New command line options:

--avalon-fan <arg> Set fanspeed percentage for avalon, single value or range (default: 20-100)
--avalon-freq <arg> Set frequency range for avalon-auto, single value or range

love it!

thanks a lot for this options, especially the fans
will try it later

USB Sticks und ztex laufen problemlos gemeinsam mit cgminer --enable-ztex
1003  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 29, 2013, 05:37:43 AM
Mine was stable for 2.5 days @350 MHz then cgminer restarted, but also without problems.

I think the original fans @ around 800 rpm makes no sense temps are rising imediatly when running so low.
50% min fanspeed would be fine Wink
or I'lo try to play around with the temp target to get them not so slow
1004  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Sell] Avalon batch #2 by escrow, start at 60 BTC, cancel if it arrives too late on: June 28, 2013, 04:22:01 PM
61BTC
1005  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 28, 2013, 10:00:14 AM
What pool are ya'll mining on?

bitparking.com
actually zero fees on BTC and NMC + DVC + IXC merged mining

very simple interface but it works;)
1006  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 27, 2013, 04:44:36 PM
maybe this is fine also:
http://geizhals.eu/scythe-ultra-kaze-3000-dfs123812h-3000-a288602.html?plz=&t=v&va=b&vl=de&v=e#filterform

Scythe says nothing about the pressure the fans generate:(
I think this is important
therefore a 38mm could perform better then the 25mm
looking at the airflow candoos recommendation is definitely fine

EUSt 20% und was mir neu war zusätzlich Zollstellungsentgelt Angry

sind das nicht 19% wie die MwSt?
und was ist ein Zollstellungsentgelt? und wie hoch war das?
1008  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 27, 2013, 03:42:32 PM

You need to bear in mind that most PSU's don't/can't supply all their "rated power" on the 12v rail.

Apparently though this one can, is this what you have?

Quote

also got the Version without i wich "only" provides 71 Amp @ +12V Rail -> 852W
so an other argument not to use this with a 4 Module overclocked avalon  Wink

good psus nearly provide their maximum load @ +12V !
1009  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 27, 2013, 03:11:23 PM

710 Watt is measured at the wall (plug/input). PSU has about 80% efficiency which means that 4 Modules will consume about 757W (710*0.8/3*4) at OUTPUT. PSU is rated what it can supply in OUTPUT not what it consumes in input. If you measure 4 modules at Input (plug) you will see that they will consume about 757 +0.2*757 = 908W

So once again 850W rated PSU is fine

Just to be on safe side check what is max Amparage that 12V rail can provide. It has to be greater than 757/12=63Amps. Most modern PSU's will do that. Having 1000W psu with weak 12V rail < 63AMPS (just an example) will cause magic smoke to come out

In short watch PSU Output Wats + !!!!!12v Rail AMPS!!!!!

The AX860 is a 80+ platinum rated psu what means it has an efficiency of over 90% (94% @50% load and still 91% on 100% load) @ 230V
(115V is a little worse) check it out: http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80PlusPowerSupplies.aspx#

So the estamined 950 @wall will be about 860 Watt output and thats exactly the limit Sad
I think Corsair is a good psu so it might have some reserve BUT I wont run a psu 24/7 at its limit!

When I calculate the output 710*0.92 = 653 output /3*4 I'll get 870 Watt with 4 modules
maybe it would work for a while but its very risky

or will you loshia give a guarantee for your YES promise???
1010  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 27, 2013, 01:46:15 PM

sure?

my Corsair AX860 is pulling 710 Watt @ the wall when running 3 Modules with 350Mhz so 4 Modules would be aprox 950 Watt!?
300MHz is fine with 595 Watt

Und wie bekommt man eigentlich dann die Dividenden ?

Die wird bei bitfunder gutgeschrieben und kann dort erneut investiert oder an weexchange transferiert und dann ausgezahlt werden
1012  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 26, 2013, 11:50:11 AM
Something is wrong.
Cgminer says 80 GH/s advantage but Slushs pool only 70 GH/s...

take a look in the rejects in cgminer Status

3.1.1 crashed after about 5 hours running very constantly @325MHz
will now give 350 @ try
1013  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 26, 2013, 07:08:06 AM
so everything is fine with HW 1,2%

but I got a lot of rejected shares from bitparking about 10% the the gain on hashrate with 341 MHz was nearly eaten up

now running at fixed 325 MHz and no rejected shares
1014  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 26, 2013, 06:12:21 AM
Auto tries to keep HW errors below 1.5%. Are you sure you're not mining at a higher diff?

So the shown HW errors are a multiple of the the diff mining at?
having a higher percentage

cgminer restarted in the night, MHz is again at 341

I'm getting a high rate of rejects from the pool so cgminer is showing me nearly 79GHash/s but on the pool bitparking its only around 71GHasch/s like it was at 300 MHz?
watching this

1016  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon Asic] trade-in Thread on: June 26, 2013, 12:08:00 AM
News from avalon team:

Quote
Batch two shipping is proceeding as planned and at the time there are no additional delays of any kind.

We do however need to bring the site down within the next few hours to upgrade for trade-in orders. So if you are running into problems ordering chips and/or viewing orders please do not panic, we expect this update to finish by later tonight ( EST time. )

In addition, the only two official Avalon domains are avalon-asic.com and avalon-asics.com, there has been many phishing sites claiming to have Avalon Chips this is simply not true, the very first order of Chips ordered back in late April is expect to ship by early July.

not very much but lets hope for more after the website update
1017  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 11:37:57 PM
testing ckolivas auto feature now -> very nice

ATX: Corsair AX860

speed Mhz      power @wall @230V
300               595 Watt
310               610
320               630
330               650
341               670    seems to stop @ this frequency?

giving me additional 6-7 GHs

fans are heavily circulating from min to around 3400 rpm when i set target-temp to 48 degrees
they are influencing power draw above values are taken @min speed
high speed will draw about +15W

will try agin with default temp;)

donated 1BTC to ckolivas 7a398e9723d533dfc13d99ec44e040645704f939e037851a84cddc430dab0d00-000

rpm starts a min raises to over 3000rpm when target-temp is hit and then slowing down to min  step by step
seems not the optimal strategy - I think better raise fans slowly before target is hit

@ckolivas
and if I'm allowed to express a wish:
40% fanspeed as min also will be fine for me;)
or also configurable as knows from gpus..

great job!!!
go on
1018  Local / Biete / Re: 2 Quad FPGA Boards (~880 MH/s) on: June 25, 2013, 09:08:42 PM
1.9 BTC für Beide.
äh laufen die jetzt oder nicht?
lief einwandfrei ist ja vergangenheitsform.
1019  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 05:18:10 PM
@elasticband

the 760i is having an USB connector (or similar)  to report fan speed and efficency to the computer
I don't think you can use this feature on the avalon;)

and still I think the 860 would be better
but it's your decision
1020  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: June 25, 2013, 04:32:35 PM

which one do i want to get?

the platinum one if you care about energy consumption

and think about this

has more reserve
