1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old? on: December 04, 2017, 10:40:52 PM
What would you guys advise someone who is retired, living off pension and savings? Is it too late/risky to invest at that kind of age?
Do you guys think the elderly have a chance of jumping on the crypto train, or do you guys think it's too late for them to invest?

To me a person in that situation cannot take any risks, and if he did not invest in his youth then it is too late to do it now, you are supposed to invest during all your life, while bitcoin was not around 20 or 30 years ago that person could have invested in Microsoft, Apple, Google, or Amazon.

Airdrop is a signature campaign, since you need to wear the signature to receive the airdrop.

What to think?
At the surface it looks nice and all of that, but deeponion has a big problem it has distributed most of its coins to people wearing the signature so when all those people receive their payments they are going dump their coins and as such there is a big chance those that decide to hold will lose the most since the coins will be very cheap in the market.
1023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CSNO (bitdice) - Speculation on: December 04, 2017, 10:31:00 PM
Bitdice seems very strong. It is only in HitBtc at the moment, but it will be listed on other exchanges like Cryptopia soon. they will distribute revenue every 4 months and they have an ongoing business already.

I dont expect it will go to moon but it will be a very good long term token that can be hold.
Correct, it is a good token for the long term, especially since they are going to make new games and are going to include according to the white paper sports bets and to me that is going to increase the revenue of the casino and increase the profits of the holders of the token.
1024  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: December 04, 2017, 10:14:26 PM
What if somebody will make a huge dump and sell it all the way to earn some profits because of this rally in bitcoin, and someone sees it and do that same thing. Is there any effect on bitcoin when someone to this,?

It only  happen wheb every where and its triggered people to sell their bitcoin as they don't want to see that they can not make a big money. i think its funny because we see that before the price is raise into $1xxx, the price is too slow to increase, but for the down price,
if most users with a lot of bitcoins in their wallets then do the same thing as selling their bitcoin out of panic will certainly have an effect on the bitcoin market. maybe bitcoin prices could go down a few percent because of their act? yeah it happens because they can not be patient and do not see the potential possessed bitcoin in the future. assume a few years ago people knew that bitcoin could reach $10k of course they would not panic and sell their bitcoin
Let those people panic on their own because that is better to have a market that there will be lesser amount of people that will do panic selling because as of now, the price of bitcoin is not yet stable because the people are hesitating for bitcoin to hold it for long term or not. If we will see another wave of panic selling then i will be happy to grab those cheap bitcoins and add them into my long term holdings.
I do not see anything wrong with panic sellers while they are losing money by not holding their coins for long enough the rest of us is there to grab cheap coins along the way, so if it was not for them many people in the forum will be unable to make profits while trading.
1025  Economy / Economics / Re: Generating Passive Income on: December 04, 2017, 10:11:17 PM
Passive income would be something which can get us money sufficient to fulfil our needs and something is leftover after that and we can save that one in our deposits. This can be achieved with some hard and smart work in the crypto land for sure. There are so many ways around the forum itself, for example you can do the signature campaigns and wooly your skill sets at different ICO project to get paid. That is also great way to start as passive income. I am happy with the forum earnings and I see it as my passive income source.

There are many more ways like trading, gambling and playing games !! But one must know where they can take the risks and which ways is more suitable for them so that they can actually generate the revenue and not get in loss all the time.
This is incorrect passive money is money you get by doing nothing, that is it, it does not need to be enough to fulfill your needs, if you get a dollar a month for doing nothing then that is passive income even if it is obvious that a dollar is not going to be enough to pay for your bills.

1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Diamond BCD - will this match up to BCH/BTG in value? on: December 02, 2017, 11:51:23 PM
Am just hearing this for the first time and bitcoin diamond may make significant progress. Bitcoin Cash is actually performing very well now and in some years to come it might be competing with bitcoin core. Bitcoin diamond which seeing to be another hardfork in days to come may replace bitcoin gold which was suspend last time.  Yobit will make people profit since bitcoin diamond has been listed on the platform already and you can trade it with others coins.
Bitcoin cash is no competition to bitcoin, no one is using it, it does no matter what they say about their network bitcoin is better, what it happens is that we still do not have the most important part of the scaling solution activated yet, the lightning network and that is not going to happen until the next year.
1028  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: December 02, 2017, 11:42:56 PM
It would be much more popular or at least, much more used. Bitcoin is barely used to do day to day transactions like you would with regular currencies which is a shame. People treat it like an asset instead of a currency. In the future cryptos will be stable enough to spend them as currencies. That will only happen when people stop looking at them and comparing them to other currencies. When you buy coffee with euros you don't ask how much that is in dollars because you don't care about the value of euros compared to dollars. It should be the same with bitcoins or cryptos in general.
But it is useless to imagine such an scenario it is obvious that a new currency is going to be unstable especially since it is something completely different than all the other currencies of the world, instability was going to happen whether we like it or not, what we must figure out is how to protect us from the instability and people have done so by holding for the long term.
1029  Economy / Economics / Re: Alt coin price manipulation is much easier than with BTC on: December 02, 2017, 11:38:26 PM
With the top 10 alt coins not that easy, but for alt coins with 100MM and below market cap, that is what is always happening.
Until cryptos are fully regulated, this kind of behavior will not stop.
Even if altcoins become regulated this is something that is going to keep happening if those kind of things happen in wall street where it is outlawed and governments have a greater control of the participants of the market then it is going to be impossible to avoid those practices in crypto.
1030  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be international currency on: December 02, 2017, 11:36:13 PM
Many problems that bitcoin must solve, for example is the speed of the transaction, the cost is cheap and so on. to become an international currency of course bitcoin must have a great transaction speed because the circulation will be very high.
Let's see if the lightning network can take care of those issues if that is in fact the case then bitcoin is going to be adopted very quickly since it will have all the necessary things for people to use, it will be fast, cheap, and easy to use, at that point we will see the beginning of the adoption by the general population.
1031  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: December 02, 2017, 11:33:55 PM
The best time is invest in cryptocurrency is... wait for it... wait... NOW! Obviously!

Why would you wait until next year, or the year after to take advantage of this gold rush? You need to buy crypto NOW, not tomorrow even. You should hurry up because each day BTC value goes up and you can only buy less and less.
This is what many people are not realizing, every day they wait it is another day in which they are not earning money with bitcoin, it is as if they are waiting for the price of bitcoin to go back to just a few hundred dollars and even at that point they are not going to buy since they will afraid bitcoin could go even lower.
1032  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin UP BitCoinCash DOWN on: December 02, 2017, 04:03:35 AM
I wasn't even sure why bitcoin cash was up so much around a week ago, it just seeme really abnormal for a coin which is essentially just a fork of bitcoin to get to nearly half of bitcoin's value, without any major implementation in actual business transactions. Now that that short term pump is out of the way, bitcoin has obviously recovered and made a new all time high while BCH is now making not much news.

These two coins are still going much in opposite directions of each other. And i think we'll see that continue to be the case.

Its because that's its purpose. These bitcoin clones are created for the sake of pumping and dumping purposes so its nothing unusual (for me). To add on, I think people who've watched the market knows that if theres an abnormal price hike there will be a dump after and its definitely doesn't mean that it'll be the "new future" or something exaggeratedly similar. Some people are just too dumb to fall for those hype's.

There's nothing concrete but as long as the whales are profiting from this pumping and dumpings schemes there will be more to come. And that also applies on BCH
People are gullible they are always thinking that this time it is going to be different and things like that when anyone that takes the time to study the history of economic bubbles knows this is the end result, bitcoin in fact is not immune to this, the 2013 crash was a bubble a well.
1033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Altcoins really have a future? on: December 02, 2017, 04:00:55 AM
Actually they are have a future, altcoin is the best second to invest some money. But not all altcoin have a future if you looking right now there is many altcoin who have no value or even neglected.
At the end it depends on the altcoin, there are many altcoins in which I do not think it is worth to invest any money, but there are also many other altcoins that are good projects and that you should invest part of your money and add to your portfolio.
1034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Please recommend me 1 best Altcoin to buy on: December 02, 2017, 03:58:21 AM
you must buy bitcoin cash, because bitcoin cash has the highest price when compared to other altcoins today. bitcoin cash has started up high trying to match the bitcoin.
Bitcoin cash is not very good choice, Ethereum was better than it. bitcoin cash will never match the bitcoin. even the bitcoin cash can't surpass ethereum. And if ethereum will become the staking coin and it will never be happened. Bitcoin cash just another centralized coin that controlled by bitmain.  Roll Eyes
Bitcoin cash is trying to replace bitcoin but I think it is very clear to most people around the forum that it is not going to happen, besides the huge blocks are a problem since that is going probably to reduce the amount of nodes and that is an issue if we want bitcoin to be decentralized.
1035  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: December 02, 2017, 03:53:29 AM
my estimation, why individuals scam because they are feel it work easy and get earn money rapidly although have large risk. other than that, era modern now people challenging have a job and individuals not want give some money for the bad.
Also one of the issues is that bitcoin is like the wild west there are almost no rules if someone gets scammed a lot of money the authorities are not going to do anything to help you and you cannot get your money back so scammers love to use cryptocurrencies to scam people.
1036  Economy / Economics / Re: Chicago Future CME will be good? (maybe bad) on: November 30, 2017, 04:44:09 AM
At first I thought this will be a very good thing for bitcoin without any negative result. But upon reading all of your points on this thing I'm having some doubts now. My weak hands starts to trigger again, LOL. Let's be positive on this thing and though it is not yet on the run we have to see it first and experience if it will be good or maybe bad. I'm still expecting this will give the real moon.
Do not get scared, we must avoid being manipulated by those big shots, I'm sure we are going to enter a moment in the life of bitcoin where it is going to become even more unstable, they are going to create bubbles and then they are going to crash the price and our only defense against that is to hold our bitcoin and to not sell under any circumstances.
1037  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is like heroin on: November 30, 2017, 04:40:33 AM
Just like heroin or crack cocaine, it creates an addiction.

Same as was gambling

Many in here seem to have been caught up in it, spending far too much of their money on something. Partially to get the dopamine rush of buying more coin, and partially to satisfy their gambling lust hoping to score big.

It is no different than the people gambling their savings away on the roulette. Right now we are at the point where they have entered the casino and have been lucky, so they are up more money than they came. But instead of quitting while they are ahead they genuinely believe that their luck continues.

In the end it ends bad.
You got it all wrong those type of drugs only do damage to your organism, while if bitcoin is done correctly it will only be beneficial for you, you are reading too much into this, bitcoin is just a currency, I do not get any kind of thrill by holding bitcoin at all.
If anything bitcoin should be compared to is gambling, having bitcoin and saving it is like gambling because you always want to keep saving and keep on greeding each time you see the price of the bitcoin going up, and always there is just a bit more, until some day the price might fall and lose, the addiction that is tied to bitcoin is nothing compared to the addiction of gambling or drugs because, you are not hurting anyone or you are not losing anything, it is just there if you are lucky you will get more profit as long as you have it.
I disagree, bitcoin is just an investment, an exotic investment, since many people when they think of investments they think about stocks and bonds or real estate but bitcoin can be one of the most effective ways to invest if you just hold but many people decide to not listen to that advice since they think they can outsmart the market.
1038  Economy / Economics / Re: Make money from money on: November 30, 2017, 04:37:46 AM
What are the features that a good investor should have? What are the characteristics of people who have enough capital and earn money from money?

What are the factors that make these people successful in their investments?
To become an investor first you need spare money, and that is something many people around the world do not have, they spend every single cent they get and even more when they spend on credit, so first become a saver and not a consumer and you may have a chance of making money with your investments.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash is the future IMO on: November 30, 2017, 04:35:14 AM
Bitcoin has scaling solutions in development, the question is if those solutions will be successful and put to practice before before give up on the coin and flock towards cheaper and faster alternatives.

There is still time, but not as much as there used to be.
There is still lot of time, it is not like any of those other coins has any chance at all, bitcoin is still the dominant coin, even with bitcoin as slow and expensive as it is now people are not moving out of bitcoin to get alts what does that tells you, once bitcoin is able to manage many transactions thanks to the lightning network is game over for any altcoin trying to take bitcoin place.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to stop ICO ? on: November 27, 2017, 10:59:27 PM
This is a free market and selfregulatory. So everyone is free to make and advertise theyre project. It is the users job to give a chance to those who are legit and to sanction the others. I think that with time , if the ico market keeps it this way, users will stop invest in ico`s and the old one will start to dissapear. There is a big need for a cleaning as many tokens  that dont belong in this market only makes the research harder.
But, as there is in any bussiness , where there are money there are people who want to take advantage of them. Its our job to invest only in the strong, well planned and with a good transparent team ICO`s
That is just an illusion markets have claimed to self regulate and that is just a way to say that there is no regulation in place, I would like to avoid regulation in crypto but if thins keep going in this direction with people investing millions of dollars in scams then regulation is going to happen whether we like it or not.
