... and it's worth noting that the current record for the largest prime gap with best merit is still held by Gapcoin with a (n inferred, from "87-digit prime") shift of 30

For the record, two gaps with highest merits on GapCoin blockchain so far have been found with a shift of 32, but there is nothing magical or clandestine about 32 here!

Glad your still active here.  Thanks for your contributions, which everyone likes to build upon.

Are you using Jonn9 latest custom miner which has the option to take the highest merit block into the Blockchain?

Thanks

Glad your still around BitcoinFX,

There is work on upgrading the Private Keys, as it is the whole core of gapcoin/bitcoin.  But there is a lot of code circle jerk within the code/database.

Although, Gapcoin is upgraded, with a highly reliable Linux System, it is simplified the whole process a lot.  It is probably not possible to solve the Private Key issue without experts help.

I have a lot of notes if you are interested.  But I am still unsure, if it requires needed to keep the old key software in the code as a backup to implement the change gradually.

It is likely 1 problem, as trying to implement a removal of the old private keys with 571 Bit EC keys has issues.

But all the code stashes have not probably been located yet, that deal with Private Key handling as that is the entire essence of the thing.

I think nothing else matters at this point other than advancing work to upgrade the Private Key system.  And if anyone can anon do it PM me and I will give you the notes that way.

Upgrading the Private Keys now will give a buffer of about 5 years in which to further focus effort and time to upgrading to a full 64 Bit Sha-512 Gapcoin Code.  Which is the whole focus for the Science.  How many NASA or other Real Science projects does anyone think really run 32 bit code?  Probably NONE.

PrimeGaps are also probably not as important as we may think, as the Governments of the world probably have had for years and years their own private databases they use to break encryption with.

But, I think it is paramount importance for Citizens to have open-source database to crack encryption in the future for G.A.P's (Government Accountability Project).

I suspect too many nefarious government actors dump a lot of their evil upon Tor and RSA encryption.  And if I am right, it will be simple to go back and crack Tor and lots of other VPN's to find the government actors leading around the merry bands over the cliff to their merry little tunes.

Hiyas Cat Herders!

Follow the links for the new updated Gapcoin Wallet!

It is updated so In-Wallet Custom mining can still be done easily.

The New Kernel for Libre-Linux has seemed to have fixed the backdoor issue with the screen-saver.  So it is good to go.

Now in the future once you have more resources.

The logic of a Nexus Sat Phone linked with Nexus Sat would be ideal.

A phone that could be designed from the ground up to work on the Nexus Blockchain to pay for and service the phone.

Trying to appeal to modern phones users is a losers game.

Step up to the Next Level~
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus [NXS] - The TAO Framework Tritium, Amine, and Obsidian on: July 16, 2020, 09:30:44 PM
The 1 MB limit has other key features as well, it is not just about trimming the blockchain down.  10 MB gives huge leeway for enterprising young government sex rings to operate on using wallet.dat files.

But 1 MB would not allow anything but novelty type things and not the RAMPANT degeneration going on.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nexus [NXS] - The TAO Framework Tritium, Amine, and Obsidian on: July 16, 2020, 09:24:18 PM
Hi Mr. Colin, Hi Mr. Colin

Hopefully I don't have to flash my boobies to get your attention!

Since my Russian Honey is not here, while in the shower I fixed your ZOOKS Triangle for Nexus.

It is a rough draft multiple times for logic already, but I am sure it can be improved with care.

Nexus is the coming together of all Nodes.  How to make Nexus the real BlockNet without any external programming?

It is easy, FORGET cell phone wallets Cell phones can never be secured.

If Nexus uses it's high security blockchain to SECURE every other BLOCKCHAINS Wallet.Dat files every blockchain chained to earth can join the Nexus Revolution!

Of course that sounds easy, but hard to do, but I have the preliminary solution already.

Besides all the coding, which is up to everyone on Nexus, which dumping Cell Phone wallet development would be ideal.

Of course some peoples are larger than others and there is no way around that!

10 MB would be the ideal, but with Storage on a blockchain it is critical to trim it down.

My idea would be to require a 1 MB strict wallet.dat upload which would be tied into the persons NEXUS Tritium ID, Password, Pin and only them.  Possible for sharing keys as well, if swaps were desired for atomic swaps on the blockchains using you guessed it other Blockchain Wallet.dat files.

1 MB is key, because if someone has a extremely large size, say close to 5-7 MB they can still be backed up as well if they create a new wallet.dat file and upload it to NEXUS Blockchain and Than transfer there large wallet over to Nexus Wallet.dat backup.

Mr. Higgins,

If the conflicted in-built miner is desired for simple people to figure out it should be a more reasonable Sieve Size and Sieve Primes for the default.

Just a tip but I would make it 900 million Sieve Size and 20 million Sieve Primes as the default with shift 64.

There is not much if any drop in performance generation until you go over shift 69.

64 is special for 2 reasons.

1:  64 codons encode all 20 amino acids for DNA.

2:  64 is the number of Alexander the Great Funeral Chariots

On his death bed, Alexander summoned his generals and told them his three ultimate wishes:

1.  The best doctors should carry his coffin

2.  The wealth he has accumulated (money, gold, precious stones) should be scattered along the procession to the cemetery, and

3.  His hands should be let loose, hanging outside the coffin for all to see.

One of his generals who was surprised by these unusual requests asked Alexander to explain.

Here is what Alexander the Great had to say:

1.  I want the best doctors to carry my coffin to demonstrate that, in the face of death, even the best doctors in the world have no power to heal

2.  I want the road to be covered with my treasure so that everybody sees that material wealth acquired on earth, stays on earth

3.  I want my hands to swing in the wind, so that people understand that we come to this world empty handed and we leave this world empty handed after the most precious treasure of all is exhausted, and that is TIME.

900 million and 20 million should not blow out memory of anyone who has not configured the proper amount of memory.  As only 1 GB R.A.M. per 1 CPU will be needed if hyper-threading is disabled.  Cloud Miners can figure out how to use the daemon which is not effected with your in-built miner.  If someone is building computers with 8 CPU cores and 4 GB R.A.M. is not the target audience of desired miners for Gapcoin to mine prime gaps.

Although the optimal is 1.5 billion and 40 million for AMD
Intel is 1.5 billion and 50 million due to having LESS cores.
General rule is 2 GB if R.A.M per 1 CPU core

But if someone does not have hyper threading disabled and optimized lower voltages it will be a problem no matter what.  But it is not the end of the world if someone blows out their memory and has to restart their computer.  Hopefully making the needed changes.

It is the balance for your desired simplicity.

We will most likely be adding Gapcoin to Freebitcoins.com's tools.  I'll let y'all know if we run into any problems.

Awesome, I was looking into Uniswap, but I do not like ETH.

And for those wondering why Mr. Higgins would not even give the logic for including "Notary" into gapcoin, it is how Contract killers work on the blockchain.

And also for those not aware, what Mr. Higgins did by conflicting his software miners, from being able to use the native debug log mining code, to only allow simple mining of Gapcoin WITHOUT the memory controller.

Essentially Mr. Higgins, and all are all about trying to prove Mr. Yitang Zhang wrong.  Despite Mr. Yitang Zhang's proof being the only one which can be successfully tested using supercomputers DUE to HAVING a memory controller built into the Algo which I have already proven TRUE using hardware.

113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: July 13, 2020, 01:43:57 AM
Honestly, though Riecoin probably has no future.  Neither does Primecoin.  As Nexus Sha3 will become the Prime number generating blockchain of choice.  (Even Nexus could fail)

However Gapcoin has a glimmer of hope with Mr. Higgins threading it through onto updated Bitcoin Core Code.

The best thing about Gapcoin however is that it is currently not the epicenter of massive thefts.  Gapcoin was the only coin project who escaped the Cryptopia.co.nz theft a while back after Cryptopia De-Listed Gapcoin.

But it took someone paying 1 bitcoin around $600 in 2017 to get listed there.

Plus Gapcoin is the James Webb Space Telescopes secret admirer!

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RIC] Riecoin: constellations POW *CPU* HARD FORK successful, world record on: July 13, 2020, 01:35:23 AM
Carpe Diem,

It is hard lessons to learn, we are all up against sharks that have experience over a long period of time running frauds and scams.

Even if you cannot Code and know what to buy or what not to buy.  Just learning the various outer edges is enough.

All these coins you will see insiders know what will or not be based on the tempo of keeping up with Bitcoin Core Code.

If you look hard enough there are ZERO coins based on Bitcoin Core code that have much of any value.

NameCoin = Merge Mining with Bitcoin
GroestlCoin = Higher encryption than Bitcoin

Nearly every single other project over 1 million dollar marketcap is NON-Bitcoin code related.

Unfortunately, this space is based on theft, theft is the foundation of Bitcoin Core Code as is it being one of the few if not only C.I.A. approved Blockchain to sell drugs ect......

From what I can see, you should invest into Nexus Sha3.

It is structured similar to Ethereum with the distribution and Proof of stake.  However it is the best encryption blockchain available.  The best thing about is that it is not based on Bitcoin Core Code.

It is also now the best way to store you Wallet and ID onto the blockchain without having to backup your wallet/losing it.  No need to store long phrases in the cloud if you can make up a good enough password and pin.

115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: July 13, 2020, 01:19:23 AM
No, it is not the Gapcoin code.  Of 3 different blockchains on a new install, it is mostly likely 1 of the other 2.

But the In-built miner error is Real, which is just as bad.  But it is ok, as I assume it is set for people who like simple things.

But whatever, I tried building up the code, almost got it to compile from Jonn9 original code.

Just can't get by a Serialize.h error for the moment.

After playing with the Gapcoin code however, Jonn9 and the 0.9.2 Gapcoin code compared to Bitcoin 0.20.0 is like climbing the bean stalk.  I think it is where the giant bean stock keeps growing bigger and bigger Until the giant comes around to the little guy climbing the bean stalk and talks things over.

"Story
Jack, a poor country boy, trades the family cow for a handful of magic beans, which grow into an enormous beanstalk reaching up into the clouds. Jack climbs the beanstalk and finds himself in the castle of an unfriendly giant. The giant senses Jack's presence and cries, “Fee, fie, fo, fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!” Outwitting the giant, Jack is able to retrieve many goods once stolen from his family, including an enchanted goose that lays golden eggs. Jack then escapes by chopping down the beanstalk. The giant, who is pursuing him, falls to his death, and Jack and his family prosper. "

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: July 10, 2020, 07:09:06 PM
A fatal error occurred. Gapcoin can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: 12bignum_error
CBigNum::operator/ : BN_div failed
gapcoin in Runaway exception

While Running Gapcoin 9.4 using setgenerate true

Is it a conflict with the other miner?

I will update using the built in miner, see if the same error.

I got this error 2 times so it is persistent error using setgenerate true from the debug line.

Well, I did not get far......cannot change the inbuilt miner sieve size or prime size.  But it allows to change the shift.

Is it designed that way or is it a failure?

Is there effort to make this a dumb token to mine simple numbers?

Just curious?

I thought it would be worth trying after it compiled well.  But it seems too much of a jump at one time backdooring everything.   Just a thought anyway.

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: July 01, 2020, 10:58:57 PM
Ubuntu still does not use HTTPS to update it's operating system.  Neither does Linux Mint, it uses same repository as ubuntu HTTP.

Debian is also HTTP.

Parrot OS use HTTPS but only update possible through clearnet or VPN.

Trisquel OS use HTTPS to update the Operating system Tor, Clearnet, VPN update possible.

Deepin OS is a good operating system for GJHiggins 9.4 Gapcoin version if you want to try it.  Much more difficult to use however, but it is HTTPS update.

MX Linux I have not tried with the 9.4 Gapcoin.  But I know they use HTTPS.

AVOID Ubuntu, and Debian and pretty much anything else in between.

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GAP] Gapcoin - Prime Gap Search - New Math Algo - CPU / GPU - Zero Premine on: July 01, 2020, 10:52:14 PM
To add Tabs to the Top and bottom you Right click the mouse button and Add New Panel which will add a new panel to the top.

But you can set the computer sensor monitors at the bottom if you want.  Than right click OVER the new tab area, and add the monitors!

Highly recommended for mining.

Mate Desktop is the only 1 that is usable for mining Gapcoin with to have full control and monitor the hardware.

Parrot OS would work also, if the compile issues are ever fixed.

But Trisquel OS is the Default Free operating system.

It is easier to develop along the Trisquel path rather than rely upon Mr. Higgins to do all the work which he seems to be too busy to do except Port the other versions of Bitcoin into Gapcoin.  If he decides to NOT maintain it than the Coding needing to keep up with Modern Linux is too much.

But if we can work together and use Trisquel OS we can all surely succeed with the maximum effect with the best amount of effort!

Plus for this Project to be viable it will require updating the Private Keys and Hash Function into Sha512 due to Quantum Computing.

I have already lost/burned lots of coins due to certain issues.  So don't think of this as more than a play token.  But the learning is exceptional that not really any AI assisted learning can provide.

120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCN] Deepcoin secure hashing (CPU/GPU) New algo/ No premine/ No IPO/ PoW on: June 28, 2020, 11:37:31 PM
This is a calculated risk by the authors.

Creating a higher level encryption hash 512 bits instead of the 256 bits commonly offered.

Rigging the mast for early top heavy for insiders to cash out.  Bad distribution.

Instead of work dictating the value and distribution, it left no incentive to develop the real advancement of Blockchain Cryptography!

However I can't remember if this project had a 512 bit private key.  Or if only the hash was 512 bits.  But I think the private key was only 256 bits.
