WAIT means it's waiting on new work from the miner core, which suggests the work producing thread is getting stuck somehow. Can you make a debug log?
Code:
bfgminer all your options first --debuglog 2>debug.log
It would also be helpful to try versions in between (start with half way in between) to narrow down the range of changes that could be responsible.

Is there something indicator that I can search for in the log? Typically it runs for several hours until the mining tasks stop working.
If I knew that, I wouldn't need to get a debug log Smiley

There is no error in the log, but it seems that the GPU clock and voltages is sometimes going down and in the end it stays low. Seems to be a power management problem. I already set DPMS to false in my xorg.conf but there must be other power managent switches to keep the GPU running at full speed.

Well, let's wait for Jeff's report. If there is one working ASIC unit - prototype or not - it should not be a big deal to make additional units.

(for the record, I do not know shipping method, nor have a tracking number)

Even their customers are kept in the dark about the shiping method and the tracking number? If they selected an express service we hopefully get your report in a few days. I never thought that the switch to ASIC mining will be so interesting.

Yesterday, I changed my bfgminer from an fairly old version to 2.10.2. Now I have the problem that the GPU miner just stops hashing. One GPU thread is on WAIT and the other one is doing a few kh/s. When I stop bfgminer and start it again, it starts hashing again with both threads in the Mh/s area. Pool is eligius.st (getblocktemplate), intensity is 11.
Which version were you using before?

It was one of the early 2.9 versions. Unfortunately I just deleted the old version after the new version started to work.

Nice. Maybe Jeff will post a review in the next few days. It would be nice to finally find a company in the bitcoin world that is not screwing their customers.
10267  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: January 20, 2013, 01:10:10 PM
LOL I never ordered anything from anyone... I was just entertained by the countdown clock. Like many others I will wait to see if people actually get one and then check if it makes sense to even order from Avalon or BFL or even bASIC. I am definitely not the early adopter type.

But it is much more thrilling if you lose a significant amount of money when playing the game.
10268  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: January 20, 2013, 01:08:00 PM
At least, the whole thing was entertaining. I think the entertainment was worth the pre-order money used to create an ASIC (A System Information Counter).

Yawn.... now what am I going to do for the rest of the evening.

Wait for your parcel to arrive ... Grin

They ship, they ship ... not.
10271  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 20, 2013, 12:54:17 PM
The only thing Tom could do to regain some of the trust would be to refund eveybody, build the bASIC devices with his own or some investors money, demonstrate success with a working device and then start selling the devices. There is no sign that he plans to refund any of the BTC customers which basically means:
bASIC is dead!
10272  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: MegaBigPower.com - Managed Hosted Mining on: January 20, 2013, 12:46:41 PM
My service may not appeal to many miners located in the US, but having the miners managed at the same baseline power price could make some sense.  In Europe, its a different story.

In Europe power is expensive for private/small customers. Large customers get prices that are between 4-8 cent / kWh. Another point is, having my mining hardware under third party control is like a deposit of my bitcoins at a bitcoin bank.

Not executing the BTC refunds as promised and posting this message: Is Tom crazy now?

There is no trust anymore and only a complete idiot will pay a single cent to do a bASIC pre-order. This message just makes no sense. Tom, say no to drugs!
10275  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 18, 2013, 12:56:53 PM
@all who paid Tom with BTC: Just wait a little bit and refunding your order is peanuts for Tom.
10276  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WOW! BFL is refusing full bitcoin refunds! on: January 18, 2013, 12:46:49 PM
To make it short: Don't pay with BTC!

Wow my business idea is great: Make money with a full refund strategy and at the same time make your victims^W customers happy.
10277  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WOW! BFL is refusing full bitcoin refunds! on: January 18, 2013, 07:27:13 AM
OK, let me summarize: I open a business in a country that is printing money like crazy, force my customers to pay in BTC as the only payment method and fail to deliver. Great.

Hello everybody,

I've developed a low power high performance mining rig. You get 100GH/s with only 50W of power. The shipment will start on Feb 4. 2013. Full refund in ARS guaranteed if I fail to deliver within the next 3 months. As my business is in argentina the price is 5000 ARS. At the moment I will only accept payments in BTC at the spot price. Pre-orders are welcome. First in the queue - first served!

Ich würde es so betrachten, dass da mal 3000 EUR investiert waren, die man jetzt abschreiben kann...
10279  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: bitcoinasic / btcfpga seriös? on: January 14, 2013, 09:19:11 AM
10280  Local / Mining (Deutsch) / Re: bitcoinasic / btcfpga seriös? on: January 14, 2013, 07:30:23 AM
