10341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Willy Report...What do you guys make of it? on: May 26, 2014, 11:28:10 AM
I've just nearly finished reading it, and it's unfortunate to hear that Karples and Gox might have been rotten to the very core. I had for a long time held out hope they were just fighting the good fight against hackers, etc... but of course these days that was obviously naive fantasy. I was hoping they were massively incompetent, not outright criminals.

I recall reading something from a member of staff at Gox saying that Mark was using consumer funds to bankroll an on-site coffee shop.

I'm sure that was probably just a joke based on the frappuchino meme that sprung up.
10342  Other / Meta / Re: Automatic rejection for whole-post-quoting, please. on: May 26, 2014, 11:13:47 AM
There's rarely any need
Of course there is.

I think you are confusing the word 'need' with 'want'. There is rarely any need to full-quote a post, particularly those over one or two lines long.

I think you're the one confusing them. I don't think there's any need to disallow people from quoting the whole message but you seem to want it.
10343  Other / Meta / Re: Automatic rejection for whole-post-quoting, please. on: May 26, 2014, 10:26:24 AM
There's rarely any need to include the full content of an existing post one is replying to, and they leave discussion threads messy as hell. Particularly the sheer number of '+1' useless-one-liners that are often the entire content of the reply added to the bottom of the full-post-quote.

Of course there is. Not much point in having to delete a bit of it just to reply either. I think people should cut some of the quotes out that aren't really needed though, and I usually do.

You can also report useless +1 posts.
10344  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: May 26, 2014, 10:18:07 AM
I just don't think he knows what he's talking about  Cheesy. Remember, this is the guy that said we should get paid on how many people view our posts/threads haha.
10345  Other / Off-topic / Re: WHAT MOVIE TO WATCH - NOW! on: May 26, 2014, 09:58:57 AM
I don't think he was being serious, but IMDB ratings are not the ultimate barometer of greatness.

how much long this Signature Compaign will pay user?
How much time Stunna can take this offer?
No one can confirm this here its on Stunna any time he can stop this campaign as many other already done  Wink

Yeah.i don't think that this offer will survive more than a month

What are you talking about? It's been running for nine months or something.
10347  Other / Off-topic / Re: Help with a faulty laptop on: May 26, 2014, 06:37:13 AM
Thanks. I just tried it without the battery and it started to power up but I took the harddrive out. I put it back in and it seems to be booting up but the screen obviously isn't in right as it's completely black. Is there any way I can fuck it up by trying to fit the screen whilst it's powered on because otherwise I can't see if it's connected properly or not? I think it's the actual cable that connects the laptop to the screen that's lose/dodgy so that should be pretty cheap and easy to fix I imagine. At least I hope so.
10348  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm in love! on: May 26, 2014, 06:16:26 AM
we kinda even talked about a menage a trois ... she asked me if I'm married and I said yes but I still have space for one more person in my life!
And she said I always wanted to do it in 3!

Haha wtf? You're married? What country do you live in?

oh and by the way she has a 16 year old boy .... should I try to hook him up with the 18 year old?

Why? This is a bit weird. Are you going to try have a threesome with them if it doesn't work out with his mum?  Grin.

This story is starting to sound as real as Mark Karpeles being good at programming.

Only just now? Cheesy It's sounded like a fantasy to me from the start. I'm sure they'll be a new girl tomorrow. Good luck making your fantasies into reality though, op.
10349  Other / Meta / Re: The forum is asleep? on: May 26, 2014, 05:47:35 AM
I'm sure the majority will be from the USA but the rest will probably be spread out all over the world. UK would probably be the second largest. Would be interesting to see the whole stats though.

Edit: http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bitcointalk.org

USA 27.2%
Russia 8.5%
UK 4.9%
India 4.8%
Canada 4.2%
10350  Other / New forum software / Re: Two factor? on: May 26, 2014, 05:44:38 AM
I doubt it'll be implemented on the current site but I think it's planned for the new forum software. It would be a very good idea and would stop a lot of accounts getting hacked.
10351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency millionaire dream a thing of the past? on: May 26, 2014, 05:37:39 AM
It's more difficult to get rich off it now but it could still happen. I don't think 10k per coin is impossible so if you can get your hands on 100 it could happen eventually. Instead of trying to get rich off the currency itself look to invest in Bitcoin companies. If you could buy shares in the next Paypal or eBay for bitcoin you could make your money that way.
10352  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Hi new here need help on: May 25, 2014, 09:00:18 PM
Yes, or on the regular marketplace here. Never send first to someone as they're likely trying to scam you. Always use escrow unless the buyer is very trusted/respected.
10353  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm in love! on: May 25, 2014, 08:55:42 PM
Haha wtf? Another girl showed up in your life within the space of a day? Are you sure you can tell the difference between reality and fantasy? Or dreams/reality?  Cheesy Maybe you're in some sort of perverse matrix?
10354  Other / Off-topic / Re: signature tracks on: May 25, 2014, 08:53:07 PM
I had no idea what a signature track was either.

I'm sure there are some forums around that'll pay posters, but probably none as much or like this one does. I'm sure there'll be some other crypto forums that'll have it eventually, but they'll need to build up a hefty userbase first.
10355  Other / Meta / Re: Bring back newbie jail? on: May 25, 2014, 08:45:36 PM
I think it should be brought back in some form, but I doubt it'll kill off ponzis. They'll just wait till they're free of the jail and then post them. People need to stop investing in Ponzis and they'll soon dwindle.
10356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proof of massive fraudulent trading activity and how it has affected the price on: May 25, 2014, 07:47:19 PM
Bravo to the author of this article. Very convincing indeed, but I do not have the time to go through the same analysis that the author went through, so I'll just take his word for what it is.

Assuming this to be 100% correct, then how is it still free market when you don't know if other large exchanges like btc-china, bitstamp, or btc-e are doing the same thing? The only way the mtgox order book was analyzed was because the database was leaked. You can't expect other exchanges to conveniently leak their database for you to verify.

There have been several allegations of price fixing and fraudulent transactions on some of the big exchanges. It's even more prevelant on some of the smaller ones that deal with all these crappy alts that are pumped and dumped.
10357  Other / Off-topic / Re: What Song are you Listening To? on: May 25, 2014, 07:43:54 PM
Abandoned Pools - Sublime Currency: http://youtu.be/nM9ftUmJoEc

Really under-appreciated alt rock band. I recommend their first two albums.

You & I - One direction.

I like this song so much.

That song's a guilty pleasure of mine  Cheesy.

It's pretty easy to spot users with alt accounts in here. You might not want to post one after the other  Wink Tongue Cheesy.
10359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Willy Report...What do you guys make of it? on: May 25, 2014, 07:26:12 PM
Thread and a bit of discussion here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624877.0 but I'm sure this forum will be flooded with topics on this now  Cheesy. My bet is Mark is just a dodgy fuck.
10360  Economy / Services / Re: Get paid for your signature from FXOpen. Weekly payouts. on: May 25, 2014, 07:23:28 PM
Looks like OP didn't log in for the past 2 days, I hope he'll come back because I'm also interested in joining this campaign after I finish with Ritz one after June first he is shutting down.
I hope so...it would be shame for his bussnies otherwise.
I don't think we need to worry about admin not online till 28th.. as he mentioned
Quote
"Payouts will be provided on a weekly basis.
First payment - May, 26-28
Second payment - June, 2-4
And so on. "
Its serious biz here what they are doing , i don't think they can afford being so unprofessional about something on Public platform.

Maybe he doesn't work on weekends or has better things to do. If he's not online tomorrow then people can start worrying but he does state  payments are from the 26th-28th.
