1001  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A curious Newbie!! on: March 14, 2024, 06:06:54 AM
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie with crypto knowledge though. I'm here to network. I see some beautiful profiles with lots of merits and I'm interested in being like that someday. How can that be achieved? Is it like a gift or something.. pls help 😎
Welcome to the forum, the merits can be earned when you make good posts and others find those posts helpful. Let's say if a member has 4 sMerits and he/she likes one of your posts then he/she can send you from 1 merit to 4 merits. If that person sends you 2 merits then you will earn 1 sMerit which you can send to someone whose post you like.

I hope now its clear to you that how those profiles have got those merits. In order to get merits you should try to make good and valuable posts and be active on the forum. Some people get good number of merits from their local boards, if you speak a language and there's a local board of that language then try to make some posts in your language on that local board on daily basis to earn some merits for your contribution in that local board.

I believe if you follow those steps then you will start getting some merits.
1002  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there a place for medical discuss? on: March 13, 2024, 04:46:47 PM
You have got some good answers by reputed members of the forum and I believe you understood that this forum isn't a medical forum and topics related to health or medical aren't talked much in this forum.

Some people post off-topic posts in off-topic board but I believe that even in that board people should stick to crypto related discussions.

I suggest you to lock this thread because you already got what you needed. If you know an area of medical which could be helpful for Bitcoin users then you can post that in suitable boards.

For your total medical and health related discussions I suggest you to join a health related forum and contribute on that forum.
1003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best place to trade options and perpetuals futures. CEX OR DEX? on: March 13, 2024, 02:59:26 PM
It's first time I'm hearing about Aevo but after searching about it on Google I found it to be a useful platform. I would still prefer to trade perpetual futures on centralized exchanges because as a trader I'm happy to trade on centralized exchanges. I also prefer decentralized exchanges in one way or other but for the purpose of trading I'm still happy with centralized exchanges like Binance and Bybit.
1004  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 www.l0tt0.com ⚡ casino games like you've never seen! 🏆 on: March 13, 2024, 02:19:51 PM
The login link is secure- only if your email account is secure.. if your email account gets compromised- and someone gets acccess to your account and can just reset the withdrawal pin, whats the point? I mean, thats why 2FA came about in the first place. a site username/password can be reset if someone gets into your email.. so adding 2FA to say your phone secures it up..
2FA is way better than pin code without doubt and it's the safest option available, but it also have some drawbacks. Let's say if someone's email is compromised then pin changing may not be useful but at the same time if someone has installed authenticator for 2FA on their phone and the phone gets stolen the same will happen.

Each security measure has pros and cons but we should give more importance to the pros and avoid the cons. I guess you selection of going with 2FA is better than going with a pin based withdrawal mechanism, and you should go with it instead of going with the pin based system.
1005  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 www.l0tt0.com ⚡ casino games like you've never seen! 🏆 on: March 13, 2024, 11:12:26 AM
yeah i'm looking into it. maybe the pin idea wasn't the best. it worked for silk road Cheesy
Pin idea isn't a bad one but it would be better if the user could request a new pin in case of losing or forgetting the previous one. I think you should implement the pin system in a way that when a user forgets his/her pin then he/she may get an option to request a new pin or may get the old pin automatically via email. That way even is someone loses the pin they can get a new or or they can get the one that they have set during registration.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you stake on a potential(obvious) loosing team just for love? on: March 13, 2024, 11:08:29 AM
Question: Can you have so much love for your team to behave like this guy that even when you know your love fans team would loose a match, would you still further stake on the match against your team?
First of all, I don't have a team yet, all teams are mine or none of them are mine. Let's say if I were on place of that guy then I would also do the same but I would bet minimum amount that may not cause any trouble for me even if I lose it. I'm very sure if the guy thinks like me then he would also bet with lowest amount possible in order to avoid facing huge losses because of favoring a weak team.
1007  Economy / Gambling / Re: Need help. I GOT PHISHED FOR 9K ON STAKE.COM on: March 13, 2024, 10:15:43 AM
Anyways if anyone knows anything or knows if I can even get this money back from a long time ago lmk
To be honest you won't be able to get back the money that was stolen from you. Your best bet was Stake's own team but they also said that they can't do anything, and in fact it's not their fault at all.

Phishing sites are huge threats especially for the gamblers, you're not the only victim of such scammers. I hope in future you'll be more cautious about such mails.
1008  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners must consider burner wallet on: March 13, 2024, 06:50:02 AM
I think whatever you said in this thread is very true, and I also believe that each new user should do something like that. I would consider such wallet as temporary wallet which's in your possession but it isn't used to store your Bitcoin which you're buying using a DCA method, or by allowing a certain amount per month for Bitcoin accumulation.

I personally don't think that newbies can earn good amount from airdrops but you're right that most newbies want to earn something and for those a temporary wallet could be a better solution. In fact, I believe that for newbies bounties are much better than airdrops as they doesn't require much effort and can pay some good amount. And, I believe the ones who are after bounties may also follow a similar approach.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Man bet his life savings on 1 spin of Roulette on: March 13, 2024, 06:28:50 AM
That man took a risk and his luck favored him but that doesn't mean if we take the same level of risk and our luck favors us. The man was quite lucky during the bet that he won the bet otherwise the result should be loss of everything.

Gambling is a risky thing and putting all your life's saving in 1 spin is the worst anyone could possibly even think about. I do sometimes take risk but with less than 2% of my monthly earnings sometimes I avoid placing bets for months when I face enough losses.

The ones who don't win many times often end up being gambling addicts, so I believe it's much important to have some kind of limitations on our bets in order to avoid being addicts which could be no less than a nightmare in life of a gambler. I believe that we can enjoy gambling by placing small bets and even if we lose the bets we won't get much impacted by such losses.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is BSC (bep20) chain? on: March 13, 2024, 02:39:31 AM
How safe is BSC (bep20) chain? Is it okay to store a large amount of BTC and USDT on that chain? If Binance shutdown will the chain still operate normally?
It isn't safe at all to store even very small amount of BTC on BSC because frankly speaking you can't store BTC on that. BTC is stored only on Bitcoin's own blockchain not any other blockchain. The one which you're talking about isn't BTC at all, it's just another altcoin pegged to BTC's price. You should purchase Bitcoin only if it's on Bitcoin's network and blockchain, not those altcoins.
1011  Other / Meta / Re: At what point does my account change from newbie status? on: March 13, 2024, 02:27:45 AM
Just post regularly and within few days you'll be able to send PM's to other members of the forum. You already have 6 merits, all you need is a few more activity points.

Regularly post on daily basis and I assure you that you'll be able to send PM within 14 days. I think you have got your answer so there's no point in keeping this thread unlocked. I suggest you to lock it.
1012  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Google is the best tools to trade Bitcoin anonymously - only search the way to - on: March 13, 2024, 02:23:08 AM
When was designing Bitcoin in back March 2007, I was using google.
That's a lie, you weren't designing Bitcoin back in March 2007, it was Satoshi Nakamoto who was give his precious time for designing and coding of Bitcoin project. Another lie is that Google has the best tools to trade anonymously, Google is known for their tracking tactics and you're saying that they can help out trading Bitcoin anonymously? Whatever you said in the thread is totally false information.

I know Google provides cloud services but I doubt even those are free from tracking elements. When it comes to anonymous trading then Tor with Bisq is the way to go other than that everything is said in order to grab members attention. If you really want to trade Bitcoin anonymously then first make sure  you have Linux installed, and then download Bisq and connect it to tor server then you can trade Bitcoin anonymously.
1013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 04:45:28 PM
There are a few constraints.
- The RAM in the Matebook is hard soldered onto the motherboard, so it can't be upgraded. I'll have a look inside to see what upgrades are viable. I read somewhere that the i5 could be replaced by an i7, but that seems unlikely to me, and may not be worth the efford. I'll be really pleased if I can fit 2 drives, but it looks as if I can fit a  Crucial | Model: CT4000P3PSSD8 which is 4Tb. That should be enought to run a node for a while. I want to keep the drive internal to reduce the power requirement, and for speed.

512 MB ram is very low as compare to today's standards but if it's working smoothly then there's no need to upgrade it. A fast SSD would be sufficient enough to add some fast virtual memory that may help in increasing the response rate of the system with that 512 MB ram. Going with i7 isn't recommended at all, and I would suggest you to go with 4 TB SDD instead of 2 TB one.

As you know the system has limited physical ram and that's why it needs sufficient virtual ram in order to operate in best speeds possible, that's why try to increase the amount of virtual ram to 16 GB or more. Other then those I believe your system is more then enough to run a node for many years.
1014  Other / Meta / Re: Bad behavior made by Newbies or Beginners on: March 12, 2024, 04:12:24 PM
This thread has no valid point, how could you say bad behavior by Newbies or Beginners? It's someone's own choice to either apply in a contest or not and you can't force anyone to apply in a contest. You have added a strict rule of that "Signing a message" which most newbies don't understand at first place.

I suggest you to control your anger and be patient next time when you organize a contest. Also try to make the rules not too difficult for newbies. And, to be honest this thread wasn't needed in first place because the point you raised is totally invalid.
1015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 03:16:22 PM
Thanks for the reply.
~Snip~
You're most welcome, in fact it's my pleasure to comment on this thread. Yes, buying and HODLING is going to be a good approach in current market conditions. There is a chance that Bitcoin may reach $100k or more within two years, and if you follow that HODLING approach then you will have good profits when it reaches or crosses $100k value. Dip buying can also be useful and I'm sure you'll buy when you see a dip because you stated in your OP that you'll purchase Bitcoin when it drops 5% to 10%, and I'm sure you're into that dip buying approach as well.

I'm not sure if Volvo redblock lovers agree to purchase that those engines with Bitcoin, and I also believe that you can easily get a grand at least by flipping one of those, but I don't think that there will be many classic Volvo buyers who might pay you with Bitcoin. Cash payment could be a good option if it's not restricted. You should ask those classic Volvo buyers to send you the payment in Bitcoin. You may convince them that if they pay with Bitcoin then you will give them discount of 2-4%, however if they pay with cash then there will not be any discount.
1016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for the elderly homeless. on: March 12, 2024, 02:39:40 PM
After long time I'm seeing your post, I'm happy that I found this post and I believe I can give you some suggestions that might help you out.

My first suggestion is to increase the amount of ram of that laptop to at least 4 GB and try to install Linux in it, however with 4 GB ram Windows 11 may also work fine.

In regard of exchange I suggest you to go with either Binance or Bybit as both of those are good exchanges. You can also give a shot to Bisq if it works for you then it's better than centralized exchanges.

Make sure to use a VPN if you can because at public Wifi VPN can be quite useful in protecting privacy and also for security.

I hope those suggestions may be helpful for you!

1017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan says BTC price could drop after 2024 halving on: March 12, 2024, 01:00:46 PM
JP Morgan isn't sure what he's saying, this time Bitcoin will again move upwards after the halving event. In fact this time the market is moving much faster even before the halving event. JP Morgan will see that his sayings will all be wrong when Bitcoin reaches or crosses $80k value during the halving event. Everyone who wants Bitcoin will be lucky if Bitcoin drops back to $40k, they will accumulate a lot of it.

1019  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: March 12, 2024, 10:03:14 AM
The funnest part is how little the odd is and still lost, however its all about luck not strategies or smartness.
True, the luck is the main factor, if someone's luck isn't good then he/she can lose a bet with so low odds while on the other hand if someone's luck if good then they could win bets with high odds. When it comes to strategy, high odds are always considered risky however, if someone's luck is not in their favor then low odds can also be risky. We have learnt a great lesson from that gambler, that luck is the main determiner of success in gambling without it there's loss only.
1020  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Consolidate full Transaction history via APIs from all exchanges on: March 12, 2024, 08:26:12 AM
There's is CCXT library which should allow you to connect to +100 exchanges and pull the data you need. I haven't tried it myself, but looking at the forks and stars the project has, I would say it's probably your best option if you have the technical knowledge to use it: https://github.com/ccxt/ccxt
I'm not sure about the OP but that library is going to be very helpful for me. Thanks for sharing that library, I believe we can do some algorithmic trading with that library. At that GitHub page I have found some other software that can be useful for my trading. If you can try it then that would be much helpful for OP since he's unable to do it himself.
