at tax payer's expense. Why? Because people in charge of those contracts are getting kickbacks. Crap like this still going on today. That's just SUPPLYING the army. Then there was that fucking Iraq war. I didn't need that war. That was wasn't to protect the US.
That war simply allowed bullshit like this to happen http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/01/30/iraq.audit/ Just like that. They lost 9 billion. Who gives the shit, it's just some shitty change. Besides I didn't ask for US to destroy Iraq and then rebuild it with MY and other tax payer's money.
Then there is shit like welfare. Those freaking leeches.  I'm not talking about people who really needed it, I'm talking about freaking leeches, welfare queens. Like this one http://fellowshipofminds.wordpress.com/2012/02/20/woman-complains-about-her-taxpayer-paid-rent-free-apartment/  why should I pay for that crap??
Then there is freaking IRS. the most freaking useless dept in the federal govt.  I would much prefer state sales tax and no income tax at all. These bastards are so useless. Crap like this
http://www.forbes.com/sites/janetnovack/2012/04/24/refund-tax-fraud-iphone-feed-identity-theft-by-employees/ IRS doesn't even give a damn about.
The IRS, these dumb f...ks allow crap like this to happen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eQZoXAU7X0
Why care? Why to do anything to prevent this from happening? Why change anything? We'll milk a lot more!
Obama says spending isn't the problem. Of course not!
Speaking of Obama and whitehouse expenses...

Not too shabby, huh? to keep that dog it cots 102k/year. Amazing. Why don't they send it to Korea? They love dogs there Grin  http://whitehouseexpenses.com/?cat=3  not too bad, huh?
Why should I pay for this crap? They sure don't http://dailycaller.com/2013/03/20/federal-employees-who-dont-pay-taxes-would-be-fired-under-bill-that-passed-committee/
So... remind me again, how am benefiting from losing 1k/mo?  And you wondering WHY I DO NOT WANT TO PAY TAXES

118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC pay back on: March 27, 2013, 01:19:32 AM
I'm making 7BTC per day with my avalons now. Next difficulty jump it will drop. By end of April or early may I'd bet its only 2-3 a day or less.

It may be a long time to "payoff" an Avalon batch 3 order.
How many avalons do you have? My calculations show that 2 avalons should be making about 9 coins a day. But that's in perfect world...
119  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who else from Avalon batch 1 hasn't received a unit or shipping information? on: March 26, 2013, 06:34:04 AM
So, guys, when you call DHL what do you tell them? Obviously not the tracking #, since nobody received it... What to ask?

120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Avalon Update on: March 25, 2013, 06:21:12 AM
this one looks prettier  Grin
