If some newbies are stupid enough to trust other newbies and junior members, then what do you think is going to happen when they then say "Yeah, I'm officially trusted by Stunna, the owner of this massive gambling website who is really trusted..." (and so on)?

Then it's their own fault really and there's nothing we can do to prevent idiots getting scammed. And they're not trusted by Stunna. He hasn't put them on his trusted list, he just left people feedback for partaking in the sig deal and he clearly stated that and it's there for everybody to read and to make their own minds up whether that particular user should be trusted or not. It's not like our pages are glowing green right now and the community can't be expected to babysit idiots all the time.

I didn't say they were trusted by Stunna. But for people new to Bitcoin it's very easy for their minds to be swayed by something like that. I don't see how you should suddenly get trusted feedback because you made some posts and got paid, that's not a "trustworthy" action.

You said that's what others will think and if they do then that's their problem. Everybody is free to leave the feedback as they wish and people are free to interpret it as they wish, but as I said before, I agree that the feedback is meaningless when it's given en mass like this, but you could also argue the majority of your feedback isn't for stuff that makes you trustworthy either. What happens if people don't think users should get feedback for calling out a few scammers? There are also far easier ways get positive feedback on here. You can essentially buy it from certain users. For example, Escrow.ms leaves feedback for anyone who uses his escrow. A newb could set up a load of alts and fake trades for tiny amounts and get as many +1s as he wants.

There are probably a couple of sites but they're also probably an absolute waste of your time just like faucets are. I'd spend your time more productively. I can guarantee it'll be more profitable for you posting on here as part of your signature deal than playing some crappy game to collect dust.
10124  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 29, 2014, 11:23:46 AM
I'd PM him if you're that concerned, but do you really think people are going to be getting scammed on the basis of an extra +1(1) on their profile? And if they do then it's their own fault to be honest.
10125  Other / Off-topic / Re: Creating fake sig campaign to increase competition? on: May 29, 2014, 11:16:55 AM
Wanna throw out a number? I mean significantly can just mean 10%.... I would be amazed by .001 BTC for members and maybe .002 for hero... But then again that's almost a dollar a post for members. Their sig campaign must be working!

1 Bitcoin per post. I doubt he's going to pay anything near what you suggested for either membergroups. And what good would me 'throwing out a number' be? I'm just telling you what he said. It's pointless wildly speculating what he may or may not pay. We can only wait for that to be revealed.
10126  Other / Meta / Re: Accuracy down to 98% on: May 29, 2014, 11:10:10 AM
It probably depends on a number of factors. Time of day, mods online, number of reports currently in the que etc. Sometimes it can take a while to be handled and other times it's almost instantaneous. You'll find out soon enough.
10127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Snowden should 'man-up' and face trial: says SOS John Kerry on: May 29, 2014, 10:04:12 AM
Yep, a real patriot would come back to be assasinated.

Let's face it, it's either that or get thrown in jail for half of his life.

Quote
He should man up and come back to the United States. If he has a complaint about what's the matter with American surveillance, (he should) come back here and stand in our system of justice and make his case.

"If he cares so much about America and he believes in America, he should trust the American system of justice.

Make his case and then get sent straight to prison? The USG should apologise to Snowden and the rest of the world and then publicly pardon him. I also don't see how you can't care about a country but not trust the justice system which is obviously corrupt and won't give him a fair trial.
10128  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Commercialization of MH370 search efforts on: May 29, 2014, 09:56:48 AM
Do we need to spend any more money on this? It is almost 100% certain that none of the passengers survived the flight. And already the various governments have spend a large amount of money to locate the black box, without any success. May be it is time to end all this.

If it was just the Malaysian government who suggested this I'm sure you'd be complaining about how badly they're treating the family members. It's not about finding survivors but finding out what actually happened to the plane and the causes of it.

Alt coin giveaways aren't allowed now unless they're off-site ones. Most of the coins that are gave away or air-dropped for free will never be worth anything anyway. It's just a cheap advertising gimmick to try get people involved.
10130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC or LTC will replace Paypal some day? on: May 29, 2014, 09:00:53 AM
I'm not sure if it will ever replace Paypal but hopefully it'll take a massive chunk of their profits or force then to change their business practises. I think Bitcoin is going to need payment processors to go mainstream so maybe PP will incorporate Bitcoin at some point in the future. I know they're keeping an eye in it but hopefully at some point they'll be forced to implement it to compete in the market.

10132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for Signature program for Jr Member. on: May 29, 2014, 08:27:41 AM
To be honest, if I was operating a signature campaign I wouldn't even accept Members as their links are so small and this will obviously have a big impact on the traffic they generate. I think bitmixer is the only deal to accept only Snr/Hero though but that's largely because of their fancy sig design that only works with them.
10133  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 29, 2014, 08:21:15 AM
Is it true that Stunna will be increasing the pay per post for the upcoming primedice 3? If so, how much will he be raising it to?
I'm Keeping an eye on this one too..! would be great if Stunna can make up her/his :p mind before 1st when most of the Ritz members will be switching to other campaigns .. !

Why? Just join another deal until the new PD rates are confirmed, but he did say he would beat the competition by a significant margin.
10134  Other / Meta / Re: Accuracy down to 98% on: May 29, 2014, 08:11:13 AM
I think the people who report near or in excess of 1000 posts will be the rare exception, aside from probably moderators.

Is there a daily average of posts reported available? That would be interesting to see. Does the mods' job mainly just consist of handling reports?
10135  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elliot Rodger Killed 7 and Wounded 7 on: May 29, 2014, 08:05:55 AM
it's such wasted opportunity.. he was a good looking dude and son of a director who is wealthy.. damn, a normal functioning kid in his position can have it all really.

You're really starting to sound like you've got the hots for him  Cheesy. What's the biggest tragedy here? The killings or that fine piece of ass he just wasted? Haha.
10136  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite Bitcointalk member on: May 29, 2014, 08:02:40 AM
Yeah, this is more off-topic than Meta and definitely not Bitcoin Discussion. Though I'm sure a mod will move it if it's in the wrong place.

can't say i have a favorite, but i think after spending some time with certain people, you can get a feel for how you'd get along if it were in real life, and there are a few people i think i would get along with.

I hope I'm one of them haha  Cool.
10137  Other / Meta / Re: Accuracy down to 98% on: May 29, 2014, 07:55:44 AM
If it would be incorrect for a moderator to do anything in response to a report at the time when the report was made, then the report is considered inaccurate. Reports are explicitly marked as incorrect by moderators. It's also possible (though rare) for a report to be marked as neither good nor bad -- such reports don't count toward your accuracy percentage.

Average accuracy is 56%, so 60% (66% now) isn't bad. Unless you're only reporting really obvious stuff, very few people will have accuracies above 90%. Even if you have the correct mindset for moderation, you won't know the policies well enough until you've been a moderator for a while.
I think that this is all pretty good! Any accuracy percentage above ~25% is probably fine.
Thanks for the update Smiley so Reporting is like a duty and helping Mods.

I imagine users reporting posts are largely what the mods rely on, so yeah it probably helps out a great deal. Most mods probably won't have the time to patrol the entire forum of their respective sub and can only handle stuff via reports and whatever they happen to come across themselves.

What does the first sentence mean? I can't wrap my head around it  Undecided.

And would a very high percentage of accurate reports ever actually count against you? I'd like to keep mine as high as possible just for my own personal achievement/entertainment (as lame as that might sound  Cool), but I don't think I just report 'obvious' stuff, but obviously can only report things I'm aware of, but I'd like to think I've learnt and know generally what most things should and shouldn't be reported by now (though I'm not claiming I know everything as there's bound to be things I'd miss or aren't aware that should be reported as of yet). I wish there was an extensive thread somewhere of what stuff should and shouldn't be reported though. I think that would help a lot of users out (and also consequently the forum).
10138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for Signature program for Jr Member. on: May 29, 2014, 07:20:06 AM
What do you mean by 'do' exactly? How to pass the time or earn whilst you wait? There's no way you can speed up the process so I'd just contribute as normal and make sure you have enough posts to get the activity points per fortnight. If you want to earn some coins you could try sell some things on the Marketplace here or offer your services in the Services section.
10139  Other / Off-topic / Re: death of a star?? on: May 29, 2014, 07:13:32 AM
Yeah, under the right circumstances, but that's not what he saw, and they obviously don't just burn up and are gone in a few seconds. A visible dead star would be seen so for weeks.

you know stars explode right? the heat really gets to a low point, but it's compacting.

Yes, but you don't see them blow up in a few seconds. The light takes millions of light years to reach us and lasts for a while so we don't see them just explode and instantly dissapear from view.

He wasn't watching the entire sequence of an exploding star.  Just the final seconds before the light extinguished.

Yeah, but they'd very slowly just fade from view, and wouldn't be like what op described at all. I'm almost certain he didn't see a dying star.

What was the permaban for? Just spamming? And did you get the why did you ban pobre account too? Cheesy

Slightly off topic, but when you view a thread but the last poster - ie you in this case - edits his post after, does that thread become 'unread' (or that there's been a new reply)? I haven't noticed it with any other user except a few times after you've edited your posts in Meta (but maybe that's just a coincidence?).
