1001  Other / Meta / Re: Why do some users have green text in their trust and others (like me) have not? on: September 08, 2015, 11:50:48 PM
Been wondering this for a while.

Do you mean the black vs light green vs dark green positive trust?

Recently (today) I first noticed someone people have positive trust that is black (not green).

Is there any significance to this?

It's black if it's positive but lower than 5. Light green between 5 and 14. And dark green when it's 15 or higher:

1002  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to Buy BTC with Paypal? on: September 08, 2015, 11:00:00 PM
with paypal people could scam you even for only $8

Yes... I know.

But even after many confirmations on blockchain?

problem is not on bitcoin side, but on paypal.

simply, because bitcoin TX is non-reversible and paypal TX is reversible. considering this, is quite stupid idea to accept such deals and trade bitcoin via paypal or vice versa.

I recommend you to withdraw those bucks from paypal, go to localbitcoins.com, meet somebody personally, chat about bitcoin with him and make a deal. personally and in real world.

If a bitcoin  transaction is non-reversible, when I receive the satoshis I could make the payment via Paypal. I won't lose the received satoshis.

For me it looks good.

What's the problem with this idea?

Sure you wouldn't lose the satoshis, and may never send the PayPal funds (who could force you?) or even if you send them you may charge back several months later (so not even an escrow could force you to fulfill the deal). So of course there's no risk for you at all with the method you propose.

The problem is for the other party. Nobody will/should deal that way.
1003  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 08, 2015, 08:39:46 PM
Since this seems to be a common practice I decided to remove the neutral feedback I had left on QS' profile just because I won't leave feedback everywhere.

It is NOT common practice.

I want to believe that. As I said I really don't like that practice at all. Probably at least a neutral is required to discourage using their escrow services. The problem is we'll never know who else does that or how common it is.
1004  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 08, 2015, 05:49:13 PM
Why the double standard?

Tomatocage did the same thing with his alt extraKrispy but he has seen as one of the most trustworthy people here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=793183.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=257307

I'm not saying I don't trust tomatocage but what's the deal with double standards and witch hunts?

Is it a fact extraKrispy is an alt of tomatocage? Where's the proof? The linked thread doesn't suggest that.

Edit: I've been pointed out here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=938340.msg10358524#msg10358524

Indeed extraKrispy seems to be an alt account of tomatocage. I must say I'm disappointed at TC. While I don't think acting as escrow for himself is exactly scam I do think it's wrong. The same (or even more) applies to leaving a positive feedback to his own alt, especially from a DT account. The minimum TC could do is remove that feedback and stop doing that.

Since this seems to be a common practice I decided to remove the neutral feedback I had left on QS' profile just because I won't leave feedback everywhere.
1005  Other / Meta / Re: Recovering hacked account on: September 08, 2015, 03:30:31 PM
Here you posted a message implying you control the Twitter account @kevinguillem. It's possible the hacker got that account too so it's probable not enough to recover the account but if you prove you control that account (and due to the change in activity of that account since its password was changed on the 15th of August) then I'll leave a negative feedback on Skatebird, at least until more information is provided. You can just tweet something like "This is Sk8tebird at bitcointalk" or similar; or DM my account @ecuamobi if you prefer, I'm temporarily following you.

A negative feedback can at least make the hacked account useless and force/encourage the hacker to give it back, as it has happened before.

Edit: Done
1006  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 07, 2015, 06:18:23 PM
I dont see the negative rating you claim from dooglus
I didn't mean he left a negative rating, I meant he negated QS on the DT as in "~Quickseller" shown as "Quickseller"

and by the way the removal won't mean any change in his trust score right?
No, it doesn't. It just means QS' feedback is shown as untrusted by default.

And btw TC hasn't yet taken out QS from his trust list AFAIK.
He doesn't appear on either TC's or BadBears's list on my side (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;full), probably there's some cache.
1007  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 07, 2015, 06:07:54 PM
Lastly I had a question, does you removing QS from defaulttrust mean he is kicked out of DF altogether or will he just drop to a lower Trust level?

At the moment both TC and BadBear removed QS from the DT and dooglus has him negated. As a result he has '-1' on level 2 and therefore can't be on any other level, regardless of how many people from DT levels 2+ add him.
If a single person from level 1 adds him then he'd be back on level 2 as I've seen '0' is enough to be there (unless that logic changed recently).

1009  Economy / Reputation / Re: I am doing an update on my trust list. Please give input. on: September 07, 2015, 11:53:52 AM
Most of the users I trust are already in DT. Here are some who aren't and you may consider:
b!z
devthedev
monbux

You could also check the list for users who are on DT level 2 only once and add them again just in case if you trust them, or explicitly negate them if you don't.
1010  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 1 BTC Loan for 10 Days on: September 05, 2015, 06:22:06 PM
Hello Friends,

I have recently got into bitcoin cloud mining and looking to buy more hashing power.

So I am looking for a loan of just 1 BTC for 10 days...

I will share the cloud mining account details with the Loan provider.

You can take all total earnings for for the 10 days.

Anyone interested then please PM me soon.

You're not offering a valid collateral. The collateral should be worth more than the loan plus interest and be sent before receiving the loan.

If you don't have a valid collateral to offer then you should lock this thread immediately. Otherwise you'll get negative trust in a few minutes.
1011  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: on: September 01, 2015, 11:38:56 PM
If you send, I will post there in the same instant and explain it is all settled + send pm once to everyone explaining it is settled and ask for negative rep to be removed + close thread + delete all posts I did about you
1EfXSoomfeX9sxUcD5KLfyqDB22Su3tEyw same address I sent you payment from. 5 pm. Not sending this will make it crystal clear to everyone you just want to keep all the money and are lying. Naturally this private message will also be used against you.
Have a nice day.

His first refund: https://blockchain.info/tx/9ac33134c94b7155f41d8f21406aea9bd73f633b94895734c33b163528ac22a2

His second refund to which we 50/50 split the shipping fees: https://blockchain.info/tx/d6bd567ff731273663b0e23db9d534cb41e3fde311e56305ffa65eac757d4d99

Settled.

Looks like he never PMd anyone, didn't explain this was settled, didn't close the thread and didn't delete a single post.

I still needed to post this so it's on the record. If anyone is still even reading this who left negative trust will you please remove it and maybe not jump the gun to take sides with a new(er) member and to instantly leave negative for a reseller who has been here for years with plenty of positive trust in my history.

Peace.  Cool

I've verified the address 1EfX... is the same waldohoover sent the original payment from (as shown on OP) so I've removed my feedback. I'm glad this is solved. It would still help if chalkboard17 signs a message with the address 1LGpnsY37LjehreTfAp1PiR7H7e6s8ufos to clear any doubts. I hope waldohoover will post soon to confirm everything is settled now.

I confirm the address posted by the lender (shown on my signed message) has now received the full amount. I'm ready to send the collateral to a FTC address given by Joebrann.
No need @EcuaMobi, you may keep the 2700 FTC for acting as escrow in this thank you very much.

Thanks,
Joe B

Thank you very much Joebrann! I really appreciate it.

1014  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SirZelmer = AgeofCrypto = Scammer !!!! Thief !!!! WARNING on: August 25, 2015, 10:40:59 PM
I've left a feedback on SirZelmer's profile. May I ask why you trusted him with BTC1.5 considering he's just a Full Member without any trusted feedback and on his last untrusted feedback he's being accused of scamming? Sorry to point out the obvious but you can always use escrow. If someone refuses using it then you can be sure he's trying to scam.
Probably you will need to post the whole conversion of further proof only if SirZelmer posts here with another version of the story. For the moment can you post the address where you were supposed to receive the coins along with the link to open it on the blockchain?

You are absolutely right. I am not terribly experience with forum trading, I was on a streak of successful trades and his profile seemed legit enough. I guess I let my guard down and I ignored the red flags, such as his way of addressing me. This is the first time I have a problem. Definitely a lesson to be learned here for me.

I was avoiding posting my Sia address to protect my identity a little bit. I will be happy to PM it to you if you want, and if really necessary, I can post it on here as well, but I'd rather not. Hope you understand.

You already posted your Sia address on the image. It just extremely difficult to copy and paste it from there. I think the closest you can get to prove he really never sent the coins is to point us to the Sia block explorer with your address, and it shouldn't affect your privacy posting a public address.
And it's always best to use escrow, even with 'legit' accounts, especially for deals of that amount! I'd never refuse using escrow and I'm sure no honest member would no matter how trusted his account is.

1016  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan 8 btc (or 1300$ on perfect money) on: August 25, 2015, 05:45:06 PM
What collateral are you offering?

What can I offer?
at least 9.6 btc worth of a stable altcoin. Or something else that is worth at least that amount. Before you offer, no your account is not worth that much.

If I offer you my dedicated server with i7 4770 (value 60€/month)? Wink

That is not valid collateral. Any collateral you offer must be easily sold for more than BTC9.
If you can't give valid collateral you won't get a loan for that amount here.

That aside, can you sign a message with an address posted long ago? The fact you just reset your password and now are asking for a huge loan seems suspicious.
1017  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [Need] 3 BTC loan on: August 25, 2015, 03:53:46 PM
Today we agreed to replace 8 expiring domain names with this one: btchost.org

And we agreed to -0.4BTC to loan for those 2 domains: primefaucet.com + btcbet.pw.
So the loan pay (final amount) will be reduced for 0.4BTC in total.

I pushed domains to EcuaMobi and waiting for him to confirm all this.

I confirm this is correct and that I've received all 3 domains: btcbet.pw and primefaucet.com (as a sale for 0.4 BTC) and btchost.org (as collateral)
The pending repayment for this loan is: 2.2625 BTC.

liteon please confirm your namecheap information to push back the 8 expiring domains.

Yes, my Namecheap Username is ubercoin.

Thanks. These 8 domains have been pushed to your account: mosthated.org, findgirls.org, coinhost.org, microbill.org, btcwings.com, bet.pink, btcdating.com, microcasino.org

1019  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DjVoodoo/Crazytragator sent me fraudulent Amazon cards and demanding payment on: August 24, 2015, 10:20:28 PM
There are two separate problems here:

DjVoodo: do you deny it was a stolen code or a code obtained with a stolen credit card or any other illegal means? Are you recognizing that accusation? How exactly did you get that code? Were you surprised at all with the news that Amazon cancelled that gift card?

turtlehurricane: please post the receipt you got when you sent that item back. Also any emails or other communication with the seller. I'm sure you got something.
