1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 20, 2023, 12:44:10 PM
So why this belief or do you think it could be true? Or is it one of those superstitious belief among gamblers?
Do you feel cool sharing your predictions with other people and how has the outcome been looking at all the times you have shared your predictions with others?

Gamblers have all sorts of superstitions. And worse they refuse to agree that it is a superstition when it is pointed out to them or even change it. They are the incorrigible sets of persons on the planet. Show them a glaring evidence or try to persuade them to change their view point and they'll immediately pick an offense.
Gamblers like that that doesn't take the admonition not even from those fellow gamblers close to them as friends they're usually a hard nut to crack, and if they eventually falling into addiction it's very hard for them to accept and retrace their steps even when they are heavily bearing the cost of their addictive attitude. I can't deal with such people so I learn to stay away from them that I don't get use to being offensive all of the time we meet.

Quote

Telling someone what you staked and them making the same bet isn't going to change the outcome. It is just like me betting that we'd there is going to be a storm and someone else placed the same bet as I did on the weather. This isn't going to change the outcome of what the weather would be...that it why it is a prediction.
Except for ignorance I don't think a gambler would be scared or refusing to share his predictions with another gambler. If we win we win together likewise if we lose we lose together it has nothing to do with a twist of fate affecting the outcome of predictions. So it's just a behavior  fed by ignorance.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are no KYC casinos taking risks? on: September 20, 2023, 10:51:33 AM
Fraud cases are becoming a real problem for gambling industry, from schemes like bonus hunting, account farming, account hijacks and illicit chargebacks on the rise I believe that many new casinos aren't prepared for the menace ahead.

Some casinos still believe that not asking for KYC is cool, but it's actually not, I see casinos with no kyc as a red flag because you can't run your business this way without getting into trouble with regulators.

Casinos neglect identity check but little did they know that they can be fined for it, if fraud cases arise from your casino and it's been investigated, your business is going away soon or you pay up for fine. One, for failing to screen customers using the KYC process, two, for possible running of unregistered casino.
Yet with those casinos that are demanding for casinos still get cracked down by the authorities in the case of a fraudulent allegations arising from or through their casino or company.  No demanding for identity check by no KYC casinos doesn't mean they don't have security measures to ensure that customers don't flaunt the system.

Even with kyc some dubious customers still manipulate the identity check process by rendering fake identity. Now how's that usually possible if the KYC casinos are said to be the best in your opinion?

Fraudulent cases are peculiar to both kyc and non-kyc casinos and businesses, it's left for users to also take responsibility of their security too in the best way they can while the company does theirs.

Quote
The requirements says it's all, so is it possible that those casinos doing their no KYC stuffs are not even registered?
Same with those asking for kyc not all are registered that's why we all advise to make use of reputable casinos that have gained reputation over the years. You can't tell me that all no kyc casinos are not registered cause that's not correct.

Maybe you need to read this too Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless : 1miau
1003  Bitcoin / Mining / Whats your thoughts: Next-Gen Bitcoin Mining Machine With 1X Efficiency Rating. on: September 19, 2023, 11:17:53 PM
First of all let me make it clear am not a miner and have a little or no clue about mining as am not a tech savvy. All we do on the other side is to trade and hold in addition to having some security knowledge. Now let me stop here on that note. Lol.

So guys I stumbled on this article while doing my normal reading routine and I decided to bring it here to know how miners in the forum will react about this development by freely expressing their take about  it by way of a discussion.

Microbt Plans to Launch Next-Gen Bitcoin Mining Machine With 1X Efficiency Rating.
Quote
Source: https://news.bitcoin.com/

On September 19, 2023, Microbt, the manufacturer of bitcoin (BTC) application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) mining rigs, revealed its intentions to introduce an innovative mining machine with an efficiency rating of 1X joules per terahash (J/T). This announcement from Microbt closely follows Canaan’s recent release of the A1466I, which also claims an efficiency rating of 1X J/T or approximately 19.5 J/T. Meanwhile, Bitmain is gearing up to launch a new series later this week, anticipated to align closely with this efficiency benchmark.

What do you think about Microbt’s plans to launch a new bitcoin miner with an efficiency rating of 1X J/T?  Share your thoughts and opinions about this subject just for the purpose of discussion.

1004  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: September 19, 2023, 10:20:40 PM
Under population is not very good and that is what will make a country open their borders for foreigners out of need for labour force. I think there is a solution to this through government policy by giving rewards to couples who increase the numbers of children they give birth to depending on the number stipulated by government. Another point is to discourage abortion because people do that as final resort when they have no other option.
Of course, under population is a problem. A country can face some problems in the future if they have under population. It happens in Japan, they are facing a problem of under population. The number of foreigners is increasing constantly to deal with the situation. If too many foreigners, I think it won't be good for Japan in the future.

Well, this problem is probably caused by the lifestyle, the economic situation, or lack of confidence from mature people to raise children. The government should make a special program to all people that they must be confident to grow children. The government must support with assistance programs, so there are no mature people who doubt to have children. Also, the idea to give rewards for the couples that have children seem good to apply as well.

I don't think it's a bad idea to employ the skills and services of foreigners by countries that those manpower skills and services are lacking due to underpopulation, if a country fears for it's future by opening her boarder to foreigner with the needed skills to troop then the government of such country's would be doing a disservice to her people as they would have to work constant overtime and that can lead to a more breakdown in human capital.

Why can salvage the situation is just as you both agreed on the government to create a programme that will encourage couples and single matured people to increase their number of childbirth, cause where the necessary
social  amenities and welfare service are working fine people won't think twice before giving birth knowing fully it won't turn out to be a burden alas.
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 19, 2023, 08:11:55 PM
M.City will have the easiest win tonight.
Of course Manchester City will get an easy win tonight against a team from the Serbian Super League, FK Crvena Zvezda who I have never watched how they play. Manchester City must not underestimate their opponent if they do not want to experience undesirable results.

The most enjoyable game could be PSG-Dortmund. I will watch this game and Milan-Newcastle tonight.
This is a tight match. Many people are pessimistic about Newcastle's success in the UCL, including me. Newcastle will show their supporters that they should not be considered easy to beat among the other teams in this group.
Maybe with many people thinking that Newcastle will not be able to get through this extra tight group, this will be an encouragement for them to do their best which can break all the analysis about them.

I think Barcelona and Porto will get 3 points tonight.
I don't think Barcelona will win easily by getting 3 points tonight against Porto. Porto is not a weak team that can easily be beaten in the UCL.

Manchester city is having a hard time in converting their chances,  the crvena zvezda goal keeper is a hell of keeper, the save's he has had is   really giving an extra energy to his players.
Manchester city is playing them half field, crvena zvezda might end up having a goal down before the the end of this first half.
Yes,the crevena keeper has been excellent but they should not be carried away, because man city is a very good team that has a winning mentality and would be hunger for goal in the second half.the man city have good players  that can turn things around in a minute. Just in the 46 minutes into the second half man city has made an equalizer now 1:1  and it's just a begining of more goals for the City.
1006  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: September 19, 2023, 07:40:05 PM

Please let me clarify first: anyone who is extremely poor or wealthy is not included in this discussion. Only those who are employed with steady income, some savings and spare time will find this topic useful. I guess most of us are doing fine now but financially we have to face one common problem: how to spend money.  This issue leads to many consequences if not handled properly. Here I would not start any broad and subjective agruement. To deliver my message clearly, I am using some specific examples to elaborate. For example, a lot of peole complain that their income is not enough to cover their daily expenses so they can't save much money while...they spend seven bucks on a cup of coffee almost every morning, throw a hundred dollars on some gym membership cards but never show up training, have dinner with some random girl in an expensive restaurant, buy drinks in bars and waste hundreds of dollars... The list goes on and on. If you live this kind of lifestyle and at the end of months, you are running out of money or can't pay the mortgages, whose fault is this ? I can not provide any statisitics but I am sure that many people have fallen in the trap and can not get out.  I hope you are not one of them.
If anyone should have the money to lavish in the manner as op narrates it then mean they are financial alright like they ain't lacking the money in terms of spending, what they are lacking is rather the attitude of spending the money wisely in a meticulous spending on useful and necessary things under a budgeted plan. Wasteful spending is something a few people that have a good source of monthly income are suffering from, like before the month runs to the middle of the month they have spent their income all of it in the way op narrates.

People that spends money this way usually get to realize their self when the money is no more there, a little hardship straighten a nut in their brains to quit from such wasteful spending but I as much as the money keep flowing in as they keep spending it's very hard to see them having a thought if getting out of such lifestyle.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 19, 2023, 06:25:21 PM

These has been my thoughts even before the match started, Newcastle Would have been a better opponent had it been this game was last season when they were in their best form they would have even gotten a go already but watching this game right now it's just going to be a narrow escape for Newcastle until AC Milan scores. In the first half so far it's been 50:50 in possession but AC Milan has made good 6 goal attempt but are yet to convert any to a goal while Newcastle is yet to get a goal attempt until the fist half whistle was blown. The first half ended 0:0 all thanks to the Newcastle keeper for doing a very good job hoping he could do more in the second half of the game.

Yeah Milan continues to try to take advantage of their position playing at home at least 16 shots were fired and 7 of them were on target and if Milan continues to do this then their efforts could be successful in scoring goals. I understand Newcastle's target today is to draw then in the second leg they will try to beat Milan therefore Newcastle will guard their defense carefully and so far it works, but still this strategy is not really safe there is always a risk when Milan continues to attack.
Obviously there's a continuous attack and it won't be long before Milan may secure a goal because the keeper can't guarantee saving all the shots on target fired.  Before the game started I knew Newcastle will be playing a defensive strategy to get an away draw but that's very risky as pressure will keeping surmounting which can lead to a goal or more. Talking about how Newcastle would have played better if it was last season, I disagree on that, this is UCL and experience as a regular attendant has so much effect on how a team can perform and I think that's what Milan is using against Newcastle "UCL experience".
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino features you like and Don't like but you don't mind on: September 19, 2023, 08:07:11 AM
It's so annoying to me passing through series of kyc when opening a gambling account with an online casino and also with when making withdrawal the KYC passage is a boring process to my liking and that has made me scarcely use kyc casinos , it's just ones in a while use.

The other dislike is the absence of promotions and bonuses in a casino, for me I take it that such casino's don't value their customers whether they leave or stay because promotions are one of the strategies to hold down your users even when they have a reason to leave. Lastly, it's high withdrawal fees, I think casinos some casinos should reconsider their reducing their withdrawal charges fees and also the deposit limits too .
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: September 19, 2023, 07:53:06 AM

I know the group stage stage matches are still around 2 weeks away and the champions league have released the match list. We can see that there will be several big matches on matchday 1, of course these are matches that everyone is really looking forward to. On matchday 1, September 19, immediately presented with two matches from the hell group, bringing together Milan vs Newcastle and PSG vs Dortmund. Meanwhile, from matchday 1 on September 20, there was a big match from group A bringing together Bayern Muchen vs Manchester United. Of course we can't wait to watch this match but we have to be patient first because there will be an international break. Do you have any other favorite matches that are worth looking forward to on matchday 1?
I am waiting with UEFA Champion League opening match between AC Milan vs Newcastle United, seems excited with Newcastle United are first participating after not participant in Champion League for longer time. Usually opening match is important for all teams for getting chance qualifying to next round, if have bad result for opening matches will make difficult for upcoming match and have little chance for qualifying to next round exactly with difficult compete in Group A. PSG, Milan, Newcastle and Dortmund have the same chance and first three points achievement will make them have easily way for upcoming match and get easily qualifying to next round.
In the UCL experience is a factor that has so much to do with the performance of the team in every match, and that's what AC Milan has gotten over Newcastle who haven't been to the UCL if not more than han a decade now. And having to play the opening match as a first timer for years now it will really be an intense one for the castles. Though in football anything can happen but with whatever happens in today's match with Newcastle losing their first game then their chances of qualifying in the group stage will be very blur seeing that they are in the group of death.
1010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 18, 2023, 10:53:31 PM
-snip-
Yes, Mbappe is the main expected striker to be at Real Madrid. But no one can guarantee that he will actually go to Real Madrid or not. Because all this time, it was all just a dream and it hasn't come true yet. So, it's just a matter of what happens when Mbappe's contract ends, whether he will continue or move to Real Madrid. Surely this will continue to be hot news every transfer season.
I don't expect Kylian Mbappe to go to Real Madrid next season if Real Madrid themselves don't want to spend a little money on him. Completing a free transfer of Mbappe from PSG to Real Madrid remains possible, but it feels like it is something that will not happen considering the quality and how important Mbappe is at PSG.

Real Madrid would have to make a difficult offer for PSG to refuse for Mbappe, but if they are reluctant to do so then I wouldn't really expect Kylian Mbappe to be at Real Madrid next season. For me, expecting a free transfer for Mbappe is ridiculous even though it could work.

Why so, Kylian Mbappe has not decided to sign contract with Psg how do you expect Real Madrid to spend on a player who they can get easily on a free transfer.
Kylian Mbappe making it easy for the deal to be accomplished.
Real Madrid will not spend anything on Mbappe. No matter what offer from Paris league heads it is time for Mbappe to proceed to another level and league.
The Mbappe deal to Real Madrid is certain to take place just immediately after his contract with PSG expires. This was a calculation underground that's why Real Madrid didn't bid further in their interest in signing Mbappe in this previous transfer window. Mbappe wants to test new waters within Europe and in doing that he needs to be in a club that can make that dream a reality and PSG isn't that club.

If Mbappe want to be in the competition for world best players then real Madrid has that potential to bring him to that limelight just same way Haaland is getting the spotlight from Manchester City, a thing he never came close to playing in his previous club. The competition those titles is in Spain and England leagues and that's why Mbappe will surely sign for Madrid after the expiration of his contract at PSG.
1011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When the fun stops on: September 18, 2023, 10:38:45 PM
Online gambling platforms exists not only to get you some lucky wins, it's also another form of entertainment,  but I will like to ask if truly you people are getting that entertainment from gambling?

We can see what the world is becoming now, things are getting harder and what's on peoples mind is how to make even more money, there is no time, there are too many responsibilities,  are you sure you getting entertained?
The derivation of entertainment or fun in whatever word you may call it  from gambling is akin to the elite class of gamblers. The class a gambler founds himself in society is a determinant of what hey look forward to  get from gambling.

The poor will argue that fun in gambling will not put food on his table, and there's wisdom in that, because in his scale of preference entertainment is not even in the least, counting the responsibility he bears.

So the choice of what people want from gambling has so much to do with their social class in society. For some it's the money, to another it's entertainment while the other may be going for both entertainment and the money.

Quote

Some people already feel like they are not having fun, because what they have in mind is making money, to all people that feels this way, If you feel like you aren't having fun I believe for the greater good, it's better to take a break from gambling and do something else.

Do you agree or disagree?
.
I disagree. I see no greater good in that but deprivation.

Considering that you  assumed them  to be the only big boys with large bitcoin wallet's in the forum  you could have just saved us the small bitcoin wallet owners the trouble by sending this as a PM to each of them.
Cause the post sounds like  a good number of us don't need this security Grin

Standing on what @Doan9269 said, next time make it a general viewpoint to avoid people getting sentimental. Cause to my own reasoning I can assume you are indirectly sending a forewarning to this persons your post places an emphasis on about a preempt attack to their assets. <…> I don't know for sure whether those who have reached full member rank and above when they delete their posts until the number of activities decreases at the lower rank limit stage, whether their ranking will also decrease. <…>
Activity may be reduced when posts are deleted (self, mod, self-moderated) and can lead to the account being de-ranked. You can see some of the examples I track on this tab of the Merit Dashboard. The most extreme case is this profile, that likely went from Legendary to Newbie.

Though, as stated, received Merits do not get deleted from the account when one’s (merited) post gets deleted, there have been some historical occasions in which the Forum’s Admin reverted some Merit TXs due to abuse or such. I haven’t seen that happen for quite a while now (years).
.
I am appraised in detail that one's merits can't delete when a merited post is deleted but never knew that forum admins can revert merits based on abuse or any faulted reasons, and am just getting to know of this for the first time.  You said it's a historical case's which means it's very very rare. But for the sake of knowledge my interest is in this question; the reverted merits by a forum admins does it return back to the owner (the abuser), or somewhere else like to the admin, or it's reverted to no one at all?

The Radical History of Bitcoin

In my case I have also enjoyed this week's article that delves into the prehistory of Bitcoin, or the background that made it possible, showing us how wwhen the internet as we know it had not yet been invented the foundations of Bitcoin were already being laid by people committed to privacy and distrustful of large centralized organizations. Of course, governments saw in these movements a threat to their power and tried to put stones in the way but history shows that they did not achieve their goal.

With all that energy and efforts put together by governments over the ast decades to distablize and stagnate the success of decentralization but couldn't achieve their aim. The conviction every lover of privacy and decentralization should hold to heart is that if they the government's couldn't succeed prior to this time when the internet hasn't gained this global acceptance and usage then they will never be able to tarnish decentralization in this internet age. They can only keep on trying based in their pride.

Acquiring a knowledge without applying it is somewhat useless  notably academical knowledge in a any field. Buy this doesn't apply cogently with bitcoin knowledge this is because you can have the knowledge without money yet unavailable to invest and that doesn't make the knowledge useless.

Having the knowledge is the most important as it becomes a part of you that whenever money is available you can invest. People acquire knowledge for the sake of it should in case in the future the need for the service of a possessor of it and I think bitcoin can be acquire for same reason not always pointed to investment all of the time.

1018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: September 17, 2023, 04:18:29 PM
so newbies out there do not rush into buying Bitcoin without first understanding  Bitcoin which can even be done by engaging in important discussions on the forum expecially those of experts and experienced investors. remember knowledge is power.

You’re also a newbie just like me and you said something about joining discussions and yet you hardly ever reply any of your threads it looks like all you do here is to drop a topic and then move on to the next on you don’t reply to comments on your thread neither do you reply to other people threads all I see you doing here is to drop a thread behaving as if you really want newbies like myself to learn not knowing that you only just want to earn merits. Why don’t you take your one advise and join discussions yourself, remember knowledge is power.

As a newbie you should have noticed you will understand better when you avoid unnecessary posts , read more  and ask questions why repeat something when more than 15 persons have said same thing and besides discussions are to improve understanding no to be abused as a group chat that you reply all messages
For the record I do reply post but I only do so when I deem necessary

Counting the post in the first page in your post history I discovered that out of 20 posts 14 are new threads, so how does that shows that you’re interacting with your threads?
I think it’s now obvious what you’re trying to do here which is to fish merit by masking yourself as if you have newbies in mind, I am sure you’ll still come up with a different topic before the day runs out and let me guess the new title will be “never give up newbie” or “tips on how to survive and achieve legendary rank as a newbie” meanwhile you have just 11 merits.
Interestingly @turn it off, is really making a point and op if I was to be you I'll steal some cent from his criticism and change my approach to discussions and op posts. Jumping into dropping one op post just after the next one only sends a message that you are not interested to learn, kinda like you're an autarchy on your own within the forum.

The forum is not a music industry where you come in drop one album and  immediately you start preparing for the next dropping. If things are done that way the forum will be boring and challenging to every newbie but when we discuss and contest ideas, debating, agreeing and disagreeing in a sensible and healthy discussions we all learn from each other as a forum

Well, who wouldn't appreciate a digital asset that grows on its own, free from the worries of taxation or government regulations on how much you can have?
Don't misinterpret bitcoin to an asset through wish you can invade government taxes. Taxes are our obligation as citizens of a country . Yeah you can accumulate as much bitcoin as you wish but you have to pay your taxes where due.

I personally enjoy the fact that I'm in charge of storing and managing my crypto assets without anyone doing it for me.

And when you possess the knowledge of knowing when to DCA at every intervals when the opportunity opens up in the market you'll be accumulating in profit.

It's not always too late to invest in bitcoins, if you have ever miss any Bitcoin bull run or you have heard about the bitcoins bull run and you are excited to take actions, my simple advice is, calm the pressure

If your adoption of bitcoin was purely for bull run's,  you need to have a rethink because the use case of bitcoin is  beyond bull run. There's a many usefulness of bitcoin than are profitable and convenient than  just bull run's.

Peradventure we never had a bull run occurring again are you going to back out your bitcoin investment or what?
