It's not obvious. You not seen the matrix? And try beat a calculator lol.

Calculating the double of 3193757 very fast is not smart,
but beeing able to make a machine that can take this number
(well in binary so its 1100001011101110011101) and double it very fast is.

From your screenshot: 0,0000000894 BTC

So if I count the decimals correctly, that's 8.94 Satoshis for each click?

I had payments as low as .54 satoshi per click. But you can do this pretty fast and be done for a while.
10383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallet Import and Security Questions on: April 20, 2014, 11:36:20 AM
1. Incorrect, each private key corresponds only to a single private PUBLIC key. You'll have to import each one that contains a balance in it. Alternatively if you want to take use of Electrum's deterministic system you'd need to send it to one of the generated address rather than importing as imported keys aren't restored from seed.

2. It doesn't matter if they have your address - it's designed to be public and shared. What you don't want to is to expose the 12 word seed (e.g eat burgers potato nuggets etc) as all the addresses can be determined from there.

3. Java =/= Javascript - they are completely different things that have different features and functions. As far as security goes, being paranoid is good but it's a lot of effort. For most people making sure to scan their stuff with an AV and not clicking random links plus having an encrypted wallet is enough. For those worried about leaks in RAM then they may use a cold storage solution but it is a bit more effort.

Best advice is to keep you're wallet encrypted. No one not even the NSA would be able to bruteforce the encryption hence you'd be fine (except if there's a hole in the implementation - but there are bigger concerns if there are).

If you need any more help feel free to ask.

Sorry, but this had to be fixed Smiley

Flashing BIOS or not has nothing to do with "Bad BIOS" (the virus you are refering to). Afaik you cant check for Bad BIOS other than trying to boot from a CD. If you can boot from a CD, the BIOS should be fine.

Heartbleed will not affect you personaly, unless you run a server. It basicly can reveal secret information from a server that uses openSSL (in an old version). This might include things you send to this server, but it is not a way to inject malware to your PC. Esp. not if its offline.
10384  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Human brain hash power. on: April 20, 2014, 09:28:46 AM
I'm just curious what hash power would reach an Univesity professor (mathematician), making calculations on paper?
Would he be able to make at least one share?

and what would be easier for him to solve, scrypt or sha?

thanks for your opinions

I believe the problems are only for computers.

Understand, because it's too complicated, right?
At least some microhash he could produce, or not even that?

for instance, how would 16K share written on paper look like.
A book of 10 pages or 10 000 pages?

Just make one yourself and see how long it would take you.

sha 256 is explained here:

Take block 296778 (hash is: 00000000000000003cb6a19e5354ed4a4ade50ceecb8ee3176dfab4d7e275150)

Next week on Sunday the first payout will rollout. Today is Eastern and i have kids so i have no time .

Which browser do you use?

Hmm, probably better. Paying a few satoshi will just hurt you in terms of transaction cost.

Using Firefox 28.0 w/ ABE (disabled while im there ofc)
10386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Klick and Earn - Free BTC -without captcha - without reload on: April 20, 2014, 06:55:52 AM

In other words: in ~9 hours from now.

Little bug: sometimes

Congratulations, qwertyGuy, you are the winner of number1.

Just sent you 0.01BTC: https://blockchain.info/tx/6e439839ee4ab47876e37f55c6a622f67a7355c0d89e39dd4ef61a893f0050c9

So fellas, as for the other 0.05BTC, do we stick to this thread or start another round?

Good to see you paying out Smiley

The Question is, do you really want to go to 9432? Thats a lot of posts. They will probably be made. I think its better to keep the spam low and make either new rules (for 300.000 th roll maybe) or just randomly give the rest away to those who allready have guessed. Depending on the rules you might need a new thread Wink

The winners are post 90 (qwertyGuy) and post 9432 (nobody?).

Lucky me, but not if I have wait untill post 9432 is posted here  Smiley

So did you get your price yet or did OP just use us to get more referals?
10389  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help with ubuntu Heartbleed fix on: April 19, 2014, 06:40:05 PM
Hello all...newbie here i currently have ubuntu 12.04 and i sucessfully upgraded my openssl version to "built on" date of apr7 2014. however i have been unable to find any suitable guide to install new qt 0.9.1 on my ubuntu os and im still using the .9.0 qt..was upgrading my openssl version sufficient or are there more steps for me to take to ensure heartbleed is fixed?

Thanks

you are not alone... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=575342.0

Looks like you have to do it by hand, like this guy here:

How can I Upgrade my Bitcoin QT?

I use Linux Ubunto and I don't know what to do.

Being a noob myself I asked the same question and got no answer here. Just to have it clear I was using bitcoin 0.9.0 from Ubuntu PPA and
had my libssl1.0.0 updated however in the debug window it still showed old/insecure version of OpenSSL.

So here is what I did:

-First thing first back up ur wallet.
-Shut down your client.
-Now make a backup of your current bitcoin-qt executable/shared library which should be in /usr/bin
Code:
cd /usr/bin
sudo mv bitcoin-qt bitcoin-qt.bckup
-Download and verify bitcoin-0.9.1-linux.tar.gz
-Navigate to your Home directory
Code:
cd ~
-and then to Downloads
Code:
cd Downloads
-unzip what you've downloaded
Code:
tar xvzf bitcoin-0.9.1-linux.tar.gz
-Navigate to just unzipped directory
Code:
cd bitcoin-0.9.1-linux
-and then depending on whether your system is 32 or 64 do
Code:
cd bin/32

/* alternatively if your system is 64 do */

cd bin/64
-copy bitcoin-qt from this directory to /usr/bin
Code:
sudo cp bitcoin-qt /usr/bin

-start your client the usual way.

Hope it helps...

The first few days, any coins have good supply and demand & not exist good or bad news.
Increases or decreases OTHER COINS prices depends on what factors?

Why would a new coin has good supply and good demand?
Yeah indeed, that's just nonsense.

It might have high supply because it was premined. Which is usually a bad sign.
It might have high demand because it has new and unique features.
Probably no alt coin has high supply and high demand. It just makes no sense, as they would cancel eachother out and result in either low demand or low supply. I just assume "good" here means high.

newbie jail -snip-

Why would anyone want it back?

There are plenty people in other sub forums who want it back. They didnt have newbies with 1-10 posts for a long time and not every newbie is nice and willing to learn. Some just make a new account to scam, to spam or to troll. It takes way more dedication to break out of the newbie jail.

Nooo not latin, 2 years of that was enough to make me love her majesties English!

Back on topic.  Perhaps it is just me, but I don't believe that X companies owning Y brands reduces 'choice'.  So long as there is more than 1 of a 'product' there is a semblance of choice - EVEN if the options have been determined ahead of time.  What people tend to forget, is that unless the lack of Y is terminal to your health - the 2nd option of NO always exists.  We (me and whomever else here is one) as parents must always teach our children that just because cartoon Z says buy Y or advert A says buy Y that you don't HAVE to.  The bigger challenge is to have our kids stand up to the 'normalised' kids at school and be prepared to be different.

Ag, its Saturday afternoon - maybe i"m talking a load of hot air Smiley.

The biggest challange I see is to stand behind your kids, no matter what. Because for a long time when the kids are young, the people that life with them are all that matters. They might not realize this, but as long as the family supports them they will be fine. Maybe a little boy likes to wear dresses. That might result in an adult (male) to wear a dress. Just to show the little boy that its fine to wear whatever he wants. Thats what gives a kid confidence.

Most people don't have the attention span for anything more than 5 minutes :-)

I agree with you fully and thanks for the German word. Zeitgeist is German with no English word too. I've always thought English was the language of the devil and it frustrates me that I can't explain what I have in my head in this crippled language. German keeps cropping up and maybe it is a better language. Maybe we should all re learn Latin... :-)

What? oh a train... cho cho Wink

Your You are welcome. But I dont think that there are so many new german words. There are words in english that dont have a representation in german either. E.g. security and safety is both "Sicherheit" in german, which is stupid, because it two different things. I think learning another language allways helps you to learn new words and to better express what you feel, because each language has unique words. Some can be translated but lose meaning, some can not be translated but you still know their meaning. Chinese and Japan probably have a lot of words we "long noses" dont know.

Not that entertaining when you lose. Might be best to find a less addictive pastime.

People would say that about drugs as well, but that belongs in another thread.

Im fine when people use bots for martingale, just to make that clear. They should not expect a steady income though. Its might be thrilling for some to see the results of the bot. For me its the moment I hit the key/throw the dice. Im more of a do-it-yourself kinda person. Cheesy
10396  Other / Off-topic / Re: Freebitco.in earn bitcoins using Martingale betting system on: April 19, 2014, 03:06:22 PM
The first time I tried martingale I couldnt believe it was working as I quickly racked up a lot of profit... then I lost it all in about 30 seconds.

The key is knowing when to quit. Most people would be rich if they did.

No the  key is to see gambling for what it is. Gambling is entertainment. If you knew the next roll it wouldnt be fun. Gambling is not a way to earn money, its a way to enjoy spending money. See it as that and you will never regret it. You will enjoy your winnings and drink expensive wine same as you will take your loses and be fine.

Seriously, the fact that you had to explain that shows how retarded the averge Joe is these days and getting complex things across to them is impossible. This is how the MK Ultra mind control program works. Make peoples attention spans so short they can never work out the truth because they want everything in 10 minute easy digestible pieces! The world however can not be explained in these simplistic terms which leads to the cognitive disadence that's spread around the world today. The oppressed oppress there own for the oppressors!

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K7SgeLVPsCs

Rich is bad, the poor dont get a chance. So much for to much simplicity. The lyrics are probably meant to wake you up, but they dont get you anywhere. I dont want to derailed this topic any more, but this is exactly what you are talking about. A song < 3 minutes can not explain those complex topics that the artist wants to discuss there. You need to find your own way, for you and your (chosen-) family*. Everything else does not matter.

* The german word I try to translate here is: Wahlfamilie. Apparently that does not exist in english. It basiclly means that while you are tied by blood to some people and the majority would call that a family, this must not be what you understand as a family. So there are people you chose (and they chose you obviously) that are your family, that you share your life with.

This looks shopped,  no way a tattoo artist would do that to a child. Interesting that mom had stars around her ariola.

Of course that is shopped. Even if you find someone to do thr tatoos, they take time to heal. I the meantime the kid grows and the skin stretches.

The picture is meant to be a methaphor. I have kids myself and I do understand what this is hinting at, but I dont see it. Kids like their fair share of crap, same as we did when we where young. Esp. the little kids dont care if they get nike or adidas or whatever. They want colorful shoes thats all.

I have today lost 11200 Satoshi with a outer account. Settings: Tollerance 11, the rest default.

Thats the problem with martingale. Youd think that doubling 11 timess is enough, but its not. And you dont even play yourself for the kicks. I had a 14 loss in a row and several more over 12. If you are willing to gamble your coins, do it by hand. Betting all you have and winning is a great feeling.
Or you lose an infinite number of times in a row because you don't have any luck?

One can only lose finite times. Martingale makes your risk rise exponential, while your reward stays the same. You can win for a time, but in the end you allways bust. Casanova knew this, every smart gambler knows this.
