1021  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is improving I guess? on: June 27, 2023, 11:17:34 AM
There is no doubt that bitcoin will improve this year, the negative issue that worries me, namely Binance is experiencing a crisis, turns out to be unproven so the market responds positively, now is the time to keep buying so we can get big profits.
Don't be hasty in drawing conclusions, the price of Bitcoin jumped very sharply in a short time and even so there is still a possibility for a correction to occur again.
Throughout this year I see the price of Bitcoin moving not too significantly and more positive trends than price corrections that have occurred, I also believe that the price of Bitcoin will improve but that will be accompanied by price corrections which will also be proportional to the increase that has occurred.

With what happened in the first six months of the year, it can be affirmed that the market this year is much better than last year. The correction is sure to happen many more times but it won't be a big deal as long as it doesn't drop to $15k like in 2022, it's a very commendable effort for bitcoin.

Most likely we have seen the bottom already for this bear cycle as the price goes down hard to $15,500.

We are still in a 4-year cycle, so don't expect too much from bitcoin. If bitcoin can sustain above $30k and hit $40k before the end of the year, it will be a success to prepare for the next bull season when the halving will take place next year.

Yes, but it seems that this cycle is very different though as compare to previous one. June seems to be a bad month every bear cycle and it did started this way and I thought that the cycle will continue.

Nevertheless it was a big relieved when the market goes green and attempted successfully to reach $31k again.

But we need more push or at least maintain the $30k'ish and see more growth at the end of the year and no more bottom price for us.
1022  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Optimizing health and holding Bitcoin for everyone. Some helpful tips on: June 27, 2023, 08:06:20 AM
I don't know if this could be true for the majority of us, of course holding and buying bitcoin is not that complicated, the thing is that you need to have mental toughness to be a long term holder.

But with the way the OP put it, I disagree with the majority of the statements. It seems that becoming a bitcoin investor is a burden for some that you are somewhat embroidered with it for the rest of your life, It's not. Otherwise if you think that way then your health is going to suffer, it is not complex as it sounds in my opinion.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 27, 2023, 01:48:22 AM

Now, fighting with another young aspiring fighter, let see if how Donaire will try his best to reclaim the title
after Inoue vacated the belt.

Yes, he is the favorite in this fight based on experience and the tools and we have seen Donaire somewhat dominating this division. But Inoue is the king of 118 lbs obviously and Nonito is the second best. But since Inoue has move up, then perhaps Nonito can get back and claim his belt back.

We will see if he can still show the fans why he once dominated this division before Inoue take the belt from him.

Surely it will be an anticipated fight from his loyal fans and with the expectations of winning this upcoming fight, we will
see if Donaire can still bring that same performance and bring the same outcome against a much younger and an aspiring
fighter who is also dreaming to reach his time on being a champ.

No matter what angle I try to see it, I always see some chances that this Alejandro Santiago will win the fight because apart from he's much younger, he is also more agile and that makes him in-par with the current Donaire and if he is durable enough to eat Donaire's punches then I guess that will be a good gauge that he can definitely bring the fight in his favor.

Of course, I'm with Donaire on this fight because aside from we came from the same country, I'm also his fan since I took interest in watching boxing fights. But I just cannot deny that after seeing the Lopez vs Taylor fight, it gives me a different perspective about the reality of this match.

It's possible that there could be upsets, we can't discount that thing specially if Santiago shows great resiliency and in the best version of himself. And then we are going to see how Donaire is, maybe he is in shape but perhaps due to age he might be a different fighter now.

Donaire needs to be active and doesn't want to go on long lay-offs, but he could be training even before the actual released of the official fight. So we will see if there will be another upset in the making or Donaire having a belt again.

But one new request to you guys, In this script, only the above name and avatar can be hidden, but when entering the profile summary, it shows the user name, so another request to you guys is to create a script that hides the name in the profile summary as well.

Could I know more why you need to hide your username at the profile summary, please.

You only see it when you log in your account and what is the point to hide a username of your account when you are using it?

I guess it makes sense if you hide your username from other forum members, not from yourself. Such scripts are only for personal experience and other forum members mostly use the forum default, no user script so no effect on their experience as well as search engines.

Security, maybe some of us are accessing the community in public places (not using public wifi), so you don't want any prying eyes see who your are if you see that you are in the bitcointalk forum.

I saw this in my twitter feed, unfortunately, it might have been deleted already.

Nevertheless, since there is a big buzz about institutional money coming in in the last couple of days, this scammers created this kind of websites to attract and victimized unsuspecting crypto investors who think that they can double their bitcoins based on the comments by some so called "users".

So just be careful if you see this one.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do gambling addicts bother about the consequences of their actions? on: June 25, 2023, 12:15:20 AM
Most of the gambling addicts were middle class people. This isn't known to the outer world, just because we belong to the same category we will be able to predict the reality happening around. Rich won't get addicted to gambling easily, because rich never think of the winning. When one thinks about win and making money, automatically it leads to gambling addiction. With the middle class category they somehow control within them, at very rare instances we'll be able to see those people disturbing the people around them.

Could be true, but I think rich people can also be addicted too, maybe they have the self control, but we all know that once you involved yourself in gambling, it's very hard to get out of it specially if you have a lot of money to burn in the middle.

We might as well add the category of lower class as they are more prone to being addicted. The simply reason that they wanted to get out of their status in life and so they will go out and bet their money just for the sake of winning big in a casino. Seen those kind of people in traditional based, and for sure they know the consequences and yet they go and take that risk to fell into the category of being gambling addicts.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Joshua Franco vs Kazuto Ioka WBA World Superfly (June 24) on: June 24, 2023, 04:45:38 PM

Thanks,.

Congratulations to Kazuto Ioka! I don't understand what they are saying, but judging by how the fight unfolded, I believe Kazuto Ioka won via unanimous decision.

Yes, Kazuto won via a unanimous decision over Franco 116-112 twice, 115-113, Franco is very slow and obviously, Ioka is dominating the fight, the additional weight for Franco did not work for Franco's advantage, I guess this settle the fight, Joshua can move up as he cannot keep up making the super flyweight anymore.

Congratulation to Ioka and those who bet on him.

Man! I don't know if I lost this fight or not because I surely thought that this fight will happen tomorrow and not tonight, I could've rode the wave and bet in-favor of Kazuto Ioka as I know he will have the fight in his favor despite the draw on their first encounter.

Anyway, congratulations to all the bettors who bet in-favor of Kazuto Ioka.

I wasn't able to ride on Ioka for a decision win, nevertheless congrats to those who won because it was a very attractive odd.

No excuses for Franco losing this one, maybe he can attribute it to his extra weight. But we should give credit to the Japanese here. He really wanted to get this win and so he pushes for the fight despite the issues with the weight.

And now he will have to face either another Japanese in Nakatani or the winner of the Martinez vs Jade Bornea for the IBF belt and unification.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MEME coins: thoughts on the future of PEPE? DOGE and SHIB? Which will be No.1? on: June 24, 2023, 04:27:45 PM
MEME coins: thoughts on the future of PEPE? DOGE and SHIB? Which will be No.1?

Do we really need to know who will be the future number 1 as far as this meme coins though? DOGE has proven itself in the last bull run and some big shot (ehem, ehem, Elon Musk) has influence the price that it went so high and everyone thought that it will go parabolic and remain like that.

So that is the moral lessons here, even if PEPE or SHIB takes over and become number 1, it doesn't matter, yes maybe there will be investors who are going to make money, but the question is that it doesn't have used case so the hype won't last and most likely most individuals might lose big money in the end because they got late on the bandwagon or simply everyone is dumping.
1029  Economy / Speculation / Re: 30k Bitch!!! on: June 24, 2023, 01:24:15 AM
The dollar has really lost value by about 12% against my local currency, which means it's lost a great deal, but that's better for Bitcoin. I just woke up this morning to see Bitcoin trading above $30k1, it was unexpected to me and a good move. I hope it sees more movement as it has been able to hold strong above $30k since morning.
The current Bitcoin price movement is unexpected to many people and at this point,  the best possible asset to hold right now is Bitcoin because its price could move either up or down in high percentages within a short time so to be in a better position,  one need to constantly hold enough bitcoin so as not to miss out when this kind of price actions happens and also develop a good knowledge to hold while the price also moves in the negative direction.

I wouldn't say it's unexpected, we have been trading sideways for 2 months now, and it's just about time that we need to see a break out run. And that's what happen this week as the price goes up to $31k and I think there are still more push that is going to happen at the end of the month.

So the bottom line is that Bitcoin is best held for a long-term base if you want to get the hmbesf shot from Bitcoin.

Yeah, and instead of waiting and anticipating that the price will go down to $10k-$15k this bear market, it might be better to just buy portions by portions thru DCA and you will be good for the long term.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 24, 2023, 12:43:09 AM
Not sure if we have discussed Jerwin Ancajas comeback fight this weekend as he will move up to 118 lbs and will fight a tune up fight against Wilner Soto in his new division.

Ancajas has been a great champion at 115 lbs defending his belt 9 times until he met  Fernando “Pumita” Martinez in which he lost 2x. So it's obvious that his body can't take 115 lbs and so they decided to go up now at bantamweight division.

https://www.ringtv.com/654814-title-shot-awaits-jerwin-ancajas-if-he-gets-past-wilner-soto/

Soto is 13:1 underdog here.

I am more interested in the main event where Fernando Martinez will once again defend his belt against another Ph contender Jade Bornea. The champion though remains the favorite.

Oh, that will be good, but I haven't heard anything on Jade Bornea, perhaps another upcoming Filipino fighting, but Fernando Martinez is on a different level right now. Might be hard press for him to win against the champion as he dethroned Ancajas 2x already.

Hopefully, Ancajas can show some signs that he is still an elite fighter. The division is starting once again after Inoue's ascension to 122. Ancajas was a long-time champion but I felt like he could've done more by unifying his belt or facing the other top fighters of the division. He was a champion and the division was rich with stars like Roman Gonzales and Juan Estrada.

Just about time for him to go up in weight class, it's very difficult to maintain at 115 lbs and defend the belt. He has done it 9 times already, and I guess that's already a good accomplishment in his resume. Not sure what MP Promotions didn't call out Roman Gonzales and Juan Estrada though. It could have been great if Anjacas has the chance back then to unify the belts.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 02:04:55 AM
Anyone else also watching the draft right now?  No shock seeing Victor Wembanyama going number one overall, of course..but it should be pretty exciting to see how these next few picks play out.  There's some great players in this draft outside of Victor!

I am wondering if my Chicago Bulls are going to try and pull anything off tonight.  There's been some talk of them trading Zach Lavine tonight for a high pick.  They seem to be in no mans land right now, so I think I'm okay with that to be honest.

Wemby is the only prospect I’ve heard of. I think after the covid nonsense I sort of lost track of the new young guys coming up. I will say that I’m not one of the guys who thinks Wemby will make an impact in the league. I think he’ll be like all the other unicorns before him and fail to injuries before he gets a body that can bang with NBA players in the paint.

Yeah, seems to be Wemby is the only name that we have heard in this year's draft, the hype is big for this kid, like every NBA players are watching him. It's too early to say if he will have a big impact or not.

Maybe we can compare him to Zion? big hype, he enter the league have impact but he got injured, and now he is injury prone and there are rumors that he could be traded too.
1032  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 23, 2023, 01:09:30 AM
Yes, I have seen many people fear about the price fall. They always panic and complains about the price drop of the coins. They don’t see the opportunity here. Price drop is literally like a boon for the investors. In this price drops, the price becomes low and hence we get the opportunity to buy these high priced coins in literally cheap price. We know these coins are limited in number, hence without complaining just accumulate as many coins as you can in this cheap price and hold for some time to see great profits.
True. Some have even resort into making wrong decisions by selling their coins at a loss. Without knowing that instead of panicking and complaining, it’s a great opportunity to accumulate more of the coins since they are sale at a bargain price. And mostly those who behave like this are those who enter the market just for greed, not realizing that it could lead them into losses than attracting profits instead.
A greedy person will likely end up failing and usually commit mistakes. This kind of people never see the opportunity of buying when the market falls but what they see is the negative part and make them sell as they are in a panic already. While real investors are busy accumulating more potential coins, these people are already in a hurry to upload their coins.
Well, have been said that not all who come and invest in crypto know what is the best thing to do, many had quit because of that, and do not wonder why many had lose their money as well.

It can also be said for people who don't buy or doesn't want to when the price is going down, and yet they are likely to buy and FOMO when the price is on a rally, like in a bull run.

So that is another mistakes that I experience before and so I learn from that. There are a lot of opportunities to buy and that is the golden role, but during the dip. You don't need to FOMO, otherwise you might end buying at the top and could be dumping it the soonest, when you start to see the price declining again.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermall Charlo Super Middleweight (September 16) on: June 23, 2023, 12:53:21 AM
This is a good fight for Canelo as he seeks to face well-known boxers. Jermall Charlo, being a popular middleweight boxer, makes for an exciting opponent. While Canelo may not be considering moving up in weight, he consistently provides entertaining fights by not choosing lesser-known boxers.

Jermall Charlo currently maintains an undefeated record with 22 knockout wins in 32 fights, showcasing a strong track record. I believe he will present a tough challenge for Canelo.

@bisdak40, if there's a poll it would be better.

He is still a lesser known opponents in my opinion, so I disagree with you. You can go to social media and there are fans not approving this fight. I do hope that you understand that Charlo is a 168 lbs fighter? and he has been inactive for the last 2 years because of personal reasons?

Records could be deceiving as well yeah 22 knockouts, but he is going to add up additional 8 lbs just to make the weight. And as he is inactive, he might have gain more already and needed to lose that pounds again. So it will be a big issue for Charlo here.
1034  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: New Mystic Stealer targets 40 web browsers and crypto wallets on: June 22, 2023, 11:23:51 PM
Mode of infection is always the same, crack softwares, torrents and warez, unsolicited emails.

So again, just a reminder to everyone just to be careful of anything you download in the web as it may contains a malware and might be too late once our crypto wallets have been drained.

Could you explain more about security risk from Torrents and Warez?

It's obvious that this are cracks software from Warez and most likely it might continue some form of malware.

Same for Torrents, you might not be aware but this criminals can attach malware too to the movies or anything that you downloaded.

So the moral of the story is that you shouldn't download from unknown sites, simply as that.
1035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everything is on FIRE today! on: June 22, 2023, 02:52:21 AM
Yesterday's and today's market movement, which I believe is not just a result of the ETF news but a collaboration of both the good news of ETFs and that of EDX, is what's bringing this instant market pump. A lot of people want to bag more and hold before the initial launch of the EDX exchange, which they believe will have a positive impact on the market since it's being backed up by strong firms that are supposedly worth billions of dollars.

I believe in a short time this market will rapidly correct itself, or it may be good to take this opportunity to fill in the gap and dump created by the SEC drama.

After all the negative news SEC has brewed in the last couple of days, this news right here has pretty much soaked everything in and we might just forget about them for now.
What a rebound for bitcoin, when all hope was lost and an eminent bloodbath for crypto...markets just rebounded back into life and am hoping we can get into the $35k to $40k range just to send a message to these guys trying to bring crypto down.
I will admit that I am quite surprised by the sudden movement that we are seeing right now, I thought that the market will be dominated by a negative trend for some months before we got to see bitcoin back at the 30k level, and instead what we are seeing is that bitcoin is returning to that level without too much of a problem, still I am not so sure for how long these positive market conditions can remain as it would not surprise me if another round of FUD made it to the markets to slow down the growth of bitcoin once again.

Yeah, June seems to be very bad for us historically, but this is very different. When we thought that it might go down or at least sideways at $26k-$28k, suddenly in the last couple of days, the market seems to be on fire and on FOMO.

And yes, we could really smell FOMO here, those who don't want to buy when the price is $26k, is now buying at $30k because they think that the market will continue to go up. Lol, that is the very basic definition of FOMO and I wouldn't be surprised is that is what happening in the market right now that's why the price suddenly went up to $30k in 48 hours.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy ETH as much as you can.... on: June 22, 2023, 01:51:17 AM
I see ETH to become next blessing in disguise, I remember when it was around $100 people condemned it not to go anywhere within the space of a month interval ETH shuck the price in 500% increase and today is about $1800 let's watch and see ETH will create unbreakable records, channel some useless coins you have to ETH and relax in future.

For me ETH Good Investment. Ethereum may continue to present investment opportunities. While I can't give financial advice, it's worth noting that Ethereum (ETH) has experienced significant growth and has shown potential as a leading digital currency. Like you say  Its journey from being valued at $100 to reaching $1800 demonstrates the substantial returns investors are getting.

It went to $1,900 just now because the market seems to be on the sort of mini bull run in the last 2 days or so. So yeah, Ethereum is a good investment for long term. I remember when it upgraded to PoS and we say that it will go to $2k.

So now is the chance to see that price again if this bull run will continue. But the real bull run will occur next year so it's better to continue to accumulate and stack Ethereum while we are still in this price as it might go to 10x, in my opinion.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 22, 2023, 01:02:19 AM

Well, Casimero and Inoue would be a great fight, this is one of the things that excites me the most, because there is already a previous challenge here, if things are like that then they should happen, personally , I think that things in boxing are very simple , there must be rematches without the need for this looking for clauses, because the boxers themselves must always be in action and without so much begging, now I give a good positive sense to Spence who finally Accepted the fight with Crawford , and this is something that he is in favor of the sport and in favor of what things should really move in boxing , with the sense of Healthy rivalry and not Being with so much.

Since his quest to take the chance to fight Inoue, he hasn't lost and he fought very well in his last fight motivated to get the chance again in the future but it seems like the decision will be made after Inoue will successfully defeat his opponent in this upcoming fight and hope that it will be Casimero next because both fighters really need to prove their claim and to do that, the answer is just one fight and it won't really matter which place as long as they gonna make it happen right now before it's too late when one of them cannot fight anymore.

Sooner or later, as long as Inoue will not leave the weight class, I think fate will make Casimero and Inoue meet inside one same ring for a fight that has been waited by many and I'm sure that a lot of people will be thrilled if that will happen. If fate works well, I think Casimero will have his chance during one of the few title defense fight of Inoue, considering that he's already the new 2-belt champion in replacement of Stephen Fulton.

Yes, but still it's up to Casimero here, he has to do a better job at 122 lbs and not have issues or something like in the previous weight class. Inoue is fighting for the belt, while Casimero just had a so-so performance in his last 2 fights, or at least his opponent is not that recognizable. So there's a lot of work needed from his promoter so that they get a decent boxer for him to face next. They can't afford to pick a fighter not in the top 5 at least of any governing body as it will just look like Casimero is taking it easy in the super bantamweight and the chances of facing Inoue is going to be slim if that is the road that his handlers are going to take. Fight Luis Nery next and that will be a great match.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is next for Bitcoin? Seems like the only winners are early adopters unless on: June 22, 2023, 12:42:55 AM
You have millions to buy ? I so missed out on this when it was $110 a coin but I was young and no money. So now that blackrock made some noise in the Bitcoin space and got everyone rallied up will this be the biggest money grab in history to then crash it on the recession?

Well you have to look long term, and that is the secret of early adopters. So I don't think there is a missed opportunities here, just buy as much as you can and then simply be a bitcoin holder. The longer you hold the better it might be for us, just like what the early adopters did.

How can i understand Bitcoin more ? I mean it has no use for it yet, it is not producing profits for companies ?

Then experiment it yourself, try to buy items and pay bitcoin, simply as that.

I want to invest good capital but dont understand why I would do this on something made out of thin air. Sometimes seems like its a lot of fanboys just wanting it to go up and up so they can then sell to retail

Don't get me wrong, but I think the problem is your mindset.
1039  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitcoin market is back on track on: June 21, 2023, 11:02:24 AM
It’ll be good to break $30000 again & then hopefully, never fall below it again. Things are happening behind the scenes, bullish things. I feel like the next multi year run up is about to start. Blackrock & Fidelity hopefully opening up the doors to a big inflow of new money.

Let’s Go!

Yeah, like the idea of the market breaking into the $30k barrier again. And if I'm not mistaken, we've seen $31k++ as the highest so far for this year. So just imagine this early if we can break $30k, and we have like 5-6 months at the end of the year and this bullish fever continues, then who knows, $50k as others predicted at 2023 and then we will wait for the block halving.

So for sure everyone is very happy to see a huge run in the last 24 hours pushing the price to almost $29k now. And this renewal from investors is because not only BlackRock and Fidelity but there are others as well filing for a spot Bitcoin ETF.
1040  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Can we ever have this again in 2023? on: June 20, 2023, 12:05:16 PM
Can we ever have these again in 2023?

Going to back to the first days of bitcoin it was easy and cheap to get 5 bitcoins for free by just solving a simple task.
This bitcoin core developer, chief scientist on the forum, Gavin Andresen in June 11, 2010, created this web site https://freebitcoins.appspot.com/  that gives away Bitcoins. There were about ฿1,100  He wanted bitcoin to succeed. He wanted to see more people adopt bitcoin. How proud he would be right now knowing that bitcoin is succeeding and progressing. 5 bitcoins today at the price of $26797 per bitcoin is worth - $133,985

The website doesn't work anymore. The it will forever be remembered.
Here is the OP where he announced it on the forum - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=183.msg1488#msg1488

Do we still have legit websites like this today that gives out free bitcoins?

There could still be some, but it's not worth your time anymore as the pay is just a few satoshi and I think you will need to reach certain amount before you can withdraw them.

So it might be tiring on your end that most of the time you will have to give up.

And that is the early years of bitcoin though, as we don't know what is going to happen so early bitcoin adopters are really lucky.
