Where in Washington? I might be able to point you in the right direction.

I have seen some interesting treads somewhere. Comparing Satoshi emails and white paper to the writing styles of other big names in the community's writing styles. I would be interested to see if the newest email matched simmarly to some of his older stuff.

Good artical! Read threw it, don't skip to the end.

This part made me sad because It's true (to me) and apparently to szabo

So with all these scary uncertainties, you may ask why hasn’t Satoshi come out to speak on the behalf of one side or the other in order to settle the dispute?  Indeed it would be akin to him coming out to act as a 3rd party mediator, such as when a parent comes in to break up a fight among siblings.  There has in fact been a post by someone claiming to be Satoshi, from a valid known Satoshi email address, claiming pretty much that the XT fork is unnecessarily dangerous, see here: Satoshi? Despite the many allegations that if this was really Satoshi, he would have signed his message with a known PGP key or perhaps moved some of his coins to prove that it was him, he has not done so.  I for one do not believe that he would.  If you read the message, (ignoring for a second who it is from) he is saying that Bitcoin’s vision is not one where it is subject to the egos of charismatic leaders, including Satoshi Nakamoto.  People who harp on the fact that Satoshi has not made a provably authenticated statement is clearly missing the whole point of this message.  If he were to do so, rest assured the whole of the community will rally with him, but that is exactly what he doesn’t want to happen, a whole community blindly following authority!  Consistently so, the author points out that if it takes a benevolent dictator to pull us out of this mess “deux ex machina” then Bitcoin, as a project in decentralized money resistant to authority, has failed.  That tautological statement, is provably true if you can wrap your head around it.  Therefore, if Satoshi wants it to succeed, he won’t use his ‘God card’ and settle disputes.  If Bitcoin continually needs Satoshi to keep us from going astray, then Bitcoin isn’t worth saving.   Considering that Satoshi has likely the most coins at risk than anyone else, and him coming forward to break the impasse would likely save us (and the value of his own coins) it is truly commendable that he has not done so.  The fact that he hasn’t tells me that he (where ever he or she is) is truly acting in an altruistic manner.  He is more willing to let Bitcoin die, than to let it continue on as a system that does not value consensus as its first and foremost priority.

I actually felt that part of the artical popped out to me the most. I know the majority around this thread feel it was a scam/fake who got into his email but as he said, Satoshi wouldn't play the "God card". Who knows could be a hacker or Satoshi. One things for sure is the artical hit the nail on the head.

my friend say Bitcoin XT is a virus Huh

Gavin and Hearn are the virus! Lies on the core front won't help the fight. Even though it's my belief they won't have THEIR  "consensus" to fork they will take any inch they can get to adanvce their agenda.
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin" XT Status Update on: August 21, 2015, 02:23:18 AM
Or put the NOTXT Nodes back on core and let XT sit at 5-7% until they give up and relize their shit isn't going anywhere and they find a better solution.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any altcoins with 8mB blocksize limit out there ? on: August 21, 2015, 01:49:40 AM
Closest thing I know of is bitbean with 20mb. Although I think the DEV abandoned the project.  Roll Eyes big surprise Roll Eyes

BitBean is based on a pro-Gavin proposal for a Bitcoin 20MB block size fork. Why wait to see if Bitcoin will ever change, BitBean started out from the beginning with 20MB blocks!

I guess bitbean is based on Gavin's modifications .

Like stated above, the 20MB wasn't needed, just another way to pump the price for a dump.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Blocks Only + Core on: August 21, 2015, 01:33:35 AM
I feel that once the pressure is actually felt to increase the block size out of absolute need rather than by HARDfork/malicious intention, one will come. Fairly easily and quickly like this. Their are hundreds of talented and smart developers/coders in this realm that can do it better than Gavin and Hearn....

Hahaha I don't know what's better, this news or your meme! Scum bags....

Orange is the new black...

That will never happen, however much is needed/wanted... The sheeple would never demand them out cuz it's to scary for them. They like their Starbucks, 70" 1080p, xboxone, mortgage, timeshare, and new car...

1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XT: It's On! First block was mined by an XT miner on: August 19, 2015, 04:18:06 AM
It's fairly simple:

Activating a hardfork based on what miners do is really bad. You could easily have a situation where 75% of miners support XT but none of the big Bitcoin exchanges or businesses do. Then miners would start mining coins that they couldn't spend anywhere useful, and SPV users would find that they can't transact with the businesses they want to deal with. The currency would be split, and in this case XT would be in a far weaker position than Bitcoin.

The possibility of this sort of network/currency split is what makes XT not a "legitimate hardfork", but rather the programmed creation of an altcoin. A consensus hardfork can only go forward once it has been determined that it's nearly impossible for the Bitcoin economy to split in any significant way. Not every Bitcoin user on Earth has to agree, but enough that there won't be a noticeable split.

I suppose if you're someone who's expertise lies in jingoistic put-downs and not in cryptocurrency-as-monetery-medium then it probably looks "fairly simple".  Angry

To anyone who can read, bitcoin is defined by majority miner adoption, not majority business adoption.  Cry

Why are you calling Theymos "someone who's expertise lies in jingoistic put-downs" and saying he can't read?

What did he ever do to you?

Isn't it his right to moderate his forum as he sees fit?

Your already unseemly self-pity is becoming nauseating.  The sooner you Gavinistas are herded into /v/bitcoinxt to circlejerk yourselves the better.

I have been reading this XT bullshit for days, your reply was the first to make me laugh, thanks ICEBREAKER!

Seems to me Gavin want to reap the rewards of the established community without working for his ecosystem like the other. Greedy bastard, trying to capitalize on his inside privilege to the core community...

1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has code which downloads your IP address to facilitate blacklisting on: August 19, 2015, 02:48:19 AM
These things can through away Bitcoin into more problems.  So we must need to stick with Bitcoin Core.

I have been familiarizing myself with the issue and have to agree. Stick to core, there are many OTHER ways to achieve code fixes, larger block sizes, ect then a hard fork. The thought of this hard fork scares me to the point I'm ready to go into fiat until everything stablizes... It's making me sick....
