1021  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What opportunities do you see around you? on: December 21, 2023, 10:00:06 PM

Why then are people not going into farming? Why do we cry about unemployment when many people have lands they can cultivate in the villages yet lying fallow. I truly see a very big opportunity in farming.

Why people don't go into farming is simply because of herds men. We dey talk like say we don forget say herds men dey carry their cows enter people farm go chop all the things wey farmers suffer plant. In some cases self the herders dey uproot cassava by themselves put for ground for the animals to dey chop. If them enter any farm all the things dey finish of course we know say the cow dey plenty waka. These herders dey carry knife, gun and ready to kill any vigilante wey try to chase dem.

What about insecurity wey farmers dey face, raping of women for farm, kidnapping etc.

All these food shortages and problem started with Buhari because him no gree stop herders to dey waka enter people farm, so na the consequences be this wey dey go on like this.

There are many other areas that present huge opportunities that people are not tapping into. My mindset has changed so much lately as I have realised that Nigeria is like an untapped treasure. I'm from South South Nigeria and I can only say about my area. Those from other regions can narrate what they consider as opportunity in their place.

Which other ways my brother wey no be bonkering wey dey illegal. To do genuine business for here to trade and buy no be easy thing again, if you no take time your capital go waka with inflation. The only opportunity wey me I dey see na online business wey you just only need your smartphone and data.

My brother you hit the nail for the head, na my mind naim you just talk so, sometimes I go just dey look people wey dey talk about say  farming naim be the way just dey laugh because, if to say them fey actually do the farm work dem go know how the business don spoil reach. Thank God say the op talk say before dem dey get am clear from farming, I still let you know say now and den nor be the same thing oo.

Yes na true say people nor suppose to sit down for house nor dey any but to play draft or do approko and complain about the government while dem fit actually engage demsef for something wey go fit produce money, but when we talk about farming my brother, if you nor get land e dey very hard now to convince person wey get make em for give you small portion wey you go use take farm oo, even like this sef, some lands wey we been dey use farm the owners don come collect am say dem wan build house in the next 3 month, but like this e don dey go 4 better years e never still do anything.

Me na better cassava farmer, based on the south region of the country wey I from, before the rainy/flood season we don harvest our cassava finish and we go come store the cassava stem till dry season for the next farm season. After we don go plant finish aboki go carry their cow go chop the only stem wey we get, and the funny part na be say most of the stem na buy we dey buy am, do you can just imagine after all the stress and money wey you put inside, everything go just go like that. About two months ago herds men been kill one of my relative for bush just because e ho question dem, and that thing bring very big problem, now the man wife and 7 children dey house, no papa.

No be say better thing nor dey for the farm business oo, but the stress come join with disappointment wey herds men dey cause naim just dey make the thing dey tire person sometimes, even for isoko south of delta state the rapping reported cases don many well well. So my brother, no be the way you thing say e dey naim e dey so oo, things don change well well.
1022  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: December 21, 2023, 06:55:48 PM
so yeah, you could well have an emergency fund that covers 3-6 months of your expenses (salary) and helps you to feel comfortable that you have enough money in such emergency fund in the case you might be able to be more aggressive in your bitcoin investment and also to have the emergency fund available in case you overdo it... which might sometimes end up happening, and it should be minimized that you are counting on your emergency fund, yet after you maintain an emergency fund for a long enough period of time and you get used to maintaining an emergency fund, then you should come to realize how to use it and the creation of your own personal boundaries for when and how to use it..

Well spoken Mr JJG, emergency funds are very important for every Bitcoin investor who is into long term holding. Emergency funds are the basic things any Bitcoin investor should set aside before going into investment. Just as you said most times we get too tempted to overdo our investment due to the market movement, especially now that we are close to the halving and would be experience th bull run thereafter. Most times I sit back and wonder if I'm out of my mind for making some aggressive decision in accumulating Bitcoin, but then I realize that every decision concerning Bitcoin is worth the risk, and that is how move on.

After stumbling on those 9 factor and examining my condition, I think I need to work on number 8 because, my application of accumulating strategy isn't flexible and I need to update myself time to time. However it's not all that necessary, especially for newbies. I think the category of person worthy of trying this strategy are those above the newbie stage, newbies in Bitcoin holding are advised to stick with DCA until you seem comfortable of holding without hitting the sell button, then you can go ahead in exploring other strategies. I am still applying buy the dip with DCA and this is the best I have seen so far, don't know if there are other strategy better than this for now, but I think I am comfortable enough to make some changes.
1023  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Glo and it's network wahala on: December 21, 2023, 06:07:30 PM
All this their network issues dem, na why I never still buy Glo sim, though na them be the best for data offers and Dem sabi customer. But that their network issues just too much, the worst tin wey go happen to person na make e go use Glo sim as em bank ussd transfer sim, because Glo network com join bank own, that na very big network combo Grin. Just as Mr Charles_Tim don talk, e go good make you try all the sims but I go advise make you nor even waist your time try Etisalat, because na them be the worst. Me na Airtel I dey use, and I'm satisfied with the offer wey Dem dey give me.

something times all this network issues dem na from our phones, I dey experience some kind time wey my phone network go just dey slow or nor dey even work sef wen I sti get data, so until I put the fone for airplane mode come commot am, before e go come dey operate normal. So most times you fit dey try this technique.

The the second technique wey I go recommend na say, if your fone network dey slow down, while you get data, just go your call side for the phone as if you wan dial number. Den dail *#*#4636#*#* you go come see some options, pick phone information, then just go down to where the you go see preferred network select LTE which is 4G, then just minimize go back to your browser or wattin you been dey do, you go observe say the network go come fast.

Follow the pictures direction and you'll be just fine.
Note: this one nor dey work for all phones especially Samsung, though I never try am for iOS(iphone) but e dey work for other Android device wey I don try

1024  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Scam and hack 4 9ja on: December 21, 2023, 09:27:49 AM
Op you don really try to update us for scam and hack matter, all this kind of thread na wattin dey very necessary for reminder, because as we dey wise dey go, na so scammers and hackers Dem sef sti dey improv on dia skills and knowledge, I don tell people tire make Dem nor dey fill all those federal government palliative links but Dem nor dey gree, to me that na one of the most obvious way to take identify hacker.
And to add to wattin you don talk about hacker and scammers, hacker dey more of people wey dey do programming and Dem sabi write code, the ones wey we dey hear for all this crypto side, na the hand work of hackers, the part wey scammer come in na the trading of your coin through p2p. Person wey go scam go tell you to send you coin come make Dem for credit you, but if you go loose guide Dem go just use your coin take jolof.
But most of this yahoo boys wey dey we contri na scam Dem dey scam, so make we shine our eyes oo, make we for not go fall victim. This bpip site wey dey connected to this forum, I nor dey like to enter there reach 5min because  your connect most times nor dey secure with site. If you see that red sign just no say you dey exposed to hackers

1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which type of gambling have more gambling addicts ? on: December 21, 2023, 07:23:17 AM
Honestly speaking all gambling has their own addicts who are very irresponsible in their gambling, and I believe gambling addiction is a self decision. However the disadvantage of casino in house gambling is that while gambling you might be there all by yourself and no one might be able to advise you on quitting, though you can also go in with very little amount and still have a long day of gambling experience. and casino gambling also offers gamblers the opportunity of winning a jackpot. Then on the other hand, one on one player gambling seem more like the rich men gambling so higher stakes are made and most of them knows when to quit after all, they can even go into the gambling hall with some of their associates, and can be advised when to withdraw from the game. So it a bit hard to tell where more of the gambling addict arise from in both type of gambling.
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Craze for Meme coins never ends? on: December 21, 2023, 06:25:09 AM
The returns from meme coin most times can be quite impressive, 100x return isn't a minor profit  and I believe that is the main reason why investors now focus on meme coins, while neglecting the risk associated with meme coin. The higher the volatility the higher the risk and return, either bearish or bullish. Meme coins are for those investors who are actually traders or have the skills of a trader, the worst thing that can ever happen to an investor is, after considering memecoin for long term holding and the coin crashes to price zero. Considering all this risk of losing my money I just decided not to even give it a try.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 20, 2023, 10:41:49 PM
Op you are quite correct, the risk in crypto shouldn't be underestimated because, it is capable of increasing ones BP. If an investor losses his coin to a scammer, that would be a very painful experience and you can imagine loosing all his life savings in one sport. It is not advisable to keep all of your investment in crypto. Most especially when that is your life savings and you used all for crypto investment. There are some motivational speakers who can hype the market and convince you to buy, you can find such person on X. But honestly speaking it's not advisable to keep all your eggs in one basket.
1029  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Hot News on Bitcoin 🔥 on: December 20, 2023, 12:58:34 PM
All this kind news, we dey see all the time, shabi the people wey make that prediction na human being like us, the news by right no suppose to be wattin go influence our decision to buy or sell, if na news dey influence person e just mean say that person na still baby investors, though the news na positive one but we nor be trader wey dey follow after news for any stock wey wan get better spike of skyrocket. Wattin I dey try talk na be say Bitcoin na investment wey na long term be the main Koko, and when you dey into long term you nor need news again or prediction from human being wey be like you wey fit make errors for em predictions.

However I nor shock me say Bitcoin go still increase because na wattin everybody dey expect now, as we don dey very close to the halving.
1030  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Work smart on: December 20, 2023, 12:48:58 PM
My fellow newbies , I urge you all to work smart, if working hard truly pays as they say, the wheel barrow pushers and those doing hard work would have been the richest men on earth.
Take a look at the big guys, they make their money work for them, that is working smart in action.
As a Bitcoineer that we are now, the best way for we to work smart is to accumulate enough Bitcoin through the DCA method, so that when the bull runs comes by, we can reap our reward bountifully.

Bro topics like this don many well well for this local board oo, e nor go nice after person don lock this type of thread because of spamming, then make your own sef just dey. Op abeg make you try lock this thread because everything wey Dem go reply you na wattin we don talk tire for here, e go just be like say we dey repeat ourselves. And besides Dem fit tag you for spamming make you account for just go like that. So take the best action to lock this thread baba Dem from outsid this local board wey dey burst account dey observe all of us.

Take note say Bitcoin investment no be work oo, na just wattin we fit carry save some of our money for years make e for dey grow instead of to dey loss value.
1031  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 19, 2023, 10:07:10 PM
It is very bad to substitute hate and hatred towards a particular person in an argument with someone. There is no rational argument for social morality in gambling, so gambling if you have money is a purely personal reason for you. When we get together with some friends we gamble even if it is not for the sake of profit and at this moment we criticize all the gains and losses from our gambling. If someone forced you to gamble you would blame him but i don't think that is the case. In that case if someone encourages you to gamble outright you may still be guilty.
Very funny because no one can actually forced you to gamble, that's if already you didn't developed interest in the act. People that blame others for their loses or introduction to gambling is just shifting blames for their own ignorance because playing gambling is something that everyone has an option to choose from especially when it comes to the part that deals with giving you games to play. If you know that you will get hurt or angry by heeding to people advice in your gambling activities then it's better to just snub any coming your way.

You see, this is the more reason why every casino don't allow below the age of 18 to gamble, because you'll be responsible for your actions. People above the age of 17 are considered mature to make some certain life decisions and gambling isn't an exception, so I don't think legal gambler can be forced into gambling, most especially when he has the legal right to make decisions. Putting blames on someone for your loses in gambling is a childish act and a clear example of an irresponsible gambler.
1032  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: secrecy vs visibility; creating a balance. on: December 19, 2023, 09:50:06 PM
Yeah we see lots of persons who actually fall into the category of being shy on their business advertisment, but are very good with the skill. Most times, they are even better than those who show off their skill on social media and public discussions. People who tend to be shy or not into business advertisment might be due to illiteracy, because most of those people who actually takes this hand work serious are those who chose it from the start and have made it their life career unlike some that went to school and still feel those skill/ handwork are just temporary hustle.

I no go lie you the person wey dey work out generator na so e be, e nor dey talk too much, and e not go school but, if that guy touch your gen hand, you go know say person touch your gen, be it servicing or any thing, provided say e touch the engine part, your gen must change sound and work well. So people like this dey very real but you nor go know until you try Dem, then your mind go dey.
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: December 19, 2023, 04:59:34 PM
It never too late for the entire crypto market to change positively to allow hodlers to experience recover from their hodling in the market that will make others short term hodlers  to take a bold step to increase their capital and to apply long term hodling in the future. There is a hope that the BTC will rise higher above $42k before the end of this year which will be profitable for those that will endure by continue hodling for their choice to come before they can sell to make a good profits that will help them to invest when the bear run come again.

BTC will be a best choice, if you want to buy BTC now because the price has reached $42k and, it will create a lot of opportunities to those that missed it when the price was low to kindly use this period to visit market to buy and hodl for bull run to come before they can sell to be part of those that will earn well from their hodling.

Absolutely correct mate, Bitcoin investment does not have any late entry, the time some investors think it's already late, is also a good opportunity for those who truly knows about Bitcoin network. So even if the price reaches $100k after the bull run, "buy now" would still be the trending song, so no matter the price of Bitcoin it will be never too late to accumulate, the only disadvantage of buying late is, you'll not be able to accumulate a whole bitcoin easily, but aside that there is other disadvantage in Bitcoin accumulation. Satoshi is a genius all thanks to him/them for the idea of using limited supply as one of the influencers of the price of Bitcoin.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is right time for investment ? on: December 19, 2023, 12:18:19 PM
if you know the project and has the funds? then no one or nothing can hinder you from
investing just make sure that you will only use the amount that you can manage to risk and lose and
not the funds your family will be needing any time soon. specially that we are nearing Christmas and
yeah you will be needing more money to spend and to enjoy this merry and covid free occasion.

Actually I am not a fan of altcoins, and above all, I don't follow after trend nor what the media has to say concerning a coin in the crypto market. No matter the percentage of increase a coin experiences I don't give a fuck, I'm always satisfied with the profits I get from my Bitcoin holding. When we talk about risk, yeah all crypto investment are risky but Bitcoin is less risky compared to other altcoins especially meme coins, scam projects are all over the crypto market and they might even be very difficult to identify, even the ones we tought were legit still turns out to be scam. So to be on the safer side, I'll just stick with my Bitcoin.
1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling all about luck? on: December 19, 2023, 12:06:27 PM

I'd say, only good luck would be enough. Smiley Your knowledge and analysis is nothing when luck is not on your side. But let's be realistic, no one can be lucky all the time. And then we see that in reality all the other factors start playing a role. But then again. as every gambler knows, you can do everything backwards and with the help of good luck you can win still.

Luck is the best explanation for a gamblers wins, especially when gambling on virtual games or games that deal with random AI generated numbers. Those games are all about lucks, but when we talk about sport betting, most wins are fueled by the knowledge of the gambler towards his selected games. One can have full confidence on the outcome of a selected match and bet towards it. Indeed there is a room for knowledge when talking about gambling wins.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: December 19, 2023, 11:55:39 AM
The gambling people who was married will get additional pressure from their family reflated financial problems. So how he play the peaceful game in the gambling site with the financial problems from their family, the gamblers may not have the money for the future gambling.Because of the financial problems in their families,if the gamblers had the children he need to allot some money for the children education expenses. As we know the education fee for the children was high for now,So the gamblers should spend the money from his salary for their education too.The term fee for two or more children in his family will leads to the gambler to spend fifty percentage of his income. Then how he have dollars to play the gambling game, this may leads to complete exit from the game.
Pressure from the family might help gambling addicts to quit gambling. The family is indeed very appropriate to help a gambling addict gradually get out of the fun that drains their family's finances.
is a bad choice when we have financial problems in the family but still gamble. instead of wanting to make money from gambling, I don't like people who consider gambling as a place to earn income. unless you are a casino platform developer.

I have seen several cases of gamblers who ended up reducing their activities or even temporarily stopping gambling because of their financial problems. but the important role of the family is indeed the main driver for gamblers to change. situations may vary.

Yeah, you're correct mate, pressure from family members can help an addicted gambler to quite gambling but, it will take some time and enough effort for om the family members, at first the gambler might even show less concern about their advice and pressure but I believe with the time he'll realize himself. Though there are still some gamblers out there that family pressure, love nor advise from family members could change their decision about gambling. Besides, gambling addiction doesn't literally mean a gambler who is prone to loses, a gambling addict can even make huge wins that has been his reason for becoming a gamble addict.
1037  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [ECONOMICS] Which Way Nigeria? on: December 19, 2023, 10:18:02 AM
Which way Nigeria no be the major thing to ask, but the main thing to ask nah which way our president, why I talk like this be say this our country get everything both oil, gas and some kind of chemicals way I no fit even make mention of them, but na our leaders dem nai dey spoil this country because only them won pack all the money and better better opportunities them dey they this country for them selfs and their families along.
So I dey try to talk say this country no be the issue but nah the leaders inside the country be the issue. For example, just assume say this country nai motor and driver dey, dey drive us and the driver dey drive us dey go we're we no know, even say we dey talk self them no dey hear, so my brother, just hustle your hustle as long as say no body worry no body, one day e go better.
This our country no poor at all, even as say we dey talk say we no get money self, at least 1 or 2 dey account and we still dey find more, so this country no poor at all, if you think say nah our own worst pass make you enter google, then search for the top 10 poorest county in the world, then you go know say Nigeria is fucking reach bro, but our bad politicians them just spoil everything and even as that self we are what we are.

Normally as we dey talk about this country the main people wey we dey refer to na our leaders wey nor dey try, and just as u talk our contri no poor at all, na just stingyness and wicked heart of man naim make am be like say we poor, apart from crude oil this contri get other natural resources, and many of Dem na for the northern part of the contri e dey. Sotay some of the government for that side come dey illegally mine our natural resources come dey go sell, no be thief be that ? Sometin wey Dem go do make e benefit everybody Dem wan keep am to Dem self, and Dem go come the south follow us share our oil money for the entire country and if any body do illegal local reffinary ( bunkry) Dem go arrest am come burn em pots to, but Dem go dey their side they thief wattin no good.
1038  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reason we must do more to be earning in dollars on: December 19, 2023, 09:34:55 AM
My brother this inflation matter no be small oo, I fit even bet you say people wey dey earn in dollar sef dey complain for this same inflation, because as dollar increase na so price of things just dey increase anyhow even things wey we dey produce for we country locally sef dey increase price anyhow. And if e nor take time weda you dey earn in dollar sef, the money no go still reach you because Dem no go increase your salary na only the dollar to naira rate naim just dey increase. Above all wattin I mean na be say as dollar dey increase na so price still take dey increase respectively, so nothing change, just that person wey dey earn in dollar go complain less than person wey dey earn in naira. Fact be say complain must still dey, no get me wrong dollar better pass naira like this oo.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is right time for investment ? on: December 19, 2023, 09:20:45 AM
You're trying to say risk comes with luck, no doubt sometimes people get lucky in the game and that's good to hear but now the problem I observe about people asking questions like this they just don't want to take the risk they prefer going to the process with full assurance that's why a lot of people find it difficult to make their research, from my observation new project always comes with risk and investors who make research and decide to join the trend they actually know what they're doing sometimes it doesn't come with luck, success in new project just determine how far the investor has gone in making research and taking risk. Secondly it's advisable to invest what you can afford to lose mostly in new project that has not gain trust but has been trending, even project that has gain trust it's best to invest what you can afford.

Indeed trends are good but are also associated with risk higher that than of a project with reputation, trend can also be one the targets for scammers to come to play. Those investors without proper research before diving into trend are just messing around with their money and are no different from gamblers, it's better to gain knowledge before approaching and coin for investment than to have regrets later. Even after research and study, a coin believed is legit can still turn out to be a scam project. So yes most risk come with luck.
1040  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Continue to accumulate Bitcoin, till bull run or take break and enjoy Christmas on: December 19, 2023, 08:22:32 AM
Brother you know say a typical Nigerian wey we be, we no go fit forgo enjoyment season just like that, and besides if you don dy accumulate btc since January through the DCA method, den you have nothing to worry about, because in as much as we fit recover money, we no go fit recover time, so for me,  even though I know say I go still allocate some of my salary to get more Bitcoin, I already get budget plan of how I spend money monthly, I no go alter that DCA money, but I go do some changes to some, to create more room for the celebration.I no go forget Christmas celebration because you no go fit recover time back, but all in all, I go spend wisely.

My brother you don talk well, na the best answer wey dey for this kind of question be this. First of all Bitcoin holding and accumulation na to use am take do something for your life, no be say we just dey accumulate blindly when our holding nor get purpose, person wey don dey accumulate for long wey don dey into the system supposed know how em go take package this seasonal celebration wey no go affect em holding. The ideas of using DCA na because of make your Bitcoin accumulation no affect your normal sending, and aside Bitcoin holding person supposed to get savings wey e go take they package himself.

But person wey never dey into the system for long, make e nor go carry all em investment take chop Christmas oo,
