10101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: November 22, 2016, 11:24:08 AM
Overall today was a bad day for betting in the NBA with a few upsets. I knew the Grizzlies were okay but I didn't expect them to win so easily. The Hornets never really had a chance after a poor 1st half. Also I was very disappointed in the Pacers performance as I really thought they would cover the +14.5 point spread but they were finished in that 1st quarter by a dominate display by the Warriors. Even the Mavericks pushed the Spurs right down to the wire with the Spurs hanging on late to win by 5 points.
It happens, you still have it tomorrow. What is important is you will not stop gambling so you can still win. It's gambling actually and regardless of the type of game we still have a chance to lose. Grin

Today's game (Clippers vs Raptors) was a close game, point spread for Raptors are good to cover I guess.

Yesterday was my bad day for me but I manage to recover my losses in today game. I won on Houston @1.73 and Memphis @2.72. Tommorow I bet for the Los Angeles @2.04, I hope I can continue my streak. Grin
I guess the Lakers are in good spot tomorrow, they are still playing at home and coming off from 2 straight loses from home is big. They will need to do revenge here, and I believe they can do it against the thunder.

Line is just right I guess as thunder has WB on them a superstar but then again, it's hard to rely on one player only and lakers play like a team.
10102  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin price is $10.000, will fiat be worthless? on: November 22, 2016, 11:18:20 AM

For the bitcoin, you can just invest a certain amount of money every months. The price will rise in the long term.

That's sounds doable for an average investor, the good thing with bitcoin is that we do not need to raise a big amount of money because we can be eligible for investment, a little amount is already enough and we can do that on a installment basis which I believe would be easier for everyone.
10103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin transactions - Slow OR Fast on: November 22, 2016, 11:13:00 AM
I say Slow Wins the Argument Now:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689151.msg16952006#msg16952006

What is the normal amount of bitcoins transactions in queue? Currently it is close to 30000 transactions.
I have a transaction waiting for over 16 hours now. It has a fee, so am I guarenteed that it will be confirmed?

view the queue length here
https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

 Cool

FYI:
Average Block is holding between 1400 & 2600 transactions,
blockspeed of 10 minutes
Ok I'll let you say bitcoin is slow today but this is a rare occurrence, my transaction quoted above still has not confirmed.
If i had control over that tx i would have checked the charts first and added the appropriate fee, that is another problem with online wallets that they don't update their fee structures often enough.

But on the bright side the transaction did appear instantly lile always and will still be available quicker than a bank transfer.
True, the fact that we can see the transaction appear in the blockchain though it was just unconfirm it already give us a comfortable feeling that our transaction was recognize, if that is not for emergency then there's no problem to wait for it to be confirm even a day.
10104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In what gambling games are you good at? on: November 22, 2016, 11:05:30 AM
My clever gamble on dice. indeed I used to always get the defeat of sites dice but slowly, now I get the average profit of the dice. other than dice website I also like to gamble at the site of the ball. I would bet if the team was playing my idol
I am so impressed by your, you might be too lucky that you have a winning record in dice games, me I have no luck in dice so I just focus in other type of games, and I like games where no house edge involved like what you said "site of the ball" sports betting.
10105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everyone looses in the long run on: November 22, 2016, 08:26:46 AM
If gambling is your sole purpose of earning money then you would lose in the long run the best possible situation to avoid is go get a real job and do gamble for the fun of it and rather do not take this seriously and you wont lose in the long run .
You have to be very good to be able to succeed with your journey in gambling. I believe that's the toughest way of making money as the percentage of chances to win are very low, we can see that since gambling sites are profitable and there are a bunch of losers having a negative comments about gambling.
10106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: November 22, 2016, 08:05:18 AM
For me gambling is really good than to invest first thing to do is just trust your self and don't trust investment website it's like you are going to deposit and earn from your own money and waiting to get back to return your investment before you can make profit there in gambling if you are good then you can easily made profit instantly.

Everyone have their own opinion so i personally think investment is best than gambling, because in gambling risk rate is very high even if you are a good gambler, gambling is totally based on luck and you lost most of the time while playing. So stop playing gambling if you really want to earn some bitcoins without loosing your own coins.
Totally? Not really, if that is the case then I would not make any effort anymore finding ways to increase my winning percentage in gambling. Maybe for gambler who do it occasionally thinks that it's base on luck but for us who gambles for the money we have to be skilled to win.
10107  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: November 22, 2016, 08:03:02 AM
For the price to drop that much it would take unlikely acenarioa to happen in the short term. The only reason it would plummet like that would be loss of confidence by holders or massive regulatory restrictions.

So let's face it, if btc drops to $100 any time soon, you'd be thinking thrice about buying up.

1000 dollars price of bitcoins was possible but it will takes more years to happen, i have faith that bitcoins will go higher than the predict price but for now, i will just think for the possible things happens. Digital Currency price was not stable, so we should also consider that the price of bitcoins will also fluctuate. Lets look on the reality. Bitcoins price goes up and down, so we better think of practicality. i will buy now before its too late.
It's possible because we have already achieve that price..

Yes it is already increasing but for the price of bitcoin it doesn't need to take years before it pass to reached the hope of many which is $1,000. I guess that will happen before the end of the year. And with this Christmas season for sure many are going to buy bitcoins and doesn't need to wait for the price of bitcoin to reach down to $100.
I am also positive we are going to hit that level, just another pump as the price now started to neutralize. I would not be disappointed if $1,000 will not be achieve this year as I am confident we can have it early next year.
10108  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: November 22, 2016, 07:55:23 AM
Maybe not to get rich, but sure as hell to earn a decent amount of money with bitcoins.

How much money did you earn with bitcoins? Or did you lose some?

One of my bad experience is when I lost few bitcoin in exchange and haven't got back yet, but/and I took a good lesson.
These were my first bitcoins that I invested with my savings money for months/years and I got scammed by exchange hackers.
But I believe your first bad experience will not stop you from achieving your dreams with bitcoin ecosystem as there are a lot of similar opportunities available to get back your bitcoins. The getting rich with the bitcoin is highly possible when you keep on earning regardless of whatever bad experience you are facing.
Learn from your experience and you will succeed, do you think the rich people has no failure in life? Sometimes, that failure will make us strong and if wea are devoted enough to achieve our dreams we can have it with bitcoins as our investment.
10109  Economy / Economics / Re: If you were in desperate need for money.... on: November 22, 2016, 06:34:30 AM
I have always worked to have money. When it was time, and even on the internet earnings was not, then I have worked hard physically and extracted what I need.

Someone would probably work for the money he needs, but not always you have that much time to work and earn the money you need desperately at that moment, so in such times you need to do something urgently like taking a loan or selling something etc, that is why it is always good to have savings.

If you already have the bitcoin and do not need it to pay for living, it is better to save it for the long term.
You will die with your bitcoins, you are in desperate situation so you have no choice but to sell it..
I think that makes sense is to sell items that you NESS or borrow money to someone, it is the best choice. you can not possibly work and wait for the paycheck comes because obviously your need to be paid immediately, so I think immediately sell important goods that you have
As long as you are a good payor you can easily take a loan, protect your reputation as that is the most important to gain people's trust. And one thing, do not borrow money when yo do not need it so in times of trouble you still have someone you can approach because you do not max out your credit limit.

10111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: November 22, 2016, 05:41:55 AM
For me the safest way to gamble is betting about 0.01% of your balance, with that strategy and discipline you will get a possible 0.01% of losing your whole balance. Most of the time the safest thing is the slowest.

Depend on how big is ur bankroll, if your bankroll is only 1btc, then 0.01% may not be workable for sport betting. So you need to adjust accordingly to your bankroll and what type of gambling are you into.
I think 0.01 % betting means you are either very rich and have 100 bitcoins around otherwise you are gambling like people do with faucets.

The safest way to gamble is reduce the number of bets and hence lower the edge, see there is a clear logic the more you wager the more you will loose. So make the wager lesser and lesser is the only chance I can see for winning.
I guess with  0.01 % of your bankroll per bet is just too boring, you cannot expect to win big. In my case, I like to bet like 5% of the total bankroll because it's more exciting to me since I do not really have a decent amount of bankroll. I have to take a bigger risk because I ain't professional.
10112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: November 22, 2016, 05:33:56 AM
I'm afraid that Bitcoin is making Banks APPEAR -- in the form of the IRS   Shocked

Apparently the IRS wants to ID me and every other CoinBase User since 2013.

https://www.owler.com/reports/coinbase/the-irs-wants-to-id-every-us-coinbase-user-from-20/1479503880150?utm_campaign=ep&utm_source=snapshot&utm_medium=articlelink&source=snapshot_events_page

For sure banks will find a way to profit with Bitcoin, they aren't fool and that's why they have all this power. Let's wait for this bomb arrives.

If they can't destroy the blockchain, they will tax, ban exchanges, and things like that, nothing new.
They will but the only hindrance to their success is their nature, bank are centralize while bitcoin is decentralized. That reality cannot be change, they can have their system but they cannot gain the trust of the people who chooses to have their way to achieve freedom.
10113  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: November 22, 2016, 05:27:29 AM
Although I dont know the number of people on this forum, but I know its not a few spread across countries and continents, that sends a signal and that we have one thing in common and that is our belief in Bitcoin so if you are are sure of your resolution just ask yourself " what are all these people doing here?" and your questions will be answered whether to believe or not?...

Exactly, it depends on the beliefs of an individual about bitcoin, if you think it does not worth your believe then just don't, if you think it does then do believe on it, as the guy mentioned above, you should think that why would so many people be involved with something if it does not deserve believing?

Most people only look the temporal profit. They cannot understand or they don’t mind that bitcoin is a real revolution for the world economy. The logic of his creator as well as and those who had implemented it had other causes and not only the financial profit. So if you believe in creator/s beliefs you believe in bitcoin.

I believe that Satoshi is aiming something for the good of all people and as well as the world economy. But of course, we can't remove those people who are subject to against this good project. But I can say that as long as we already proved that bitcoin is real and tough currency. Then more and more of us will keep on trusting it.
For some people its hard to believe that something that only exist virtually has bigger value than a fiat currency, also even though there is a value that big because it only exist virtually they are scared that some day it will be gone without a trace or something related to that. Also what we can rely now is for people in businesses to start accepting Bitcoin as they will be the stepping stone for more people to accept it.
Until they know bitcoin they will be surprise what the current status now, it's never too late for them to adopt because we need them to increase the market circulation of bitcoin, therefore as a loyal supporter of bitcoin we should keep doing our contribution which is to promote bitcoin.
10114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: November 22, 2016, 05:17:59 AM
only gamble what you can afford to lose
play to lose win if you can
now a days you can play for fun on a lot of site so really if you want a bit of fun then do that
as winning is additive but losing is realty so stop be for you  start.
only u can stop yourself if you want to so try and play for fun instead of for real cash then hopefully u might be able to stop.
If we have self discipline and self control, I think we can manage to play gambling, win or lose, we can make it happen and we can move forward just have discipline we can fight in that addiction.
Discipline and calmness is gone once we start gambling and get addicted to it. I don't know if you ever got addicted but I know some addicted gamblers personally and hey they don't know anything other than gambling.
You can think like a drunken person is equal to an addicted gambler because none of them talks with any sense or any logic.
well i assumed that too. once you've got addicted into something its hard to get rid of it. like being alcoholic you will always find a way to get some alcohol for your self. and gambler is like that too. that's why they can't stop on being addicted to gambling unless they really need too. with a proper guidance and proper self discipline we can control our self from gambling . and always mark on your mind that if you gamble you will end up on losing.
True, therefore prevention is better than cure. You cannot make your self addicted as you will certainly lose everything so beware of the possibilities and be futuristic, instead make it a point that you will have fun instead of just gambling for the money.
10115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin Friendly Countries on: November 22, 2016, 05:08:33 AM
I can't exactly say that the Philippines is bitcoin-friendly but if we base the transaction volume coming from there, which I think ranks in the top 5, you can say that the Philippines is ahead of most other countries. We know that the Filipinos are very fond of social media and are very much almost always online, so the digital currency is something that they are already using.

Yes, i also believe that the philippine could be one of the top bitcoin friendly countries. I've been online for many years mostly in social media and i saw the steady rise of online filipinos that uses bitcoin in their digital transactions. If we want the philippines to be on the top rankings, it must first address its slow internet speed and improve its present digital infrastructure.

Definitely. Philippines is also a bitcoin friendly country for many Filipinos are now using bitcoin and many entities here accept bitcoin payments. But the only thing is the internet connection speed, as you said, is being the issue for the rise of bitcoin transactions here in our country. Only if there would be a fast connection and a free wifi in every streets of the Philippines, I guess bitcoin usage would be popular to many Filipinos since we are easily adopting the current trends in technology.
We are going to that direction, in the future there's an improvement as everything can be done in the internet including our business so the government will certainly made laws to improve our infrastructures and that includes free internet for everyone.
10116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting On US Elections... on: November 21, 2016, 02:15:06 PM
I wonder how many of you here bet on Trump and how much did you bet and how much did you make ?

It will be interesting to see all the different bets.

To those people who bet on Trump I think they are partying right now lol

Lol hell yea !! Lol I was going to say that.

Definitely they are.. the election result was really unbelievable I never thought that Trump is going to win. I really don't think that he's going to be the next president of US even in my dream LOL.

We should be done discussing here as the election was already over. Let's move on to the next election and I requesting this thread to be lock since it's irrelevant to discuss the topic anymore.
10117  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the US Dollar dominate bitcoin trading on: November 21, 2016, 02:08:58 PM
The US dollar has been dictating most of the trades world wide from crude oil to anything.  Is there a possibility that it will dominate in the trading of Bitcoin?
Well, I think that trading will mostly involve different altcoins and not USD or something like that. People would trade litecoins for bitcoins and bytes and so on. Usual currencies will leave the game field, because they are just to different and are strongly connected to specific countries.
It's universal here, and big countries such as US who thinks their fiat is losing it's value are investing their money in bitcoin because bitcoin moves on base on the demand, and it's getting bigger the adoption which makes the price increase. Maybe we just think US Dollar dominate bitcoin because it's how it's measured.
10118  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: November 21, 2016, 01:57:52 PM
Why I have bitcoin instead of cash is because its easier and also more trust able if you ask me.
Plus you cannot also not lose it and its everywhere accessible.
Bitcoin is not yet that fully trustable and for me i'm going to choose cash instead of bitcoin since im earning my cash from bitcoin i have trust on bitcoin also im always trading bitcoin into fiat money it's really easy to exchange when we need money and if you lose money from  bank you can trace it not like bitcoin.
So what will happen to your earning if there's no bitcoin, I guess you will not be able to earn anymore. They have different purpose and actually there's no sense of choosing because we needed them both, bitcoin gives income and cash is we use to spend.
10119  Economy / Economics / Re: what your plan for future ? and how to manage your time ? on: November 21, 2016, 01:51:40 PM
At this point I'm either looking to save my money or get it into some investments, and while the investments are risk it does have the reward portion to it as well. Losing some money here and there helps to give you experience as well as toughen you up when it comes to watching the market and identifying where you should buy or sell. From what I'm seeing on preev right now, I might have been lucky to get out where I did, and there will likely be a trough waiting for the buy-in.

Patience is virtue and that is what we need when we are buying, it's the trend of bitcoin that once it goes up it will come down, and all you have to do is to instill discipline in your self and wait for the right timing, everything will come at the right time to give you an opportunity to buy.
