10181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED] Staisybit - Universal Online Staking Wallet on: September 29, 2016, 06:25:51 PM
Well - I have 5,008 XMG on StaisyBit. For a while the site showed
the wallet was "Forked". Now the wallet shows "Active" but, it
is not processing withdrawals?? I originally deposited 4,999.9
and it grew to a whopping 5008.16 over 11 months or, 0.15%

The system will not process a withdrawal of any amount. After entering
the withdrawal address and amount, everything shows "green" but,
when I hit the confirm button, nothing happens. No errors, no w/d.

Exactly. I think that is the only issue (besides better support) that StaisyBit has. Withdrawals cannot be made yet, but in the bright side this could change if the dev team would become more active as this project looks more like abandoned to me. Let's wait a little more and see if metamorphin comes up. Until then, I would stop depositing coins into the platform unless this is solved.  Sad
10182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coin will rise after Monero? on: September 28, 2016, 08:05:14 PM
In order to some other anonymous currency to succeed it needs a community that is willing to hoard and hodl it. Monero has such community but the big question is, does Zcash has it? If not, it will fail for sure. No matter how good are the tech credentials.

Exactly. That is one good point you got there mate. I think that most anon coins are just full of hype, with Monero being one of the few that is truly rising and providing good results. I remember that XMR was at $0.60 back in the day I started looking into it. Now it is ten times the price, from what I've invested initially. Hopefully, it could become used more each and everyday on popular dark net marketplaces. Just my opinion.  Grin
10183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED] Staisybit - Universal Online Staking Wallet on: September 28, 2016, 07:53:25 PM
I really like the look of your site and the moving background. Makes it feel really nice to use. I hope you will be bringing a whole bunch of new coins to your wallets. It is a really nice thing for poswallet to have some decent competition and I welcome it.

POSWallet makes a great competitor against StaisyBit. If StaisyBit cannot manage to have better support and become an active project, then POSWallet might take the lead. It has been several months since I have been waiting for my DMD withdrawal, but I guess that the hopes of getting my DMD back is far from becoming a reality. This thread has been kept silent with no updates whatsoever on the platform, as well as the inability to help solve our issues.  Sad
10184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] ♠ CasinoCoin v3.0 ♥ 3 Yrs Old ♦ NEW Mandatory Update ♣ on: September 28, 2016, 07:40:13 PM
How is everyone ?
I'm Super busy still with this new Job and can hardly find time to get onto the computer outside of work but,
Next week should slow down and ill be putting the finishing touches on the new CSCGaming platform and doing some much needed updates to the casinocoin.org website.
If anyone has requests please speak now or create an issue on github https://github.com/casinocoin/Casinocoin-website-v3. I will be adding functionality so other trusted users can edit the websites content without having to go into the filesystem.

Thanks for the update. I hope for the best of CSC to become a very popular cryptocurrency used in casinos and gambling sites worldwide. Price movement has been slow, but still I am faithful in the dev team and the CSC community hoping that my investments into this altcoin would've not been in vain. The way I see it, I think that it is best to buy and accumulate CSC as much as we can.  Grin
10185  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: September 28, 2016, 06:51:39 PM
I should say I had been lucky as I had always been an early bird in case of investing bitcoins. I know that people don't believe in ponzis, but I do.
I always look for new sites that come up as they will always pay in the start, so I always invest early and reap the profits.

It has been very profitable to invest early into HYIPs as they turn up to pay early investors when they are starting with these investment schemes. It is always good to take this opportunity to make profit, but be aware that you may lose your BTC if happen to keep investing into the same HYIP. I try to invest once in an HYIP on its early days with the minimum amount possible of BTC and then withdraw my profits.

Another thing that I have been considering is lending my BTC, but I'm not quite sure which service is really trustworthy since you risk yourself lending your hard earned Bitcoin to another person which may run with all your money.  Grin

10187  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My portable Raspberry Pi setup for mining on: September 28, 2016, 05:45:50 PM
It'd be interesting ty try to mine burst with that definitely.
It isn't good to mine burst on an SD/micro sd card. It is probably also good to use NAS specific hard drives as this task is quite intensive on them.
A bigger battery does mean more power! However, i this currently profitable or are you just charging the battery from your home and paying for the power?

Well, it is not very profitable at all since you would pay more for an HDD and take quite some time to reach ROI. There is a BURST calculator around which tells you how much BURST you would earn with your current space, but since I have only a 128GB external SSD then I will use it to mine BURST only for fun.

Currently, I do not pay for power usage at my home since I live with my parents and they're the ones who pay it but once I plan to have my own place for this, then I should consider all ways possible in order to save electricity.

NAS is a pretty good idea to earn lots of BURST.  Roll Eyes

Unfortunately, MMC is only worth about 6% of the value it was trading at when it was on Poloniex and that is when trading against LTC on Novaexchange. Additionally, the LTC/MMC pair on Novaexchange has a very low market depth. Hopefully folks will get the word out and start trading it more on Novaexchange, but for the time being, it is not very profitable. You have to remember that about 2.92 MMC are generated every 6 minutes and that does not generate a lot of revenue unless you are a significant portion of the hashrate.

Thanks for the info. In that case, I will buy some MMC and hold onto them until the market increases in trading volume and activity. I will leave MMC mining only for fun and not profit, as I will help support the MMC network by doing so. I'll see if I could set up some MMC full nodes on Raspberry Pis.  Cheesy
10189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: September 28, 2016, 04:52:02 PM
This could cause changes in prime seeking algorithm

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/new-take-on-an-ancient-method-improves-way-to-find-prime-numbers/

XPM mining just got a shot  Smiley

This could definitely improve XPM PoW algorithm and make it more efficient. The only thing needed is the dedication of the dev to make this happen. If it does, then XPM could become very popular in my opinion.

Price has remained stable over the last few days (around $0.07 USD) so it makes it a great investment at the moment. If this goes to the moon then I would have made profit.  Grin
10190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Krypton, KR - BaaS Corp & Open Source, Public Blockchain for Business/IoT on: September 26, 2016, 06:32:24 PM

More and more KR PoS Linux nodes are coming online!

See the list here: http://tekywallets.xyz/krypton/

If you are running Linux and would like to help the new KR network grow, prior to the swap, please see this document for instructions:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/15NhIZLsH_oijOTg-AKqGpnmENB0SSr3j50XXRwtHjgI/edit?usp=sharing

~~~
Bittrex is doing a code review of the new proof-of-stake KR blockchain. This may take several days to complete.
When Bittrex is done, I will post complete directions for the swap and also post links to the new wallets.
Thanks for your patience.
KR will be trading again soon!
Great! I think that there is a lot of interest into KR, besides what happened with the 51% attack recently, especially now that the coin will transition towards PoS. Finally, we will get to secure our KR into PoS while the original PoW issue gets fixed. I'll be patiently waiting for the swap process to begin. Can't wait to start staking those KR!  Cheesy
Great! I'm glad that MemoryCoin is back on track! Can't wait to get started mining some coins on my laptop. I wonder how many I will get with my Intel Core i5 CPU? Anyways, this is definitely good news and it's great to see that the community still has interest into making this coin survive for the long term.
By the way, if there is any MMC mining calculator around, I would greatly appreciate if you or someone else could share it with me.  Grin
Prime coin is 10 times faster then Bitcoin and is,doing useful work searching prime numbers I believe the future should be bright for,prime coin the original devolpers doesn't seem to be doing much work on website or mobile wallet but since it's open source I think we need to find some one to,do,those,things as well as promote prime coin I,think at these levels there is tremendous value in prime coin
Exactly. Primecoin has so many good things that I could become a very popular coin if it has enough promotion. It has been one of my favorite altcoins ever since I've started with BTC and if I had enough time, I will do anything I can in order to support it and help it gain traction. For the meantime, I will just be buying XPM and holding them for the long term.  Smiley
10193  Economy / Economics / Re: What impact could the blockchain have in our economy once it becomes mainstream? on: September 26, 2016, 05:42:54 PM
All people need to subscribe for an internet, Telcom Industry will boom this way, since everyone needs an internet to make a transaction with bitcoin or connect to its network.  Just for example in my country, there are few places where interenet is free and the worst of it is that your connection will drop after 30 to an hour depends on the host.  And internet provider in my country charges too high. So in a scenario where blockchain become mainstream, the TelCom company will profit the most.
Yeah. That would be the main focus as the internet will become more a necessity towards communication, entertainment, and now transacting over it. Basically, the internet would be used practically for anything and it will grow even more once it transitions to the blockchain ecosystem. Just wait and see when Maidsafe gets the official stable release and we'll be one step closer towards decentralizing the internet and making it even more useful for people around the world.
The blockchain will change everything in our daily lives from transacting, to smart contracts, to decentralized internet, and more. I think that these 7 years since Bitcoin and blockchain's inception are just the beginning. Give it a few more years and it will boom! Just my opinion.  Roll Eyes
10194  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: My portable Raspberry Pi setup for mining on: September 26, 2016, 05:33:45 PM
How long does it run on the battery.
Second I think you should mine Burstcoin instead of bitcoin. The miner is built into the app now.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=burstcoin.com.burst
Yeah. I own some BURST and have been mining it with my laptop's HDD. However, I wouldn't risk myself doing it with the Raspberry Pi's microsd card as it will shorten its lifespan (and also they are not designed for constant read/write like HDD) I'm looking into setting up an external HDD connected to the Pi for this task.
The Pi runs almost all day with the 10,000mah battery so I can leave it for a couple of hours and mine some coins. But, I think that this depends on the processing power being used at the Pi, which will cause even greater power consumption. Imagine running the Pi with a 20,000mah battery. It will last even longer!  Cheesy
10195  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: September 26, 2016, 05:17:28 PM
That is the simplest way to make money, just believe that the future of bitcoin is progressive and do not easily listen to negative news that would make you sell your bitcoins during panic selling, instead you will buy more to earn more.
Usually, I see that negative news are the best opportunity to buy more Bitcoin as the price will decline during those days. This is caused due to many people that panic sell. I have benefited from this, when Mike Hearn announced that he would be leaving Bitcoin making its price decline and in effect a great opportunity to profit as prices has increased.  Smiley
10196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi reveals himself, what would be of Bitcoin? on: September 26, 2016, 04:52:24 PM
There are different reasons why Satoshi Nakamoto must remain anonymous, ideals that were present at the creation of bitcoin allow cryptocurrency meet its objectives without having to Nakamoto as an authority figure http://criptonoticias.com/colecciones/5-razones-por-las-que-no-deberiamos-saber-quien-es-satoshi-nakamoto/
Thanks for your reply mate. I have found this article very interesting. Satoshi may never be found (as probably he/she is dead) but at least he created a revolutionary technology which is changing the world. Now I have seen that many organizations and/or individuals have been trying to patent blockchain technology (like Craig Wright). I wonder if they could have success in this.  Roll Eyes
10197  Economy / Economics / Re: What impact could the blockchain have in our economy once it becomes mainstream? on: September 26, 2016, 04:41:32 PM
it will encourage newbie to buy more bitcoin, because if bank will strat to use blockchain, more peple will know about it, and see it as  trusted thing, so they will also be interested in crypto world, especially bitcoin, it will be a good propaganda for bitcoin
Yeah. I think that once the blockchain becomes mainstream it will help a lot in Bitcoin and also increase its awareness all round the world making more people to know about cryptocurrencies and blockchain, of course.
There have been several banks that have joined the R3 CEV group. It is another step towards blockchain adoption. Now I only wonder, how could I invest into R3 CEV? If they only had an asset on the blockchain, then I would invest my BTC into it for sure.  Cheesy
10198  Economy / Economics / What impact could the blockchain have in our economy once it becomes mainstream? on: September 26, 2016, 01:56:02 PM
Bitcoin has changed the ways business, banks, and even governments think by slowly adopting it each day. It has been the most exciting technology besides the internet.
In addition to this, a lot of interest has grown into Blockchain technology over the past few years leaving corporate giants such as Microsoft to make partnership with Ethereum in order to deploy smart contracts.
Now, once Bitcoin and blockchain becomes mainstream what impact do you think it will have in our economy? Will it help solve global financial crisis? Or will it even make our lives better as governments all around the world use this technology?
I would like to know your opinion about this.  Smiley
10199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi reveals himself, what would be of Bitcoin? on: September 26, 2016, 12:45:09 AM
you ask this question as if it is something that is planned to happen!
but i think it will be some temporary chaos and depending on how things shape out to be like it can be small chaos or a big one but eventually bitcoin will continue being the same thing as ever.
remember that bitcoin is decentralized and even if satoshi is revealed he can not be the center of bitcoin because that would make it centralized.
and as for jail, why would this happen!!! there is nothing illegal with what he has created. he should be awarded a prize for the revolution he created.
Well, I was thinking that goverments might jail Satoshi in the case that he would not be able to pay all those taxes (depending on the country of residence) as it is a hefty sum of money. Also, making a technology that goes against banks and the monetary system of governments might also be a case of him going to jail.
And for sure, even if Satoshi would reveal himself to the public he would have no control over Bitcoin as it is decentralized. At first, in a moment I've thought that Craig Wright was the real Nakamoto, but then I figured out that he was a joker as he couldn't prove that he owns the first Bitcoin block (and/or Genesis Block) with his keys to the public. The day that we see that coins from Satoshi gets "moved" to another address and it will be the day that Satoshi has returned.  Grin
10200  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much do you earn with mining? on: September 26, 2016, 12:35:51 AM
Solar isn't the best choice, so I hope that you've already looked into it enough that you understand the initial investment needed and the risk factor; the panels are pretty easily damaged in adverse weather conditions, no matter how it's advertised. Coin staking is a pretty nice passive income, but most of the stakeable coins aren't traded much, with the exception of PPC.
If you're looking at solar for fun, go ahead- I run a few gridseed miners off of a battery in my garage, and it runs just fine. It's definitely interesting to see solar panels get more and more efficient; maybe someday actual mining with them will be possible.
Well solar is a bit expensive in the terms of purchasing the panels and the installation of them at your place. But, in the bright side it may save even more energy than using conventional power sources. Still, I do not have the kind of money yet to set up solar panels so my options would be limited right now towards using external batteries to power the miners.
As for PoS, I think that ETH would be great to stake once it hits this stage, since nowadays it is the second most actively traded cryptocurrency on the markets.  Roll Eyes
