10301  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet just disappeared after a transaction on: March 25, 2020, 04:15:52 PM
Just now, Malwarebytes blocked an attemp to connect to exs.ignorelist.com by the electrum 3.3.8 installer, saying its an exploit.... think we got the problem, and someone stole my money...

MB sometimes block Electrum servers, but this does not have to mean that it is a real danger, only a false warning. As DireWolfM14 is say, you probably download fake version of Electrum - and you do that by using Google search and pick first result from the top which in most case is paid add used by hackers to scam you and others.

Coinbase is send coins to your Legacy address -> 1LCtHWuQvRG7SFvxsXZ8aXhiLYSoQXXDBd (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1LCtHWuQvRG7SFvxsXZ8aXhiLYSoQXXDBd) then hacker is send this coins to bc1q03u7xehrht5ha7vgss8ulu3umlk5lzqt3z0yt2 (https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1q03u7xehrht5ha7vgss8ulu3umlk5lzqt3z0yt2) and it seems he was very busy in last few days - total balance moved through that address was 0.67187460 BTC.

Check your browsing history, try to find link to that Electrum site from where you download wallet - post it here by using option Insert Code so we can report it and take that site down.

Edit :

I believe this server could be one of the ones which used to send fake messages to the users connected to them, telling the user to download a fake (and infected) update of the wallet.

I don't think server is a problem, other user is report same server blocked by MB - but he was definitely confirmed that Electrum is downloaded from official site. I leave little chance that both cases have something to do with the server in question.

Downloaded Malwarebytes after it happened and ran a scan - only some PUPs but the realtime protection detected 2 things afterwards: Malicious site "exs[dot]ignorelist[dot]com pointing to electrum-3.3.8.exe and qualified as an exploit and endthefed[dot]onthewifi[dot]com pointing to electrum-3.3.8.exe qualified as "Phishing", so this might be a lead even if I don't see what a server can do to cause this.
10302  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-23] Bitcoin will continue to be volatile over the next few months on: March 25, 2020, 03:54:42 PM
I tried to read the article, but the site is not loading - the internet is under heavy load lately.

We all know that from time to time, some people need to go public and say something about the price of BTC, Michael Novogratz is no exception to this rule. I take it as a free promotion for him and article + earnings for a page that publishes such news, so it's a win-win situation for them.

I leave the possibility that MN actually thought of volatility which is extreme (40-50% drops), which means that we can expect to go down to the $4000 zone again (or even lower), only for reason that COVID-19 still need to hit with full power countries like UK&USA.
10303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The trouble! I need some help / Advice!!! on: March 25, 2020, 03:24:28 PM
Are non-custodial wallets slower to get things done than online wallets?
Exactly the opposite, in non-custodial wallets you have complete control over everything which includes private keys, coin control, transaction fees and some other things - in other words you are your own bank. This is actually the point of the whole story, because you found yourself in a situation that showed you that you had entrusted someone else with your funds and now have lost access to the same funds.

It is very important to emphasize that non-custodial wallets carry a very high level of personal responsibility, which means that you have to be well versed in how they work and pay very close attention to the safety of your devices (PC/smartphones).

10304  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Does Covid-19 comes from Bat or Because of Installation of 5G towers? on: March 25, 2020, 03:10:36 PM
My computer has been connected to a 5G network for more than 3 years...

You say you've been using 5G for three years? As far as I can see commercial usage is mostly headed to 2019/2020, it seems you live in some very advanced country _ https://www.worldtimezone.com/5g.html

There are many theories that the virus has actually passed from animal to human, and one of the first theories put forward by the Chinese was on that trail. All of this, of course, was further accentuated by the fact that the first 4 infected had a direct connection to the Wuhan animal market. So far, science has failed to prove any link between the transmission of this virus from animals to humans, and therefore bats and pangolins no need to be blamed for the current situation.

Mystery deepens over animal source of coronavirus
10305  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good and reliable crypto(Bitcoin) price prediction group/service ? on: March 25, 2020, 02:46:00 PM
I have been in many such paid groups, but to be honest almost all of them are crap.
Given that you are admitted half the truth about the so-called prediction/signal groups, you would do yourself a great favor to admit the other half of the truth - which is that such groups are just a myth, and it is actually about individuals being rich on people like you. If someone has really valuable and trustworthy information, do you think they will share it publicly with everyone or use that information to maximize their profits?

For me, such groups are in the same category as cloud mining - a lot of nice promises that end up with a financial loss.
10306  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger's newest 20-25% Discount on: March 25, 2020, 11:57:25 AM
DireWolfM14, you may need to look at the user's post history so some things will become clear. I'm not hard to anyone if I tell the truth, and I don't think I wrote any lies when it comes to the user in question.

Of course, it is better to ask than to live in ignorance or to make a cardinal mistake, but one must also adopt shared knowledge, and not act in a way that he forgets all that he has previously learned. I am not competent to say what is in his head, but if he does not begin to understand the things that have been explained to him for years, it is only a matter of time before he will make that one fatal mistake.
10307  Economy / Economics / Re: Net worths if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 on: March 25, 2020, 11:35:35 AM
You will be surprised about how big portions of american companies are owned by arabs  Grin
Well, I wouldn't be too surprised, because it is public knowledge that Saudi Arabia, by some estimates, had about 10% of what is most valuable in the United States at the time of the 9/11 attacks - as a result, they flew back to Saudi Arabia at the time of the complete cessation of air traffic above the United States.  As I say in my previous post, House of Saud is worth $ trillions, and in the years to come, that wealth will increase even more - in every recession, the ones investing are wealthy Arabs and of course the Chinese.
10308  Economy / Reputation / Re: Kakatua Bounty Manager With His 17 Other Altaccounts! on: March 25, 2020, 11:25:13 AM
Sounds good as long as you do not make politically incorrect statements around here, but most pretend this is not the case.
Can you explain to me exactly what you think with "politically incorrect statements" when it comes to this particular case or any other case where one has discovered multiple linked accounts? The only thing that comes to my mind is that maybe someone is targeting these kinds of cases because of some political disagreement or something like that.
10309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont let them fool you. We will see a NEW BOTTOM. Maybe BTC at 3400$ again? on: March 25, 2020, 11:10:11 AM
but your portfolio dropped a 40% since I opened this thread, and will go worse. Ok, you are free to hold it and keep losing money, and I am free to express my points so others don't get trapped and lose their money.

40% you say? As far as my memory serves me, the price of BTC was even lower in December 2019 (around $6500), and at this moment is $6800 - what I lost since you open this FUD/Self-promotion thread? What I lost since 2015 when I first time invest in BTC at price of only $200? My portfolio is up more than 30x since 2015, and this is hard fact which you can challenge as much as you want. From time when faucets pay 5 BTC per claim, and to time when 1 BTC is worth almost $7000 many people like you are been buried BTC hundreds of times, and none of them are on the forum anymore, you will be just one of them.

PS: will come back to you when BTC reachs the 3k mark again.. and later on 1K  Grin

You forget that if BTC fail, all other crypto project will follow - and that is including that crypto-exchange you are working now, and that project you are shilling. Your speculation was, and still is "in next 5 months" since the opening of this thread, so you have until May 11, or you will still extend the timeframe to another 5 months, maybe 5 years?

I agree with ChiNgadOr and that's why I'm now a supporter of BSV.

That's why this bear market is permanent, and bitcoin will dump to the bottom of $0.85 in 2028.

This should be recorded for history, see you in 2028.
10310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dont let them fool you. We will see a NEW BOTTOM. Maybe BTC at 3400$ again? on: March 24, 2020, 03:38:28 PM
Are you in love with me?  Grin It is overhelming.. but well, I can handle it as it is online love. One again you are the only one who talks about my signature here, I  only talk about that subject in the respective bitcointalk thread, not promoting here..so sorry, I don't play your game as I am not in kindergarten since  along time ago.
Regarding BTC, (THE PURPOSE OF THE POST), people is free to discuss, so yes, I posted a DETAILED explanation of my claim.. And you are again wrong, there is a lot of brainwahs, shilling, propaganda... Bitcoin is supposed to get mainstream as we talk to friends and family to buy.. seems more ponzi than a multilevel business. who shills BTC? these people that already got big wallets.
The fact is that are many coins much more efficient (faster, cheaper, ..) and less manipulated than BTC (where 95% of supply is under control of 2.5% of addresses). On top of that, lets add the upcoming central bank digital currencies (CBDC).. And to finish, the big coronavirus pandemia never seen before by anyone alive today in the world. Things will get realy worse, all markets will dump and it is already proven the safe haven/digital gold of BTC is bullshit, as it was dumping nearly 65% some days ago. You don't like because you want to marry BTC? great, but leave people decide AFTER knowing ALL the facts.

I'm talking about something that is fact, and you are promoting scam project, or better to say you shilling it more than most people any other project, including BTC. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5132229.msg54083976#msg54083976

Also, what you are shilling so hard is based on plagiarized whitepaper, although you and your team don't have any particular problems building your business on something that doesn't belong to you. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5133185.0

I will not comment on all the other nonsense you wrote, you completely ignored one of my post before, but now I see you are rather moody, due to the price of BTC, pandemic, or something else...
10311  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: {Warning}: Fake Bitcoin QR Code Generators on: March 24, 2020, 03:07:10 PM
Electrum, bitcoin core and most webwallets already make a QR code for you to scan when you want to send bitcoins. They already have this feature built-in and there is absolutely no reason to use a web service to generate them. I don't understand why people are flocking to these websites when there is already one in their wallet software.

This entire scam reeks of gullibility. It literally says "enter your bitcoin address and the qr-codes will automatically be generated" to which address? QR codes are requests to send bitcoins to another address so it is abundantly clear that the receiving address belongs to a hacker. I can't believe people would fall for this.

It's really hard to figure out what an individual thinks when they use an unreliable page to generate QR codes for their BTC address, and at the same time they get it automatically in almost every desktop/mobile or hardware wallet Huh

Almost 5 BTC is gifted in this way, so it's more than obvious that the thing really works, much to the delight of those who enjoy something that can be called easy money. All of this really shows us the enormous level of ignorance in which a fair number of those who are somehow involved in crypto live today.
10312  Economy / Reputation / Re: Kakatua Bounty Manager With His 17 Other Altaccounts! on: March 24, 2020, 02:41:18 PM
Miscellaneous:
Even this filthy scammer whose Kakatua account has been painted in red because of managing or launching many fraudulent, scam projects on the forum and there are a couple of threads against him already and to be honest the communioty is getting rekt because of those kind of cheaters with massive number of altaccounts, the space is becoming a place for scammers and dishonestly, many newbies are joining in his campaigns and without even doing own diligence they are indirectly helping scammers to promote scams and many people are losing funds, times for being involved with such scam projects. I have a hunch that this guy is the centre of creating some of the scam projects that he has managed as bounty manager. It’s probably up for the debate but what I can express from those proofs is that this guy deserve to be get ban hammer by the DT members, community and should never be allowed to return on the forum. But it's up for the respectful members of the forum to decide what to do.

It is truly amazing to see what some are turning this forum into and how much effort they are getting into tricking as many people as possible. People who discover things like this should really get a special tribute to the forum in the form of a badge or something like that, because I have to admit that it is a fairly large amount of data that takes a long time to read, and it is difficult for me to imagine how long it took to investigate and present all this.

DT members can't do anything about ban for this user and his alt accounts, and alt accounts are not prohibited, same a scams are not moderated. The only thing the community can do is try to warn everyone else by leaving negative trust or by support the flag.
10313  Economy / Economics / Re: Net worths if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 on: March 24, 2020, 02:22:58 PM
He does say he is still holding some BTC - I wonder why when he claims its such a terrible coin. Hypocrite much?

Roger lost his reputation to most people when he not only turned his back on BTC, but with the help of some other people tried to destroy it. I will never forget when at one point the price of BTC was around $5000. At the same time the price of BCH crossed $3000 + constant spam on the BTC network with massive media support - many were very tempted and wondered if the king was falling. Of course he's one plain spoiled hypocrite, but he is not stupid to not hold some BTC for future.

That's the rank in terms of all the richest people in the world, not just the richest bitcoin holders. Jeff Bezos is number one with a net worth somewhere around $110 billion.

Bezos may be known as one of the richest men in the world, but what about families like Walton (Walmart) - Estimated Wealth: $190.5 billion. And what about Rothschilds or The House of Saud whose combined wealth is actually measured in the trillions of dollars. These are really real players who have actually acquired their wealth through the generations, and Bezos, Buffett, Gates are little babies for them.
10314  Other / Meta / Re: [BitCoinTalk][COVID-19] Grim Reality on: March 24, 2020, 12:01:20 PM
It is actually suggested to drink a lot of hot fluids on a regular basis, especially tea. Why? Because the virus stays in your nose and mouth for several days before making its way down towards the lungs.
Should I start snorting hot tea so that I can access my naval cavity, then? Take a look at the anatomical structure of your head...

Done?

You can ask the same question to another member who also posted what is "best treatment" for COVID-19. If only the media is to blame in this case, or people who believe all they read/hear?

They would do better if they banned all drugs that compromised immune systems, and then allowed us to build a herd immunity. The best treatment for the virus is drinking hot water. This increases the effectiveness of your immune system, and it ensures that you are not dehydrated.
10315  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ledger Live fake Chrome extensions on: March 24, 2020, 11:35:31 AM
I'm away from PC now, so I can't check, but I think that these ads on Google search results are still shown even with adblock.

With keywords "Ledger Live" I get 6 blocked sites (uBlock) and official Ledger site on top (using Firefox+Google search). So I'm sure the thing works, and that AdBlock has a key role to play for anyone who's used to searching the Internet that way. Of course, this does not fit Google who sells their ads by serving them at the top of search results, but given that they do not have effective verification mechanisms, there is nothing but to block them and surf in much safer way.

As far as I can remember, Google plans to disable AdBlock in Chrome, which is one more reason to find an alternative browser.
10316  Economy / Economics / Re: Net worths if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 on: March 24, 2020, 11:16:40 AM
Even with 1 BTC it's already a fortune in some places. I'd be more than happy to save it for years.

Of course, in some countries where people work for less than $50 a month, 1 BTC even at today's price is a real fortune, while in some other countries this is of course not the case because of the much higher wages and extremely high living standards. I hope that in the next decade anyone who own at least 1 BTC will be much more financially independent than is the case today.

Mind blow! Its more than 1 trillion dollar held by few people together. Just imagine how badly they can erupt the economy if they start selling it.
But one question ! If any day they think of throwing all the coins in the market then would there be chance all of it will get buy orders ?

These are just assumptions, read the previous posts to better understand what this is really about. Here for example in the case of Tim Draper we know that he buy those BTC back in 2014, but we do not know is he still hold them. But he has repeatedly said that he does not intend to sell the coin he has now, but planning to use them as a store of value and currency.

If BTC really reaches very high values in the future, and if it becomes one of the usual payment methods, why would anyone sell it at all?
10317  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Telegram run by scammer on: March 24, 2020, 10:55:07 AM
I think he's not talking about a telegram group he might be talking about this user below from telegram.

As you can see from the OP reply, it's not about the user you are referencing, it's about a group pretending to be an official Telegram support for Electrum. Anyone trying to convince others that they need to type their seed online is a scammer, and I'm just wondering how many of those 190 members are real, and how many bots that play false satisfied users.
10318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bump rule reminding on: March 23, 2020, 02:48:30 PM
...ask the mod to delete their thread.

Mods will not delete threads, they will only delete old bumps, and I see that many times. What is strange is that after deleting old posts, there is generally no change in behavior. It is possible that some users have no idea about these rules at all.

If any of users who have earned merit in that last year post in the ANN thread, the bump score of the thread will increase and this is exactly what they want.

Good warning, although bumping doesn't just happen in boards where is allowed to bump thread, but also in some other boards where this option is not available. I remember alerting a few users about this, but there was no reaction - like talking to a wall...
10319  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Telegram run by scammer on: March 23, 2020, 02:36:11 PM
What makes you think the owner of the channel is a scammer?

Probably nothing that can be done about it but the Telegram Electrum chat is owned by a scammer who just asked for me to fill out a file to give him my seed phrase. Just a heads up.

Maybe because of this bold part? If the truth is what the OP claims (and it would be good to put evidence), asking for seed is sufficient proof that it is a scam. Although I leave the possibility that this is a misinterpreted message from OP side. Also account that you linked is not active from 08 July 2019.
10320  Economy / Economics / Re: Net worths if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 on: March 23, 2020, 02:02:13 PM
How come you have concluded Satoshi and Roger as two people  Cheesy Isn't he claiming to be the Faketoshi for a long time  Grin

Roger does not claim to be Satoshi (as far as I know), you mix it with his friend Craig Wright - Roger is more marked as Judas of Bitcoin  Wink

Regarding Roger, we know he is switch to BCH long time ago, though he may be playing a double game, i don't think it has that much BTC. Tim Draper is bought between 30 000 - 40 000 BTC back in 2014, but it seems that he is invested those coins shortly after purchase. Winklevoss Twins are the most famous public figures who have such a large amount, but there may be those who are completely unknown to the public.

I think even with the $100k price tag, there would be very few millionaires in this forum - most are lucky if they manage to get even 1 BTC Smiley
