It's only natural for Leicester to lose against the strength of Liverpool, who are superior; it's difficult to get a win against a team like Liverpool. With this victory, Liverpool managed to climb to the top five, and Liverpool managed to win five times in a row. Liverpool must continue to maintain this achievement to climb to the top three at the top of the standings.

Then you would concur that it must have been really unnatural for a team like Brighton to win despite the form and strength of Arsenal. I don’t think it is only natural for Leicester to have lost against Liverpool. Admittedly, Liverpool is in a much better form and is seemingly stronger than their opponents. Despite being in better form and also better on paper, Liverpool dominated the game playing really good and had the win as a result.

With this win, Liverpool is a big threat to the positions of either Newcastle and Manchester United or perhaps both. I particularly fear for Man United as they’re pretty unpredictable when it comes to games. Would they win their remaining games and secure their spot? Or give in to the pressure and go ahead to lose or draw the remaining games left to play.

Arsenal's title dream is over. Manchester City is going to win this season's title. Arsenal would concede such a humiliating defeat at home against Brighton that was a completely unexpected result. I wouldn't say that Arsenal played very badly in this match. They were able to create several opportunities. But can't score. However, Arsenal's defense was very poor in this match. Brighton didn't attack much but still managed to score 3 goals. The Arsenal team failed to win the title despite dominating the Premier League from the beginning of the season.

I too think it was a bit humiliating to have lost at home to Brighton. I had thought Arsenal would go on to easily win in that game. I definitely wasn’t expecting the outcome of the match. Arsenal didn’t play poorly in my opinion. They just weren’t able to have a chance that could lead to a goal. I think Arsenal players became a bit frustrated later on during the final moments of the game.
Brighton on the other hand surprised quite a lot of people with their away win. I sure didn’t see it coming. With this Arsenal loss, any hope Arsenal may have harbored hoping for some miracle is lost.

While Manchester City did their job with a great performance, there are no more questions to be asked who is going to be the next EPL winner. But taking everything into account, even if it was exciting to see Arsenal compete with City for a while, City deserves it.

I think it’s quite obvious at this point on Manchester City winning the EPL. They’ve been playing amazing football and do deserve their wins and the EPL title at the end of the season. The game against Everton earlier showed Man City at its finest as they won comfortably and didn’t even need to bring out the big guns(De Bruyne).
It was great to see Arsenal compete and actually have a shot at winning the league and it’s almost sad to see them come to the realization of losing out on the EPL title. They had a good shot at it  and should try to be happy and content with second place spot. Perhaps next season would be different.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 14, 2023, 08:45:34 PM

I can't wait for the next game between the two teams in the Champions League, but in the Premier League Gündogan has once more delivered a great show against Everton. His body control when he scored the first goal was impressive.

Yes, it was impressive on how he scored that goal. He didn’t have to look to know where the goal was and succeeded to flick the ball towards the goal without having to turn around. An inexperienced player can’t successfully pull of that move without some sort of luck. Gündoğan Is an experienced player.

I particularly liked his goal scored from a free kick position. That goal too showed a player with skills. There wasn’t much pressure on the shot yet he was able to very precise and had the ball go over everyone’s head and into the goal. A very good goal. He was impressive in scoring both goals in this game.

3.0 is a shameful defeat on Arsenal, really shameful, I never expected that a team as Brighton would beat a big Arsenal by such a huge margin, to the ton of 3 goals to nothing from Arsenal, super angry with this performance sincerely, I can't even raise my head up and be proud as an Arsenal fan, it's such a very bad time to be called an Arsenal fan, really really disappointed.

Arsenal losing to Brighton by 3 goals and not having to score even 1 is actually humiliating. I know Brighton not to be a push over but never expected them to win Arsenal and by 3 goals too. It’s sad even.
The first half had ended with a draw and although I wondered why Arsenal had found it a bit difficult to score a goal yet, I wasn't scared cause I definitely didn’t see a loss coming.

I’m sure you’re not alone in not being proud of being an Arsenal fan at the moment. Before the end of the game, a whole lot of Arsenal fans could be seen leaving the stadium and the seats were half empty. I bet they too are not proud of their club at the moment. I think Arsenal fans should still try and take solace in second place as it’s not that bad.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 14, 2023, 05:25:43 PM

Even if Arsenal lose all the remaining matches, this is unlikely to displace them from second place, but the reason for a radical reshuffle in the team is provided. Even necessary. It is bad for a team of this level to demonstrate such a low level of play.

It’s totally disappointing to see a top club like Arsenal playing so poorly against Brighton. Brighton has just put another one in to solidify their win over Arsenal. With about 2 minutes to the 90th minute, There is very little chance of Arsenal coming back from this. I sure didn’t see Arsenal losing to Brighton. I did think it would be an easy win for Arsenal with Brighton probably scoring a goal.

Brighton was motivated by their first goal and didn’t relent on the pressure and ended up scoring another one. If there was a team that would have won Arsenal by two goals to nil, I didn't think that team was Brighton. They have by far exceeded my expectations for them in this game.
8 added minutes till the final whistle ending the game. It’s too late for Arsenal now.

Brighton has shocked everyone and added one more goal. 3:0 now.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 14, 2023, 04:43:52 PM
Everton couldn't help Arsenal today... I think City will win all their remaining games this season and Arsenal will have no more luck, they missed out on the opportunity to take the first place... Judging by the game against Brighton, Arsenal could lose this game as well... It's just as important for Brighton to pick up points and aim for the European Cups... Honestly I think Brighton deserved it...

Everton definitely couldn’t match the night of Manchester City nor did I expect them to do so. Everton couldn’t hold City back as City ended up winning the game comfortably and claiming the three points. I too think City would win their remaining games left to play this season and lift the EPL title. Arsenal shouldn’t hope for a miracle as it’s probably too late for any miracles.

I won’t say Arsenal could lose this match as anything could happen in the next 45 minutes . The second half, having just begun would be quite interesting. I think Arsenal could score a goal in this half. Although, not underestimating Brighton as they’ve been doing great so far in holding down the fort. Could they hold the scoreline and perhaps get a draw?

Brighton just put one in and are currently leading by a goal!
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 14, 2023, 02:32:10 PM
Looks like it was going to be a tough game until the end and I was not expecting the goals to have reached up to 2 goals in the first half either, As Everton was able to hold down city on a draw till 30+ minutes, plus Everton mauling of Brighton Albion 5-1 makes them look solid for City side to break in. Pep side is unstoppable in their title race and are incredible in creating chances for goal scoring which they've just proven once again.

It’s definitely going to be a tough for Everton at least till the end of the game. Manchester City, having added one more goal to their tally. A beautiful goal scored by Gündoğan from a free kick. I had thought Mahrez being better at taking free kicks in my opinion would have been the one to take it and I initially didn’t support Gündoğan playing it but I guess it didn’t make any difference as the ball sailed cleanly into the goal.

At the moment, Everton is pressing hard to get a goal of theirs and if they keep at it, they possibly might just get it. Having just had a good attempt from a corner kick, it’s clear they’re trying hard to get a goal.
Manchester City is a team that’s presently in top form and in my opinion, there isn’t any club in the EPL that could stand up to City’s dominance.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 14, 2023, 02:06:18 PM
It’s the half time mark and I don’t think anyone thought Everton stood a chance against Manchester City. Man city, having scored two goals in the first half is ahead and on its way to finally win the game. Gündoğan is a great and experienced player and this showed with his goal today. He was flanked by defenders and couldn’t afford to waste any time trying to turn, therefore flicking the ball into the bottom corner. Knew where the goal was and didn’t need to look. Amazing player.
Haaland on the other hand, had the advantage of his height and jumped well above everyone else and easily with a header, put the ball at the back of the net to give his side another goal.
Everton has tried in holding their own but they actually can’t do much in holding back the pressure put on by Manchester City.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 13, 2023, 08:00:26 PM
Man United played pretty well today. They narrowly lost in ball possession, but overall they were the ones who seemed to dominate the match. Their rhythm of play looked promising and they had some good chances which could have turned into goals. Even though they failed to take advantage of all these opportunities but Man United can still get 2 goals from that. With the acquisition of these 3 points, at least they managed to keep their distance from Liverpool.

Manchester United did play well and got a well deserved win. The match stats shows Manchester United had less of the ball in their possession. I think that also shows how well they played and utilized their chances whenever they had the ball in their possession. And I agree, they did dominate the game. Having 27 attempts, it was a shame they could only get 9 on target else they probably could have scored more goals. The important thing was the win and that, they did get.
I think the Wolves goalie was pretty active and did a good job in keeping out some good attempts.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 13, 2023, 05:54:53 PM

FT now confirm and United picking maximum 3 points from Wolverhampton. The early goal from martial in the first half gave the old Trafford team the confidence lead. Second half was opportunity taken by Garnacho sealing the dominated wolves side at 90+4. This winning is still making the statement for United on the fourth position with now on 66 points with Newcastle.

Manchester United’s win over Wolves, has bagged three more points. I was a bit scared and had thought Wolves could actually equalize especially with the substitutions that brought Adama into the game. And if Wolves could score a goal to equalize the scoreline, then they could as well score another one and perhaps win the game.

It was a huge relief when Garnacwho, who himself came in as a substitute stepped up, scored another goal and abolished any fears I had left of Wolves equalizing. It was a good game for Man United as they’ve bagged a win that now has them at an equal number of points with third place Newcastle.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 13, 2023, 03:51:09 PM
Well, that was a beautiful attempt by Casemiro that could have definitely led to Man United having a second goal and solidifying their win over wolves. They’ve been playing well and has gotten a goal scored by Martial earlier in the first half.
Manchester United doesn’t seem to be relenting on their oars as they’re striving to score another goal. It’s good to see United attacking more and generally playing much better. 90 minutes is gone and 6 minutes have been added till the final whistle is blown. Manchester United should try and hold the line till the end. They desperately need the points.

- All ad spaces must be taken and prepaid before the campaign can begin.

This is why I think it’s much better to stick to having and advertising one company at a time.
If there’s a company willing to pay for a slot in your signature, do you think it’s fair to make that company wait till heaven knows when/if all your slots would be taken?
Supposing all 3 slots are finally taken, what then would happen if one or two companies decides to do away with you after a week, the campaign would then be paused leaving the third company hanging.

1035  Economy / Economics / Re: As an Economist how do you tackle inflation? on: May 12, 2023, 07:53:19 AM
The price of commodities are becoming more scary by the day. As an economist with lots of bills to settle how do you deal with the price hikes, the expensive cost of living, The fluctuation in volatile assets and the demand to meet our every day needs.

Most nations are facing currency devaluation, economic downturn, Static GDP and slow revenue generation. What are your secrets for meeting the day to day expenses regardless of the inflation.

You could try and buy in bulk whatever you would need cause todays price would probably not be tomorrows price with the slow but steady rise in prices. Also, I think if you would really want to cut on your spending, then you should do away with luxury goods and items. There are always substitute options to choose from that way less expensive. Do away with widely known brands of items and source for locally produced products which would be cheaper and perhaps has the same quality and standard as the widely known brands.

Even with a college degree, jobs may not be readily available or accessible so the urgent need for skills acquisition. If an individual is armed with the right skills and also knows his onions, that individual would probably have jobs more than he could possibly handle.
1036  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 12, 2023, 04:51:00 AM
From my experience as a business person, in buying and selling, I have discovered some helpful tips on how to increase profit. I an happy to share some in this forum.
Customer relation, a business person must understand that customer is king and should be treated like a royalty. Even it they are buying the least thing in your shop. When they leave your shop delighted, be assured that they will always come back to patronise you. And they will even market your products to their friends. Meaning more patronage for your business which will be increasing your profit.
Your business should have at least one season when you give out rewards and discounts to customers when they buy your products. This will increase your sales geometrically and when you remove the cost of the reward and discounts, you will still have increased profit.
Stock different brands of the products that you sell. Customers will prefer to enter a shop where they will see different varieties of what they need. More customers will enter and will even be tempted to buy more than they planned for. More customers equals more profit.

Please feel free to drop your own ideas on how to increase profit in businesses.

Personally, what always brings me back to any business is the way I’m received and treated. So I guess hiring the best staff that actually knows how best to engage with customers is really important.
The customer is king alright. But that doesn’t mean you should bend over to satisfy just any customer. There are some rude customers that aren’t worthy of respect and shouldn’t be treated as such.

One good way of increasing sales is to honestly advertise your products as well as letting people know where your business is located at. Rewarding your loyal customers is also a good way to go by giving out discounts and promotions that will further draw new customers but you should be careful as to not run at a loss giving out discounts.
You wouldn’t want to forget your first priority when going into business which is to make profits. Finally, you should always keep track of your business finances which entails keeping your bookkeeping precise and up to date.
1037  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: May 11, 2023, 05:35:48 PM

Before moving out of your country make sure that you are really up for the challenge because things will be different and you will still have to struggle to make some changes, the struggle you believe you escaped from is waiting for you in other country.

There are no truer words written than what you wrote. A whole lot of people do think life is rosy and sweet over in developed countries. But the fact is, you would have to work hard for your paycheck. Admittedly, the standard of living would be much better than developing nations but that doesn’t mean developed nations don’t have their own share of problems. So before anyone would plan to move away to locate greener pastures, make sure you’re really up for the challenge and no doubt, there are lots of challenges to be faced when migrating to a new environment.
A lot of people thinking life would be better elsewhere than their home country make the move to travel only to come back to their home country more wretched and miserable than they went.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 11, 2023, 11:28:55 AM

There were unlucky moments for Milan as well actually yeah. They wasted a couple of big goal opportunities. One of them was Tonali's decent shot which hit the post. But in general Inter seemed much better. Besides the biggest help for Inter was their scoring two goals very early in the game. This was a really big shock for Milan players to get rid of.

If Inter didn't start this much quick maybe the result would have been different. I was expecting both sides to score honestly despite Leao's absence.

I think early goals do help in destabilizing opponents. AC Milan had more of the ball in their possession as well as had a couple of attempts but the early goals scored probably destabilized them and they ended up not being able to even score a goal of their own. It’s obvious on why you or anyone would think Inter seemed better cause they ultimately won the first leg of the game.

I also did think both sides would score like and was actually disappointed when the game ended with AC Milan, despite having more of the ball during gameplay failed to score a goal. Playing at home didn’t seem to have any impact on the game.  The second leg would be interesting as I would like to see AC Milan try to come back from this.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 11, 2023, 05:16:02 AM

Haaland was not that effective on the pitch yesterday it is because he doesn't receive much creative passes from other players especially from de bruyne that always creates does nice passes. As you said that de bruyne was good with passes yesterday I agree with you, and that is the reason why Haaland did not pay to our expectations that yesterday too. infact Haaland doesn't have good spaces that yesterday to creat good chance with ball because rudiger was really given him a very close markings yesterday.just know any match de bruyne didn't play every well, it will be hard for Haaland to productive too.

Yes, Haaland wasn’t effective on the pitch in the game with Real Madrid. He didn’t get the nice passes he normally gets from De Bruyne and other players. Haaland himself is a dangerous striker and Madrid knew that. They had caged him real good and given him no room to do anything productive.

I think De Bruyne, after having realized that Haaland couldn’t be totally relied upon to score a goal cause of the close marking he receives from the Madrid defense, went ahead on his own and with a beautiful strike, scored a goal to help equalize the game that finally ended in a draw. I also think Haaland is a amazing player no doubt. But I doubt he could create chances on his own and score goals.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: May 09, 2023, 11:09:56 PM

Two powerful goals tonight from the brazilian and then also the belgian, the build up to city's goal was supposed to be checked by car but they failed to do that. Kevin with the assist of gundogan helped to equalize the match.

Both City and Madrid gave hundred percent tonight, it is the best result for the night, officiating officials was really not at their neutral best tonight. Arsenal fans supporting Madrid is something that made me laugh.

Two beautiful goals scored by both sides. Goals scored by precise hard shots. I don’t think the goal scored by Manchester City needed a VAR check. Both teams gave their all and managed to each score a goal. I had expected more goals in the game but both sides held their own and defended like crazy.
Arsenal fans supporting Real Madrid is in my opinion, only natural. Obviously Arsenal fans aren’t happy with Man City overtaking and going ahead of them in the first place on the EPL table. So I guess they would gladly support the opposition.

I for one would love to see Manchester City win the Champions League. The second leg would hopefully turn out in City’s favor.
