1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 16, 2016, 06:57:13 AM
You guys are talking about logo, and I can't perform simple transfer from Lisk online wallet.
0 confirmations after 20 mins, and looks like the transaction is stuck somehow (keeps appearing and disappearing from the transaction list in the wallet).
So, is this a breakthrough technology or just a crap?
The network is working as it should at the moment, and pretty much since genesis.
You most likely trying to use a node that is not in sync.
Take a look at the "blockchain" tab, if the latest block is not less than <10 sec old, then almost certainly that is the problem.

Well, have no idea what node is being used. Just logged in here https://login.lisk.io and wanted to do simple transfer from address A to address B.
Now, 40+ minutes after that, the transaction is still stuck - account balance keeps switching between pre-tx balance and post-tx balance. How is that possible?
BTW, no sign of my transaction on the blockchain obviously

1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] XAB -The currency of TheAltcoinBoard - Instant Masternodes - PostCoin Swap on: July 15, 2016, 05:44:29 PM
How now I can run the master node, if necessary sum of 300 000 XAB? And one more question, I see that the master node 79.119.43.54 sometimes off-line. What will happen to the chain, if it is a long time to be off-line?
You need to have 300.000 XAB in your wallet as a collateral. If you have that amount you just have to click Create Local and thats all.
If a masternode goes off-line nothing happens, since the PoS block aren't generated by Masternodes. These are getting only rewards from PoS.

If masternodes don't generate blocks, then what are they used for?
Collecting POS rewards only? Smiley
For now the Masternodes are special nodes that are ensuring a healthy network by rewarding it's owner for keeping the Masternode online

Ok cool, but you said "If a masternode goes off-line nothing happens", so what is the benefit of having masternode in the network if nothing bad happens if it's not in the network...? Masternodes seem to be getting rewards for nothing...
Masternodes are getting their reward first of all for locking a considerable amount of XAB in a collateral address, also they are earning for securing the network only when they are online, if a Masternode goes offline they are not receiving the share from PoS

Well, if they don't generate POS blocks then they actually don't secure anything. No?
The only benefit seems to be the lock out for 300 k XAB, but the logic of lock out (at least for me) would be not to allow maturing in order to get rewards, but to get rewards for not dumping. I'm not sure how does it work, so more details appreciated please...

Another question: if reward for locking coins is higher than POS block generation ( 10 vs 8 ), then I guess the maturity time  should be longer, and some additional locking conditions would need to be applied too...?

I got a coin dispensing.
I alarming only one, so this exchange Postсoin to hav, I do not see the transparency of the transaction. Where will the proceeds from the exchange of the coins?

I guess you want tx ID from Yobit right?
-> go to "History" > "Withdrawals" > click a row with your POST transaction > copy tx ID from the pop up window

1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: July 13, 2016, 09:55:07 AM

Agree maybe we have to acceptt that the concept of DAO is still not feasible. I also understand the point of the DAO hacker. Using a programmed back door cannot be punished. We have also to consider that the flaw was known at least for some weeks.

I am not sure about that. If the hacker identifies himself, there could be some kind of law suit against him.
using a programed back door is absolutely  punishable in most jurisdictions. in addition his actions were contrary to the benefit of the DAO as whole and should not be allowed to stand.
as far as the shorting of eth on exchanges (where the real money was made) not sure if that's regulated in so far as things like that go...so probably not punishable.

is hf happening on 15th?

Hacking back doors to get in systems is punishable but in this case it was a backdoor in a contract. So if you consider that the contract was created liked that then how one get punished to just use the contract as initially programmed. Interesting case. But if the hack is punishable than what about the punishment of a rollback which is against the system as a hole. My head is smoking..😊
just because it was a contract doesn't mean it cant be undone....either by hf or courts of law. bad contracts are nullified all the time. as far as hf....while not perfect   its a failsafe ...its exactly how the system is designed. If a majority of miners support than its consensus. anyone is free to mine either by renting or purchasing hardware.

If HF will be introduced then (in the future) the devs can be easily forced (by gov guys for instance) to do it again for other "important" reason. The precedent will be a
constant threat to ETH.

Ok, so you're going to collect 300+ millions (some 60%) of FIMK , right? what for...?
Your excellent question slipped by as I had addressed it on the FIMK forum, and it was quoted here on this forum too:

Quote
The FIMK option and its better rates compared to other HEAT credit purchase options are mainly a favor to reward the loyal FIMK stakeholders, and redeem the FIMK donations received in 2014 for a no-loss proposition for the patrons.

Quote
What is the purpose of collecting millions of FIMK?
To reward the FIMK holders. As we haven't been able to help to improve the FIMK market rate further, this arrangement gives FIMK holders the way to receive more value than the 160 satoshi per FIMK level they put in FIMK donation period.

Quote
It's significant amount of unspendable (or hardly spendable) assets, so you're actually reducing your ICO income.
Exactly. That's accounted for. We take the loss to offer a valuable option for FIMK holders.

It's not yet decided what will be done with the FIMK we collect. One quite likely option is that they will be burned ie. removed from the FIMK blockchain.

Quote
Do devs own any FIMK assets?
Assets, as in asset exchange? Or FIMK tokens? FIMK developers do own FIMK.

OK, so it seems the whole picture is slowly coming out from the shade :-)

My guess is that HEAT devs together with FIMK devs (regardless if they're the same, or not the same guys) are trying to multiply their holdings with the new brand.
Collecting FIMK tokens is just for increasing their HEAT stake. If you could please explain why are you so nice to "reward the loyal FIMK stakeholders" with the HEAT tokens? What did FIMK holders do for HEAT? Why are they so special? If they want to take part in HEAT ICO, they should just accept their financial loss (from bad investment in FIMK), sell their tokens, and buy HEAT for BTC (as all other users do). What if HEAT will fail? Are you then going to introduce WARM coin, and reward both FIMK and HEAT holders with WARM tokens + collect some additional BTC and ETH?

Your credibility (coming from the proper sequence of actions) would be answering for you...
While acknowledging the sub-optimal process sequence, we're counting on this to assist with the credibility

https://github.com/fimkrypto/

It's good to notice we're not looking to max out disproportionally with the ICO. It's specifically designed for reasonable sum range to fund for the company and to assist in the 2nd round IPO. Based on that, the flow currently looks fine!

This sequence would be much better (for any project btw)

Whitepaper
Roadmap
Testnet, alpha client
ICO
Genesis block, livenet beta client

Whitepaper first is always good sign of something that was being worked on by someone for some time before marketing anything (ex. Satoshi, Vitalik)
That's true. Our whitepaper is in advanced phase and was planned to be released at ICO launch. However, when you engage in a large project, especially one that has timing restrictions on several front (such as the ICO scene - very time sensitive and with perplexing level of interrelations between projects. Take for instance HEAT NXT acceptance and Ardor holding incentive. How do they relate? Not always how you'd expect) then numerous things change constantly on your face and you have to improvise. Take irreversible choices & carry on no matter what.

There are optimal projects, and then there are projects that get done  Cool

Yes, I do understand timing restrictions, however, it's sometimes better to sacrifice time (and even money) in the name of credibility. This is what drives succesful projects.
With credibility you would not need to waste time for discussions with me (and the others) :-). Your credibility (coming from the proper sequence of actions) would be answering for you...

Can we have all of the above placed on a timescale, OR a road map, or anything that we can then use to verify your progress devs?
There's WAVES with equally impressive list of features that were supposed to be available at launch - guess what happend...
1019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICO LIVE] STRATIS | C# Blockchain Development Platform | 5% Bonus Period on: July 12, 2016, 08:15:25 AM
Seems like the marketing for Stratis is good so far. Seen a lot of articles about it. We just need to get a cointelegraph banner to spread even more. What do you think about that Krushang?  Smiley

Marketing good but only 205.5BTC invested. If less than 1000 BTC invested at end (2 weeks) than no project and investors get BTC back. How we can attract more BTC? Why only few are investing?

If after two weeks from now less then 1000BTC is invested we will extend the ICO.

One of the main problem is Stratis ANN has been translated in many different languages but after that, the translators are not acting as ambassadors/promoters. As an example, look at the french section of bct. Stratis is at the bottom of the ANN page and zero replies:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=149.0

So translating in different languages is a great thing but this is by far, not enough. The translator ALSO has to promote actively the coin (Stratis) once the translation is done.

Marketing is good?? Sorry but it is not that good!

OK, so you're looking for translators AND ambassadors/promoters?
How are you going to pay for translation AND promotion? With the bounties? Come one, let's be serious...
1020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 11, 2016, 09:51:46 AM
The great thing about WAVES is that the block time could be reduced up to milliseconds if one day it becomes necessary, because WAVES has no block reward to introduce new WAVES into existence.  It's all transaction fees.

Well, I don't think miliseconds is possible because of network latency.
I'd rather expect (several) seconds
