10281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ZEC] Zcash Speculation on: December 27, 2016, 01:24:36 AM
@Zeta0S. Did it not occur to you that bitcoin and using a mixing service is already ok for what most need right now? Why is there a need for another cryptocoin like zcash? If the people really want an anonymous coin Monero is the one that they should be looking into. Zcash is another money grab just like Ethereum.
10282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain governance really worth it? on: December 27, 2016, 01:05:11 AM
Sounds stupid if a government controls the blockchain that is used. The purpose of the blockchain is to have a database that is not controlled by one organization and by that it means that no 3rd party trust is involved. So if it were a scenario like that, would that mean that there is a possibility that there would be no government?
10283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] LEOcoin MLM Ponzi Fraud Investigation on: December 27, 2016, 12:58:47 AM
@Cryptoipad. Everybody does and it is nothing new. The ones who "support" them in the forum are paid shills or they are people who are part of leocoin itself. The funny part is they keep marketing their coin in this forum without realizing that the little 40 year old kids here are all broke because of the constant scamming.
10284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can trading be considered as gambling?? on: December 27, 2016, 12:48:28 AM
I want to know what you guys think about this, I have stopped gambling but still trade so does this mean I am still gambling?? I don't trade on basis of luck I trade using my skills would it still be considered gambling??

Please tell me what do you think.

But what kind of skills in trading do you have? Would you consider yourself a good trader? If you do, why did you post this thread?

Maybe your "skills" are not as good as you think. So you may think you are not gambling by trading, what I would assume are altcoins, then yes you are gambling. Altcoins are the biggest gamble of all if you view it from a different perspective.
10285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Opinion Needed... What Else To Add? on: December 27, 2016, 12:43:36 AM

I am a profitable sports bettor

If you do not mind me asking. How do we know that you are a profitable sportsbettor? It would be very hard to trust someone in an internet forum like bitcointalk.org. Please show us the hard data so we could see that you are really a winning sports bettor. There are many people who claim this but do not have the much needed hard data. It should also be a more than decent sample size.
10286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [ETC] Ethereum Classic Speculation on: December 25, 2016, 09:44:14 PM
See the price is moving completely because there are developments being made bu the admin, Many improvements will done when admin is more active and is communicating in any other forms but definitely there will be big impact of changing the price. But if really bitcoin price goes down definitely there will be big pump on both ETC & ETH.

Most important development is in development. Wink ETC team is choosing different path from ETH, focusing on security and functional approach: https://ethereumclassic.github.io/blog/2016-12-12-TeamGrothendieck/

Another funny way of looking at the ETC - ETH situation is that the developers, who are willing to put in the time with Ethereum classic, are the ones who are really saving the platform. What started as a scam from Vitalik became a passion project for a small group of underfunded people.

10287  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1x฿it.com - Most Competitive Sports฿ook & Casino | ฿est Odds & Wagering Options on: December 25, 2016, 09:33:37 PM
I made another withdrawal tonight. Everything is ok with no problems. But I would like to make one suggestion. Please let the us have a confirmation box before the bets officially take place to make sure we have everything right.

That withdrawal history panel is also really needed. Please adhere to this.

Nice to know that 1XBit is processing withdrawals as normal, some people keep complaining about it but I really can't see any legitimate reason for it. I mean just contact support and you should be right in max a day or two.

Also yeah, the withdrawal history is really needed and so is the bet confirmation. Otherwise people might complain about accidentally clicking something and request a refund Undecided

Yes. I hope 1XBit.com is really listening to us. Those two features for the site is really needed. It should have been included when the site was being made because they are necessary to make things verifiable without any hassle on their users.

I want to ask how many confirmation needed in 1xBit to credit every deposit? It is like cloudbet that instant credited what you deposit but can't withdraw your balances if your last transaction is unconfirmed?

For small amounts it is instant in my experience. When amounts are larger I will not be surprised if they required 3 confirmations before your deposit reflects in your account. This should be standard for all bitcoin sportsbetting sites.

10288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 25, 2016, 09:25:34 PM
I'm pretty sure if Monero was listed on a single Chinese exchange, the price could easily double.
If it started trading heavily on some Chinese exchanges, a price of $20 to $30 seems like it could be possible.

not every coin does well in china and im not sure why ...
they have a strange obsession with litecoin for some reason and rank it very highly
above most other coins

Not every coin but Monero is beginning to take itself apart from most of the cryptocoins and it is already showing the signs that it could be something big. So I agree with Shiro but expect the swings to be larger than usual when China starts trading XMR. If you do not believe me, just look at bitcoin.
10289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the wallet the key to coin success? on: December 25, 2016, 09:15:21 PM
All the comments made are naive. First define success. Is it to become a self sustaining ecosystem with an economy that is supporting the coin and at the same time the coin is supporting it as well?

Do you think a good wallet will help a cryptocoin reach that level of success?
10290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Foundation Logo Campaign (20 LTC) on: December 25, 2016, 09:08:29 PM
Litecoin Foundation will be founded soon. Its tentative mission statement is:

To advance Litecoin for the good of society by developing and promoting state-of-the-art blockchain technologies.

Its main function is to raise funding and support full-time researchers and developers as well as marketers if necessary.

We are now calling for logo proposals. Twenty Litecoins, sponsored by Xinxi personally, will be awarded to the best one chosen by us. Plagiarism will be checked thoroughly.

Designs posted here will not be evaluated. Please submit your design following the instructions on https://litecointalk.io/t/litecoin-foundation-logo-20-ltc/.

This is off topic but I would like to know your thoughts. I like and support the idea of setting up a foundation for litecoin to give it direction and revive the coin. Let us admit it, it was not going anywhere.

I want to ask, with what happened to the bitcoin foundation, how will you avoid suffering the same fate and what will you do to bring litecoin to a competitive form versus bitcoin?
10291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-12-22] With Segwit, Litecoin Faces a (Soft) Fork in the Road on: December 25, 2016, 09:01:09 PM

Lee kept this in mind while making the Litecoin platform, in which 84 million litecoins are to be mined in total. He continues to retweet people who suggest that, instead of risking a split chain in Bitcoin due to an unpopular soft or hard fork, crypto-users use Litecoin for small transactions.

READ MORE >>> https://news.bitcoin.com/segwit-litecoin-soft-fork-road/

I like his vision for litecoin in that he says it can be used for smaller transactions. That could work but many people still want to hold bitcoin as their main coin for savings and investment. Why not start an initiative for atomic cross chain transactions project between litecoin and bitcoin?
10292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: December 25, 2016, 08:47:12 PM
Let's see what the MMA pro fighters think.  Here are some videos of who they think shall be the winner in UFC 207's upcoming bouts.  Enjoy!

MMA Pros Pick - Ronda Rousey vs. Amanda Nunes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SL6o5VbdQoc

MMA Pros Pick - Dominick Cruz vs. Cody Garbrandt
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AI_gTSAt-X0

MMA Pros Pick - Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum II
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgiVGGBllS4

I thought Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum II is cancelled and Junior Dos Santos wants to replace Cain Velasquez.

Is it because of Cain's back injury? I googled what you said and I cannot find any news about Cain versus Fabricio being cancelled. What I see is Cain talking down his back injury and he is saying that it is manageable. Junior Dos Santos is scheduled for another event I think on January.
It's from the post of Brandon Vera through his facebook page entimports and yes its because of Cain's back injury. I just found it also weird that instead of Cain preparing his body for a surgery, he instead signed up for a fight, it could do more damage if he continue to fight then do surgery later.

Nice catch. I did not believe you at first to be quite honest. But I knew that there is some truth to the news because there were articles online that were saying Cain started using CBD to manage the pain in his back.

10293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Trading for Novices on: December 24, 2016, 01:54:05 AM
Another good way to learn is look for a trading coach to guide you constantly. If you cannot find one there are groups of traders who talk at Slack or at Telegram. Everyone is welcome to join them. It is important that you ask a lot of questions and do not be afraid to make mistakes.
10294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 24, 2016, 01:47:36 AM
Felipe Massa signed with williams (was the shortest retirement in the history of F1!).
At this point Bottas go to mercedes's almost guaranteed to 99%
Is this official news or only rumours? If it's true, I'm really amazed that Massa will back after his very emotional retirement on Brazil GP.
And yes, Massa back to Williams means that Bottas go to Mercedes. Williams didn't found anything else to be no. 1 pilot, so they called Massa. But I amazed that he agreed.

I don'tthink he will drive maybe as consultant for new drivers like laudable in mercedes
He was good for his driving carrier and for me one of 10 best in my list and i follow this for 30+ years

Are you making that up? Massa as a consultant? Are you stupid? It clearly said that he is reported to join Williams as a driver. If you do not watch F1 please stop posting in this thread.

@cicciobtc. Yes Valteri to Mercedes is a sure thing now. I feel sorry for Pascal Wehrlein because he was not given a chance. Where will he go now? Back to Manor?

10296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 208: Holm vs De Randamie Info and Prediction Thread on: December 23, 2016, 01:58:26 AM
The UFC should have waited for the legendary Cyborg to fight for the inaugural 145 pound belt and i am really surprised by the lack of support for Cyborg by the UFC new owners and Dana White especially. Cyborg is the pound for pound best female fighter in the world and she should have been the first UFC 145 pound champion, instead they have other plans. Holm lost her last two matches and lets hope the best fighter wins.

Maybe the reason why the UFC decided not to have Cyborg in the event was because she was flagged in an anti doping violation by the USADA. I will not be very surprised if she is proven to use drugs and steroids to enhance for performance. Simply looking at her makes me think she is full of testosterone injected in her. Or maybe "him".
10297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Fake volumes/trades on (alt) exchanges on: December 23, 2016, 01:40:32 AM
We have seen that all altcoins have turned out to be scams

Do you mean because their markets are manipulated and there's inside trading and such practices (which is also the case for BTC and for other traditional stocks I guess), or are there any other reasons (apart from the alts that are clearly scams and those that don't deliver and/or don't seem to try to deliver)?

if exchanges were proven to make money out of their users from their market making tactics, are cryptocoin exchanges also scams? Remember these exchanges are not regulated.

If all alts are indeed scams, then I would say that exchanges facilitating these scams are also to blame, moreover, traders that trade these scams are to blame too Smiley (if both are aware of the potentially scammy nature of alts).

That is a good point and it becomes aligned with my theory that all altcoiners are really bitcoiners. Most of these altcoiners do not withdraw their coins from the exchanges and are always waiting for a good price to to trade them back to bitcoin. So there are only two kinds of people who encourage everyone to hold the altcoin they themselves are holding. A stupid bagholder or a scamming bagholder.
10298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 23, 2016, 01:37:07 AM

Ah so scaling Monero is not a sure thing it will be a success afterall. I do not mean anything negative by it. I still support Monero as long as the developers stay on the path of research and that they are here for the grand experiment of cryptocoins.

I do not believe anyone has claimed a sure thing. These are all experiments.

A comment like this that is coming from a person from the development team is very much appreciated. Honesty is a rare trait in the cryptosphere these days and it is good to see that the good ones are still around. I hope your pursuit of finding a solution for bitcoin's shortcomings will be successful.

10299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Uh, you might want to start buying some Litecoins... on: December 23, 2016, 01:23:29 AM
Still I'm not convinced with those pictures and without caption I don't know what it is all about, I can also put that "its not hard to convince a millionaire to get back to zcash." And who is that billionaire referring to mate?

Yes this is just another attempt to hype a stagnating cryptocoin like LTC. Do you think a rational investor or trader will buy litecoin now just because someone in the forum told us to? Look at the price of bitcoin and litecoin, the wiser choice is to hold all your bitcoin now. Litecoin's price is falling against bitcoin's price and it will not go up unless bitcoin is falling.
10300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 207: Rousey vs Nunes Prediction and Info Thread on: December 23, 2016, 12:56:21 AM
@gabmen. How can you say that? Nunes' strikes are strong, fast and crisp. She knows when to keep her distance, just like Holly Holm and when to strike going forward. Ronda should be careful because this could be her last fight in the UFC. She has been away from fighting for more than 1 year and many of her peers do not think she is ready for a championship fight.
