Someone is putting up ask walls to protect their shorts on finex.... Must be doing something right.

Is there any confirmation to auction being 30% above market?  Who started the rumor?  Don't tell me it was AdamstgBit.

Why would anyone bid that high above market?  You could buy 50k across several exchanges without driving it up 30%.

You would have to trust the exchanges to do that.

I would like to thank everyone for listening to people like Tarmi, and falling in the bear trap. The train is now leaving without you.

I think all of us should just go to Vegas for a week, get drunk, party, gamble, and settle all these differences of opinions in person. It would be fun. I'll room with LampChop.

That is a great idea. I can only imagine returning home from the trip, getting on this thread, and not seeing a single troll post.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: What goes up :) on: March 05, 2015, 02:58:14 AM
So we all know about the recent rise of bitcoin and i am not in the boat of the moon like so many choose to be i am in the realist boat and i would like to know how many others feel bitcoin will crash this week if so when and to what level?

Oh what goes up must go down this is law and un avoidable

So you, a realist, think bitcoins are overpriced? If so, what do you think they are worth, and why?
106  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 05, 2015, 02:56:22 AM

Will you stop positing here if you are wrong?

Are we all waiting for after midnight to buy?

i'm waiting on the 'four punch raiders' and 'chinese panic' flash dump raids to buy moar. i thinking huobi could possibly have more bags to drop..... lol .

The Four Punch Pattern is at the short squeeze phase. You might make a profit picking up nickles in front on the train, but you might get flattened.

I agree

Shorting right now is almost suicide

 Roll Eyes

almost.

sorry, but when people are calling short squeeze phase that means it is already over.

Don't be an ignorant fool. Look at the squeeze to $720, the squeeze to $475 and tell me it's over. Better yet, just go ahead and short. Please.

720...475?

what the fuck are you babbling about?

gtfo.

ok dipshit, I'll use small words: the short squeeze from $400 to $720 and the short squeeze from $340 to $475  both involved margin call cascades and rose over $130 from the bottoms. There is a spike. The $294 top was not a spike.

sorry to disappoint you but 294 $ top was a spike.

you better get used to small numbers bitcoiner, because you aint gonna see so big numbers or "cascades" like you used to any time soon.

Will you stop positing here if you are wrong?
108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 04, 2015, 08:36:47 PM
Shorts going up. Ballsy. Hope they can afford to lose some money.

That's the only way they can suppress the price, by borrowing coins they do not have. If they had coins they wouldn't be stupid enough to sell right now.

Just opened up my first margin position on Bitfinex  Tongue (as a test)

Any fluent Finex users able to chime in on this question ? - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=229438.msg10657126#msg10657126

I answered your questions in the post the best I could.
110  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [OFFICIAL]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: March 04, 2015, 04:41:24 PM
Quick Question

I just opened a test long position on margin (I bought 0.13 BTC with 0.05)

Can I place a limit order with the 0.13 BTC that I just bought on margin? (I only see an option to "Close" or "Claim" my position)

After playing around with the orders I am getting more confused lol, apparently I can place a sell order for 0.2 BTC when I only have 0.13 BTC in my balance.

Is this the proper place to be putting orders? Why is it possible to place an order for .2 when I only have the .13 (which is on margin)??

Your limit order will close your position when it reaches $340. Since you put the amount as .2 you would not only close your long position but then enter a short position with the remaining .07 or .069 actually.  If you just want to close the position you could either put a limit sell at $340 for the exact amount of your long. You can also click "close" at any time to close your position with a market order. You can also click "claim", in this instance, if you have made enough profit on your long you can claim the .13 BTC (profit=.13BTC or more), so you would get the bitcoin and not the cash equivalent like you would if clicked "close" or limit sold to close the long.

Hope that helped.

Bears seem to be scared of >280. I'm guessing shorts will start closing by large numbers shortly after

ehhh i figure 1/4 million can buy me a decent 50 footer ... most people would consider that a yacht and not a simple boat ... some may argue only 100 foot + counts as a true luxury yacht ...

Happy shopping (good luck with that 1/4 mill)

http://www.ypigroup.com/luxury-yachts-for-sale/index.htm

 Wink

oh i know there's definitely a difference between a yacht and a luxury yacht ... the same way there's a difference between a used honda and a new lamborghini
50 footers are sweet!

that's what i'm sayin ... if it has more than 1 bedroom , a kitchen , full bath , and is bluewater capable ... it's a yacht in my book ... those extra feet won't help you spear fish any better anyways Tongue

Just remember that it cost about 10% of the original cost of the boat, just for maintenance each year! Unless you can afford to move it from place to place where it will only see summer, and save on winterization. Also be ready to have it out of the water for 2 weeks a year for engine and outdrive overhaul. I have a mid-cabin open-bow catamaran powerboat. I spend about 8 grand a year in upkeep.
113  Economy / Speculation / What I've noticed over the last year of downtrend on: March 02, 2015, 07:17:17 PM
It's crazy how effective all the downward pressure was over the last year. It got everyone thinking that every rise is a pump and dump. At most some traders will ride the price up for a bit and then bail when they think it is turning around. The whales are going to notice when they are the only ones on the train and they will take off without any passengers, leaving all the profits to themselves. All the ones that bailed will have to buy back in at a loss only adding fuel to the train when it's momentum is already unstoppable. Just ask yourself, do you want to be on the train or left chasing it because you were more or less brainwashed?

Will this be another pump and dump? I don't know, I'm not in the inner circle, but I know I won't be left behind by buying and holding.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2015, 07:05:14 PM

Tarmi are you currently in or out of bitcoin? Bleating suggests you were expecting falls from 237..

selling like a mofo.

I know it could go higher but I dont give a fuck.

Wise trader detected. Only a foolish blind noob doesnt see how manipulated this fake pump is, all those rumors being published to prevent price from falling down before an auction are so obviously fishy.

It's like you people have never seen a natural rise before. Not enough sell pressure to keep us down anymore, and not enough coins to short for the manipulators. I'm not sure how you can say this pump is manipulated when it's natural buying and not so much on borrowed money. Nobody gives a shit about the auction, there has been many and there will be more. Might want to get your trader detector looked at.

Bears buying back at a loss.

Bears buying back at a loss as usual.
117  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitstamp Volume Update on: February 27, 2015, 02:24:16 AM
Bitstamp volume drops as soon as the downward pressure stopped. Why you ask? It was where all the goxcoins were being sold. I am glad they now have such little volume.

1. Establish credibility
2. Spew bearish words
3. People sell
4. Buy low
5. Wait
6. Profit?

Newbie trolls will do anything to spread fear. I hope the common sense newbies see past this.
