Probably not. Theymos can change them but only seems to do so occasionally for veteran members. I'd just create a new account if it's such an issue seeing as yours doesn't have much activity.

Yes, it downloads the entire blockchain, but you can get lightweight wallets like mycelium and electrum that don't download the blockchain (or use a web-based wallet like blockchain.info).

The forum does it automatically for some links from newbs. It wasn't manually applied.

I am aware of that. They can do what they like. Worst case, it ends up in court. At least it won't be outsourced to the Philippines that way and the judge will (hopefully) be able to understand the situation. I provided no warranty with this item and the advert specified no returns. Why should I be forced to give him a refund?
Welcome to PayPal. PayPal is great if you ever run into problems or get scammed as you'll 99% of the time get your money back. Not so great for the 99% of genuine sellers that get a fraudulent charegeback though. As far as I'm aware they'll send you out a few threatening letters from debt collecting agencies. Don't know if they'll have the gall to actually take you to court over such a small amount though.

I'm sure there's many people who have been in a similar situation to you on here. Did the buyer not message you first to try sort it out? Usually if they escalate the case without doing that it sounds like a scam to me. I am now selling other stuff on ebay. I guess that when I get paid for those items, I won't be able to withdraw the first £75 of that until e-bay resolve this one....which means that I will just not accept paypal as payment until it's resolved and also cut the link between my bank account and credit cards with Paypal.
If they find in the buyers favour and they can't take the money out of your balance or bank then they'll come after you for the money, so be aware of that.

Did you actually read my posts? They sent him to several therapists over the years and seemingly helped him as best they can. He wasn't a kid anymore and they can't force him to do anything. Plus, therapists aren't miracle workers. Seeing one doesn't mean you're not going to go on a killing spree.

I read his story a bit and If I didn't miss anything It's pretty much parents fault, that kid just needed help, like psychologist who would guide and give him suggestions on how to change his life. He just didn't have enough experience to understand that himself. There Is saying : Smart people will try to adapt to the world, unsmart people will try to change the world, thinking that their truth Is the only one and other people are wrong. And even worse is to wait till the world will "change" doing nothing and that's what that kid did. He waited till his life will change while he just waits? He wasnt wide minded enough to change his life in to a happy life. He just needed someone to guide him and parents didn't get him to psychologist?
that's pretty unfair to just point the finger towards his parents. how do you think it would upend their lives knowing that their son has a mental illness? they can't babysit him 24/7.. even if they wanted to, he probably wouldn't let it happen and would likely act out. Yeah, you can't just blame the parents everytime. The guy had issues and was seeing various shrinks since he was about 8-years-old I believe. Some people just can't be helped or stopped from going crazy/doing crazy shit.

Asking for a tip for it sounds pretty sketchy though, especially for so little. Why don't you just sell it?

I saw theymos legalize the account trading, but are you required to report the account you sold and bought to theymos?
No. Most people don't tell anyone what account they have bought or sold as they usually get negbombed by a couple of users if they're found out (see subud's feedback). It *is* a kind of shady business IMHO. I mean, why can't folks just open an account for themselves (it's free/gratis!). I really figure that the only reason someone would be buying accounts is that they're looking to spam the forum in one way or another and they need the higher activity in order to post more rapidly or with a larger ad-banner etc. Can you guys think of any legitimate reasons for buying accounts rather than just using the one you already have (you have to already have one inorder to communicate with subud to buy, I think.)? You've just described the main reason probably 99.9% of accounts are now sold for. It might be 'shady', but it's currently allowed by the forum and obviously they've created a market for accounts by changing the signature restrictions. You can email Subud rather than create an account, and plenty of people do open accounts for free and build them up, but some people obviously don't want to wait the time it takes to be able to participate in sig deals and think it's worthwhile just buying an account to skip the wait.
|
|
|
That's not a signature deal though. There were rumors that they will be advertising sigs on other forums, not just this one. I guess we will have to wait and see when they are going to release those campaigns here. Its smart not to base a sig campaign only on this this site alone
Why couldn't you just put the signature in any forum you post on? Already posted it .

I read somewhere that it was going to be launched this summer. I'm still stuck on PD2 so something new will just make it confusing to an old timer like myself lol
Summer 2015? I'm sure it's coming very soon. Oh, and you need to take your wallet address out of your PD sig. Don't know if you've noticed it's in there.

I can lend you that or buy a Litecoin off you for BTC if you want.
I'd rather not sell my LTC right now if not needed, so I'll lend it. My address is : 1BYcHKDJ8bnn3rUr4ycdvbbZuWn1e5bv9A , re-payment will be within the next week, probably in two days or so already. Ok. Give me 10 mins.

Finally an economist who actually talks some sense, but I think anybody with any will know that paper money will be phased out at eventually. A digital currency, whether Bitcoin or something else, will inevitably become the norm sooner or later.

Well that's the price you pay if you dont want to go through exchanges and want to use PP. I bought my very first coins off eBay for like £70 and I paid a premium but it was worth it.
Have you got a debit card? You can use the Bittylicious exchange which is simple and safe and I recommend it. You'll have your coins in minutes.
