10141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which anonymous coin? on: May 09, 2018, 10:20:10 AM
Hey guys,

as I noticed that I´m still missing an anonymous coin in my portfolio, I´d like to ask for your suggestion.
I´m thinking about Dash, Monero and Zcash. Right now I would prefer Dash as it has a huge community imho and a good Marketing.

Or should I go more risky and invest in coins like DeepOnion?

Thanks and greetings from Germany  Cool Cool

Whatever advice you get from people here or anywhere else, do your own research and get the coin you want for your own reasons. My take is simple. Just like Bitcoin was the first mover, Monero is the same for privacy coins.

It has a huge community too, and even a big network of traders and users, I don't know if larger than all the others, but you might see the difference between the communities of coins like DeepOnion and Verge, which are a whole bunch of shillers and newbies (in my opinion) who probably actually never even use the coin.
10142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Not a good time to buy, according to this source on: May 09, 2018, 08:18:26 AM
Actually, I believe in the complete opposite. When there is no engagement, when everyone is talking it down, when everything is dull and future looks bleak, that's when it's a good time to buy. But that having been said, there is no bad time to buy, if you're a holder and are thinking about 5 years at least into the future. Of course we all want the best entries, but second best is buying 5 years before Bitcoin reaches 1 million dollars, right? Wink
10143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bytecoin Skyrockets 114% in Less than 24 Hours on: May 08, 2018, 03:20:02 PM
I used to see Bytecoin trend a lot in Bittrex (if I recall correctly) in late 2017, never got in though and I think it was one of the worst performers during the alt crashes that followed this year. Never knew much about it to be honest, but I wouldn't say a doubling of price is skyrocketing exactly. Seen plenty of coins do that (Verge in the same category is one which seems to do it pretty often). Binance listing still does a lot for alts, doesn't it?
10144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: May 08, 2018, 01:52:03 PM
Circle's Monero onramp is about the biggest news for the adoption of the currency as I can remember.  And I kinda go back a ways... Smiley

I think the price action right now considering this is a real sleeper.  Very typical of XMR.

No worries though.  Price action is fickle and fairly meaningless in the short term...

I held Monero some time after the dark markets announcements, but it does feel surreal to have someone like Circle take Monero on. XMR as usual doesn't seem to react much to these types of centralized markets. When Japanese exchanges dropped privacy coins, XMR didn't fall. I personally think that's good news for XMR, though. Typical, like you said, and in the big picture, meaningless.
10145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Its over guys on: May 08, 2018, 12:51:13 PM
What do you mean by end of days? End of bitcoin, i don't think so. Just because you see a bloodbath you now give up on bitcoin? Volatility is what we can attribute to bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general. You got to have a nerve of steel to deal with it. With the recent dip, you have to look at that as an opportunity to earn and make profit. Just plain and simple strategy, buy low and sell high. As simple as that and you can make big profit.

Hope, the guy is not thinking any more about the doomsday of the cryptocurrency. probably, when he was leaving this post here, he was feeling depressed.

It's not about nerves of steel, this isn't gambling. It's just that he set his expectations too high, and to be honest, so do most of us in here. For some, it's a game, we're using money we don't need. For others, they made much more of a commitment and risk. It's not always so simple, and we can turn on them now because we seem to be doing better. But not one of us can claim to know more than anyone else in this space, so let's take it easy on these guys and hope they change their minds.
10146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Vs Weak Hands on: May 08, 2018, 11:36:13 AM
The world of crypto comprises of two classes of people, the WEAK HANDS and the STRONG HANDS.
-Early dumpers and those who dump at prices lower than the ICO price of any coin, are known as weak hands.
-While those who hold a coin(s) until prices increase to appreciable level are know as the strong hands.

This is a humble call to all investors, most especially bounty hunters. Let us endeavour to hold whatever token/coin we earn or better still if you want to dump early, do not dump at prices below the ICO price of any coin.

I think it's got to be more complicated than that. Some traders at least are neither strong nor weak, they simply follow the rules of their strategy, entering at prices and exiting at levels their strategy determines. Some holders also dedicate a percentage of their holdings for alt trading, with the long aim of growing their holdings.

Don't bother with bounty hunters. They all want to make their cash and move on to the next bounty.
10147  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-08] Bitcoin to Rally on Consensus Conference, Fundstrat Analyst Says on: May 08, 2018, 09:00:22 AM
I don't really understand the reasons behind this prediction. I mean, rallies are always about talking up and hyping up something, so why would a rally cause Bitcoin's price to rise? I mean, I know Consensus is a big thing, but they aren't actually in control of anything, now if there was going to be a rally for whales and they all announced that they would be buying up more Bitcoin, then maybe we might see others buy up also.
10148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Timing the switch on: May 07, 2018, 10:21:43 PM
Seems pretty solid introduction post from a newbie member, nicely written!

I don't know if "correcting" issues of Bitcoin is really something that makes Ethereum unique. Almost every alt, by nature of being the alternative to Bitcoin, thinks and hopes it addresses some kind of related issue. Skycoin, for example, claims to be built by both ex Bitcoin and ex Ethereum developers, who want to fix what they think are problems with the two.

Nothing is perfect sure, and even Bitcoin is constantly improving and upgrading. Ethereum suffered reputational damage because it forked in 2016. Hard for some like me to get over that.

And as butka points out, this smart contract thing would have compromised Bitcoin's security.
10149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PCL] Peculium - Speculation on: May 07, 2018, 06:06:33 PM
This is one of my favorite projects since last year. Been promoting and boasting it through social media and bitcointalk but was disappointed lately. Moving on to another project. Good luck.

That means you didn´t find out what this project is about in depth & what huge impact it will give to early adopters & traditional savings later this year, when the products go live and that this is NOT a quick rich scheme.

Looks like people really don't understand what it means to get involved with a project and support it for the long haul. Haven't even completed a year and he's jumped ship? If I jumped after a year on all my projects, I'd probably have jumped off all of them. Maybe these guys should just stick with the hold strategy for alts. Buy random alts and wait 6 months before moving on. What ever happened to loyal supporters of a good idea in this world of crypto, huh?
10150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC might trigger a bloodbath today: >50%: May 7th: Wake Up! on: May 07, 2018, 02:13:01 PM
Definitely agree that ETH is safe (it's going to be extremely hard to argue for it as a security, 100% impossible in my eyes) and definitely agree Ripple faces the keener danger. Eth's decentralization over the past 2 years will also bode well for it, while XRP's extreme centralization will definitely make SEC extra strict.

All the same, I doubt the SEC will make an absolute statement over both tokens. They might single out specific ERC20 tokens, however.
10151  Economy / Economics / Re: Is small business ready to sell for cryptocurrency? on: May 07, 2018, 11:16:07 AM
Look at the sub sections of this forum, especially in the marketplace and goods/digital goods. These all qualify as small businesses. People selling small products, yes, it is a completely niche market with only small quantities produced and a small customer base, but they only accept payments in Bitcoin, and have been doing so for many years. Small businesses are ready, but only if they are ready to transition from old to new. If profit model will always be in fiat, then of course there cannot be true transition.
10152  Economy / Economics / Re: Is banking still important in the bitcoin era? on: May 07, 2018, 07:47:59 AM
of course, the bank has its own role in a country, its small example as a container for lending capital, other credits and as its, even though the development of crypto world is very rapid, but the bank has its own role, and they will not close the company, maybe later them will follow also the current development of the crypto world

true, banks is still essential today even if cryptos are soaring today, because not everything can buy and paid in bitcoin, we need banks for conversions of bitcoin to fiats in less fees, there are other purposes of banks that bitcoin cannot cater like housing loan, car loan ,business loan and salary loans, we still need banks, we can live with it up to now, we are ok with cryptos and banks co-existence.

Not really, I have never used a bank for my conversion, I either use exchanges or just peer 2 peer exchanges. It is true that I still use a bank account to receive my fiat, but if you think about it, if everyone accepted crypto, I would never need to convert to fiat anymore. It is simply a matter of time before that happens. Now you can even get crypto loans to buy cars and houses even, and get salaries in Bitcoin. Banks are forced to co exist but their days are numbered.
10153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HOW WILL THE WORLD CUP EFFECT CRYPTOCURRENCY? on: May 06, 2018, 04:48:27 PM
Meh. I don't think any event really has any impact on crypto. Long term happenings and situation like war, yes, economic troubles, yes, like in Venezuela. Or even political like Iran, North Korea, Syria, where bitcoiners are leading the underground charge for financial independence. The world cup is big, bigger than olympics, but hardly going to have any effect on crypto.

Maybe sport related especially football related coins will have a new rally. For example Footballcoin has so much potential but only a few players play that game. They don't have a decent market yet. They will have special games for World Cup. I'm expecting a rise for XFC price.

Yeah, I wasted my time with sports related coins in the past. Too small value, and not global enough.
10154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hold your ETH until cross 1k on: May 06, 2018, 02:47:50 PM
I don't think there were enough rest. I believe we won't see new ATH this year. Even though I expect ETH to fall down to finish the latest dump move I would not sell my ETH. I can't risk it to sell now to buy lower. I try to accumulate more ETH until we see the new rally.

My thoughts too. I think we needed a lot more time to consolidate, this small bullish moves are picking up steam but not sure there's enough gas in it to last the round. I did sell some of my ETH at $820 though, expecting a fallback to 750 and I can see these are close to triggering, but I'll also buy back if it moves to $800 heh. 1k is still a distance...
10155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Battle between BTC and Other Coins? on: May 06, 2018, 01:12:30 PM
You should look it up yourself, plenty of discussions on this forum discussing that but in summary yes, the entire crypto world relies on Bitcoin. When it is healthy, alts tend to get even healthier, and when it is frail, alts get even more frail. There are short periods where alts sometimes get a huge boost against BTC, in the past normally because of demand for ICOs (ETH the favorite example here).

But make no mistake, the fate of alts ultimately relies on Bitcoin.
10156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Biblepay (based on Dash) is looking for an Android wallet developer on: May 06, 2018, 11:47:20 AM
I strongly doubt that a crypto currency with this name will be accepted by the community. And this I'm not talking about the technical side

Not religious or anti religious here, but I'd agree very much. I mean, you immediately close off your shores to people who will associate biblepay with the obvious religion reference, why kill yourself before you start? At least Jesuscoin and was there also Messiah coin some time back? These had an immediate appeal of fun/joke/meme/scam... Then again, sometimes that kind of marketing drives interest and curiosity so what do I know?
10157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buying your ERC20 wallet tokens - Especially unlisted tokens!! on: May 05, 2018, 09:10:51 PM
Hi there, I think I might have one or two shitcoins I wouldn't mind selling for some liquid Ether. Your system doesn't really work for me though, would you be willing to consider using smart contract escrow to complete the trade? That way, both parties get a nice protection, we don't need to trust anyone, and we use a functionality of the Eth blockchain and smart contract.

Oh and, you want WAVES shittokens too?
10158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DASH a sleeping Giant on: May 05, 2018, 08:52:27 PM
Actually this just made me realize that DASH is one of those coins that I felt was too late to get into when it was well above $1000, it had been on my radar for a while after originally feeling that the scandals surrounding it much earlier on was too much to look past - plus their masternode vulnerability. Have to admit I completely lost touch with it and should have bought in weeks ago but today the price is still tempting to look at considering how I felt above 1k.

Changed my mind about it a lot, can't be a bad coin to add to sit next to my Monero...
10159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: May 05, 2018, 05:01:58 PM
All premier league games gone wrong in the sense that no favourite has won so far. I doubt Everton will win either as Southampton needs a win in order to hope to avoid relegation. I wonder why the f WBA keeps winning against top teams when they are almost mathematically relegated and ruining bets of many people.
I know. They think they are Stoke City or something? Cheesy
Everton is not putting in Rooney this game so they are at a disadvantage more than ever against SouthHampton. Embarrassed
Lol Spurs.  Cheesy

West Bromwich Albion once again shocked the Premier League. Beat Manchester United at Old Trafford, draw against Liverpool and now beat Tottenham Hotspurs. West Bromwich Albion is hot late, they suffer all season but can overthrow big clubs who are fighting for the big 4.

West Bromwich is a top table killer. Don't count the Baggies out. Grin
They beat Liverpool in the FA Cup 4th round at the beginning of the year.

So does anybody think Burnley will ruin Wenger's last home game tomorrow?
It will be a complete shame if they don't win it for the old man infront of the Arsenal fans. Embarrassed

I wonder if this was a pattern before by relegation teams? If it is, I must remember to bet on bottom 3 towards end of season. I guess everyone must be feeling, oh well nothing to play for, let's just try something different. Only City don't seem to be doing anything different. But teams must realise for consistency they must always play the same way no matter what. In terms of effort anyway, that form is the hardest thing to carry forward into the new season.

West Brom fans must be feeling so weird now though.
10160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Possibly most significant and profitable ICO ever on: May 05, 2018, 12:38:31 PM
We started our new, unique ICO on May 1st, 2018.

It will become the most significant and meaningful ICO ever, because our cryptocurrency, EASY LIFE COIN, trade code ESY offers all users an
"UNCONDITIONAL BASIC INCOME"
and "100% PURCHASE PRICE REFUNDING"
wherever, whenever, whatever they buy and and how high the price may be.

Participate in our 2 weeks pre-sale with a 50% bonus.
Its your chance 2 change now.
Registered users at our ICO OFFERING SITE: https://ico.easylifecommunity.com may - after registration and login - buy ESY directly from our site.

New, yes. Unique, absolutely not.

There have been hundreds of ICO projects that have claimed to do the exact same thing (unconditional basic income) (purchase price refunding) but they have all been marked by a few common traits. Outright scams, or eventual bankruptcy. There is no such thing as guaranteed profits. There is no such thing as life-changing guarantees. This reads more like an MLM and ponzi than anything else. What's your product? A promise. That can't be kept.
