101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litefaucet.com is dispensing 0.2 LTC per day!! on: April 08, 2013, 12:12:39 PM
Sent email as requested, 5 days gone by, still no LTC....

Hi, please re-email at joe@litefaucet.com. Perhaps it slipped through the cracks or you didn't complete the sentences correctly.

I'll give you the rate + interest from my own wallet Smiley

The faucet has also been dispensing about once every 36 hours because of my repulsively busy schedule. Sorry about that! I will work full time on this starting May 5.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litefaucet.com just dispensed 0.1 LTC! [IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT] on: April 07, 2013, 04:47:00 AM
Litefaucet is proud to announce that www.ltccasino.net also advertises with us now, so payments have been increased to 0.1 LTC!

104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin crashing 70% right now! on: April 06, 2013, 02:32:08 PM
LiteCoin rallied up from 0,50$ to 6$ on speculations that MtGox will start trading LiteCoin.
Now it is crashing and is trading around 2$, LTC/BTC is down from around 0,040 to 0,015 now (down over 60%).
If and when BitCoin goes down to 30-50$, LTC/BTC will probably be around 0,005 which implies LTC/USD of 0,15-0,25$.

My advice to anyone mining alt-coins right now: sell for fiat, or sell for bitcoin at least if you dont want fiat.

Horrible advice, don't sell pre or post boom omg... In two weeks we'll be back at 5 because of difficulty + bernanke

Good time to buy litecoin? Ive been watching from the sidelines for a while, and was thinking about buying some

In my opinion yes, or buy a mining rig or open a business in ltc
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: oh why oh why did we sell...... on: April 06, 2013, 02:23:37 PM
man it sure is kinda rough looking at just how high TRC/PPC/LTC exchange rates have gotten....

having mined 15k TRC like it was nothing a few months ago... at current FX rates thats $50k worth

oh well, you live and you learn

Okay, 15K TRC is not worth $50K, no matter how you cut it. Also, there is not $50K worth of depth in the market. Meaning your first TRC maybe you sell for a fortune, your second you sell your a bargin, your third is a deal, your fourth is a profit, and your 5th all the way down to your 50 thousandth you sell for next to nothing.

So don't beat yourself up. It's speculation but it's also an illusion. BTC  could crash  tomorrow as well and we're all left holding 0's and 1's.

Greed will burn you. Be realistic and be happy you get something out of it. If you really want to be rich- you should build a business with crypto. That will make the coins you already have worth more, and will make a real income that's not just speculation. Rich people get rich on speculation because they can afford to lose money, thus they can afford to risk a heck of a lot more.

Don't beat yourself up, welcome to the club. Exciting times are ahead of us!

Crypto will never, ever crash.

Lesson #1:

Never sell crypto pre-boom.

Lesson #2:

Hoarding never fails

lmao.

I'm gonna mine a bit of every new coin now as 'insurance'.

A very wise decision Wink

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: would anyone like to rent their mining rig to me for 1 day to mine bytecoin? on: April 04, 2013, 11:09:11 PM
I will pay in btc and compensate you at a rate a few percentage points higher than what you could have reasonably expected to mine in yourself in the same period of time.

Thanks!

If you can assist me with the miner setup, I will point a fully overclocked 6770 at it

bytecoin is a carbon copy of bitcoin so it shouldnt (in theory) be very difficult.

With that being said i have been trying all day to mine a few bte with no success so far. I will let you know if i get it figured out.

I tried to do it with guiminer solo.. I could do it at the pool that's been set up probably but I am increasingly buried with 3 businesses and a college degree to finish Cheesy

Go read the pool thread for me and see what you can find

as far as i know the pool that has a dedicated thread isnt working. One pool that is working (supposidly for other people not for me) is bytecoin.us.to

Its not working with guiminer though so you will have to use anything other than guiminer. All you have to do is connect to the server with port 6327, set the username to the address you would like the coins to be payed too, and set the password to 1.

Can I use Reaper, change the reaper.conf to "mine bitcoin" and connect to the server port?

When it comes to new crypto currencies, it's good to have the good old pizza standard Smiley
