1001  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEWS!!CHINA WILL NOT BAN BTC Damn u fonzie, cosmofly,GTO and the rest of fudsters on: April 11, 2014, 01:44:10 PM
You fools keep following China...

They will keep buying cheap coins as long as all these "news" move the market to direction they want.

Stop paying attention to China already. Dumb asses
1002  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-08] Major French Supermarket Chain to Accept Bitcoin on: April 11, 2014, 12:43:06 PM
I don't see how this will work. It can take an hour to confirm a transaction. They won't let random people buy 100+ dollars worth of stuff without some kind of identification system and extra fees.

Every where I look the "good" things (visa debit cards and Bitcoin ATMs) cost way to much in fees and record more personal information then cash.

They can piggyback btc to their cash card program. So customers can put fund into the cash card online thro btc then shop at brick and mortals.

Its still better than CC and chargebacks.
1003  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-11] Megaupload founder wants official cryptocurrency on: April 11, 2014, 12:38:55 PM
I don't understand the need for another new altcoin now. Why can't he just use the Bitcoin?

because he did hoard enough btc?

Back in 2011 he got a chance of moving into btc but he didnt. Now he wants to make his pump and dump coin.
1004  Economy / Services / Re: [lee group, round 5] 2600$! The sales promotion of dragon 1T host miner on: April 11, 2014, 11:56:18 AM
Bitminter also let choose the diff for worker. Did you set 1024 in the miner and 1024 in BTC Guild, and it works fine?

Yup. leave the miner's setting default , 1024 for me

Then set pools setting to 1024. It works perfectly
1005  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]1TH Bitmine - Escrow accepted 2500 USD Shipping next day on: April 11, 2014, 11:54:24 AM

1006  Economy / Services / Re: [lee group, round 5] 2600$! The sales promotion of dragon 1T host miner on: April 11, 2014, 11:42:14 AM
I received miner today, thank you pcfli!

I am confirming, there is a bug with difficulty.
I am trying different pools now, on Bitminter I managed to get 850 GH/s, now I set in miner difficulty 256 and I am trying to mine on Eligius. But Eligius is sending work with diff 512.
Any thoughts guys? What's your best solution for this and best pool to mine?

Only btcguild works for me :/ or try any pool that let you set diff at 1024

The lost coins are only few hundreds.... return customers their coins back then you can sell your shit anyway you want.

Why can't they sell the Mt Gox shares? Any revenue from the the share sale can be used to refund their users.

lol yah $400?

 Roll Eyes
1008  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-04-11] WSJ: Investor Group Seeks Court OK to Buy, Revive Bankrupt Bitcoin on: April 11, 2014, 11:13:21 AM
30% would have been a good deal. 20% is too low.

Why should it be 30%? The users must be given back all their coins. Just because Karpeles stole it all you can't say that the users can't get their coins back. Anyway, I hope that soon he will emerge with the remaining 450K.

+1

Agreed, what kind of BS is this?

The lost coins are only few hundreds.... return customers their coins back then you can sell your shit anyway you want.
1009  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 11, 2014, 03:33:33 AM
what was the price of the B2 unit?
1010  Economy / Speculation / Re: SecondMarket Bitcoin Investment Trust Observer on: April 11, 2014, 02:49:43 AM
Apparently they are over 100,000B now. Lots of buying last 2 days?

5867XBT net buying yesterday. Holding 101710XBT now

The 5000 wall at 400 must be them then.

More idiots keep dumping their coins, more coins will be in the hand of these institutions. Just dont cry when you cant afford to buy a whole BTC
1011  Economy / Speculation / Re: SecondMarket Bitcoin Investment Trust Observer on: April 11, 2014, 12:22:06 AM
Apparently they are over 100,000B now. Lots of buying last 2 days?

Yet the idiots who "dump" their coins, will come here to cry about the btc distribution again.....
1012  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whodafuq is dumping BTC?? on: April 10, 2014, 05:31:39 PM
god damn it!!! $400?!? and there's no MT.GOX to blame for it..

Mt.Gox is the reason why BTC is trading at <400 now.

Correct. While the Chinese exchanges are faking volumes, MtGox still held the largest funds in fiat.

With all those funds being held, the market is so thin and a few thousands btc can move the market.
1013  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 10, 2014, 05:24:56 AM
Guys,
Let's keep the discussion civilized please.

We're committed to distribute the hash-rate. It will become evident very soon.
The days of small DYI miners are almost over. We're preparing for the next phase of mining while taking utmost care to distribute the hash-rate.

Can you please clarify this statement it seems very contradictory.  How can you be working with a goal of spreading the hash-rate when you have the belief that "small" miners will soon be extinct?  This screams centralization of hash power.
By the end of 2014, beginning of 2015, we believe that above 80% of the mining will be done by operators runnig huge data centers or highly specialized IT containers designed for Bitcoin mining only, deployed in places with cheap electricity.
We'll support and promote community efforts to deploy such hash-rate.
I'm vague here on purpose, but we've already started such efforts.

So, those who get miners comes August WILL be in direct competition to the 80% of the commercial miners, of which it would be off their backs that this endeavor is built, thus the small-time miner gets screwed again, and the bitcoin mining manufacturer and commercial hoster comes out smelling like a rose. I beginning to like to you guys.
Hosting is the right solution for Q3 timeframe for small time miners.
Shares in a collective mining operation is the right solution for Q4 onwards.

I'll say that again. We're committed to the distribution of the hash-rate.

Just dont waste time talking back and forth with these guys. Work on the SP30 and release to the public. So far you've done a good job with SP10
1014  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [LIKELY SCAM] Antminer group buy on: April 10, 2014, 05:22:36 AM
I don't see why you shouldn't be able to get that
It's a public address he doesn't own it.. it's assigned by his ISP.. There are no privacy laws broken by providing that information

Also great attitude to have and it's good to see Senior members being such pillars of the community

If there is nothing left to do then delete this thread and the bad guy wins... in despite of our obvious stupidity for trusting him

And take that as an lesson.
1015  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit turned out to be a scam on: April 10, 2014, 05:03:53 AM
So, what's the scam here?

Developing unreliable software, claing to be secure and the fastest wallet, that's being used by millions of people.

Then turns out the wallet actually loses your coins

Thats a scam in itself

And ask urself (especially if ur a delusional bitcoin nutter) is it any different from what mtgox did?

No

WTF are you doing in this forum?

cosmofly is trying to save us from making bad decisions;
Perhaps his name should be "Nanny State."  Cheesy

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed quite a few trollish accounts and even older accounts morphing into trolls

I suspect they're old bitcoiners that lost money to Gox.

I noticed some old bitcoiners just disappeared after Gox fiasco. One of them is known to have over 1000btc on Gox and just b4 Gox closed down he wired $55k to Gox "to buy cheap coins"

I would be surprised if Cosmofly is a loser whos now turned into a hater.

He cant stand the fact that others in bitcoin are doing ok but him.
1016  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [LIKELY SCAM] Antminer group buy on: April 10, 2014, 03:51:32 AM
why didnt you noobs see this scam from beginning ?

Next time look at the business model and if its unfeasible then its a scam. Business is to make money not charity. Greed blinded you and now you paid for the lesson.

Just move on.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bootstrap an alt-coin with a bitcoin-blockchain-based initial coin distribution on: April 10, 2014, 03:48:55 AM
Mind blowing....

To the hell with Ethereum scam coin.

This is how it should be done.
1018  Economy / Services / Re: [lee group, round 5] 2600$! The sales promotion of dragon 1T host miner on: April 10, 2014, 03:40:30 AM
Got my miner today.  Had to reseat the ribbon cable going to the ethernet adapter.  All loaded well once I did that.

Question.  Where are people mining?  I recall seeing references to using BTCGuild due to some issue with the difficulty.  I am trying to mine at Eligius and I can't seems to get the pool to recognize the hashrate.  The miner is reporting 1000+ GHs but it is not reflected in the Eliguis pool stats.  Any thoughts?

In the interim I am going to try BTCGuild.

The engineers use CGminer source then dont open their source to show the modification so nobody knows....

It was said because the miner submitting shares incorrectly so the pool only receive half of those shares. Its best to use btcguild for now.
1019  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 10, 2014, 03:34:47 AM
It is a nice feeling to have a backlog of orders.  Demand certainty, they have said, helps them plan their supply chain.

So long as we are willing to pre-order this practice will not end.

Bottom line is.... keep supporting ONE vendor.... from ONE country and dont cry about how centralized mining will be.

Those Chinese vendors are building large farms for themselves.

The PROC can shut these vendors down and then what?

At least support alternative so mining can have more players.
1020  Economy / Speculation / Re: BREAKING NEWS. BANK ACCOUNTS OFFICIALLY BANNED ON APRIL 15 (BTCTRADE) on: April 10, 2014, 03:28:55 AM
I like that how Chinese exchange didnt just close down after receiving the order. In stead they announce the notice and let trading going on....

Simple tactics to buy low from panic sellers.

Mean while they will move their own fund offshore.

If those panic sellers think for a sec.... they would know China is arguably producing largest mining equipment as well as largest mining farms. Those companies dont even use Chinese exchanges...
