1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 23, 2020, 02:45:08 AM
For those Filipino poster here.

I quick news for us: NBA bubble games will be air on cable channel One Sports during weekdays and on free tv via TV5 during weekends.

https://twitter.com/alderalmo/status/1285842781559234560

Not officially, but tommorow would be the announcement.

Since ABS' shutdown, I am just waiting for this.

I've been waiting for some announcements in One Sports, did I miss it? Though that would might not be the complete games since they just show picked games and the other are not on air. I guess I'll just wait for the lives in YouTube and other sites.

Even if Zion completes that 8 game tournament it will be Ja Morant.
If Zion wins, NBA just proved there is deep politics in the damn management.
There is nothing to consider anymore or if they do, they will lose a lot of fans.
Fairness is still better than just making money.
Ja worked hard for it putting the Grizzlies in the 8th rank.

Completely agree here but before that, let's enjoy the sports we really missed.
1022  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: July 23, 2020, 01:22:54 AM
In the present age, it is not possible to do anything without banks. Everything has been updated a lot to the beat of the era. But now many banking systems have been introduced in the villages as well. Maybe except for some remote areas. However, for those of us who work or are students, everything is done through banks.
In my opinion, the banking system is a part of our lives.

This depends on how wealthy your country is.

In our country, despite a lot of people actually getting their salaries from the banks, there are also a lot of people that actually doesn't use the function of banks. But let's be real, this will be developed in the future and I think even the lowest salary being paid might be also sent through banks.
1023  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we rely on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency? on: July 22, 2020, 11:54:45 AM
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are very good for easy money making Bitcoin is very helpful in improving the economy of a good country but it is not right to be completely dependent on it because crypto market is not stable. One of the disadvantages of this is that if for some reason the transaction becomes incomplete there is no way to get the money back even if the recipient does not get that service If the Bitcoin wallet is lost or damaged it cannot be recovered Bitcoin as a medium of exchange is not at all stable For this you need to have the skills of crypto as well as other sites.

I do agree that Bitcoin shouldn't be our source of income since it is really undependable

This is an over-generalization, and an erroneous one at that

The blockchain space has already become a single source of income for thousands of people across the world. But let me guess, you refer to a signature campaign as an unreliable source of sustenance and livelihood, or any other odd job here or elsewhere. If so, then I would definitely agree with you. However, Bitcoin is not just about signature campaigns on the forum, nor the forum is the only place where Bitcoin is valued

Im not even thinking about the btc we got from sig. camps.

Since the OP talked about the pandemic, that also means people who just invested in cryptocurrencies thinking that it might give them sustenance without a job. The price will not always go up since we all know that it is just a speculative asset. I mean just imagine an individual without a job investing in Bitcoin and have his profit from it use to sustain himself, thats what im trying to say.
1024  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Twitter Accounts Hacked & Used to Scam People on: July 22, 2020, 09:55:45 AM
He is known to be a huge Youtuber and known for donating huge amount to streamers and do other stuffs that usually tell people how much money he has. People would really fall for this especially those people that know MrBeasts since its his nature to be that kind of guy. Twitter should really improve their security and I hope that no one fell for this.

Yeah, this guy is a bit different among the list of those who get hacked, he's more of a generous guy. However, I don't think Mr.Beast would ask you to donate first before giving you back. Besides, what's the sudden interest to crypto though? He's mostly known for giving away cash.

It is a shared post on Facebook and I realized it was days ago, sorry about that.

Anyways, I saw some reddit post in the past saying MrBeast actually gelot some profits out of Bitcoin and maybe other cryptocurrencies although it is said that the video is taken down.

1026  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is based on probability. on: July 22, 2020, 06:14:47 AM
Not believing this is the reason why many traders still fall in the hands of all this scammers selling trading signals, nobody can say precisely what the market will look like each day, everybody is just gambling as nobody have power to change nor modify the market.

It is not gambling, it is the risk they are taking.

This market is unpredictable and volatile, obviously people would not know what will happen but that is where the probability comes in. People actually look into the marker changes and look for indicators where it can show the probability of having a bull run or the opposite. Again, they are taking the risk, gambling usually hold unto luck while trading and investment hold unto skill, knowledge and patience

There seems to be a misunderstanding here

Which is to say, luck has everything to do with probabilities. In fact, it is all about probabilities and nothing else. When you toss a coin, your chances are fifty-fifty. It is either heads or tails. In dice, the odds can be any. Therefore, when you start talking about a probability of a bull run or a bear attack, you get into the same context (i.e. the probabilistic one) in which gambling operates. Indeed, there's a difference between trading and gambling, but it lies elsewhere, not in the realm of probabilities. Just two of my cents

I agree but what I am saying is this.

When you toss a coin, obviously the that is a 50-50 sovyou can just pick any of it but when it comes to a market that is not always 50-50, you would obviously go to the higher possibility. That is why I am talking about indicators. When it indicates a bull run, obviously you will be siding with the bull run since it has the higher possibility. That is not luck, but you based your money into siding with higher probability and it still can't happen since it is just a probability, there is still a risk in it.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need bitcoin? on: July 22, 2020, 04:16:06 AM
Yes of course, especially during this pandemic bitcoin helps us a lot by transacting through online that we no longer need to leave the house, and nowadays it is safer to use digital currency compared to fiat. Not everyone believes in the ability of bitcoin but i'm sure that due to it's continued development over the time more people will likely to use it.

It is great that you have that point of view but not all of us are like that.

There are those that look at Bitcoin as a specuoative asset, something that would give them profit ina period of time. They will not be using Bitcoin since they are thinking the profit in the near future. We need it for the purpose of having a profit. Either way, people usually use digital wallets or mobile payments rather than Bitcoin.
1028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we need bitcoin? on: July 22, 2020, 03:23:48 AM
IMO, this doesn't need to be asked.

Especially these days when we are in a pandemic, what people need is to sustain themselves and find a way to earn money without risking their lives outside. We don't even need to relate anonimity with this since there are people that are not interested with it. Most of the people I asked said that it is because related or connected to scam.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 22, 2020, 01:28:15 AM
Anyway, here is the full roster for the season restart.
https://www.nba.com/article/2020/07/20/nba-announces-teamrosters-season-restart-orlando

~snip

So amazing how Harden and Westbrook can immediately go back after being positive last week.

Hope for their best against Orlando in the coming days. This is really hyping me up. On the other hand, Zion is given his space for an "urgent family medical emergency". The article also said that he might still be able to play on the last 6 games of the team. Since we are talking about Ja and Zion for the ROTY, does this really means Ja?
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 21, 2020, 11:07:18 AM
If I'm not mistaken Sen. Manny won't allow it, He's against this that's why he left PBA knowing the mafias who's working behind the league.
Though there's nothing being proven until now, but the rumors is just around, MPBL commissioners and owners are very strict regarding to
sports betting.

That is a something I never knew.

As far as I know Sen. Manny love Basketball as much as Boxing. Making him leave PBA means there really is something happening behind all of the games we are seeing. In terms of MPBL, as far as I know they are really strict with it. Maybe this regards to arranged games that is happening in the past.

You guys didn't quote the game fixing news, or link.

Anyway, all sports organizers are against game fixing, but they cannot eliminate the doubt of the people especially the bettors when they see some unusual calls in the court that would result to losing their bet, that is not new actually as even in major and popular sports like the NBA, game fixing theory still exist.

if you are not yet familiar with Tim Donaghy, you can watch this video.

How NBA referee Tim Donaghy fixed games – ESPN investigation | Outside the Lines

Sorry about that.

This is the link. This just happened recently and this obviously relates someone over betting into the team and let the other wins. I know this is not something that is new but knowing that this is happening within the country makes me wonder how much more games are being fixed. That is why it is a great decision for MPBL to be strict with betting.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 21, 2020, 08:50:04 AM
Of course, PBA players are more talented as they are paid bigger, some PBA got a contract in the MPBL because they are not signed again in the PBA.
I think it is the right way to say that a talented players will more likely to get higher pay than those that are not. Usually this is why some good players trained hard to get higher pay. Some are to become a superstar in basketball and others think that it is their passion and had been love doing it.  Well I am a little bit happy that PBA now has made some good news in the upcoming events in regards to PBA.

Having this kind of platform is a good thing because if not selected in one of them gives chance to show the talent and skill when selected in MPBL. This helps them to continue to work hard in order so that in future they can be selected by PBA. The motivation still exists because the final target for them must be among the best and perform the best and automatically money will follow them.

Maybe I should also create a thread for MPBL? Looks like we have a lot of fans here, however, I am not seeing MPBL betting odds in sportsbet and other sportsbook that I am actively using, so I think it wouldn't be interesting following the game if we are not betting on it.

If I'm not mistaken Sen. Manny won't allow it, He's against this that's why he left PBA knowing the mafias who's working behind the league.

1032  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: July 19, 2020, 12:04:54 PM
At first for now if you don't have enough money for rent your real life then shouldn't spend cash by anyway. Basically i have no jobs because in lockdown so crypto last enough try for getting some money. If i do loss money at this time then i haven't no way for recover it.

Here in oir country, most of the owners of these boarding houses or rooms for rent did not charge their clients for some months now.

Some are even giving food and donations to those clients since most of them doesn't have jobs right now. Their families are just sending them money to survive the lockdown that is why these kind of owners are really amazing. Hope that is the same in your country or your place. You can't rely on cryptocurrencies, it is time for you to find a way to have a dependable source of income.
1033  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic situation declining and famous celebs not paying workers on: July 19, 2020, 11:42:49 AM
Poor workers.

They can't just do their jobs in this pandemic but that doesn't mean that they should not be paying their workers since it is their way of helping people in this hard times. Also, as far as I know he donated millions to fight covid19, but she can't pay her workers?

Brands would be brands. As celebs continue to buy and use it, fans and other people would do the same.

Mcafee crazy guy Cheesy

You almost guessed it.

Just a bit differance with your guess like 491.000 dollars but ok its acceptable now do your thing Cheesy

It is already said that he backed out from it.

It is funny but I think that is kind of a dick move right there. Let's say he's right and this happened, he would be sticking his head into his social media account saying to our faces he knew it. Still, hoping he eat himself since he's a dick.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you knew Huobi's private key? on: July 19, 2020, 10:58:06 AM
My friend also asked me a question close to this and its funny since he answered it himself,  he said that it is a dillema.

I ask him how is this a dillema? He answered that knowing the consequences of what will happen, you are also considering the good possibilities of what can happen to you. Either you tell it to the owner, you rob all of it and that also means robbing the people's money or just take out small parts of it for you to use it.

For me, you have a choice but it is not a dillema since you already know the key and doing nothing or telling them you know it is the best thing to do rather than stealing people's hard work.
1036  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we headed for 250k btc in 12-18 months? on: July 19, 2020, 10:32:07 AM

None can assure about the price of bitcoin. Everything is based on the past time growth as well as the good news happening around the globe relative to the cryptocurrency market. Over the next 12-18 months there will be higher and higher level of demand for cryptocurrencies and particularly bitcoin. Upon the same there'll be growth. At the same time reach $250k or above value isn't easy in the mentioned 12-18months time.

Even if there is continuous demand now that we are in pandemic and we need a digital currency  I don't think it will reach the $250 k level, I do like the progress of the price since we have a big dump when the pandemic started, we are moving slowly and the price is very stable right now, we have to wait patiently for things to get better better we think of numbers.

I think it is not that bad to predict though.

The pandemic did not actually brought a huge imoact in the price of Bitcoin. The dump might be coincidental with the pandemic and the scammers dumping Bitcoin. I think we are doing well for a certain period in this pandemic since the price is moving well and more investors and traders are going in with it.
1037  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would you buy/use Bitcoin if you knew its price would not reach a new ATH? on: July 19, 2020, 09:41:59 AM
I think so.

Since people would start to spend Bitcoin left and right, I think that would also affect the price. That just means Bitcoin would be more liquid and I think that would also mean that in the long run, it would reach another ATH. It is still decentralized so it can still affect the price with that. Either way, I will still use my Bitcoin since it is not that the ATH matters, it is the convinience I'm having using it.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life soundtrack for Gamblers? on: July 19, 2020, 09:21:28 AM
well indeed the song that is performed at the casino can provide emotional influence and mental condition of humans, therefore the casino can provide music facilities in the room so that casino players can be more relaxed when being active at the casino and in my opinion, classic and EDM is a genre that right.

Not all of the gamblers would be going with thay genre though.

EDM is good for those that love it but also, there are some gamblers that love classic and hate the new genres. I guess we should just stick depending on whose the major gamblers of your casino. Maybe having some questions about it would make you clear which genre would you aim for.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 19, 2020, 08:29:22 AM
less i know eposrts are fixed lots so stupid to bet on lesser know ones, cs,lol, and dota are really only stable ones

If you think they are fixed better stick to these 3 games.

A lot of people are betting on it and a lot of tournaments are lined up on that games. I am waiting for OGA Dota Pit S2. It have a good pot and a lot of great teams directly invited in the tournament.
1040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: July 19, 2020, 04:42:55 AM
It really can't stop the NBA from reopening. I'm sure even my son is excited to watch his favorite sport on TV again. He has something else to focus on besides playing mobile games. Yes, we will admit that the risks will not be lost due to the virus, but the organizers will not allow that as long as they follow the protocols and no ordinance will be violated. Maybe my son can help guess which team will win the match.

How about the new carriers within the NBA?

It is said that Westbrook and Harden tested positive for the virus? Will they be able to play? I mean I don't think the teams would be accepting to play if one of their star players have the virus and can't play.

not really sure, I think they have to rest for some time, they also have to test negative for a few times for them to be covid free. It wasn't really that safe cause there are people who are covid free but got reinfected again. So it wasn't really that safe for me... not to discriminate but I'm sure some players wasn't really that comfortable with them playing if they are tested positive just recently.

Yeah, that is what I want to point out.

I really wanted the season to continue, that is why I am so happy when I heard they will resume it but the problem is this. Not just because they can't play but this can affect the results of the continuation of this season. Another thing is that they are still at risk. I think they will be limiting the players and just chose the safe ones.

This is just messed up. If they really continue the season, I think this is a gamble for them. I hope they are just fine.

Everyone is gamble at this point of our life, but the NBA made all the measures to ensure that virus will not spread in the venue.
Of course, those players that are positive with covid-19, they need to recover first before they can come back to play, and the organization already has the rules and guidelines for that.

They resume for the fans, for them, and for the economy, that's the reasons, so let's support them.

I do support them, it is just that it keeps me worrying since  it is a risk but still, I do agree that they do this not just for themselves but also for the people.

It is not just the players though, they will be going to places and that is another thing to worry but I guess you are right, they might be able to handle it. The question though is how would these places earn without the fans watching? I think if they will be following some measure to take care of their players they will not allow fans to watch the game.
