And this makes me to come to a hypothetical conclusion that in gambling each and every person is individually destiny to within the range of certain amount of win. And that if you are not destined to win the high amount you are after, you will never be able to no matter how much you use or the strategy you apply to your bets.
I stumbled on this one yesterday and TBH, I'm not still able to comprehend the point proven.  Tongue I don't intend to break any existing protocols whatsoever. Been a while we had an update in here.

Simulation theory explained ..duh! lol.  Yeah I’ve had quite a few replies to posts of mine of late that gave me a brain aneurysm after just a few sentences. Will try to dig some up (right after I send that guy who posted here n Meta asking for 100k in btc , based in China. Not like btc is illegal there or his story isn’t believable. Can’t believe the post was taken down)
102  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO/WARNING] New Lydian Coin on Powercoin.it on: May 19, 2024, 12:22:33 PM
Hi,
so alright, lets delve into this...

As for the price, I agree it seems steep, but that's pointless debate - you can try to sell for whatever price you want, I have no problem with that.

Now - what you are doing is selling a normal commemorative coin PLUS 0,0002 BTC. There is simply NO connection between those two.
Coin itself has no public address, no private key and as far as I can tell not even a serial number - bitcoin (in a form of CoA) and the coin are totally separated.

You can make a simple commemorative coin, there's nothing wrong with that.
OR you can make a so called "physical bitcoin" coin with visible public address (so you check if the coin is loaded) and hidden private key (or as in your case a seed phrase, why not, even though it's longer), so you have to visibly damage the coin to reveal it. In that way undamaged coin automatically guarantees ownership of bitcoin - that is the whole point of such coin.
(Please research Casascius or some other reputable maker for this.)
What you did is neither.

Plus your instructions for redeeming are very, very amateurish - and I don't mean "simplified for ordinary people", I mean amateurish and insecure.

One problem with physical bitcoin is that it requires trust (which kinda goes against the whole bitcoin ethos, but that's another debate) in the maker of such coin.
I have to trust not just you're not a scammer, but also that you know what you're doing.
I am not sure if you are scammers, but just after reading your instructions I AM sure you don't really know much not just about making physical bitcoin, but also about bitcoin in itself.

Please, either stick to making commemorative coins (as I stated originally, the design itself is quite alright) OR get someone knowledgeable, if you really want to do this.
If it helps, you're not alone, Mint21 tried with "Liberty" coin and they got a lot of flak here as well (and deservedly so):
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405047.msg60501825
(But again, your case is still much, much worse.)

Hi,

We are Coint Co and we are happy to answer your questions!

Indeed, the information about Niue is wrong and we have asked power coin to remove it. We are a registered Brazilian company (as you might suspect for Renato's past work).

You can check the transactions from our bitcoin wallet to the addresses for each new lydian coin in here : https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1CointCoXgzKSeCECFHoatVyJd6S6zgpkf
Currently there are 50 wallets loaded since we would like to keep track time in the blockchain as we sell the coins.

We also agree that the instructions to move those bitcoins might be challenging. We would love to use a qr code to read the private key from the certificate of authenticity, for example, but currently blockhain.com app doesn't allow that (we have informed them of the issue and they replied they'll be working on this). Also, if you have any suggestions on how to access the private key easily, we are happy to take into account.

We have used the word "password" on our marketing material since most of our customers are not familiar with public/private keys or dealing with bitcoin wallets.

Again, happy for your interest in our coin!

Regards,
Coint Co

This came up in a convo w a forum member so, why I’m back at this nonsense..

Not sure how I missed the rest of this convo. Here’s the truth, they are full of shit. Completely full of bs. Check out their blockchain link if it’s working, I think they got mad at me for going in and out so much (that’s not what she said?-Michael Scott) so I can’t anymore atm. Anyways there were just a few total transactions between I believe just two wallets, and very little left in this wallet they posted above. Shady much ? Nah they came back and addressed all concerns as they promised…wait.

I am of the opinion they are part of TopWorldCoins who makes those dumb fucking United Crypto States coins with values and redemption and all that , which makes no sense.  Sounds familiar ..the original Sol Noctis Bull coins (by TWC) do not just have a simple private key under the holo, but some weird cryptographic nonsense that several cryptographers here couldn’t even figure out how the redemption works.  Oh and those are the coins where one member here reported on the coins moving out and shortly after back in to the coin wallet/address and he never even peeled it. This was verified by an expert as well. TopWorld /United Crypto States unsurprisingly refused to address it..to say the least.

So what’s that all mean….they don’t want you to move the coins and have all gone to great/nonsensical lengths to try and dissuade you from doing so or simply not allowing you to do so at all.

It’s of my opinion that TWC/CointCo/PowerCoin are all very much connected ..and not just because they sell each others coins..though that’s part of it.

Most the coin designs are repeats or virtually stolen.

If I had a penny for those who claimed they did it first lol..

Writing sure looks familiarly ridiculous no- https://www.ucs-coins.com/

(Note I erroneously said Power Coin was behind the Sol Noctis Bull key issues but meant TWC. Regardless they are all full of shit and untrustworthy)

But yeah I just saw that Netflix partnership yesterday and thankfully have netflix, but it's a bit annonying how much football is starting to be played off basic cable.
Yeah same with baseball.  It's real annoying that you.have to have multiple subscriptions to watch one team.
...

They are definitely trying to milk us to death... but what are we gonna do, not watch football? No way. I'm gonna be renewing this service I used last season that was for a relatively reasonable price: $40 to watch any game, including preseason, playoffs and Super Bowl.

The best part about it is you can rewatch any old game, from any week, whenever you want. They also cut out all the commercials & downtime from those games, so instead of a game taking 3-4 hours, its only ~1.5 hours. Funny enough, the only method of payment they accept is BTC.

If you want to know more about it, shoot me a PM and I'll send you a invite link.

Does it by chance include RedZone?  Does it use any IP or GPS location tracking (if so guessing a VPN can be used, or prob is required regardless)?  Pretty sure I know what type of service you're talking about. I have to have a tv services for sports, CNBC investment news and umm..about it , 85 a month for YouTube TV.  Fuck google.  This also doesn't include any Chicago Cubs games which have Marquee network, their own like Wheelz yankees have as well as the Dodgers (pretty sure just those 3 teams, all teams would if they could, but baseball is no NFL in the States).

For me if the Bears are on I'm watching on YT TV and if not, RedZone..this is the way.

Btw hows the picture quality?  It's half ass on YT TV or any service for that matter, and high end TVs are almost worse (minus lag) I've got a very high end TV and it's just ehh.  "4k games" look sick, even though it's not real 4k, and only Fox Network has them during playoffs and then the SB has it.  4k on YT TV, which has extremely little content, $15 a month lol.

Besides thinking in college when I sold my books on amazon since they paid more than local book stores and thinking "this co just sells books, they are def going out of business before long" , "a la cart tv will be amazing" is prob my 2nd worst prediction ever lol.

Thanks Mantis!!! I’ll continue to add to this (will make calls etc).  I think it’s insane we don’t have all this info collected and posted already as it’s a massive help to us all..so kinda surprised by the lack of replies.

As for grading w NGC and PCGS.. I bet many sats that if say Charlie Lee sent in a Cas bowl game coin, Finite Bars, or a coin with a huge penis on it that says btc below it , they’d slab and grade it all. Both PCGS and NGC are ran by morons.  They will eventually at least slab it all. I’ve said this about them since I joined this forum as their main customer base (boomers) are dying off.  Has anyone ever gotten a reply as to why they won’t grade certain stuff?

I haven’t still (this was in Jan)

Are you able to share what type/kind of coin this was in regards to?

Was for Kialara coins..new version, moon “error” , and maybe the bars, but I can’t remember as it was via the website and that info is lost once sent, of course. A prominent forum member (you advised me to reach out to) went out of their way to intro me to a PCGS connect who helps get stuff graded w/them and even they ghosted me after this forum member left our “group chat”.  SMH.

106  Economy / Collectibles / Info to add to SatsLife pinned topic- help needed on: May 18, 2024, 10:31:21 AM
I was going to make a post asking for whom around these parts offers coin design work (graphic artists with experience).  I’d like something mocked up. Got me thinking..

It would be nice to add these topics (& info) to Sats pinned help thread (assuming Sats is cool with this, which I’m sure he would be..will check).

1)Coin graphic artists- btalk members would be a priority (I’ll go for first, bigtimespaghetti) , freelancers, but even names of individuals maybe at certain mints or graphic design studios that can be vouched for.  Pretty sure mints will charge more than a freelancers, right? So it would be nice to have a list available (like there is for escrow).

2)Coin Graders - ICG (coin authentication by the worlds most knowledgeable collector in the space, MinerJones), NGC , PCGS  & ?? (ANACS no longer, good riddance anyhow) but how about legit graders in Europe and Asia (it’s increasingly difficult to ship these items overseas, so this is becoming all the more important). Also, pricing lists as well as what coins/bars they will slab, which have been rejected, which require a whale to do business (yes that’s been a big part of this all) etc. ( I can help with this all a little more).

3) Auction houses & pricing  (Scarce, Stacks, Heritage, eBay, &? ..personal websites would be overkill, and imo should not be listed here ).  On one hand yeah this drives away some business here but, that’s inevitable/important for the hobby to grow. How much do listings cost, how much do sales costs for sellers and (insanely) buyers? What are the main requirements? ..scarce I believe forces LN deposits and bidding, Stacks requires items be graded and shipped by armor vehicle, etc.

4) How to fix broken image links in old threads - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5452662.0

5) Coin Mints - who will work with us, costs, etc.

IMO these topics would do us all and new collectors a lot of good.

Help and thoughts needed / welcomed.
107  Other / Meta / Re: [Script] Imgur to TalkImg - automatically fix your broken images on: May 17, 2024, 10:22:08 PM
Any guidance would be much appreciated!  I have quite a few topics I worked hard on that need to img fixed and would sldo benefit those down the road to stay looking nice (here's what I tried to work on- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5174217.0 ).  Sorry for being a dumbass ya'll.  cheers-ty
Have you tried the "Single Topic" version?

"Single Topic" version

Get the code here: https://gist.github.com/ninjastic/59bde80306c32153a5775b9a570b16b7

Run it on any topic and all images posted by you will be updated.

IMPORTANT: only images that are shown on the screen! This means that if you are on page 1, the script won't update the images on page 2. You can use the ;all page on the forum to make all posts show up all at once (probably won't work properly if the topic is huge?).

Just go to the topic you want to update (read the disclaimer above), copy the entire thing, open your console's developer tools console (on Chrome/Edge: Ctrl + Shift + I), paste it, run it.

Let me know of any errors you get.

Hell...please bare with me and if you want to ignore me, wouldn't blame ya!  I read all rules, and followed directions from your last post.  I realized I just had to comply with the chrome rules of "make sure you know what script you're running".  I then highlighted the entire box of code from your github link, and c/p/enter into console ..it ran and said it was fixing all the images , and each one now says uploaded with a talkimg link. At the end of everything in console remains lines 227-30..stating "Finished".  I now realize maybe I wasn't supposed to copy everything from that script box?  I stupidly missed the copy script button to the right of "embed". So, not sure if that was a fck up or not...assuming not..but assuming makes an ...well you know.

If I ran it properly, and I did so about 30mns ago now..none of the broken links were fixed.  I didn't get any errors though in the console box.  I also realize I may have fd up by simply opening btalk in another tab to type this up but I THINK the script had finished by that time. I think.  Perhaps the images are too large too..I dunno. I would doubt they all would be, however ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5174217.0 )

Apologies for being such a moron. I will def be donating a few sats regardless to that addy. I really appreciate all that you do here! .. as well as your fellow Mr Robots (like my buds LV and PG and of course the mods!)

It worked, I'm good to go. Thanks !!
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin on: May 16, 2024, 08:44:31 PM
I have shared this story on here quite a few times, but I first found out about bitcoin back in 2013/2014ish, and I heard about it after reading some article in non-mainstream news.  Being a financial advisor who despises big banks, I was instantly intrigued and fell in love with the idea of a decentralized currency.  I then read Mastering Bitcoin and Digital Gold and studied it for an entire year before "entering the space".

Make sure you invest in something you understand, that you have faith in, that you promote or would recommend for someone else etc...going in to any "investment" blindly is a risky proposition.
109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When investing in Bitcoin: what to consider? on: May 16, 2024, 08:38:35 PM
First how does Bitcoin operate? Bitcoin it's a digital currency uses Blockchain technology to support transactions between users. If you know how Bitcoin operates then you will also know the consideration that comes with. And critics say Bitcoin doesn't work as a currency, Citing volatility use in illegal activity, but supporters argue that it's too early to make  some of these claims, is already fixing many of those concerns. I know their are so many things to be consider with when it comes to anything investment. Mostly concerning the highest exchange in the world. So what are your opinion towards the people that are investing in Bitcoin?

As stated on here many times, the best way (typically) to invest in anything is utilizing a strategy called DCA, or Dollar Cost Averaging where you're putting your money in to bitcoin, say $100 every other week throughout the entire year.  No one knows for sure when bitcoin is going to be high, or low, so this strategy allows you to make sure you at least hit some of the "lows" to get more bang for your buck.

Lots of NFL news today:

The NFL now has games on Netflix, Peacock, Amazon Prime and ESPN+, while Sunday Ticket is on YouTube TV.

Add Netflix to the list of streaming services you need to watch the NFL. I mean this is getting ridiculous, you can't expect regular folk to have all those subscriptions because some you only need for a game or two, it's so inconvenient.  PPV when?

HBO, NFL Films, Skydance Sports, and the New York Giants are joining forces for HARD KNOCKS: OFFSEASON WITH THE NEW YORK GIANTS, a brand-new iteration of the groundbreaking franchise that will document the NFL offseason for the very first time, announced today.

Interesting. This is not the training camp version of Hard Knocks, kinda looking forward to this tbh.

...the complete 2024 NFL schedule will be released later today, which i guess is what everyone is waiting for.

Oh yeah, I was waiting for the schedule release last night with great intent.  The Sunday Night football game between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans is what I'm most excited about right now...two young up and coming franchises with a star QB (and a potential start QB in Caleb Williams).

But yeah I just saw that Netflix partnership yesterday and thankfully have netflix, but it's a bit annonying how much football is starting to be played off basic cable.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: May 16, 2024, 08:33:15 PM
I am not a fan of streaming communities in general for these exact reasons, especially for gambling.  I use to follow a couple Youtube streamers who would talk about gambling opportunities, giving helpful tips and what not.  But as time went on, I could tell that they were starting to just promote certain platforms and it was clear they were being paid to do so, and didn't necessarily believe in what they were promoting, just getting paid for it.  No thanks.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: May 16, 2024, 08:31:08 PM
Sport betting is one of the easiest betting you could engage yourself with and very smart to understand.

I doubt this statement. I mean, obviously, dice, slot, and any other pure luck based games are easier than sports betting, because you don't need to think deeply or analyze something to be able to minimize your chances of losing. Unlike sports betting, you will need to analyze the odds, watch games to understand how the game works, be updated with the news around the league to better understand why the bookies came up with a specific odds, and a lot more things that you need to learn and analyze before placing your bets. Well, it could be easy if you just place your bets in any team and any odds and any type of betting, mindlessly. That for sure is gonna cost you money.

As others have stated, I doubt they believe it's the easiest betting there is in general, just that it's typically the easiest form of gambling , or one of the easiest just at it's most basic level.  Whos' going to win, pick team A or B.  Pretty easy.

Of course this can change when you start to make more advanced bets such as betting parlays and things of that nature.

114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: May 15, 2024, 06:54:03 PM
I honestly wonder why people have certain favorite slot games outside of perhaps getting lucky with a certain type once or twice and wanting to got to / use that slot machine type in the future.  For me they are all about the same, there isn't one or another that I like losing to more lol.

I do agree that the likelihood of the majority of your outcomes will be losing, that's for sure lol.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 15, 2024, 06:51:40 PM
This depends entirely on what kind of gambling I'm looking to do.  If I'm looking to place some sports bets, then getting on my online casino's tends to make the most sense.  If I'm looking to play a long game of Poker/Texas Hold'em, then being in person where I can use the art of "bluffing", reading other places faces etc that make Poker fun (to me), then being in person makes the most sense.
116  Economy / Economics / Re: If you want to be wealthy you need action on: May 15, 2024, 06:49:30 PM
"You can read books listen all the gurus, but it's nothing compared with your own experince.
Instead of reading the books or listening the gurus learn the basics and start action make some moves because you will need to be ready to make mistakes don't take this emotionally be with mindset that you gona have nice long 3 years of working with something make mistakes don't think about them too much just make notes what went wrong and move on dont make same mistake try new way.
At the end you will have a lot experince base to see what did worked and what did not worked out."

The problem without reading books or listening to "gurus" is the likelihood of making big mistakes.  Its one thing to "work out the kinks" when playing baseball or doing whatever where you "live and Learn" but living and learning with your finances is a risky proposition.  Not all books or self help items (seminars/webinars etc) have to do with telling you what products to buy or pushing certain things.  Many can help with just basics, and not learning the basics from reading is silly.

Why do we read and learn about History?  The answer is to not make the mistakes of the past.  Read !
117  Economy / Economics / Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 15, 2024, 06:45:13 PM
This topic has come up quite a few times over the years on this board.  A lot of the discussion around it has mostly been others opinions.  I found this neat little graph online (instagram) from the New York Times that compares the two.  Now keep in mind one's location will certainly have an effect on which one might make more sense, even in what part of you own country you're in.

118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 06:39:10 PM
How about maybe the biggest gamble of all, Fractional Reserve Banking where big/large banks use a large % of peoples money to gamble/invest in all sorts of different things, meaning that your money is really not all at a bank somewhere, though it's theoretically supposed to be.  It's kind of insane how hard it is (at least in the United States) to go to a bank and take out a "large" sum of money (say 7-10k).  This to me is crazy gambling and a reason laws were put in to place to stop this.
