101  Other / Beginners & Help / What is bitcoin? on: May 04, 2017, 08:38:14 PM
Hello everyone!

newbie question I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uike95OzlNk and i didnt understand
they say that mining is solving mathematics equation and every time you solve you rewarded by bitcoin

My question is:
1. from where does come this mathematics equation?
2.who think on this mathematics equation?
3.does every coin have different mathematics equation?
4.how i know the limit of the mathematics equation?
5.how I can know if the coin better to solve with GPU or CPU ?
6.who decide what coin is better or more value?

Thank you for your time!

When I want to calculate how much coin ( lets say for example ETH ) I can mine in Hour/Day
depend on my Hash rate
how I need to calculate the production of ETH coins? What do I need to calculate ? difficulty divide time divide hash rate?
I know there is calculator on the web but I am interested in the equation

Thank you for your help!!

Hello!

I want to calculate the amount of coins I can mine in a day ( I understand that its the same regarding all the coins )

If for example with 1t/hash I am mining 5 bitcoins and the difficultly going up so for example in one week I will mine with 1t/hash 4 bitcoins and in 3 weeks 3 bitcoins

I want to calculate how much my mining production degrees over time, How do i calculate that? Difficultly divide hash rate?
I know there website with calculator but they give me the information for the correct moment and if nothing going to change.
for example in 30 march 2017 i could mine 11 eth today ( 04/05) I can mine 8 so I want to calculate this scheme to the future

can you help me please how does the calculation made to see how much coins i will made per day, what do I need to calculate

Thank you for your help!

Hello

I think you are basically searching for an online calculator

you can try out this one

http://jblevins.org/btcmpc/

where you can set the increment in difficulty and a lot of things

"I want to calculate the amount of coins I can mine in a day ( I understand that its the same regarding all the coins )"--> No , it is not the same number, depends on the difficulty of the coin. Also, not all coins are worth the same. Having 100 of one alt coin maybe worth a lost less than 0.1 btc.

First of all thank you for your respond
Yes this website is great couple of question:
1.how I can know the Growth (%) ( and if I am interested to calculate ETH is there an website for this?
2. and i need to calculate Growth (%) every day depend on the last day.
3. do you know the Mathematical Equation for how much I will mine with X hash rate per day? For example : difficulty/Hash rate * time = number of coins per hour/day.

Thank you

105  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Paying TAX on: April 30, 2017, 06:34:00 PM
Law is not the same in every part of the world. This is a country specific question.
It also depends on the amount of Bitcoins you're mining. If it's a hobby that brings you $100 a month nobody should care.

You want to tell me that there is country that I will not need to pay tax?
and no I am looking to invest We purchase already 100 Mainer and we are looking the tax subject right now
106  Bitcoin / Legal / Paying TAX on: April 30, 2017, 05:52:47 PM
Hey guys Tell me are there people here who declare regarding there mining profit?
I understand that you " need " to pay tax for the profit from mining
can anyone answer or someone who know something regarding this subject?

Thanks
107  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: newbie question regarding transfer on: April 09, 2017, 08:21:10 PM
There's two ways you could do this:

1. You can sweep the funds (send the funds from the first address to the second one by doing a transaction).
Pros: Safe, gets rid completely of the first wallet.
Cons: Transaction fees.
2. You can import the private key from the first wallet to the second.
Pros: No fees, control over the funds stays the same.
Cons: Less secure because you are manipulating the private key and not included in second wallet backup.
this I know but the part I didn't understand is where do I do the transaction? When I generated the wallet on the web where does the transfer done? is there a website to access the wallet I generated or what that the part I didn't understand
thx

Hello!

Ok but if in the future I Want to transfer bitcoin from my offline wallet how does it done?
This part I didn't understand
when I creating offline wallet how i Do the transfers?
1. Transfer bitcoin from xapo to your newly generated bitcoin address with transfer option now.

2. You can import your offline wallet (you have to do this to transfer bitcoin from that wallet) to blockchain.info web wallet using private key which will be generated along with that bitcoin address (on right hand side).

3. To import private key to blockchain.info wallet this guide can help you https://blockchain.info/wallet/paper-tutorial

4. Remember you have to generate different bitcoin address (offline wallet) everytime you want to store remaining bitcoin for future if you don't want to keep any of your private keys online.

I didn't understand one part for example:
I transfer from xapo to my offline wallet 1 bitcoin then i want to transfer from my offline wallet 0.5 bitcoins to " eric " so how does in blockchain its if my wallet offline?
I didn't understand that thing if I have an offline wallet how people will know about the transaction and know and how it will synchronized ? or does every time that I transfer money from
my offline wallet it updates its status about bitcoin status how much I left and everything?

thank you!
110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: hardware wallet? on: April 08, 2017, 07:08:40 PM
What hardware wallet you recommend to store ( for a long time ) my bitcoins?
and does offline storing more recommend?

thx

I'll leave two options of which I've used before.

If you're going to store large amounts of btc and you're fairly new to bitcoin, then yes. Storing offline is recommended, if you're new or not.

and when I store offline and then I want to transfer somewhere the bitcoin how does it done the process?
because today I use XAPO and I am simple do a transfer like in a bank how does it done offline?

You can't make any transactions while you are staying offline. You'll need to be connected to the internet when you're making transactions. Hardware wallets aren't for people who are actively doing transfers, they are for people who prefer to hold their coins for a long time.

If you want to make transfers every once in a while, stick with the paper wallets.

If I dont want to do any transactions for the long time do you recommend the hardware wallet? ( Can you give me an example 1 or 2 for wallet like this? ) or do you recommend offline storage?
* I want the max secure

thX

Sorry for the newbie question but is when I am offline then I need to go online with my wallet to do any transaction and if i want to secure my wallet again i need to go offline again correct?
I have couple of bitcoins on xapo ( And I dont trust them that why I want to do secure offline ) So I want to secure my bitcoins and not to do any transactions, what is your best suggestion for me?

* And As I understand when I Have an offline wallet i need to go online with him to send money ( To xapo For example ) correct?
* do you recommend this wallet? - https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s  ( If I want to max secure for my bitcoins )
thank you for your time!

You can access the offline wallet you generated if you import the private key on blockchain.info.
Transferring btc from xapo to your new generated wallet is just like the common sending, just copy paste.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

First of all thank you for the help
- couple of question, you mention that it needed to be done on offline computer, if i have a computer that was connected to the internet but when i start it i will disconnected it and never go online again is that OK?
- Like I said I have the bitcoin in xapo do I need to transfer it to the wallet I Generate on "bitaddress.org.html"
- I Cant transfer money from my offline wallet is that correct? do i need to go online and then transfer it to somewhere or what? ( I didn't understand this part )
-  And do you have any video of these maybe step by step?

Again thank you very Much!

- You can do it both in offline or online computer but most secure is to generate in offline computer.

- You have to send bitcoin from xapo wallet to that bitcoin address (it will be in left side when generated) starting with 1xxxxx . Try by sending small amount at first

- After you send bitcoin you can check balance of that bitcoin address by visiting https://blockchain.info/address/yourbitcoinaddress

- YOu need to store both bitcoin address and private key in secure place. Yes this is offline wallet and to use those bitcoin you have to import its private key in future to web wallets like blockchain.info

- You can search for tutorial about how to import your private key to blockchain.info web/mobile wallet or to electrum wallet.

You can send me PM in future if you have any confusion, thanks

in the future if I want to transfer the money from the wallet I generate in the web you gave me how I can access my wallet? or transfer from my wallet?
I asking that because today I use XAPO so there I see option transfer money I dont understand How I will do it after I generate the wallet on the web you gave me, is there any platfrom to transfer ot something?
I dont understand how its sync if i have create on offline wallet?

sorry for the newbie questions

If you really careso much about security, than choose pc which wasn't connected to internet with no antivirus and do all that process on such computer with new and unused usd, this is the safest way, if you eant 99% security. BTW there is no probem if you use online or offline computer but be sure that you are free from malwares, keyloggers and personally I don't trust antivirus.
Here is video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=20oNcNi6WF0
most it done on this system they showing in the video? or i can do this on windows system?

The Code I generated that show ( Share ) to there I need to transfer the Bitcoin or what? ( sorry fir the newbie questions...

118  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transfer Bitcoin on: April 07, 2017, 07:23:19 PM
Step 1. Download github file of https://www.bitaddress.org/ from this link https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org

Step 2. Now unzip the files you have downloaded from above github and transfer those files to an offline computer.

Step 3. Open bitaddress.org.html file from that unzipped folder in offline computer (you can use any unused old computer which you will never connect to internet again).

Step 4. When you will move your mouse for few times, a bitcoin address and private key pair will be generated and you can actually save them in any form you like. You can just select print option and save them as pdf file or you can print it out if you have a printer connected to that computer.

Step 5. Now just move that file with private key + bitcoin address to Fully formated USD stick.

Step 6. You can scan bitcoin address area with your blockchain.info mobile wallet to watch your bitcoins or to share your cold storage address to others.

Step 7. Now just format your old computer so that it will not leave any trace of your wallet.

Step 8. Store that printed paper or USD stick in very safe place and without reach of anybody else other than you.

Hope this will help you. Good luck....

can I transfer my bitcoins on a use or something?

Step 1.  Make certain you have no virus or malware running on your computer.

Step 2. Choose wallet software for your computer (Such as MultiBit or Electrum). You can see additional options under "Desktop" here:
https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Step 3. Make sure you know how to properly use the software and that your system has the resources to support the software you've chosen.

Step 4. Install the software on your computer.

Step 5. Create an encryption password that you won't forget for your wallet if your chosen software supports that.  If you forget this password it will become impossible to ever access your bitcoins again, so choose carefully and perhaps consider storing this password somewhere secure.

Step 6. Create a backup of the wallet data from the chosen software (Each software has a different method of creating a backup.  You should learn the method for your software in step 3). Store one or more copies of this backup somewhere secure.  If your computer crashes or is destroyed then this backup will allow you to access your bitcoins.

Step 7. Get a receiving address from your wallet software. (Each software has a different method of providing receiving addresses.  You should learn the method for your software in step 3).

Step 8. Send a transaction from Xapo to the receiving address that you acquired in step 7.

Step 9. Wait for the transaction to confirm.

Thank yo very much!
I will do it and if i run to any difficulties I will ask your help you you can provide it.
by the way in the future if I want to transfer my bitcoin to any wallet do I do it through the software you mention?
You wrote "Create an encryption password that you won't forget for your wallet if your chosen software supports that" do i have an access to the wallet and when I mean access i mean transfer founds?
thx
