What a disaster! Again the top order and the middle order batting collapsed. Australia domination continues on the second day as well. I have as of now zero hopes from Indian batters. Travis Head by the way has recorded his name in the history books. He became the first batter to score a century in World Test Championship followed by Smith. The third day would be crucial as we will be able to know where this match is headed. At the moment the road looks very bumpy and steep for India.
Though its too early to say but things are in favor of Aussies thanks to Smith and Head magnificent batting. For the second consecutive day, the Indians have performed poorly. They did a decent job by bowling out Australia for a total of less than 500. Trust me they are never going to find a true replacement for MS Dhoni. They might find someone who is a good captain but as I have been saying for a long time, MS Dhoni was the best captain for India and CSK. I actually think that he was the best captain ever in cricket. To me, there will be a debate between MS Dhoni and Mashrafe bin Mortaza because these two achieved unbelievable things with very limited resources.
Anyway, I also think that CSK should look for a player to potentially replace Dhoni. Otherwise, they are going to face a lot of problems in the upcoming years.
Dhoni was no doubt one of greatest captain India ever had. Under his captaincy India was able to win T20 and ODI world cup along with ICC champions trophy. No Indian captain has this honour. The best thing about MS is that he left international cricket at the right time and with honur, this is something not common specially in players of subcontinent. Dhoni is still a very capable player. We all already saw how well he has played in this IPL season. His hands are still the fastest for any wicketkeeper in the world in my opinion. He can obviously play one more if he wishes. Actually, I will say that as long as he can contribute to the team well and is not a burden on the team he can play. So, I don't think it is a problem if he decides to play one more season in the IPL. As long as he performs it is going to be entertaining.
CSK winning IPL 2023 under Mahi captaincy says all about his performance. Mahi is almost 42 years old and his fitness clearly says that he is fit for coming IPL. In last IPL, CSK tried Jadega as captain and that test failed miserably, as CSK won only 4 matches and finished 9th on points table. But CSK must try to look for replacement of Mahi in coming years. Its better to find and groom new captain under Dhoni leadership for long term benefits of CSK. |

Exactly West Indies team is much stronger as compare to the United Arab Emirates team. In the first ODI match we saw how West Indies perform and won the match. UAE team gave the target of 203 runs and I was thinking that this is not enough for the West Indies team. And West Indies team chased the in 35 overs and gave only 3 wickets. West Indies is far much better side then UAE, while UAE team is composed of players from sub-continent. UAE team was not even able to play there full quota of 50 overs and were bowled out for 202 runs in 48 overs. West Indies was in complete control of the match from first ball. I watched the 50-over match between Namibia and Karnataka yesterday on Fancode. Turned out to be an exciting one. The first match was won by Karnataka with a big margin and the win yesterday allowed Namibia to level the series at 1-1. Karnataka batted first, and made 360/4 in 50 overs. In return, Namibia started slowly, but chased down the target with one ball to spare. And this is not a full strength Karnataka squad, as almost all of their capped players were missing. Ravikumar Samarth was the captain and yesterday Nikin Jose and Revanna Chethan made centuries. For Namibia, Michael van Lingen made 104, while the captain Gerhard Erasmus got out for 91.
Namibia is on tour to India? This match was not listed on espncricinfo.com. There is so much less coverage to such matches that's why most of us miss them. Now WIndies is touring UAE for ODI series. I don't understand why such series is scheduled as UAE still is an associate team and there level of game is no way near to any test playing side. Afghanistan already have qualified for ODI world cup while Srilanka will play the qualifying round to make it to ODI world cup. This is just a bilateral series and have no effect on ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League – Standings. As I said earlier, SL came well prepred for todays game after giving a target of 323 runs they never allowed Afghan batsmen to score runs. Ibrahim Zadran and Hashmatullah Shahidi scored fifties but not in accordance with required run rate. Today is an easy win for SL and series is now levelled and 3rd ODI will be interesting to watch. |

Not expecting much from Afghanistan as a target is quite high, which is above par and the longer the format becomes it gets tough for a team like Afghanistan despite their t-20 bravado.
Dont know why you placed a bet on Afghanistan at the time when they need 212 runs on 150 balls with 8 wickets left. Afghanistan won the first ODI, but everyday is not Sunday. Today Srilanka came well prepared and they have given a target of 324 runs after winning the toss. The required RR is 14.5 at the moment and its not the best moment to bet on Afghanistan. Today these two teams will play 2nd ODI match. According to the last match Afghanistan team is looking more strong as compare to Srilankan team. Because the last match was amazing I was in the favor of Srilankan team but Afghanistan team played really well and chased the target of 269 runs in 47 overs and gave only 4 wickets. Ibrahim Zadran played really well but unfortunately he got out on 98 runs and didn't complete his century.
Srilanka after winning the toss decided to bat first and after 27 overs they are 136/2. Sri Lanka today got a good opening start of 82 runs and today there batting performance is relatively better then how they played in last ODI. Today they must give a target of over 300 runs to give there bowlers chance to win the game. We saw Afghanistan chasing 268 quite easily in last ODI.
