Just started a new Iridium pool: https://irdpool.eu Join us and help us find those Iridium blocks! 0% fee till the end of next week. just now i shifted my hashpower to your pool. I want you to donate 1% from your pool to the Dev team of IRD. You can add your commission later in some weeks

My brother bought around 400 Solaris on last September and now it is really huge money for him. Unfortunately I did not invest to Soraris in the right moment and now it looks as too expensive for me.
Next time when you hear So... pay some attention. There needs to be a how-to-do-XLR-proposal guide or something, how to pay that 50 XLR .......... how to vote ... what happens if it's not approved (you probably lose the 50 XLR, so not too many are going to make nonsense proposals.)
Personally, i dont want to write a guide for it because i dont want to encourage it. I think its OK for those rewards to go to masternodes for now. Because once a proposal is approved the budget system share of the block reward will be taken from masternode rewards and paid to the proposal address. If anyone has a decent proposal that needs funding, they should share it with us and if it is feasible and worthwhile, I am sure SolarisDev and the rest of the team will support it and approve for appropriate release of funds to support them

I hate to see Steve and IRDpoolOperator exchanging words. You guys are big guns in the IRD project. You both have an important part in this project. These things happen in teams and so its not a big deal. The two of you should just make sure that this little squabble doesnt grow any bigger that what it is now. Compromise if the need be, settle the differences, and lets move forward quick

Is that because no one is solo mining? Can you post on some major crypto discussion sites and look for assistance?
You can mine solo: ccminer.exe -a skein -o 127.0.0.1:5555 -u user -p password Config file: rpcuser=user rpcpassword=password rpcport=5555 rpcallowip = 192.168.*.* listen=1 daemon=1 server=1 maxconnections=256 gen=0 addnode=138.197.191.206 addnode=18.216.178.16 addnode=46.101.211.186 addnode=46.101.177.203 addnode=52.14.5.147 addnode=154.16.7.137 addnode=177.10.13.25 addnode=168.1.112.81 addnode=168.1.99.220 addnode=71.12.246.193 addnode=129.21.131.162 How can i mine solo with AMD? which miner software should i use?

The budget system hasn't been activated yet, as we still have funds held in escrow, but I would guess that the masternodes vote on who gets the budget. Then the rewards go to that address. The details, I'm not sure of, it may be similar to how other masternode coins work.
It's a method for allocating funds from the Solaris blockchain's block rewards to projects that support the Solaris network.
So, for example, we (the masternode owners) could vote for proposals, such as paying Salaries to the XLR Core Team. Usually, that's a good idea. Others could be marketing initiatives. Owners can vote to fund projects such as the announced exchange or vote changes in the system like block size increases (as was done with Dash) but we might not need those things considering we have 1 minute block times already.
If we take a cue from other masternode coins, I am guessing that proposals will require a certain amount of XLR to submit, maybe that's 5 XLR (I don't know the number, I am just guessing.) Then masternode owners vote either "Yes" or "No", and the net votes must exceed a certain percentage of all masternodes, so maybe if there are 600 nodes, any proposal will require maybe 10% or 60 net votes (yes minus no). Again, I don't know the numbers, maybe it's in the source code somewhere.
What can be said of the budget system and masternode governance is that it isn't a democracy. Since only the masternode owners can vote, you need to have at least 1000 XLR to vote. Since you need to be a significant investor, you are naturally incentivized to work for the good of the project.
It's also very expensive to try to force a Yes or No vote because that would require one person or group to have a lot of masternodes. If "they" do have the resources, it would be in their best interest to keep the network healthy and to make the charts go to the moon. (or the Sun.)
This is great Dabs. You serve the community as escrow and you go further to serve the community by providing such relevant info. I like that . The budget system is activated already however no one has made any proposal so far for masternodes to vote on. On the other hand we do not need any budget proposals now because we have premine funds with your reputable escrow for Solaris poject. Also if a proposal is made, MN payouts will reduce slightly because as it stands now, budget system reward goes out to masternodes since there is no approved budget proposal. Making a budget proposal requires 50 XLR

KOINBI is a one way SCAM exchange.
You can only deposit and you can never withdraw

If this is the case, i suggest that about 1% to 5% of the block reward is allocated to the development team to ensure the continuity of the project. This should be hardcoded in the source code if possible
I don't think this should be hardcoded, if anything pool operators should opt into developer donations since all the cryptonote pool software supports this feature. It's how Monero handled it, along with a simple "donate" command built into the wallet. Well then we need a miner with a built in Dev fee for the IRIDIUM devs. Moreover the Dev fee in miner softwar is usually for the developer of the proprietary miner software and not necessarily the Dev team of the cryptocurrency. And the one we use mines for the Monero team and not the Iridium Like I already said, i dont want this coin to die off becaue of lack of funding.

Steve, you should really consider getting some project funding from block reward.
Masternodes budgeting system would have been great but since we dont have it we could consider allocating a little percentage for development.
I dont have much IRD at all. I am mining with 1 AMD rx 480 But i dont want this coin to suffer due to lack of funding

##################################################### The new gui wallet ready for the hard fork is here. https://github.com/iridiumdev/iridium-wallet/releases/latestHard fork is scheduled on Friday 26th of January 2018 at block 69500. After this block, current wallet will not work anymore. Upgrade now !##################################################### Please give simple and vivid instructions as to how to go about the installation of the hardfork wallet. Not all of us are as technically inclined as the likes of you

For now, we use personal servers/vps of the community. for exchange, I don't handle this part.
If this is the case, i suggest that about 1% to 5% of the block reward is allocated to the development team to ensure the continuity of the project. This should be hardcoded in the source code if possible

Hi Steve, How do you plan on getting funding? For instance for the hosting of website, paying of exchanges, and other petty petty stuff that contribute to making a crypto and its community successful

Thanks for the input eichanin, nakashu, kepas. I also was told that it needed colour. I had 20min tonight to burn, so did 2 variations of the logo. Original: Filled: Candy box: I like the candy box

Not entirely a bad idea. Are you a developer?
Or you have simply bought a shit load of the coin that you wish to dump on those ofrom us who buy because of your anticipated 'reboot'

Hey dev, I am getting this when starting the solaris-qt linux binary: solaris-qt: main.cpp:3055: bool ConnectBlock(const CBlock&, CValidationState&, CBlockIndex*, CCoinsViewCache&, bool, bool): Assertion `hashPrevBlock == view.GetBestBlock()' failed. Aborted (core dumped)
It's wallet 2.3.2.0 and it worked fine yesterday. Any ideas? DO NOT add any addnodes Try this "through the window" method. That is what i used and it worked for me. It can be likened to re-syncing and re-indexing. Close your Solaris-qt Open your AppData/Roaming/Solaris then delete all EXCEPT for wallet.dat masternode.conf solaris.conf Then restart your wallet (launch only the version 2.3.2.0)

v2.3.2.0 wont work on my win 10 pro 64bit
I am gettin MinGW Runtime Assertion error: Assertion failed! Program: C:\users\...........\solaris-qt.exe Fail: main:cpp, Line 3743
Expression: !setBlockindexCandidates.empty()
HELP!
Try this "through the window" method. That is what i used and it worked for me. It can be likened to re-syncing and re-indexing. Close your Solaris-qt Open your AppData/Roaming/Solaris then delete all EXCEPT for - wallet.dat
- masternode.conf
- solaris.conf
Then restart your wallet (launch only the version 2.3.2.0) NB: I would recommend that you DO NOT use winodows XP for crypto wallets or other online activity that requires security for the same reason Dabs gave

What are solaris node rewards, vs mining rewards?
In other words - from each mined block - how much is going to the miners, and how much is going to node owners? is it documented anywhere?
Is it going to change in the near future?
Take a look at the PoW and PoS rewards breakdown on the first page of this forum

Really? 1,000,000 for 0.25 BTC ?!?! Thats hilarious And here you are, laughing as though it wont ever get on an exchange? It makes me wonder why you wanna buy so much

Coin Exchange and KuCoin have recent trades. AFAIK these reflect on the blockchain so I concluded that they must be synced, thus the solarisd should be syncing correctly and the problem lies with the QT wallets (?).
The trade interface on exchanges do not reflect on the blockchain. Can anybody confirm their latest blocks with ./solaris-cli getinfo
Hopefully, the solaris blockchain will sync before the end of the day

I have downloaded the new daemon/cli tools. I am not syncing in full, stuck on block 124759 (after deleting blocks and doing a re-index). Can somebody please post a working config file ?
Mine looks like this:
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcuser=<myrpcuser> rpcpassword=<myrpcpassword> staking=1 server=1 listen=1 port=port masternode=1 masternodeaddr=<vps_ip>:60020 externalip=<vps_ip>:60020 masternodeprivkey=<mn_private_key> addnode=78.145.45.173 addnode=92.108.70.246 addnode=89.169.62.37 addnode=89.65.73.101 addnode=92.222.48.122:60020 addnode=88.164.70.252:60020 addnode=84.19.184.96:60020 addnode=45.79.202.155:60020 addnode=151.236.217.178:60020 addnode=139.162.153.247:60020 addnode=80.209.234.157:60020 addnode=80.209.227.8:60020 addnode=45.77.151.203:60020
It is not advisable to include addnodes in your solaris.conf. There are seed nodes that are incorporated to your wallet. You do not need addnodes
