If you provide them with the means to convert to fiat, this is actually a good idea - it will teach delayed gratification for a potentially greater reward.

However, if your 16-year old son likes the idea of Silk Road it might not work as planned!  Grin

Without a doubt!

Have a look at this chart:

Congrats on this release, I want some and I support this.

I did not invent "Vires in Numeris" I copied it too

Coincidentally my half ounce bitcoins are in as well. I will be listing them shortly.

Do you ship to europe???

maybe consider selling 100 coins at once to a European reseller (molecular f.e.)
The customs, VaT and shipping will otherwise be very high for induvidual orders...

I will consider doing this.

if you do this please make sure the price mark up is not huge !
I have offered to re-ship from the UK and wouldn't charge a huge mark-up.

Though personally I wouldn't send to resellers with this first batch - I think they will be special enough for people to not mind the slight postage/VAT premium.

Your honest view?  Smiley
Yes, as someone who will hopefully buy some of the first batch - I am more than happy to pay the premium; there is enough demand on this thread to justify the cost.

As someone who would like to resell - I would be happy to wait for future batches where there is increased volume.

I have no doubt that the demand for these is huge.

Let's try to stop the FUD.

I will bet 1 BTC that they are not running away, anyone want to take me up on this?
1032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: ► ► ► LEALANA PHYSICAL SILVER LITECOINS [pre sale ANNOUNCEMENT] on: June 26, 2013, 05:47:00 PM
I would be against the idea of selling these in bulk - at least to start with.

The more widely you can spread these coins the better for all concerned - for you due to higher future orders, for Litecoin for the increased exposure and for the community here who all seem to want to make a purchase.

Selling in smaller orders will be more work for you regarding postage, but you can make sure this isn't a financial burden and it will pay off in the long run IMO.
1033  Other / Meta / Re: forum policy on LTC, Ripple and other crypto currencies? question to mods on: June 26, 2013, 05:37:07 PM
This is like wanting a soccer-board to have a subforum on American Football "because that exists too".
It more like a soccer-board that helped develop a new variant of soccer having a sub-forum for 'soccer-lite'.

Btc-e down?
Yes, it is for me.

Will be up in no time, I am sure.

I wish I could pre-order a couple!

My main reason for not taking preorders is that I don't want to repeat the same mistakes some previous crypto businesses have done in the past.

This way I can sell a product I have 100% completed before taking anyones LTC or BTC.  Smiley
Doh, somehow I didn't realise it was you that started this thread - good luck with the venture!

That is a good reason for not wanting to take pre-orders...

Maybe you can just save me a couple then Wink

1037  Other / Meta / Re: Can bitcointalk.org get 2 factor authentication? on: June 25, 2013, 05:26:25 PM
Yes, please - why not use some of the forum's wealth to enable 2FA via SMS?
1038  Other / Meta / Re: forum policy on LTC, Ripple and other crypto currencies? question to mods on: June 25, 2013, 05:23:56 PM
No, but you'll have people literally selling coins that were made earlier. Take a look at BTCTalkAccounts and what he is doing.

"Selling Terracoin! Qualifies for a subforum so you can easily pump'n'dump!"
Let's ignore these details - if we could agree on a system to add/remove alt-cryptocurrency sub-forums, what would be the harm of introducing them?
1039  Other / Meta / Re: forum policy on LTC, Ripple and other crypto currencies? question to mods on: June 25, 2013, 04:18:55 PM
Certain criteria cannot be agreed. You need to understand that whatever criteria there is, it will encourage certain kinds of behavior.

Age?
Simple, people will rush to announce as much coins as earliest they can, leading to buggy and crashing code.

Hashpower?
Coin will be focused on early mining to push it over whatever criteria was set. Early adopter's heaven.

Oh and this is forgetting coins without mining won't ever get a board? What about pure PoS coins? What about ripple? what about proof of movement coins?
I don't really want to get into how difficult or otherwise it is to set the criteria for alt-coin sub-forums, as I don't think this is the reason  people are being hostile towards the idea.

But, coin age would be a very easy one - I can't imagine loads of people rushing to release coins in the expectation that they might get a sub-forum one or two years later.
1040  Other / Meta / Re: forum policy on LTC, Ripple and other crypto currencies? question to mods on: June 25, 2013, 03:53:16 PM
We already have 'Alternate cryptocurrencies' - people seem to be making out it's a huge leap to add a sub-forum for Litecoin or any other currency that warrants it. It's really not.
It is actually, because it's an official endorsement unless there are 400 subforums added for any coin.

In a community this size, especially a religious one with people being fanboys of their favorite cryptocoin they were early adopters of, you will piss people off if you set a criteria. The better solution would be to not set it in the first place, and again, this is bitcointalk, not cryptocurrencytalk.
By that logic, having 'Alternate cryptocurrencies' is already an endorsement.

Would you like to see the subforum removed completely since, as you say, "this is bitcointalk, not cryptocurrencytalk"?

The altcoin fourm is a compromise much like "off topic" is.  Really neither is necessary however without them some people simply don't follow the rules and that makes the jobs of the mods difficult.
So there is demand from members of this forum to talk about alt-currencies.

You frame it as off-topic discussion, but is it really?

This forum introduced me to all of the alt-currencies I know of; I didn't find out about them any other way.

If certain criteria can be agreed, what harm is there in adding a sub-forum for leading alt-coins?
