The pool has been extremely lucky!

http://crc.xpool.net:8830

Found 14 of the last 19 blocks with a third of the network hash!

http://crc.xpool.net:8830 has found 3 of the last 5 blocks! Throwing an additional 2.3 Mh/s at it. Come help out! Smiley

Edit:  9 of the last 11 blocks.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRC] Craftcoin - Portable Minecraft Game Currency w. Economy Plugin on: August 12, 2013, 08:37:52 AM
Just an FYI....the 20 CRC in tx fee's did not hit on block 9333 but WILL hit on block 9334.

9334 block value is currently 30.3 CRC (10+20.3 in fees). Best of luck to the finder!

And I found block 9333 on http://crc.xpool.net:8830

 Grin  Cool

http://crc.xpool.net:8830 has been updated to version 1.1.4.

This pool has been running from the start and has never gone down outside of maintenance. Smiley

Throwing 2.3 Mh/s at it now.

Thinking about the cost of a 7 GPU system vs a 5 GPU system.

Everything else being equal:

7 GPU system
Power Supply         2x$285.15            $570.30
GPU                  7x$377.36            $2,641.52
Dual-PSU ATX Adapter                      $10.00
Total                                     $3,221.82
Kh/s                                      5208
Kh/$                                      1.616477643071308

5 GPU system
Power Supply                              $285.15
GPU                  5x$377.36            $1,886.80
Total                                     $2,171.95
Kh/s                                      3720
Kh/$                                      1.712746610189001

So it looks like I would get more Kh/$ using just one PS and 5 GPUs.

This assumes I can run 5 GPUs on just one 1200 watt PS which is yet to be seen. I suppose I could try a single 1600 watt PS for 7 GPUs but I really like the Corsair AX1200i because of it's monitoring features.

First GPU installed. Starting to rethink running 7 GPUs with two 1200 watt power supply's from a cost perspective.

Big update. Case is done!

Now I am in the process of mounting the components...

GPU section:

Power Supply section:

Had to figure out a place to put the SSD and other misc componets. Velcro came in handy here:

That's it for now. Will run it as is without GPUs to get a baseline of power usage. Hope to get the GPUs installed in the next few days as time permits :/

The unofficial fork of the Craftcoin wallet and the pool they used caused a problem with the current p2pools. They used our official Craftcoin public source of p2pool without changing it to work independently. Since they had the majority of the network hash the current p2pools synced with them causing all the previous p2pool shares to be orphaned and new p2pools to be on a different share chain.

They have since shut down their pool but left the rest of the p2pools with their share chain.

To remedy the situation stop your node and delete the Craftcoin data folder in p2pool-13.1\data\

I have notified all known p2pool operators to do the same. Part of the problem with making the source public on a coin with little hash rate is individuals can do what they have done :/

Edit: Thanks TreasureSeeker for alerting me to the situation!

I live in a high rise so this is my version of a garage. Storage units for resident use. Well lit and free electricity but gets hot down there.

How do you plan on attaching this case to the rack? Very interested in this as I have an old unused server room with many 4 post racks that I'm eyeballing for a similar build.

For this first one I will use my existing rack shelves. In the future I plan to use something like this:

1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / P2Pool source code support thread for DGC - WDC - CRC - CSC - ANC on: July 30, 2013, 11:19:14 PM
This support thread is for discussion of the source code and setup of P2Pool for the following coins:

Digitalcoin
Worldcoin
Craftcoin
Casinocoin
Anoncoin

Source:
https://github.com/CartmanSPC/p2pool

Please use this thread for questions on setting up your own node and to make change suggestions. I am hoping that other P2Pool ops can help out new people wanting to set up their own. I will do my best to answer questions as time permits.

Here are the changes made in the code. If the difficulty adjustment is changed I think we can do something better than this but am not volunteering  Tongue

justin7674, consider paying more attention to the comments detail. There are two spots where you did not update the comments with the correct values.

Original
Code:
static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 1 * 24 * 60 * 60; // CraftCoin: 1 days
justin7674
Code:
static const int64 nTargetTimespan = 3 * 60 * 60; // CraftCoin: 3 hrs

Original
Code:
static const int64 nReTargetHistoryFact = 4; // look at 4 times the retarget
                                             // interval into the block history
justin7674 (need to fix the comments to say "look at 6 times the retarget")
Code:
static const int64 nReTargetHistoryFact = 6; // look at 4 times the retarget
                                             // interval into the block history

Original
Code:
        // Maximum 400% adjustment...
        bnResult *= 4;
        // ... in best-case exactly 4-times-normal target time
justin7674 (need to change "400%" comment to "200%")
Code:
        // Maximum 400% adjustment...
        bnResult *= 2;
        // ... in best-case exactly 2-times-normal target time

I would highly advise against downloading the new client for this moment. Justin, I'm glad you are helping, but I think it would be a good idea if before releasing the client, you allow Blindfolded to check it over. If nothing else, to just double check to make sure there aren't any mistakes and that your solution will truely help the situation in the more than immediate future.

Thanks for this statement!

I am releasing a client that I am sure everyone will agree with including Russ. I will be posting the source files of the files I have changed. The goal will be a manual retarget and updated retarget times to prevent future flash mining. I have repaired Bottlecaps with a similar method. The client will be posted here soon. IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO USE THE CLIENT! I am not trying to trick anybody as this is the actual block chain and none of your money will be lost!

New Client: http://script-it.net/craftcoin-qt.exe
Changes made: http://script-it.net/main.cpp

Please release the source on GitHub. Would like to compile myself after reviewing the changes.

from what i have gathered only main.cpp was changed and is located in the posts above

I did a comparison of http://script-it.net/main.cpp from justin7674 and the official main.cpp from https://github.com/craftcoin/craftcoin
There were identical.   Roll Eyes

There's a CasinoCoin lottery on Coin World Lottery -- looks like the next lottery drawing is on 8/4 and the current prize pool is 495 CSC!

http://lotto.coinworld.us/CSC/

Entered the lotto Smiley

We've been throwing around the idea of auto entering miners at http://csc.xpool.net:8840/ into the lotto. Based on a specific criteria you would get lotto tickets. Something like every 24 hours gets you a lotto entry. Thoughts?

Take your time. I don't know what the right answer is but maybe look at how some other coins handle flash-mining. I think it may be better to be stuck than go through the constant rape-mining that ARG does. Being stuck adds a level of scarcity to Craftcoin Wink
