You don't have the understand the front offices.

What do they want with CP3 in San Francisco? Veteran leadership? Half the team has this already.

2 days ago they said they are not looking to trade Poole and will plan with him for "at least" the next 4 years. Amazing how this mindset changes within 48 hours.

Can't get less value for him. Also Paul gets around 30  million next season, why would they want to pay him that??

Terrible trade for GSW in my opinion. Did Bob Myers do this 1 week before stepping down? I can't imagine.

Anyone else also watching the draft right now?  No shock seeing Victor Wembanyama going number one overall, of course..but it should be pretty exciting to see how these next few picks play out.  There's some great players in this draft outside of Victor!

I am wondering if my Chicago Bulls are going to try and pull anything off tonight.  There's been some talk of them trading Zach Lavine tonight for a high pick.  They seem to be in no mans land right now, so I think I'm okay with that to be honest.

Wemby is the only prospect I’ve heard of. I think after the covid nonsense I sort of lost track of the new young guys coming up. I will say that I’m not one of the guys who thinks Wemby will make an impact in the league. I think he’ll be like all the other unicorns before him and fail to injuries before he gets a body that can bang with NBA players in the paint.

Oooh, I am excited.
Actually, I already placed my bet for whom will be number 1, 2, and 3.

Sorry it was positioned wrong, the first pick is on the last.  Cheesy

Nice pick, all have gone through.
Watching the draft right now as well and nothing special happening so far. After 10 picks there are no real surprises.

Maybe soon there will be some news about trades I hope. The offseason will take off from now, excited to see what big moves we will see in the next weeks!

EDIT: Does anybody know who the tall guy with the neck tattoos is congratulating most of the picked players while they are walking to the podium? Maybe some agent or something? Just wondering.

Yeah, seems to be Wemby is the only name that we have heard in this year's draft, the hype is big for this kid, like every NBA players are watching him. It's too early to say if he will have a big impact or not.

Maybe we can compare him to Zion? big hype, he enter the league have impact but he got injured, and now he is injury prone and there are rumors that he could be traded too.

Yeah, they'll get to it eventually.
The important thing that they need to do for now is to get him and then do the rest next when he's with them. Everything is gonna be taken care of by the management and it's all planned and they've got programs for him already. We're all optimistic that he's gonna be built by the team and there are a lot more plans for him.

All eyes are on Victor Wembanyama in the next season and could be gotten by the San Antonio Spurs, right now the San Antonio Spurs really need to up their Roster and Wembanyama is a great addition to the Spurs and There is a reason why the Spurs are lucky enough in getting him a 7-foot-4 Kevin Durant on offense and a mixture of Rudy Gobert defensively so getting Wembanyama in full shape and muscle should get him fit to be like Durant and Gobert powerhouse,

Chris Paul going to the Warriors as a backup for Steph Curry? I didn’t expect that. I guess CP3 thought that was his best chance at a ring. This to me means that Jordan Poole is done in Golden State. Crazy because I thought he would be next up, especially with Draymond rumored to be leaving the team this offseason. First surprise of the offseason…

Edit: Looks like Poole was in the trade. Checks out…

This is the craziest deal that I see, I don't really want to underestimate Chris Paul but the injury-prone CP3, but a likely good trade Jordan Poole and Draymond Green chemistry are likely to Crumble away so a good trade will be Jordan Poole to the other team but I am very negative about the Chris Paul trade if this is real, for me CP3 is not consistent but Consistent in getting injured, sorry Chris Paul fans but I am frustrated about this,

For sure the Warriors got the bad end of the deal in terms of getting the injury prone CP3, but they gained a veteran that will play 45-55 games a year and the got rid of the locker room drama. They're going to resign Draymond and want to fix their core, losing a decent but erratic shooter is not a big deal although pool has some major potential.

Draymond Green has done more in the Warriors franchise than Poole did, so I guess this is a good move by them to get rid of a player who didn't achieve anything yet, and choked last playoffs. For sure the Warriors will try and re-sign Green like you said, and let the core intact.

The question now is, will CP3 accept that he will be a bench player because most of the time, Curry is the starting PG of the Warriors. I don't see CP3, and Curry in the starting 5 because that will make them really small, and that will affect their defense. Just imagine their starting 5 of CP3, Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, and Green. They're really small if that's their starting 5. If CP3 really want to win a ring, he must accept his role in the Warriors as a sixth man, or they might trade him at the middle of the season. I still can't forget the time where CP3 danced in front of Curry when he shot a three pointer when the shot clock is about to expire. Cheesy Now they are teammates already.

As for the Wizards, they're on a rebuilding stage, and signing Poole, and develop him is a good choice. I wonder if Kuzma will be the next to be traded after trading KP and Beal.

Looking like there’s possibly going to be an official announcement tomorrow that Damian Lillard has been traded to the Heat for Anfernee Simmons and some draft picks. That’s what Woj is reporting anyway, which basically means it is a done deal. Damian has already said he’s winning an MVP playing alongside Jimmy Butler.

It's like a new era for them and a new face and that's why they'll have to make sure that they get the kid and build up the team with supporting players as well. We do remember all of those rosters that they've got including Duncan, Manu, Parker and with some Kawhi as well.

Yup! new faces indeed we could surely see when Wembanyama plays next season if he is a worthwhile prospect but chemistry is more important aswell Well last season many have high hopes for Paolo Banchero in the 1st games he showed potential but it is likely not solid enough I think it is really a whole new level when it comes to the NBA but I think Paolo Banchero can eventually be landed on his top gear next season, and the play doesn't revolves on him so he doesn't really have any position on the Orlando Magic, but I think if the Magic can give much credit to the Kid he can surely develop well showing his stats for each game he is doing great I fear that Victor Wembanya would start like this in his 1st run for the NBA,

I'd ease up on the Kevin Durant on offense and gobert on defense comparisons.  I get it the kid looks good but let him play a couple months in the NBA before we compare him to one of the best offensive players in the world and a desire player of the year type of guy all in one lol.

Well, I am just addressing those speculations about this kid, comparing it maybe near those caliber play of Kevin Durant and Gobert but not really at that level, but maybe they are saying if given the kid's improvement and development he would build up just like those players, because he is showing great offense, and defense already if the San Antonio Spurs can build this kid good then he will surely end up in that same caliber,

but I am not really expecting him to perform like that on the start of the season,

Well, the GSW would like to try if it's gonna work if they've got CP3 on them and while we've seen how poor the last performances of Poole. I'm excited on this trade and how he's going to play with Steph. As you've said, he's prone to injury and he's gonna be like have the numbered days in his professional career. There's no need to be sorry on the fans, this usually how it goes with these trades and hopefully that GSW won't get injuries a lot and at the same time with their key players. Because if that happens, we might see on how they've became a lackluster for a season.

The fans could've been mad at me because I am against this trade, for me, CP3 is not consistent anymore, and could also miss a lot of games it is not a good trade but surely he is good friends with Stephen Curry so Curry would want CP3 by his side, but I don't really see a big potential about this trade being great,

Really really bad, that 45 - 55 games in my opinion isn't  enough what if CP3 could not play the whole playoffs and the finals, Jordan Poole is a much decent trade to somebody who is not prone to injuries, and now I think that Andre Iguodala would retire next season to give his spot to a more suited player, for me it is a big lost if there isn't any Draymond Green to the team,

Is it? How bad are the Golden State Warriors whenever they bench Steph and use Jordan Poole as their point guard? Even my wife was so damn mad about Jordan Poole even though she is a pure GSW fan.  Cheesy
Ball-handling is not good, too many extras in his dribble. The shooting percentage is down, no more Poole Party that is happening. His explosiveness is gone after their recent championship. I think it got way over his head.
It's actually not a terrible trade. Someone who could take care of the ball might be what they need. Steph keeps on running, he is not a pure PG as he likes to get the ball from a run while it will be CP3 who will be looking for him. If they get Draymond back, they won't have to worry about defense too. As long as CP3 learns the switches that are happening then I think they are good.

Yeah, and probably Poole will have the green light to shoot 30+ in game? Lol. I think he will thrive though in the Wizards uniform, as you have said he is inconsistent specially this season, perhaps there were still drama in the locker room after the punching incident with Draymond and it carry on throughout. Anyhow good luck to Jordan.
Probably. The Wizards are in bad shape now with all the trades that are happening. KP was gone, Beal was gone, and Kuzma declined the player option. What is left there are bench players and adding new ones will be hard to swallow. It will probably be just like last year with an independent role for each player, not a team yet.

Why not CP3 be the starting PG for the Warriors, then Curry be the SG or Klay on that position. Just so funny though that 3 days ago I saw a interview from Mike Dunleavy Jr and saying that with Poole's contract, he will stay with the Warriors. But after that he was traded.

For Kuzma, if I'm not mistaken he declined the offer from the Wizards and most likely be in the trading block as well.

And if that happens then Poole will act as the new franchise player.

Curry is not going to relinquish his role as the starting guard. CP3 will not be playing every game, they will use him sparingly because he is older and has a tendancy to get injured. The Warriors have their core and lots of role players on the team, they're going to be looking to get past the drama from last year in the locker room and come together again for 1 last championship run. Klay and Steph will not be around forever.

I believe that CP3 should lead the second unit, as his playing time needs to be managed and he may not be suited for the starting lineup. CP3 has proven to be clutch, especially compared to JP3, who has a high turnover ratio in the playoffs. Hopefully, this change will have a positive impact, and I also hope that the Warriors will acquire more big men to strengthen their roster.

Because I believe the offer is too low compared to his expectations, well, he really is a special player, so he deserves a better salary. Who knows, he could land on a team that really needs a star player who could help them reach the championship. Kuzma is still young; he can still develop his skills, so I think he made the right decision.

His stats have actually improved with the Wizards.

Yes, provably he will lead the second unit and for sure he can help a lot especially if he paired up with Looney. CP3 addition is really great since he's not a selfish player and for sure he can help a lot to GSW since he is also well known a difference maker in the team and he can make the big man play more better. Now Poole is out maybe they should consider to add 1 more solid big man which can also shoot in perimeter since this is their lacking on their rooster then they became a title contender again.

The fans could've been mad at me because I am against this trade, for me, CP3 is not consistent anymore, and could also miss a lot of games it is not a good trade but surely he is good friends with Stephen Curry so Curry would want CP3 by his side, but I don't really see a big potential about this trade being great,
Well, unlike the other forums, basketball groups and communities, I don't think that there will be a thrown hate to you when you're just spitting your opinion. Unlike on the other areas and social networks, the toxicity there is at peak.

Yeah, seems to be Wemby is the only name that we have heard in this year's draft, the hype is big for this kid, like every NBA players are watching him. It's too early to say if he will have a big impact or not.
Can't deny that the hype that Wemby made for this draft year was really huge and noisy.

Maybe we can compare him to Zion? big hype, he enter the league have impact but he got injured, and now he is injury prone and there are rumors that he could be traded too.
Who knows until the actual season starts but I'm wishing him best for his career as it looks like everyone is truly optimistic on what's going to be his career run with the Spurs.

It's too early to compare him with Zion. We don't even know if he can truly live up to his status as a star. Zion has already proven himself to be a dominant player, whereas we haven't seen that from Wemby in the NBA yet. So let's reserve that comment for the future. We need to witness his greatness first.

Didn't expect the move of GSW trading Poole to get CP3 and so is Poole I guess. I thought he is one of the future of GSW along with Kuminga. Maybe, it would be a different story if only he perform well last season. I don't think Poole loves to be traded. Based on my observation he wanted to stay in GSW like Curry, and Thompson. As for CP3, joining GSW is his best chance to get a ring before his retirement in a few more years.

Yes, if not for the drama prior to the start of the season and then in the playoffs, maybe he will still be a Warrior right now. But I guess the management really weight everything specially in his performance in the second round. He was non-existent and instead of helping, he has somewhat become a issue now. So the Warriors are still going to be good though, they still have their leader in Green and Steph Curry, and then adding another experience player, might be good for them. I'm seeing maybe Kuminga and Wiggins getting the benefit of the trade as for sure CP3 passing ability like getting a alley-oop pass for this two will be great for the team.

Didn't expect the move of GSW trading Poole to get CP3 and so is Poole I guess. I thought he is one of the future of GSW along with Kuminga. He hasn't been acting professionally, despite the drama. Perhaps he should continue playing as he used to. Maybe he was intentionally trying to sabotage the Warriors with his poor performance, and there's a possibility he was even betting against his own team, knowing he would harm their chances. Such behavior is unacceptable for a highly paid player. His underperformance led to the management's decision to let him go, which was a good move.
