1001  Economy / Lending / Re: 5 BTC loan - 30+ days on: January 17, 2014, 02:24:39 AM
This should go down in history!  Smiley  Or at least be made a sticky for all potential scammers to see.

Well it should also probably be an example for people accusing others of scamming with no basis other than a hunch.
Absolutely, the table turns both ways. No, no evidence... but this is a good example of what could happen to potential scammers. Maybe it will make them think twice. Look at it as your post as the chosen one; but in a good way.

Vod I see you contacted my company and I also heard that they have replied to you. Perhaps you could post that reply here as well for all to see.
Vod, he does have a point. And please do post the response so we can all see.   Now my soapbox: While I think actions like this will deter potential scammers, I think this was done prematurely. This community have to be on the lookout for scammers, we shouldn't assume that everyone is a scammer because he simply "fit the patter of being a scammer." Technically he hasn't scammed anyone yet, hopefully we'll know for sure next week like you said. But next week isn't today. And what if this turned out to be a legit request and this email cost the OP his job? Now we're risking people's livelihood with no solid evidence. This was a rather aggressive/effective tactic, but it could've been presented with a little less accusation. I really love your passion Vod! Kiss  (Hope you're a dude or I take that emoticon back!)

On a hunch you badmouthed me both here and on the other site, and put this "trust -11" whammy on my profile here, and I have not harmed anyone.
Personally, I don't trust the 'trust' system because there are more red flags for 'fitting' a profile rather than actually meeting it. But to each his own.

Wait a sec... I've read this before. Is this a re-post? Or was this on another forum?

I plan on putting in a little bit tomorrow maybe $30 just to give it a good try with real cash.

Please let us know how it played out Smiley
1005  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Free $50 to use in our Casino & Sportsbook on: January 17, 2014, 12:31:47 AM
I don't mind giving you another voucher, so long as you don't expect to withdraw it if you don't make any actual deposits Smiley

Have I tried, even when I was way up before the slots went sour again? Nope. But yes, please do send on Smiley much appreciated! Are the slots fixed now?
1006  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinBet Casino, Sportsbook - Now offering up to 200% Match Bonus up to $10,000! on: January 17, 2014, 12:26:40 AM
Sorry to tell you that, but 0 games is playable on my phone.

Yip, I had the same issue too. They might need to recruit a techie who knows how to tune the games.
1007  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinBet Casino, Sportsbook - Now offering up to 200% Match Bonus up to $10,000! on: January 17, 2014, 12:24:43 AM
I made an account and just started playing normally. You can see the broken video poker machine I was playing on page 3 of this thread. Then I played "fast blackjack" for a while. It's also broken and won't let you bet more than half your balance. And I seemed like I was getting super unlucky, but I know that happens sometimes.

So, I just started making a whole bunch of accounts just to test it using the voucher. Didn't even care if it paid out. I created 13 new accounts and each time placed the entire balance from the voucher on either red or black in roulette. Every single time I lost. Odds of that happening on a wheel with 0 and 00 are (20/38)^13 = 0.00023779525 or less than 3 in 10000.

Do not gamble your money here until they really show it is provably fair, because as of now, I can guarantee some of these games are rigged.

EDIT: I would have kept going on roulette but my IP was blocked.

Aren't you just a genius, geniusboy91? If you realized the games weren't paying, what didn't you let them know instead of creating numerous accounts and betting max? The result would've been the same if you bet the min! They admitted on another thread that they were having issues. And they reissued credit to people who were affected by the issues. Don't you feel smart... you messed up your chance to get another free voucher, haha!
1008  Economy / Lending / Re: 1-2 BTC Loan - Repaid in 1 Month on: January 17, 2014, 12:17:06 AM
If I had something that could easily be sold for 2,000$ and I was in the situation I was in now.. I would sell it in a heart beat.
I thought giving my identity would be enough for one to easily report me if I stole. Either way it's okay if nobody can do this. I understand.

I guess you didn't read my thread in this forum... It's still near the top, you must've seen it when you posted this? Go take a looksie; feel free to join in the conversation. Point of the matter is, there are too many scams going on so lenders must be vigilant when lending. And DOX really don't have utility because those can be faked and most people simply don't have time to follow up appropriately if you default. I do wish you the best of luck coming up with the money to pay your bills though. Can you get a small loan from a bank or a local loan company?
1009  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Free $50 to use in our Casino & Sportsbook on: January 17, 2014, 12:04:56 AM
Yes, sounds lke you already lost your voucher!  I like your idea except they should be able to tell whose just a bot or whatever and cancel them - not everyone.

Right. I hate that others might miss out because we have people trying to take advantage of the system. Now, some casinos absolutely deserve it, but we should at least give a new one a try first, you know. I truly used my vouchers to gauge likeability; an excellent deciding factor for potential clients. But I it's all gone now due to issues with their system (slots not paying, 100s of spins), not because of this. They credited all of us who were having problems, but I'm sure I'm not eligible for another because I was told to stop playing if I ran into more problems and report it. I didn't though... I just kept on spinning all the way down to zero, no wins. But I'm completely okay with that because it wasn't my money to begin with! I was doing exactly what I was supposed to do with it... trying all the slots, shit. lol.
1010  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Free $50 to use in our Casino & Sportsbook on: January 16, 2014, 11:46:45 PM
Now, it appears a few people are trying to take advantage of the free vouchers, using the codes to generate 100's of fake accounts per hour, and trying to withdrawal funds via our automated withdraw options so unless this ceases, we will have to terminate the free vouchers altogether.

Great, just great people! A few bad apples always spoil it for the bunch. Now those of us who's actually looking for a decent casino has to suffer.

Coinbet, I don't blame you should you decide to cancel the vouchers. But before you do, consider that you're still ironing out kinks and no one will deposit until users confirm everything is working as it should. I can attest that as of the whee early hours this morning they weren't. Perhaps you should just create one time use vouchers. Or better yet... Cancel the vouchers and credit accounts directly. Have the users post their username here. From there, just look at their forum post count. You'll be able to determine new accounts.

Doesn't that sound like a better solution?
1011  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.9 BTC loan on: January 16, 2014, 11:16:50 PM
I would like to borrow 0.9 BTC to pay some bills and could pay back 1 BTC within 2 weeks.
Collateral: I'm getting paid 1 BTC from an trustworthy escrow for a finished website soon.
Please write me a PM for more information Smiley

If you don't have it in your possession, it isn't really collateral. Your best bet is to wait for the 1 BTC.
The website is almost ready, so it's a kind of collateral Wink

I kinda agree with that if the guy paying you for the site comes he and says its the case.

Really? Aside from the fact that you probably just set yourself up to an easy target... Well... Actually there's nothing more to say. Be careful.
1012  Economy / Gambling / Re: CoinBet Casino, Sportsbook - Now offering up to 200% Match Bonus up to $10,000! on: January 16, 2014, 11:03:27 PM
They have NEVER said that before right now.  This is ridiculous.  They sent out all these vouchers and paid out some of them and now are saying they won't pay them out anymore.

You need to wager real funds in addition to the voucher (BTC, USD, EUR, etc) to be eligible for withdrawal.

We're not in the business of simply giving away free money for you to withdrawal immediately. That would make no sense.

Huh? While I totally agree that it's not sustainable to allow people to withdraw immediately (players scam too), I thought there was only a rollover requirement (unattainable as it is for me) to withdraw? Now you have to make a deposit? I just trying to make sure I understand is all.
1013  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Video Casino -- New .0001 BTC Credit sizes! [UPDATED 12/04/2013] on: January 16, 2014, 10:57:23 PM
Congrats user wrhokage1 on your massive Slots jackpot! The jackpot was worth 160.71 bitcoins or $131,300.

Okay, you can totally tone it down a bit now, don't you think? You realize you've paid out over a half million in jackpots just in the last two months alone? With the average size if your daily client base, and the fact that the majority bet the bare min, shouldn't you be way in the red? At first these posted jackpot wins drew me in, but now they're just getting ridiculous. I can't imagine a casino taking big loses like this and being able to recoup from 10 players getting .001 on most days on average. I also find it odd that these "big" winners are new players who never return to play! Oh, except this player, thus is his second jackpot in less than two months.

The jig is up! it took some of us a lil minute to realize.... but we all know this is just a ploy to increase your client base. Move onto a new marketing strategy, for your sake. You should've stuck with the smaller jackpots... Those would've been more realistic.

~Edit~

Ok here's me eating my words - I won a jackpot! Whoo hoo!
1014  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [BEWARE] The user "Bono" is a scammer. Do NOT trust! on: January 16, 2014, 10:18:01 PM
I'm totally not surprised. So all the effort he put into justifying why he couldn't publicly post the transaction was probably just to stall until he found 'proof'

I'm curious Tomatocage, how did he pull the veil over your eyes? Can you share how you were tricked with the false proof? I mean... If he fooled you - it must've been a pretty good damn tactic. Is this something we now need to be weary of?

He didn't fool anybody -- he just stalled for time. He showed a transaction on the date/time that he claimed to have sent chairforce1. However, the address didn't match up, but he claimed that's what chairforce1 had sent him.

Gotcha! From your experience, do you think this was the setup from the start? Make the deal, send coins to self at precise time, play victim?
1015  Economy / Lending / Re: 1-2 BTC Loan - Repaid in 1 Month on: January 16, 2014, 10:11:26 PM
So do some of these requesters not read a couple of threads to try and gauge their chance? I don't understand why one would submit a request like this knowing it would be denied for obvious valid reasons. Desperate, brave, stupid, scammer?

1017  Economy / Lending / Re: Loans and the acceptance of DOX on: January 16, 2014, 06:03:05 PM
This is why many ask for collateral greater than the value of the loan request.

Selling collateral for BTC takes some time (and time = money), and the collateral can diminish in value over time, so by asking for collateral of greater value than the loan, the lender is at least sure he won't lose any money.

Makes sense Smiley But please allow me to play devil's advocate...just trying to understand from all sides.

What if the reverse happens, the collateral coin increases and bitcoins decrease, or maybe the collateral coin stays the same but bitcoin drops? In that scenario, who's more insured? Also, doesn't the interest on the loan serve the same purpose; pays you for your time, the risk involved, and so on. And if that's the case, are lenders double dipping?

Before I get attacked (in general) .... I support collateral and charging interest! I'm only asking Smiley

Now you can't even logon,   I think they may be shutting down.

Damn it! This was my number one spot. Guess I can stop waiting.
1019  Economy / Lending / Re: Loans and the acceptance of DOX on: January 16, 2014, 03:14:50 PM
Because this is how it used to be done ~2.5 years ago, and it nearly led to the (what would have maybe only have been temporary, however, we will never know) ruin of the BTC economy, and would have, if some people didn't bail out thousands of BTC of default from their own pockets.

EDIT: This is the tldr version of the story.

So why wasn't legal action taken? Or maybe perhaps point me to the story? I'd like to read it.

It's a cryptocurrency, governments don't regulate them, therefore there can be no action taken.

Thanks for your input! But is this really true though? I though there are a few cases pending, albeit not on a a little personal loan level... But I wonder how this factor would play out for the little man. Sickening how we're taxed but taking legal action seems to be a challenge.
1020  Economy / Lending / Re: Loans and the acceptance of DOX on: January 16, 2014, 03:07:31 PM
With the expense of hiring a lawyer, filing fees, court costs and wasted time.......is it really worth it to collect .07BTC? Look through the loan section, most of the requests are well below 1BTC. After reading for a bit you wouldn't ask this question.
This is why many ask for collateral greater than the value of the loan request.

An attorney for a small claims, really? I'm curious if there are stats out there, a lot of small claim courts in the states don't allow them, so that actually skews the number anyways. The fees... yeah there's definitely that cost. Where I am it's about 30 bucks which isn't too far from the average, but of course can be more depending on the amount. Chances are you're not going to get paid anyways, if it got to this point, but why not add those fees in your claim.

I've read many of requests and it's exactly why I'm posing the question actually. I'm not against this practice at all. But there is that bigger picture I talked about earlier. Do you think req DOX might discourage scammers in the least little way? I would imagine the number of scams would decrease, among other things.  the overall goal would be to change the current lending scene... eventually. Smiley

Thanks for your input, keep em' coming! Oh, can you elaborate a little more on why collateral is greater than the loan request?

An attorney, really? Yes! Since many loans aren't even in the same state and laws vary state to state and since I don't know the laws for each state, yes. Without collateral, it's a crap shoot. You also are forgetting many scammers have been doing this a long time and use multiple accounts and make new ones all the time.
The "current lending scene" has already been changed due to scamming.
Many of your questions have been asked and answered over and over.
If you want to ask for loan with DOX only, be my guest.

And the fees vary from county to county, yes I get that. Regarding the multiple user accounts, what does that matter if they have to provide DOX? This isn't my landscape, but I think I recognize a by product of the shift; lenders are scamming at a higher rate. You never did answer why the collateral is worth more than loan itself. I know this isn't the case with all the loans, but since you mentioned it Smiley

Again, I'm not championing doing loans without collateral, I'm just curious as to why they're not accepted is all.

And shame on you KWH. If I need money bad enough, which I don't, I'd go to my bank, not this forum. Not everybody who pose a loan related question wants your coins. I'm sure there's a new loan request posted you can go entertain, but there'll be none of that thinking here, cool? Smiley not that we are... But we still friends?? I'm not saying you did, but I know some people have gotten negative feedback and pinged as a scammer just because.
