101  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 03, 2013, 06:43:21 PM
Sam,
Thank you for updating everyone. Let's chat today about what we can/should do as far as the 'Founder shares' and present a 'solution' Monday.

Is this the designated LabCoin communication channel for intra-business communiques?

Talk about a transparent communication policy...

Thoughts? (Yes, I know several people will say lower the fees (and it will increase trades)) unfortunately as I have stated before, I spend way more out of pocket on lawyers at the moment and that is a large risk for me. I might consider doing it for a few days to see if it helps but I am not sure that results would be immediate.)

-Ukyo

I'm not sure if your fees need to be lower, but I wish you would move to a maker-taker structure; people who post limit orders don't pay fees or pay reduced fees compared to people who place market orders. I think you would see it has a great effect on market liquidity.

104  Economy / Securities / Re: CasinoBitco.in - Raising Bankroll for Football! [IPO] [BTC-TC] [BITFUNDER] on: August 02, 2013, 09:39:39 PM
Well done. I'll take a hard look at the offering if/when it comes about.

Cheers!
105  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPO 8-2-13] [XBOND] Bitcoin's Only Exchangeable Bond on: August 02, 2013, 09:24:52 PM
But seriously just chill.  If you don't trust these guys with your money, then don't hold the shares.

It's not as simple as that. The greater issue here is the legitimacy of the market itself.

We care, so we kick and scream. I don't want issuers acting like scammers, or investors buying into scams, regardless of whether I hold shares.

It affects everyone. It affects the value of everything, and bitcoin's health in general.

I spotted the diplomacy I was looking for Smiley

Otherwise, I think most people find that I try to be both diplomatic and a purveyor of progress.

Still wondering what you meant by diplomatic...  Tongue

Are all future listings to be supported by this bond to be released on Havelock Investments? It seems you have had successful launches there recently (including this bond).

What I meant about diplomatic is that I do my best to be respectful while being respected, and I try to take people seriously when I'm not sure if they are serious. Being tactful on the internet ain't easy, and people like to make it even more difficult with trolling and dramatic overtures. Being diplomatic while trying to be progressive is even worse, being that many dislike or misunderstand change.

3. Any XBOND on any exchange can be exchanged toward Pre-IPO offerings on any exchange, so long as they are issued by TAT Investments.

See above, but generally an XBOND sold on any exchange is redeemable to any eligible IPO on any exchange. I'll post Pre-IPO details along with any IPO announcements. These details will include any schedules, specifications or limits (if any).

I realize you don't want to divulge secrets of upcoming releases, but I am more interested to invest in an index fund traded on Havelock or BTC-TC than BitFunder (no API), so let me be more direct: do you have a preferred market for listing new offerings? (Don't say BitFunderCheesy
106  Economy / Securities / Re: CasinoBitco.in - Raising Bankroll for Football! [IPO] [BTC-TC] [BITFUNDER] on: August 02, 2013, 09:13:28 PM
It seems like you guys really just want a 500BTC line of credit but lack collateral, so the IPO option allows you to raise capital without collateral—and there's the added bonus of walking away from your obligation if it all goes pear-shaped on a 10BTC 7-team parlay. I suggest you offer a larger stake (> 30%) for the amount of risk you're asking investors to take on.

Your feedback is taken, but it's very unfair to speculate that we would walk away from any of our commitments. I understand there is a trust issue because you don't know us, and there have been plenty of scammers in the past, but we've been a fantastic addition to the Bitcoin community and are offering our players a great gaming experience. That said, you max bets (and max "to win" amount on bets / parlays) will fluctuate based on our bankroll. Never will we exposure ourselves beyond a 1% risk of ruin. So the scenario where a customer hits a 7-team parlay will never break the house.

I only used the parlay as a colorful default scenario, I certainly didnt mean to imply your operation was amateurish. My point was that in a secured loan, your collateral would be liquidated in the event of a default, which could be caused by many unforeseen events unrelated to your trustworthiness—malicious theft by hackers, seizure of domain/equipment by authorities, etc. In your IPO, you are offering fractional profit-sharing as a reward to those providing the substantive bankroll—i.e. you are overvaluing your current assets. I think a variable-yield bond offering is a more appropriate fundraising tool in this instance than an overvalued security.

Exo
I was not even talking to you nor am I "Closing my eyes?"

I was responding to your sentiment rather than to you particularly, so I apologize. I suppose we agree on the need to hedge in this moment. I dumped it earlier, but I do plan on buying in later (~0.00135).

The problem as I see it is the valuation:
The issuers have invested their own time, money, blood, sweat, and tears and rewarded themselves with a modest 30% stake in return. At current trading value of double the IPO, investors are placing a higher value on the issuer's time, money, etc... then the issuers themselves did at IPO.
110  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPO 8-2-13] [XBOND] Bitcoin's Only Exchangeable Bond on: August 02, 2013, 04:03:44 PM
I considered saying "will not" to be more specific, so you are correct, I will not generate custom reports for you on demand.

We have been very thorough in our description, and if you feel the commitments being offered are not sufficient to balance your risk tolerance, I suggest you do not buy any XBONDs.

No other bitcoin bond issuer offers the level of transparency we are offering combined with features like we are offering (other than maybe Deprived, who keeps things pretty transparent through his fund-issued bonds, but does not offer exchanges).

I'll just wait for the Indexes and Futures offerings when they come about. Best of luck to you.

Cheers!

Have you seen BTCgarden.com? the coming soon has been like that for so long, I also do not like how arrogant the operator(aiwill) is, for someone who is asking for so much money I expect a more professional attitude,

The original thread also spoke of how the company was going to raise its own money but now is asking for like 16M, expensive is not always good sometimes you get the same quality from a cheaper alternative and only because you can pay is why they charge what they charge

BTCGARDEN has its own very serious issues with over-valuation and future share dilution (6,000,000 to be released on BTC-Sea), but the pump may be on none-the-less.

never see my money again? I doubled my investment in an instant and people are pissed about how they cant get in for .001 sounds like I got in at the bottom and am going to wait for my investment to mature before I just let it go, I have early adopter status as well as many of the other people who bought in at the IPO you think we are going to just let it go?

You misunderstand my point. I agree their may be a value proposition in holding LABCOIN in two-three months, but what is the value proposition in holding it right now, when you could potentially increase your holdings at a lower price. It is foolish to simply take an opposition stance that speculators are bad for the market--Closing your eyes doesn't make the world disappear. One must withhold judgement to seek understanding of others. In application: if you understand the motivations of speculators, then you can understand their choices and make predictive long-term holding decisions. I suggest there will be a better moment to buy LABCOIN then now, if you buy now then you disagree with my proposition.
112  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPO 8-2-13] [XBOND] Bitcoin's Only Exchangeable Bond on: August 02, 2013, 03:39:15 PM
Regardless of the amount raised, we already have new offerings in the works. I cannot disclose specifically what they are yet, but consider that in the past 3 months we have issued 4 AM PTs, 3 SMG PTs, 1 PMB, and this bond. We will only issue PTs of stocks we would consider holding ourselves, but surely you will see more. We are also working with a handful of companies that will IPO when the time is right. We are working on other offerings related to Futures, Indexes, etc.

1st, thank you for your reply. I do think Futures and Indexes would be a positive addition to the marketplace.

  • Could you please list here all of your previous BTC-denominated offerings, which exchange they were on, their peak market caps, and their current value?
This is all publicly researchable info, I cannot will not prepare a custom report for you.

What about this famous diplomacy of yours? I am not trying to be unreasonable, if you were applying for a loan, I expect the lenders would want this information. In fact, bond purchasers are the lenders, and I therefore expect you to provide this information before I purchase XBOND.
113  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: August 02, 2013, 03:24:16 PM
Speculators are running off to join the BTCGARDEN pump, so the price will slide as they near fulfilment of their IPO. As an investor, knowing the price may go down further from speculator exit, what is the value proposition of holding LABCOIN at the moment? Why is it currently trading at twice the capital raised? What is the story with the 3,000,000 operator shares in play?
114  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPO 8-2-13] [XBOND] Bitcoin's Only Exchangeable Bond on: August 02, 2013, 02:39:33 PM
  • If you are able to raise the 2,000BTC, what new offerings do you have planned?
  • Could you please list here all of your previous BTC-denominated offerings, which exchange they were on, their peak market caps, and their current value?
  • Also, it appears you plan to diversify your current offerings of ASICMINER pass-throughs:
    • Is this true?
    • Will you be exercising more neutrality and restraint on this board and on irc?
  • As an ASICMINER board member, do you plan offerings which are directly competitive to ASICMINER (ASIC Hardware Sales or Mining)?

Excellent contribution Namworld, this is so helpful!

To add to your work: I did the easy search/replace to adapt the BTC-TC bits for LTC-GLOBAL, and I added a function to pull the spot price of BTC (in LTC) on vircurex:

Code:
// First, Add this to the list of variables:
var LTC_key = "<insert your public LTC-GLOBAL api key>" // LTC-Global Portfolio via JSON API key (read only)

// LTC-GLOBAL #######################################################################

function LTCsecurity(securityName){
    // Fetch live security amount from litecoinglobal.com API
    // Ex: "CIPHERMINE"
    // https://litecoinglobal.com/api/act?key=InputYourApiKey
    var r = fetchCached("https://litecoinglobal.com/api/act?key=" + LTC_key)
    if ('undefined' == typeof(r))
        return 'No data!'
    r = Utilities.jsonParse(r)
    if ('undefined' == typeof(r))
        return 'Malformed JSON!'
    if ('undefined' == typeof(r['securities'][securityName]))
        return '0'
    r = r['securities'][securityName]['quantity']
    if ('undefined' == typeof(r))
        return 'Unkown Error!'
    return r
    }

function LTCbalance(){

    r = r['balance']['LTC']
    if ('undefined' == typeof(r))
        return '0'
    return r

You guys realize given Ken's most recent news this stock is massively undervalued, right?

Depends on what you value:
  • Current Hashrate (overvalued)
  • Future Hashrate (undervalued)
Shares are worth what people are willing to pay for them. i.e. the question of value is illusory

A better way of phrasing the question is: Does Ken's news increase the value proposition of holding ActM?

Answer: yes, but I propose careful investors & potential investors are waiting for two specific things:
  • An increase in Current Hashrate
  • Press release from eASIC regarding partnership with Virtual Mining Corporation LLC (Hardware branch of ActiveMining)

Cheers ActiveMiners!

What a strange day. I imagine a few more weak hands were wrenched of their shares. Hard to imagine a company (LabCoin) seeking only 7000BTC in IPO could cause such major price changes in established (ASICMINER down 3.76BTC) and up-and-coming (ActiveMining down to 0.0038BTC) player.

Any rumours trickling trough on Avalon chip delivery schedule?

Beware the mirage of ASICMINER clones, and hold tight to your shares ActiveMiners.

It just goes to show you can't make everyone happy, but you can make someone happy: Looks like about 40% of my order will get filled judging from the btct.co "My Orders" tab.

119  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 31, 2013, 02:31:29 PM
All this negativity regarding high bid prices is derivative of profit-seeking speculation. If you really value Labcoin and are not just profit-seeking from a quick turn on shares, then you should be happy that the increased price will put coin into the company's coffers and not into the wallets of speculators. Labcoin needs to make decisions for the good of the company, not the good of speculators. Don't try and regulate the free market.
