If a draw, then why is the following still up? BFL will Not ship any ASICS to customers by May 1st Butterfly Labs will not ship any ASIC based mining devices to customers by May 1st 2013 according to this they are saying they will be shipping withing a couple of weeks. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=160586.msg1697916#msg1697916Info Opening date: March 31, 2013 Bet deadline: April 29, 2013 end of day Eastern Time Event date: May 1, 2013 end of day Eastern Time Category: Technology Total agree bets: 11.30 Total disagree bets: 11.58 Total weighted agree bets: 7819.294 Total weighted disagree bets: 7642.537 And, exactly what would I be betting on here?: BFL will not ship the first batch of their ASIC miners before July 2013
Butterfly Labs has had a long history of postponing their shipment dates. You bet on the fact that the first batch BFL ASIC has not been shipped until July 1st 2013.

Won the bitbet bet for those who bet on that, sorry for those who bet on bestofbitcoin Am I reading this correctly? Two different sites with the same bet, but one awards and the other declares a draw?

I'm going to go out onto a limb here and state that I believe this Victor dude is a straight-up guy (seriously). He does have a viable business there in San Francisco. He has followed recently a Bitcoin entity on Twitter. He has purchased a few domain names related to Bitcoin, all about week after PrimeASIC registered on March 1, 2013. I'll chalk that up to coincidence.
I agree. We should ignore the Fraud, Grand theft and probation violations in florida. Also that time where he ripped off people with that jacket store in Maryland. People change. They totally do. They're criminals for 30 years and then *bam* one day they're model citizens. Thank you, Batman. Link(s) please, bud. Want to make sure it's not another Victor Suarez.

Discussion is now open

so now that we are all filthy rich lets stop talking about this and actually do it for christ sake.
All because we're rich, doesn't mean we use our own money. We're now in position to get others to fund our endeavors, like building an ASIC-based Bitcoin mining rig facility under the guise of we're only doing this so that others can prosper. Now, about my planet idea...

BoB didn't have a dedicated thread to discuss this issue, opting to post on Luke's thread, then based their decision from what was gleaned from there of which the evidence pointed heavily toward true. I voted true, hence enabling me to see the results of the poll on this thread. Amazing!

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/692-bfl-asic-status-3.htmlI want to clarify the above post, as there is some potential confusion. We are not shipping yet. We plan on shipping possibly by the end of next week, but I will update on a shipping schedule as soon as I have more definitive information with regards to that. Yet, a draw! Granted, there was evidence for both sides, but weighed heavily on the true side, and was all ignored.

Since the people who bet against BFL shipping clearly won - the Luke_JR posts are obviously ridiculous to any third party observer - the losers had a financial incentive to pay betsofbitco.in for calling draw and getting most of their money back.
If anyone on the losing side did indeed slip BoB a bribe to rule a draw, I'd certainly change my tune about BoB's conduct (also, as noted elsewhere, if anyone at BoB had any coins invested in that bet). But we haven't seen any evidence of this. What I think IS on much firmer ground is the supposition that Luke is colluding with Josh to manipulate the bet situation.I've already proven that the images were taken prior to midnight (CST) by Josh and Luke stated this thread after midnight (CST), hence a call was made from Josh to Luke.

USA takes a dim view of online gambling sites that do not pay out to US Citizens.. http://money.cnn.com/2012/07/02/news/companies/poker-ponzi/index.htmA bitcoin is no different to a poker chip and you have people/family involved in this bet with previous criminal record for international lottery scam. Surely gonna interest the FBI, you'd be better paying out, than stirring up a hornets nest. There sure is a lot of betting going on from a company who has a key person in control on probation that in no way should be involved in such a practice.

Also, is there a screenshot of the Bitcoin Magazine article prior to the changes? Is there an editor note of such changes? I'm just asking here, but find this worrisome, for I have the utmost respect for the crew running the mag. This will sadden me greatly.
~Bruno K~
No editor note. Proof is in the Google index and the article title (a word press article URL is built from the articles title; if the article title is changed later, the url stays the same) Got it! People need to stop turning to this forum's scammer tag as the end-all be-all of Bitcoin justice.
BoB screwed up big time, there's no doubt. But they're not trying to scam anyone, or they wouldn't have refunded the bet money. A scammer tag here won't accomplish anything constructive.
Instead, when a betting site proves that they are doing a poor job, boycott them, give your business to the competition. It's that simple.

I'm not giving him a scammer tag. By using betsofbitco.in, you agreed that betsofbitco.in staff would be the ones to decide events. It's none of my business how he does this.
So if they decide bets based on who pays them the most under the table, would they still not be tagged as a scammer? Scammer tags here truly are useless. Exactly what I just penned a couple posts above this one, for I recognized the same thing prior to reading your post, Beepbob.

<with all due respect, theymos> Example only---> Even if it's proven that payola is accepted to influence the outcome of a bet? I went a month once without looking, and haven't for about the past three days. My guess is that it's somewhere above $100 and climbing. (seriously)

All posts in this thread are off-topic except this one because I incorporated a keyword from its title, sans the e's, thus making this post true. I wonder if there is such a thing as Joshin' Jerky.

Oh no! It doesn't match the picture!
Big macs don't either. Do people get refunds from mcdonalds?
If you really wanna use that analogy for BFL: People who ordered a Big Mac 10 month ago now get two Chicken Nuggets instead. Unless McRibs are in season.

They are, after all, shipping now. So it shouldn't be long.
Are you really sure they are shipping now? I'm one of the early customers (day 3) and I bet I will not see my BFL product this month! How early? Josh said they can ship 500 a day, no, then he confirmed 300 a day. surely you have received the unit they shipped by now just like Luke? You missed the memo! BFL is mimicing Avalon. First to a dev. Second to TBF, hand-delivered. Next dozens to China.

Bob has bigger problems! I just read some of the current bets, and all of them have issues. Here's an example:

Luke posted OP on April 01, 2013, 12:36:32 AM.
Top image in OP taken on March 31, 2013 11:53:12PM.

@Luke: How did you receive the message from Josh that images were available depicting your unit?

We have carefully examined both sides of the argument. First of all, on our site title is definitely part of the agreement. We do not count the current status as BFL "shipping" the products, therefore other bets are still open. On the other hand the conditions in the description are met. Unfortunately the statement description, as it is written, can be interpreted as complementary conditions to shipping for more clear evidence or the definition of shipping. As much as we would like to settle the bet on one side (as we would earn a significant commission) we do not think that the situation is unambiguous under these circumstances which would be very hard to foresee at the time of statement initiation. As we have been doing before, we will continue to call a draw if there is a such an ambiguity. All the bets will be refunded without any commission.
You realize that every contentious bet is going to be "ambiguous" now, right? Any time someone is on the wrong side, they're going to claim that the rules weren't clear and try and get a refund. I have to agree with this post. I wish no ills toward BoB, but Bryan and others, along with mine, have shown one way or another that the bet is true. If nothing else, the post was made after midnight on April 1, 2013, as repeated a couple posts above the one I'm quoting. If Luke was so concerned about the bit, why didn't he post prior to midnight EST? I'm afraid that tbd has a valid point about all future and ongoing bets on BoB. Again, I have no ills toward BoB or Luke. ~Bruno K~ EDIT: @Luke: Still no ills, but leaning toward the below. If I lean further or change my stance, I'll post such. Later, bud. To conclude, Luke-jr is a douche-bag who tried to manipulate a wager, package a preshipping unit as the real deal, NEVER TOOK POSSESSION of it in the first place, lost all credibility on this forum (at least by me), and is still trying to defend his position. Really, you should really think about obtaining a priest position in the catholic community near you, at least then everyone would know you're a slimeball before you got a chance to open your mouth. (apologies for not including the author of quote above, but it's on this thread page 16)
