1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 23, 2020, 12:12:22 PM
I think the ITF really did a good job initially. But as we have seen in this tournament wherein Djokovic organized, it seems that they literally not take any precautions, pre, intra and post tournament. They party they didn't follow the protocol of social distancing and stuff t hat's why Djokovic is taking the flank now.

Yep, the Adria Cup was just poorly managed Corona-wise. All those spectators (wonder how many of them tested positive afterwards) and then the footage from the party, dear lord. US Open should have better hygiene concept, few player staff and there will be no spectators. I mean, if the soccer leagues can get it done with quite some travelling, I see no reason, why the ITF would fail with all players/staff being in one place and basically not allowed to go anywhere else than hotel/venue.

Funnily Djokovic was among the players, who raised their concern about US Open and then he organized this Adria Cup so poorly Roll Eyes And he tested postive now as well.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Betting & Discussion] Chinese Basketball Association - Rest of 2019/2020 Season on: June 23, 2020, 11:48:31 AM

The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) has resumed their league on June 20th after it was paused for almost five months. As most of the Basketball leagues, there is kind of a new format. The CBA plays the rest of their games at two venues - Dongguan and Qingdao. There will be games played until July 1st, then a 3-day-break, and starting at July 4th two more weeks of play after which the playoffs start then.

I will post some bets here, please follow at your own risk; this league is crazy and there is a lot of match fixing going on. They have some special rules regarding the import players and when playing against military team Bayi Rockets there are even some additional rules. I will work out these bets together with a friend of mine, who is not active in this forum, so this is a team effort. I will try to do short write-ups/reasonings, if this is "possible".

I will use unit system 1/10 to 10/10 for the bets and keep track here in this thread. Nearly all bets will be pre-match, since the odds are moving too fast inplay to have everything transparent in here and for people to follow properly, if they want. Every now and then, there might be a live bet, when the game is in half-time or between quarters. There is no dedicated bookmaker, where the bets are played. You can find CBA markets in all bookmakers, fiat and crypto, just check for yourself, where you can get the best odds, if you want to follow.

Feel free to discuss, add some thoughts or post your own bets from CBA. This is not a thread exclusively for me to have a monologue here, but it's self-moderated, so don't spam useless stuff please.

Good luck Smiley

First two bets, starting in 10 minutes:

Shandong - Beijing HC2 -5.5 @1.79 5/10
Shandong - Beijing under 207.5 @1.73 5/10

Beijing has lost first leg with 90-95, so it's important for them to win with at least +6 today, to win the H2H.

Bets for June 24th:

Shanghai - Liaoning HC1 +12,5 @1.85 5/10
Shanghai - Liaoning ML Shanghai @7.40 1/10

Opening line was +/-6,5 which was probably fair, but +/-12,5 is definitely too much, so worth a try. If HC is too high, the ML has value then too, so small stakes on the upset as well.

3 bets for the late game:

Xinjiang - Beijing HC2 +7.5 @1.89 5/10
Xinjiang - Beijing ML Beijing @3.60 1/10
Xinjiang - Beijing under 193.5 @1.91 3/10
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [EDUCATIONAL] The Business Model of White Label Betfair Exchanges & More on: June 23, 2020, 09:32:54 AM
I found Brokerstorms which is offering exchanges powered by Betfair with BTC deposits and withdrawals. Though not sure if they can be trusted. Are you familiar with Brokerstorm and their exchanges?

Yes, for most, if not all, of these WLE, you would have to go via an agent like Brokerstorm for example. This does not sound very attractive and is a hurdle not everyone is willing to jump. On top of that, you would also have to do KYC (with the agent). An agent sounds like a shady person sitting in a dark room under a lamp smoking a cigar Grin In reality these are more or less normal companies, who maybe operate in a bit of a grey-ish area. But a lot of gamblers, even without agent, operate in a grey-ish area themselves, so no reason to worry imo.

If you find a trusted agent, you can have accounts at bookmakers/exchanges, where you normally wouldn't be able to play. There is just a middle-man, who connects you to the bookmaker/exchange and all money transfers are done via him. Please note, that all agents have a minimum deposit, so this is not for punters that play with very small stakes. The minimum is 100,- Euro (or equivalent) for most of them. In Orbit Exchange you have a minimum stake of 7,- Euro then, which has to be considered as well (if you lay a 1.01 for 7,- Euro, you only have liability of 0.07 Euro though, so you can actually play with less than 7,- Euro too).

I don't know Brokerstorm tbh. I have my Orbit account via Bet-Football, but they don't offer crypto payment. Another agent, which I have/had in my portfolio, is BetInAsia, who offer Orbit accounts and BTC payments, so maybe you want to try them.

Pre-match trading is a good way to learn the game of trading, since everything is rather slow and you are not in danger of odds going against you fast. You can stake big-ish amounts, without being too worried. But otoh the markets don't yet have the volume, like they have inplay of course. It gets better nearer to kick-off though.

A very good pre-match trader is Caan Berry. Not sure, if you are interested in horse racing - I am not - but there is still something to be learnt from him: [Screen Recording] SIMPLE Betfair Trade of £70 PROFIT - Caan Berry

Horse racing is very good sport to trade pre-match, as are the the big football matches (look at correct score market) and probably cricket, but not sure, since I have no idea about cricket.

Which sport are you interested in and want to start learn to trade ?

can we generate a confirmed payout structure for the lottery, so there is no ambiguity/disputes about how it gets paid out?

payouts should be flat/even like a satellite. we just need to know the exact cutoff where 2 people get paid, vs 3 people or 4 people etc. for instance, what happens if the total pool is 21k chips? 3 people get paid 7k, or 2 people get 10.5k?

Hehe, I don't make the rules, I just propose them and then we can discuss them Smiley In my mind, a new prize is created as soon as we get over the next 10k threshold. So at 20k chips, you would have 2 prizes á 10k chips and at 20k+1 chip, there would already be 3 prizes á 6,667 chips. Then next/fourth prize would get created at 30k+1 chip.

In last series we would have had 29k chips in the lottery pool for 3 prizes á 9,666 chips. With a low 30k+ pool, we would have 4 prizes á 7,500+ chips. But I hope that we cross 40k barrier, which would mean 8,000+ chips for 5 different players.

But nothing is set in stone, we can change this easily of course, we should just find a consensus before next Sunday.

The pictures of the rows of empty seats in Tulsa will linger. The image of Trump strolling off Marine One disheveled and doleful (...)

I was VERY surprised when I saw the footage to say the least. He looked like a beaten man, tired and worn out. I think I rarely saw a politcian with his tie just hanging around his neck and walking like a zombie. This is very un-Trump-ish, who normally doesn't show any signs of weakness (voluntarily) and always has good fighting spirit. I can only imagine this being political calculation to show a more human picture of him. No matter how tired and disappointed you are here, you can always walk 100m properly and put your tie in place beforehand Grin

he is looking very weak right now,

Yep. I wonder how much lower/weaker he can get, nothing seems to go his way right now. I guess it could get even worse - lets see what happens next^^ - but as you say, at some point in the next weeks/months, things will change for the better for Trump and he will get some momentum again. The difficulty lies in finding that good entry point to open a trade; he could go to 3.0, 3.5 or 4.0 before there is a turnaround.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Poker Odds Calculator is a Perfect Tool for Poker? on: June 22, 2020, 02:58:17 PM
It's definitely helpful when you are still learning the game and also while mastering the game, you would always want to come back to such a calculator to do some hand reviews and improve your game.

But as you found out yourself with this.....

(...)but I saw that it will remain unpredictable against the odds of your opponent.

......the real difficulty with Poker lies in guessing and anticipating what your opponent(s) hold. And this is the biggest part. If you mastered to read your opponents on any level, you will be successful in Poker. Why ? Because most of the times you won't have the nuts, full house, a flush or trips, but one pair, two pair or even nothing. And when you have some kind of a hand, but there could be a shitload of better hands, that is where the problems start. If you are good at reading your opponent, you will be able to make good/valuable decisions and money as a result. And an odds calculator can't help you with that unfortunately Grin There is some software that can assist you with analyzing your opponents, but there is a big human factor, which all players have to work on themselves.

@tyKiwanuka

why did you stop? I just found your thread and I find it very interesting

Hey, thanks for dropping by and the compliment, appreciated Smiley I didn't stop, this thread is more on hold, until there is some engagement, feedback, questions, discussions or new developments in this space (like Exbet for example). I think for now I have explained the basics of using a betting exchange and the business model of WLE's. So I was waiting for more interest or me getting more creative again Grin

There is a lot of funny stuff you can do at these exchanges, but it's a bit difficult to understand, when you never used an exchange and also difficult to explain in just written words or with screenshots to a newbie. People are using all sorts of different (trading) strategies to extract some bucks from the markets - with bots, trading software or manually. Trading on an exchange is 100x more fun than just betting with a traditional bookmaker, but I also understand, that a lot of people that just want to place their multi for the weekends football games, so this would always be some kind of a niche/nerdy thread.

are there many WLE s and which are best or at least serious enough that you get you withdrawals?

I only ever used Orbit and Fair999 as WLE's. Fair999 had ultra-risky business model and had to shut down, because people exploited them heavily. The site was still up for some time, but you couldn't get an account there anymore afaik. I never had any problem with Orbit and stayed there until now and didn't look for other possibilities. These exchanges will normally always pay you, because they take no risk themselves. You can compare it with a crypto currency exchange like Binance for example, who just provide a platform for traders to meet and take some fee for it from the trades.
The WLE's - as explained - take some risk of course, but these 20% are still ok from a risk perspective I think and if they see you constantly taking advantage of it, they will surely not pay you. As long as you don't try to cheat them, you should be fine and with them banning bad actors, they should also stay solvent.

But as I said in first post, just regularly withdraw the money you don't need on a daily basis, you never know in this space and better be safe than sorry Wink
1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 22, 2020, 01:05:20 PM
At first I thought you were indicating, that Dom was behind the Trinity Hack which happened some months ago Cheesy

After starting IOTA, Dominik Schiener described his hacking experience:
Quote
"I started hacking computer games when I was 14 and then sold these modifications and earned a fair amount of income for my age and effort. With the money, I then tried to build an advertising platform"

He was never hiding his hacker background and even talked a bit about it in a big german TV show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeHWXXWa--o

There are no english subtitles, but he basically says, that he - maybe among other things - hacked Call of Duty to become the #1 player in this game. He also sold these "opportunities" (as he calls it) to other players then. It's not a crime or illegal according to his point of view.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: June 22, 2020, 12:30:47 PM
Hard to believe they are the team that won the most Bundesliga titles (behind Bayern Munich ofc). Hopefully they manage to secure themself a safe spot. I would miss them if they relegate.

They did win only one title in Bundesliga (1967/1968), but were very successful in collecting titles before that. Them being so poor for a long time is just the result of decades of mismanagement and other clubs catching up and overtaking. After the championship in 1968 things went downhill and they never were able to establish themselves as more than a mediocre team in Bundesliga at best. They always struggled a bit money-wise and there was always some agiation inside the club. They had some highs with good players and a functioning team/environment, but weren't able to back it up longterm.

In the 80's and 90's you could get away with it to some extent, since the smaller clubs were still even poorer in terms of management and finances. But since around 20 years, you have more and more of those smaller clubs making huge progress and if you don't get your act together you will be left behind. These smaller clubs like Freiburg, Augsburg, Mainz are here to stay, because they perform very well in all regards and there is no agitation at all. And then you have the clubs with big-ish money like Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg, Leipzig. There is just no place for clubs like Nürnberg in Bundesliga anymore, unless they change their whole structure by 180 degrees. And the fans and media also play a big role in it. You aren't the big and great Nürnberg anymore - you are a mediocre team with huge tradition, but thats it. You can't buy anything with tradition. The clubs, fans, media need to be more humble and stop living from past success. Have a fresh start.

Nürnberg is a lot like many teams from the good old days. Clubs like Frankfurt, Cologne, Gladbach relegated as well, but they were able to come back big time, especially Frankfurt and Gladbach. But you also have Kaiserslautern, who just filed for bankruptcy and play in 3rd league against amateurs of Bayern Munich. Stuttgart and Hamburg are the next clubs, that could go either way. Either they will be able to follow the route of Frankfurt/Gladbach and establish themselves as an above average team in Bundesliga again or they will probably be stuck in 2. Bundesliga or lower for ages.

It all starts with the management/coach and making good decisions, but a lot of big clubs just lack in this department. They have way more money than Mainz/Augsburg/Freiburg and are also able to earn way more money, if they are successful, but they are just too dumb.

The tournaments will be played on Sundays 5PM GMT.

The series will feature 8 qualifier tournaments, a Grand Final, a Small Final, a lottery and hopefully lots of fun and suckouts. There is an internal points structure, where you accumulate points to qualify for the Grand Final. Every participation will also give you tickets to the lottery. If you are a regular player, you will automatically qualify for the Small Final.

We play Texas No Limit Hold'em, the starting stacks are 5,000 chips, blind levels are 10 minutes and there is no late registration available.

You might also want to join the Bitcointalk Poker Community Server on Discord: Join here.

The first two series:
Series #1
Series #2

Entry Fees & Passwords

The entry fee per tournament is 1,400 Chips or 0.0014 BTC.
1,000 chips you pay for registering for the tournaments directly at SwC.
400 chips you send to the SwC account "youcantwin" via P2P transfer. 200 of those chips go towards the prize pool for the Grand Final, the other 200 chips towards the lottery.

The tournaments are password protected, you will get the passwords via Personal Message (PM) in this forum, after you have sent the 400 chips per tournament to youcantwin. If you intend to join all 8 qualifier tournaments, it would be helpful, if you send all extra fees (3,200 chips) upfront.

The Qualifier Tournaments

A total of 8 qualifier tournaments will be played inside 8 weeks, Sundays 5PM GMT. If possible, register as early as possible, since there is no late registration available. Just send 400 chips to youcantwin, get the password and register for the tournament for a fee of 1,000 chips.

Q#1: 06/28/2020
Q#2: 07/05/2020
Q#3: 07/12/2020
Q#4: 07/19/2020
Q#5: 07/26/2020
Q#6: 08/02/2020
Q#7: 08/09/2020
Q#8: 08/16/2020

Internal Point Structure

To determine who will qualify for the Grand Final, we have an internal point structure, where you get a number of points for each tournament, when you finished inside the Top10.

10th = 1 Point
9th = 2 Points
8th = 3 Points
7th = 4 Points
6th = 5 Points
5th = 6 Points
4th = 7 Points
3rd = 8 Points
2nd = 9 Points
1st = 10 Points

If two or more players have the same amount of points after 8 tournaments, the average finishing position in all tournaments participated will be the tie-breaker.

The Grand Final

The 9 players with the most points from our internal point system will be eligible to play the Grand Final, which will take place on 08/23/2020. You will automatically get registered for this tournament and don't have to pay an entry fee. As in the past, SwC is sponsoring 0.05 BTC among other things for this tournament and the 200 chips per tournament and participant from the qualifiers will be part of the prize pool as well. This additional prize money for the Top3 will get sent to you via P2P transfer on SwC.

1st: 50% of Prize Pool + BIG BTC Ticket worth 0.01 BTC & a lovely SwC Flexfit Hat
2nd: 30% of Prize Pool
3rd: 20% of Prize Pool

The Small Final

Every player who joined at least 5 of the 8 qualifying tournaments, will be eligible to play in the Small Final, no matter how many points they accumulated. Players that didn't finish in the money (i.e. outside Top3) in the Grand Final, will be eligible to play in the Small Final as well. You will automatically get registered for this tournament and don't have to pay an entry fee.

The date and prize money is TBA.

The Lottery

To give anyone the chance to win some money, we introduced a lottery for the third series, which will be funded from the extra fees you send to youcantwin. With each participation you will get 10 tickets for the lottery. For every point you get via the internal point system, you will get one additional ticket. So if you played 6 tournaments and accumulated 18 points, you will have 78 tickets for the lottery. If you played only one tournament and did get no points, you will have 10 tickets. Etc.

After those 8 qualifying tournaments, the draw from a trusted member will take place via a random number generator. Each player can only win one prize from this lottery, so if you win a prize in first draw, the rest of your tickets will get voided. The number of prizes depends on the amount collected for the lottery. For every 10,000 chips, there will be one prize. If the total pool is 18,000 chips, there will be two prizes of 9,000 chips each. If the total pool is 24,000 chips, there will be three prizes of 8,000 chips each. Etc.

The prizes will get sent to your SwC account via P2P transfer. The date of the lottery is TBA.

The Spreadsheet

You can follow and monitor all happenings in the spreadsheet: Bitcointalk SwC Poker Championship Series

If you have any questions or find any mistakes, feel free to mention it in the dedicated threads or PM @efialtis or @tyKiwanuka.

Miscellaneous

If you paid extra fees upfront, but aren't able to participate in a tournament for whatever reason, the extra fee will be considered a donation, unless you request a refund. You won't get any tickets for the lottery, if you don't participate in a tournament, even if you donate the extra fee.

Any dispute should get resolved via majority decision.

With a portable radio?  Smiley

Yep, you could see lots of people with rather big-ish radios next to their ears. At that time there also were already SMS services for mobile phones, where you would get a SMS for every goal scored in the stadiums. It was for free, but slower than live radio of course.

You only needed like one person with a radio in the stands and after a few seconds the whole stadium including the players knew - it spreaded like a wildfire Grin

The upper decks in BOK Center were mostly empty and an outdoor speech was cancelled.

Looks like Trump actually got outmaneuvered by K-pop fans and TikTok users, which is kind of hilarious Grin Seemingly, they bought those "a million tickets", but never (intended to) show up. I do feel a bit bad for Trump (not sure why), but it's funny nonetheless.

(...)last round of 2. Bundesliga will be more than interesting to watch

Bielefeld will do everything in their power to crush Heidenheim, because they have friendly relationship with Hamburg Smiley And Fürth will happily lose to Karlsruhe, because they are arch rivals to Nürnberg and if Nürnberg fails to win their game at Kiel, they would go into relegation playoffs. Combo Bielefeld&Karlsruhe should be good bet imo.

Da besteht eigentlich kein Risiko, solange du deine Passwörter/Backups hast.

About the accident, it seems it was a Zanardi error in the curve also for what we have now as information the race could be "illegal" race cause COVID law and was hidden.
The Mayor of the city didn't know about it.

Yes, I read that too. He sort of lost control and drifted to the opposite lane, where a truck couldn't avoid the collision then. The fact, that there was a truck on the opposite lane makes it very likely to have been an "unofficial" race, because otherwise the road would have been blocked or some safety measures would have been put in place.
Doesn't make anything better (just explains it better) and I hope Zanardi gets well again all things considered - "stable condition" sounds already a bit relieving. That truck driver must feel very bad too, although it looks like it wasn't his fault. But he will have lifelong trauma I guess Tongue

Has anyone ever been relegated above goal difference?

Don't you remember 1998/1999 season ? Grin This was the best ever season finish in terms of relegation in Bundesliga. Standings after round 33:

Source: https://www.fussballdaten.de/bundesliga/1999/33/

Nürnbergs Coach Friedel Rausch already got flowers from officials and a big round of applause from the whole stadium before kick-off for keeping Nürnberg in Bundesliga. What happened during the next 90 minutes was crazy. Rostock won a crazy game 3-2 in Bochum. Frankfurt vs Kaiserslautern was 0-0 at half-time, while Nürnberg was trailing Freiburg 0-2 at home, but still all good. At 70th minute in Frankfurt (it was 1-1 then), things got insane. Frankfurt scored 2-1, 3-1, 4-1 in 12 minutes and suddenly Nürnberg was in huge danger, because Rostock just took 3-2 lead in Bochum as well. Nürnberg managed to score 1-2 in 85th minute and Frankfurt was relegated at that time again. In 89th minute Jan-Aage Fjörtoft made it 5-1 with a super cool stepover for Frankfurt and Nürnberg relegated Cheesy

Source: https://www.fussballdaten.de/bundesliga/1999/34/

As you can see, Nürnberg and Frankfurt had same goal differential, but Frankfurt scored more goals, so they won the next tie-breaker after GD. There was no playoffs at that time, so Nürnberg went straight into 2. Bundesliga.

The radio simulcast of second half was even published on CD, which has never happened before imo. Gazillion of people asked for it and wanted to witness the happenings re-live again Smiley

Yesterdays rally in Tulsa didn't help Trump, Bidens odds have even gone further down to around 1.80 now. The upper decks in BOK Center were mostly empty and an outdoor speech was cancelled.

Source: https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/06/trump-s-tulsa-rally-empty-seats-outdoor-speeches-cancelled-after-poor-turnout.html

While I think it's understandable that a lot of seats remained empty - who wants to be indoors with 19k other people during these times - I am surprised by the cancellation of the outdoor speech due to underwhelming crowd, since being in a crowd outdoors is not that risky and you can distance yourself better. Republicans say it was due to protestors, fake news etc., but the betting markets reacted nonetheless.

I didn't watch it all yet, just some parts, but Trump said, that he asked for the Corona testing to be slowed down, to not have that many cases. Now a lot of countries have their own methods to make the numbers look good/better - China is only counting symptomatic cases - which is just part of politics I guess, but publicly stating such things, is just stupid Cheesy

Boys boys that was the hardest moment in my life keeping my fingers away from this topic, waiting till the end and not bursting in laugh seeing Schalke infinite 0 gets beaten by Wolfsbourg 1-4. Dat goal of honor ruined a little bit my joy Tongue

Hehe, yes, what a beating they took Grin Wolfsburg looked like Bayern today, Schalke should be happy that no fans are around for the time being.

Bremen game next weekend will be interesting. They play Cologne and have to win big in order to catch up goal differential-wise with Düsseldorf (in case they draw with Union, which is very likely). Cologne and Düsseldorf hate each other, so wouldn't be surprised, if Bremen wins this game 4-0+ with Cologne showing only minimal effort and resting their best players.

I heard about how they were putting in fake crowd noise and even fake crowds (digitally rendered crowds) into soccer games.

Yep, we have it in german Bundesliga. They do take the audio tracks from pre-Corona matches and put it in. It gives some atmosphere to otherwise backyard soccer feeling, where you just hear some people talk/scream, but often times the sound is not in sync with what happens on the pitch, which makes it kind of annoying then again Cheesy It's not like there is suddenly a "goal scream" from 50k people - these are cut out - but when there is a last minute counter-attack from home team, you normally have some roar in the stands and everyone going crazy, but you just hear some general singing for now. It's not perfect, but better than nothing.

I think/hope the NFL will have some more sophisticated solution, since they are generally better with these things and have more time to prepare for it. But maybe there will already be spectators allowed come September; 50% capacity with every second seat empty or things like that. Sport needs spectators and real atmosphere.
