10321  Other / Meta / Re: What to do when you see someone copy pasting content ? on: March 11, 2018, 04:15:31 AM
newbies are not happen to do this copy paste thing.
Say what?  Not quite sure what you meant to say, since the grammar here is a little scrambled, but most of the time when I find someone who's copy-pasted material from the internet, it's almost invariably a Newbie to Member-level member who's doing it.  I don't think I've ever seen someone with a higher rank trying to pass off stolen content as their own.  I'm not saying that doesn't happen, because it does, but it's usually the noobs who are trying desperately to rank up their accounts and to get paid from some of the shittier campaigns who are the most common perpetrators of this plagiarism.  And when they get busted, they just create a new account and try again.

It amazes me that these illiterate fools think they're just going to plagiarize stuff and get away with it, that no one will notice.  It also amazes me that people do notice, given how many users there are on bitcointalk and how many posts there are.  I'm happy that some people have very sharp eyes.
10322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Again to the bottom? on: March 10, 2018, 10:56:50 PM
I'm waiting for everything to fall--altcoins, bitcoin, stocks, and every other speculative asset that's been ballooned up over the past 6-10 years by low interest rates.

You mark my words, when the Fed starts raising interest rates and it starts getting harder to borrow money and it costs more to trade things on margin, those things will plummet.  And as far as bitcoin goes, we just rose too fast, too soon.  This was to be expected, and I think we'll get a little more pain before bitcoin is done dropping.

Don't know how low it'll eventually drop to, but being near $9000 really isn't that bad.  Think back to just 2016 when I think we were still below $1000.  You have to keep some perspective on the price and the market in general.
10323  Other / Meta / Re: Why is it so hard to earn merits?? on: March 10, 2018, 10:47:47 PM
Fuck it, I gave you a merit, OP.  Your thread here is a duplicate of probably 2 dozen of the same bitch threads about merit, but your English is obviously good--and in my book that counts for a lot.  I have not checked your posting history, so I hope the merit I gave you isn't being wasted on a shitposter.  But eh, it's only 1 merit.

I, like probably a lot of other higher-ranked members, am running low on sMerits so it's becoming harder as time goes on to earn them--I'm not sure how many merits the official merit sources are giving out, but my opinion is that there probably need to be more merit sources.  I've tried to give merits to lower-ranked members more often than, say, legendaries, but I just tend to like what people who have been here longer have to say.  And the signal:noise ratio is extremely low on this forum, and that's mostly due to noobs and noob alt accounts.
10324  Economy / Economics / Re: When will the market turn and start growing again? on: March 10, 2018, 10:33:44 PM
Holy sheee-it!

I hadn't looked at the price of bitcoin in about 4 days, since my phone broke and lost access to the internet.  Now it's dropped well over $2000 since last I looked.  Oh well.  I don't think anyone ought to really be concerned about this, since we were due for a steep correction for some time now, and this looks like it's arrived.  As always, I'm not holding a lot of bitcoin at the moment so this isn't hammering my wallet like I'm sure it is a lot of folks.

We'll start rocketing ahead in a few weeks.  The bull market in bitcoin is far from over.
10325  Other / Meta / Re: Here is the quality of posts after merit system on: March 10, 2018, 09:33:06 PM
And they didn't get any merit.

Those who are bellow the Legendary rank won't rank up anymore. What is your point?
I'm still waiting for these idiots to actually realize this and to give up.  Honestly it's taking a lot longer than I expected, but I suppose that's one of the reasons they're idiots in the first place.

Those posts quoted are indeed horrible, and it's a shame that noob fools are still able to join shitty altcoin campaigns and get paid for such drivel.  I think that's going to be the next reform, but we'll likely have to wait a while for it to happen.  In the meantime, I'm still damn glad the merit system is in place.
10326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Having a Ramen week! on: March 10, 2018, 04:11:31 AM
I've done this, and done it recently.  And it's been more like Ramen months for me--I kid you not.  I get a hard on for saving money, and 1) Quitting smoking, and 2) Eating cheaply, which includes Ramen noodles, has really put some dollars in my pocket.  Since I really like the Marchuran brand of Ramen, the kind that comes in one of those little trays that you microwave.  Spicy chicken flavored is the best, btw, with a little olive oil.  Mmmm.
10327  Other / Meta / Re: I've started an english language inprovement thread on: March 10, 2018, 01:48:33 AM
What kind of bs is this?Huh I'm so mad at bitcointalk's bigotry.

You're talking about anonymity and decentralization, but you're trying to centralize btc as an English-major coin!

Bitcoin is international, and it should be global. Making a big fuss about English skills and acting like bitcoin is only in English demeans the effort to get bitcoin trusted worldwide,

Bitcoin doesn't need a language barrier on top of all its other current barriers.
This is primarily and English language forum, you knockerhead.  And the reason it's become so shitty in the past few years is because the forum has been infiltrated by filthy, no-English-speaking idiots who are only here to post the same idiotic shitposts so they can get paid.  It's sickening.

While I respect JetCash's aim, there's no way I'm spending time giving English lessons to people who should be posting in the local boards.  If your English is bad, go seek knowledge elsewhere and come back when you've learned enough to be coherent.  I've got no patience for this, since most of the users here are so illiterate that they would basically go back and get the schooling they didn't get growing up...and I'm not getting paid to do that, nor would I want to.  Plus most of them are so two-faced and ungrateful that it would turn my stomach to make such an effort.  Good luck if that's your thing, but all you're going to get is more shitposting.
10328  Other / Meta / Re: Members applying in merit campaigns without being eligible on: March 10, 2018, 01:17:24 AM
Dont you have anything better to do? For example participating in campaigns to earn some money...
Stop wasting your time on things that don't affect you!
People are joining everything nowadays without reading the rules anyway.
I agree that this probably doesn't need its own thread, as it's a relatively minor issue and not a new one--but man is it annoying to see these idiots applying to campaigns that they obviously don't qualify for.

That's part of a culture that I just don't understand, and it's one of the reasons I can't stand all these 3rd world garbage posters who are only here to earn money spamming.  They'll do anything, including lying, cheating, and cover-ups of misdeeds, and probably a million other unsavory practices.

They need to stick to the local boards.
10329  Other / Meta / Re: Merits ! Can I beg to give me merits other participants? Ban or not? on: March 07, 2018, 04:48:20 AM
it's wrong from your side. it was necessary to explain to him that this is not correct!
I don't have the time or the patience to fucking explain to every illiterate moron why they shouldn't beg/scam/shitpost/farm accounts.  If you want to take on a project like that, be my guest.  It's much easier--and more effective--to paint 'em red.  As soon as the idiot brigade realizes that the consequence is going to sting a bit, they'll cease their bullshit.

When I was on DT for about 5 days, I loved it.  My message inbox would routinely get filled with incomprehensible pleas to remove my feedback.  "But my family is starving!".

Eh.  I'm indifferent to these people's hunger.  It's the shitposting that irritates me.
10330  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any book I should read? on: March 07, 2018, 04:44:14 AM
There have been threads on this before, and it's a great question.

One of the best books on investing I've ever read is Reminiscences of a Stock Operator.  The book is probably 100 years old now, but it's a really good read and the stuff about technical analysis (which I think is all bunk) is fascinating.

Also a general suggestion:  check out pretty much any book written by Roger Lowenstein.  He writes a lot about the stock market, and the book about the Long Term Capital Management disaster of 1998 is freaking awesome.
10331  Other / Meta / Re: I Will not pay even a cent on: March 07, 2018, 12:59:39 AM
If you registered here and you were immediately banned, take that as an omen from a higher power that you don't belong here.  We're probably being relieved of a serious eyesore by your absence.  I wish more fools would get banned here.

Ah, if I only had that power for a day, think of the wonderful things that could be accomplished.  lol
10332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is banning all ads promoting cryptocurrencies, including ICOs on: March 06, 2018, 02:12:33 AM
I can't say I blame them one bit.

There's a booming economy behind all this spamming, and we all know the hows and whys, because a lot of the recruiting for this shit happens on bitcointalk.  I have a feeling that a lot of these people's social media followers are fake, and created for the purpose of allowing them to spam for money.  And people are getting tired of seeing posts advertising these scammy-ass ICOs that they probably don't have a clue how they work anyway.

I think it's a fantastic decision on the part of FB to do this.  The part of my that is completely heartless hopes this hits the 3rd world shitposters in their wallets HARD.  Maybe they can go out and get real jobs instead of spamming.
10333  Economy / Reputation / Re: What if bounty Manager very arrogant? on: March 05, 2018, 10:47:01 PM
So the problem as I understand it is that your bounty manager didn't upgrade your rank, and thus you should be getting paid more based on the higher rank?

I'm getting the feeling that there's more to their conversation than is posted here.  Were you really assertive in asking him to change your rank?  He seems to think your attitude sucks, but from only what was posted here, that doesn't seem to be the case.  You might be a pain in his ass, but IMO that doesn't justify his comments.

Either report him to his boss and see if that helps, or find yourself a new bounty.  It's not like there's a dearth of them around.
10334  Other / Meta / Re: Merits ! Can I beg to give me merits other participants? Ban or not? on: March 05, 2018, 10:32:23 PM
You came here to earn money, most likely by spamming scrambled English nonsense all over bitcointalk, Facebook, and Twitter--that's why rank and getting merits are important to you.

Theymos said he doesn't want "excessive" begging; I think that's exactly how he put it.  Other members, including those on DT, disapprove of any begging, as do I.  You should NOT get merit unless you've earned it.  Why should you?  You contributed sweet fuckall by begging for it in a post or PM.

I got this PM not too long ago:
hi sir, can you give me 10 merit? to increase my rank to member  Cry
And I gave this guy a negative trust, which he deserved.  You bitches are looking for a free lunch, and you sure as hell aren't going to get one from me.

Edit:  OP is also going on my ignore list, which I'd advise everyone who reads this to do as well.
10335  Other / Meta / Re: Trust spam report + suggestion on: March 05, 2018, 04:52:35 AM
I'm having the same issue with member Buzzlieve1992, who left several VERY long, consecutive, negative trusts on my page.

I'm all for being able to leave trust as you see fit, but this is just abuse.  He's obviously trying to obscure the rest of my trust page with these unnecessary trusts, and his is retaliatory feedback, plain & simple.  I left him a neg for being an account dealer.

So from what I gather, there's no good way to report these jackoffs?
10336  Other / Meta / Re: How to earn merits easily ? on: March 05, 2018, 04:43:38 AM
Correct spamming is not a good way to get merit. But like what i said even you post/comment relevant and useful to other member some members dont send merit for that post most likely they ignore it that is why its very hard to get merit. But even that is happening we do not need to stop helping other people and create more knowledgeable post to give additional information to those member who have lack of knowledge about crypto.
But most of your posts are insipid, one-line shitzingers like this one:
Yes I agree as a newbie I have a problem in trusting issue here.and in reducing the amount of scam with bitcoin is really hard to eliminate,
So in my mind, you're just another sig campaign-motivated individual who has realized that a lot of merit points are being given out in threads that talk about merit.  But what you and the rest of the cockposting army have not caught onto yet is that writing posts 1) That are in GOOD English, 2) Are not cookie-cutter responses by 3rd world shitposters like "we do not need to stop helping other people and create more knowledgeable post to give additional information to those member who have lack of knowledge about crypto" (you just wrote that, and that's a variation of the standard shitpost), and 3) Are INTERESTING.

I've pretty much got the info I need about bitcoin right now.  It's lacking, but I can deal with it.  What I'm on bitcointalk for is the social aspect--the banter with other members.  Can't do that with a 3rd world shitposter, because they employ no humor, wit, and they won't even read your posts anyway.  They're too busy cranking out shitposts with all of their alt accounts so they can get paid.

I do hope campaigns are finally forced to NOT accept Newbie to Member-level accounts.  That would put a swift end to a lot of crapolaposts, since these people will have an extraordinarily difficult time attaining Sr. Member status without resorting to a purchase of an account.  But we'll see how long it takes before the merit system grinds them down.  It's a process, and one I watch with glee.

As i said before, scammers are easilly spotted by this merit. So post quality and to the point topics Smiley
So you felt the need to drop a shitpost like this again?
it kind of diminishes the ablities of read-only users like me.
If you're truly "read-only", then this shouldn't bother you in the least if someone else ranks up or not.
10337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you choose stress free investment on: March 05, 2018, 04:18:24 AM
If you want stress free investment, you can go buy some bonds and be happy with the 0.5% yearly return.
Nobody (except idiots) puts lifetime hard earned money in crypto.
You took the words right out of my mouth.  I find it funny that OP is alluding to some sort of mythical "stress-free altcoin investment", since I think that something with that description doesn't exist--not by a long shot.  For a while there in 2016 or so, when I was frequently on Yobit, I'd watch altcoin behavior (Yobit lists everything under the sun and has shitcoins that don't seem to ever rise above 1 satoshi), and it always amazed me that some of these coins would get pumped up to gains of 1000's of percentage, and within a day they would fall back down to a couple satoshi.

Since then I've learned a bit about myself, and one of the things I learned is that I don't have much of a gambler's mentality.  I have tried to day-trade some shitcoins and did make some money on some of them, but more often than not I lost money.  And for the entire holding period, I'd be paying attention to the shitcoin's price, with a sell order that never seemed to be reached.  It was like mental torture, and I've read in threads like this that I'm not alone in that feeling.

Stress-free for me is investing in good stocks that pay decent dividends.  Bonds are kind of boring to me, and I've never bought any, but good stocks can rise in value and generate some passive income.  As much as I'm fond of bitcoin, it doesn't provide stability or income.
10338  Economy / Auctions / Re: 2 Sr accounts 1 can be hero in 1/2 weeks on: March 04, 2018, 09:55:23 PM
OP is pretty much an idiot anyway.  Take a look at the red trust I left him at the end of 2017, where he broke one of my local rules--which was prominently displayed in my thread.

He wanted me to send him funds first, which, given his rank here, is a sure sign of trying to scam.  Anyone who deals with this moron is just asking to be scammed.  And buying/selling accounts is shady enough on its own.  Do yourself a huge favor and just don't do it.
10339  Other / Meta / Re: Merits should be given for the lower ranks only. on: March 04, 2018, 09:47:24 PM
I don't agree with most of what OP wrote, and it sounds like just another noobie thread complaining about not getting merits *fast enough*.

As for myself, I obviously don't need merits to rank up, but I think it's somewhat important to campaign managers when they're looking at a potential participant's quality of "work".  I know DarkStar_ very much keeps track of the merits that have been earned in the Chipmixer campaign, though he hasn't used it to fire anyone or anything else.

When someone sends me merit(s) for posts I've made that they like, I've thus far given the sMerits back in the manner of paying it forward.  And if you look at my "sent merits" history, I've given quite a few of them to unknown (to me), low-ranked members.

I agree that it's the low-ranked members who need them most, but I've also noticed that it's these same ones who tend to make some of the shittiest posts I've ever read on bitcointalk.  There are too many noobs, alt accounts, and throwaway ones for them to ever receive the amount of merit they're expecting.  What they need to do is just be patient.

The merit system is kind of designed to let people rank up slowly--except if you're nullius, making a lot of very high-quality posts.  Everyone else just needs to wait.
10340  Other / Meta / Re: Is it too late for newbies to rank up on Bitcointalk? on: March 04, 2018, 09:37:33 PM
I'm finding it a little unbelievable that OP registered today and is already asking a *stupid* question about merits--in a new thread, no less.

OP, please do yourself, and the rest of the bitcointalk community, a favor and do a lot of reading before you start creating threads about issues that have been addressed at length.  Assuming you're not an account farmer's alt account (which I think you are), if you're starting out here concerned with ranking up, you're here for all the wrong reasons.  And given the way your post was structured, you're not likely to earn any merit and you'll stay a Jr. Member until all the stars in the galaxy burn themselves out.
