1001  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: June 28, 2015, 09:57:38 AM

If you look at the price of litecoin rise recently its quite amazing how it was around 1.20 to 1.40 and then all of a sudden it can sustain a rise to $3 and stay there.  Crypto can move up and sustain prices fast is the lesson.  You ill see those prices again OP dont worry Smiley
1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Volatile Bitcoin still isn't money on: June 28, 2015, 08:45:51 AM
Do you think the volatile Bitcoin could be money?

Its adaptable enough to fit any of the definitions economists want.  Why cant it be a few things, the internet is a information transfer platform which allows you to transfer information is a variety of ways.  Bitcoin is the same thing but for value transfer.
1003  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-E Hacked on: June 28, 2015, 08:40:53 AM

1004  Economy / Gambling / Re: Branching out from dice... Any suggestions? on: June 28, 2015, 08:20:53 AM

Does anyone here have any suggestions?

What other luck-based or skill-based games would be the most suitable for someone whose gambling experience has been mostly restricted to dice?

Try out poker for a while on a regular basis, sign up to a training site, try to actually beat the lower stake games.  Its a good thrill to know you can beat the competition.  Just make sure you never decide to go pro, its a very bad decision for most Smiley
1005  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: June 28, 2015, 08:17:07 AM
This, on the other hand, has much more potential in creating an actual rally.

cheers

248$ and increasing,

Yeah looks like we have another move up but we must break firstly $250 and next we need to break the highs of $260 after that if we make it past we'll probaly go right up to $300 without resistance.

There was a fairly big dump the last time we got near 260 but the price is slowly starting to creep up again. The next time we get near 250 there should be less profit takers prepared to dump. That should make it much easier to break above it the next time.

$250 looks to be well and truly down as a barrier, $260 is important and maybe $266 since its got so much history at that level.
1006  Economy / Economics / Re: UK income TAX brackets on: June 28, 2015, 08:06:21 AM
I never know that UK has this sort of stringent Tax rules, I feel in the current system there is more correlations exist between Tax and Interest rates, is there any work around to be in this world or in any country where we can lead our life free from Taxes and Interests.

Im actually pretty pleased with it hearing how it works, getting 10k non taxed is great for me i can actually live on less than this as not into hardly anything material possessions wise.

If me and the mrs want we can both earn 10k, not work too hard and have 20k a year tax free if things dont expand further, our working lives would be easy.  We have no kids, no pets, not into cars i'd prefer to not even have one.   Only thing we want is perhaps a half decent house so might need to earn more for that reason only.

where are you from and how different do taxes work there? (anyone feel free to answer)
1007  Economy / Economics / Re: Lets "accidentally" show the bitcoin logo on live TV on: June 28, 2015, 07:59:00 AM
I like this idea and guerilla marketing methods:) and yeah, he is some bitcoin trader and economist..

Its becoming more popular to drop bitcoin into media as if its the natural answer, they dont even need to mention it because obviously right.  The question is how planned the marketing is, in this case it looks pretty planned. Grin
1008  Economy / Economics / Re: MtGox VS Bank bailouts. on: June 28, 2015, 07:55:30 AM
I was just thinking of the 2008 bank bailouts, then I thought of the money lost in MtGox. I'm curious what you think. The bank bailouts seem to have cost us (citizens of USA) 21 billion dollars. MtGox lost stole 240 million dollar's worth of bitcoin (valued at $1200 each). Is bitcoin really that much riskier than cash? I would say no.

The bank bailouts are just theft from the tax payer, we didn't want to bail anyone out at our cost.  Let the banks die and new banks who are competent take their place.  Now we are stuck with the same morons who made mistakes the first time.  No lessons have been learnt its fking BS.  I lost money in gox and it hurts but exchanges have got better as a result.
1009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My new way of getting rid of cold callers. on: June 28, 2015, 06:53:19 AM
We all get them, they come knocking on your door and the first thing they say is "don't worry I'm not here to sell you anything.. "

But, that's exactly what they are doing.  They are sales persons trying to earn commission.

We get them weekly. Windows,  roofing,  charities,  insulation,  solar,  the list goes on.

So today they knocked on the door again while I was about to have tea and I said the following.

I respect my privacy so if you are going to ask my name I'm not going to give it
If you are going to ask for my phone number or email address I'm not going to give it
If your going to ask for my bank details I'm not going to give them.
I am however happy to support your organisation and if you provide your companies bitcoin address I will make regular donations.

Then it got me thinking how would I setup regular standing Orders to a specific bitcoin address.

Haha i really hate cold callers also but if we made it even easier for them to earn a comission (which you have here) you will have even more showing up on your door.

In the UK we have a 2008 trading standards act which doesn't completely stop the cold callers but since i put stickers up on my door about it they haven't knocked in months.

Cold callers are a major pain in the arse i feel bad for people getting hit with them.  They are like real life spam.
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is this guy showing bitcoin logo to the world ? on: June 28, 2015, 06:47:55 AM
lol is that real? if it is then he must have wanted for the world to see that picture. maybe he's sending a message to the world, something like "get the hell off of fiat!"  Grin

It's him, i know him irl and i'm sure he did it on purpose

What purpose? introducing Bitcoin to the world?
I think it's a nice idea Cheesy

Over at russia today they are pumping the shit out of bitcoin for years now.  The media owners are likely huge holders of the coin. The other idea is max keiser has told all the different workers to buy up a little bitcoin and this is why we so much pro bitcoin pumping.

1011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any other way to earn Bitcoins on: June 28, 2015, 06:44:48 AM
Would be cool to have a bitcoin fiverr.

Thats actually a pretty good idea currently people just use the service section in this forum.

As regards other ways OP there is trading/sig campaigns/escrow just a few ideas.
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Conservatives vs. Liberals in Bitcoin - Will we or will we not change? on: June 28, 2015, 06:42:10 AM
Recently many discussions are forming from different sides and ideals for some sort of major or minor CHANGE.

I believe the best future for bitcoin is to preserve the core of the code and ideas and ONLY patch SECURITY issues as they come up.

I want bitcoin AS IT IS and DO NOT wish for it to "upgrade".

Upgrade… And I Show You How Deep The Rabbit Hole Goes.

Your thoughts.

Adoption should heavily influence your views imo, we want as many people using bitcoin as possible.  We can always create more crypto in the future thats the beauty of it.

1014  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I got scammed 31.2k in BTC recently on: June 27, 2015, 05:52:11 PM
I traded 31.2 btc for 35k cash deposit. I was stupid enough to send him the btc first. All I know is his phone number, name (I think it's real), and country and have a picture of him. That's all I got. What can I do with this info? And is he gonna be arrested?

Please help me out here. I don't know what to do. Thanks.

So how was the day? are you serious man, you sent 32 btc to a person you dont know him.?

I am not joking. I'm 100% serious. I sent 32,000 btc to someone for 35,000 cash deposit to my bank account. And now they are not responding.

Edit: I have done over 150k trades with people that I know. He was recommended by a friend of mine as my main supplier was out of cash to deposit.

What can I possibly do? Please help

You bought 32 bitcoin for $35k thats nearly $1k each, did you take a look at the market price currently?
1015  Economy / Gambling / Re: Womens World Cup, Who will win? on: June 27, 2015, 01:01:49 PM
I think whoever wins the semi-final between USA and Germany will win the world cup  Cool

Do we know they will face in the semi if they both go through? i think they are playing after eachother but maybe the draw is different.
1016  Economy / Gambling / Re: [HELP] what's the best wining method of Roulette ? on: June 27, 2015, 01:00:14 PM
after reading all replies in this discussion , now, I realized that there is actually no wining trick for roulette. Thanks to all  Grin Cheesy Smiley

Nope because generally casinos dont want to pay someone to sit on their butts.  If it was possible for people to beat games in simply ways then the whole economy would crash.  There are things you can gain edge over like counting cards in black jack for example.

If you are just playing for fun i suggest dice since it has the lowest house edge of all but just play for fun only.
1017  Economy / Gambling / Re: winning tricks Calling Outs and ODDS Poker (POKER LOUNGE) on: June 27, 2015, 09:16:46 AM

Math tells you the probability that your hand is going to win at showdown.

Do you seriosly think this is the only one application for math in poker? Also lol'd at being top3 in 80% in mtts

Quote
it's good when some of you base all your decisions on math -- you help me win more

Every poker decision is based on math, some people just dont understand what it means.

This thread is pretty tilting actually. People thinking that math in poker is like sitting there with odds calculator, trying to figure out can you call with your flush draw or not, and rest of the poker is PSYCHOLOGY. Lol. Is it 2004 again?

Haha wish it was 2004  Grin

Math is used to make every single decision in poker, psychology is used where possible to help narrow down the probability of certain outcomes.  Every bit of extra information you get from psychology should be converted back into mathmatical odds BEFORE you make a betting decision.

1018  Economy / Gambling / Re: [HELP] what's the best wining method of Roulette ? on: June 27, 2015, 09:07:28 AM
I'm recently playing bitcoin roulette. I'm currently using martingale method, but, it seems to be very risky to me, because 6-7 consecutive losses in total is huge

0.001 BTC loss
0.002 BTC loss
0.004 BTC loss
0.008 BTC loss
0.016 BTC loss
0.032 BTC loss
0.064 BTC loss

Total = 0.127 BTC loss in 7 rounds

So, what's the best wining method of Roulette ?
The best way of winning is simply getting lucky. I would recommend playing for fun and listening to your guts. Though the 3.6% house edge on Roulette is pretty huge compared to industry standard in the bitcoin gambling world, so if you want a better chance of winning you should move to a game with less house edge than that.

would you mind please to explain the 3.6% roulette house edge? thanks

Depends what roulette wheel you are using euro or USA style but lets say it has a single zero:

You have 36 numbers and a 0, you get 35-1 paid out on any number but the true odds of hitting any single number are 36-1.

You get 2-1 payout on a red or black but the 0 = green.   The zero is basically the house edge.

1019  Economy / Gambling / Re: Womens World Cup, Who will win? on: June 27, 2015, 09:03:34 AM

What did i say about france they were the much better team vs germany, should have beat them 3 or 4-1 in the game but missed chances.  Germany on penalties are just as good as the mens dam Sad

Think the best team in the competition may have just gone out.

as i know germany women football is powerful
im prediction germany women football will be the champion

They are a good team sure and perhaps they had an off day but i watched the game and france were all over them, they got very lucky to get the equalizer not really sure they should have got the penalty award.
1020  Economy / Economics / Re: UK income TAX brackets on: June 27, 2015, 08:59:57 AM

Well the possible deductible things wont change no matter what bracket you are in or do they?

Yup, that was just a side note. But the more you earn, the more it pays to deduct all your expenses to keep the taxable income low. Most small businesses/self employed are not even aware of all the possible deductions.

...and if you earn say 33k in a year you'd be better off stopping your earnings at 30k wont you? (you'll pay 40% on everything over the personal allowance if you break above 31.7k?)

No. You only pay higher rate on the earnings above the lower bracket, not on entire amount. That's the point. You pay nil on PA, 20% on £10,600 to £42,385 and 40% on £42,386 to £150,000.

Try this calculator:

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tax-calculator/

Enter for example gross earnings of £50k/year and you'll get the effective rate (tax paid/taxable wage) of 23.9% (not 40%).

OK thanks pawel that is awesome, maybe i need to enquire to hire you to do my accounts when the business is earning a little more.

It seemed logical that you wouldn't pay 40% on the total amount above PA but then i hear people of stopping their business for the year because they dont want to hit the next tax bracket.... perhaps what they must of meant was they didnt want to work just as hard for 20% less money ongoing (jump from 20%-40%).
